Oh yes bumper, I never actually pay for anything! My free time (what there is of it) revolves around getting stuff for free/as cheap as humanly possible! It's a great hobby!

BumperliciousNeedsToSleep · 27/05/2008 22:04

Interesting Sputnik, I'll tell DH, thanks

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 27/05/2008 22:07

Twat!

Sputnik · 27/05/2008 22:16

Holly that is exactly what it's like, especially the wanting to take up smoking again bit.

Glad I'm not the only one (well not glad but YKWIM)

BumperliciousNeedsToSleep · 27/05/2008 22:21

I recently thought about taking up smoking even though I have never smoked regularly before

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 27/05/2008 22:27

My dd is asleep on the sofa. She looks so cute and cuddly that I feel really guilty for being mean to her earlier. I'm going to go and hug my dd and put her to bed, then go and get into bed with ds and snuggle with him and go to sleep.

Aren't sleeping babies the best?!

Peace out xx

lackaDAISYcal · 27/05/2008 22:34

I am soooooo over the smoking habit. Gave up when 6 weeks pg with DD, had a drag of a fag at Christmas and thought "meh". don't even get the urge at all now.........if only the same were true of alcohol

lol at that thread holly....why oh why do people do it? there was onother one yesterday about SAHMs and how they should get their lazy sorry arses back to work as soon as their DCs hit 1.

BumperliciousNeedsToSleep · 27/05/2008 22:34

Going to bed too, night all xxxx

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 28/05/2008 06:51

Aw Bumper, that ziggy site was great (if pricey). I've just been looking at their fancy dress stuff

Sorry I just disappeared last night, was suddenly exhausted and just had to go to bed. Glad to see that Holly's still getting plenty of free stuff though I presume that some money changed hands for a shiny new car though?

My sister arrives this morning, so this will probably be it from me until the weekend. Of course, she's really coming to see the jamlet not me but it'll be good to see her anyway. But I do have to clear up this morning and sort out a bed for her etc.

Sputnik · 28/05/2008 10:54

God I am tired.
Baby woke up in the middle of the night and was grumpy, then woke at some point before 6 annd wanted to play. I couldn't go back to sleep as i'm afraid he'll plummet off the bed.

So I'm still pissed off. Also, DH is off on friday for 9 days, he'll miss 2 weekends. So not looking forward to that.

foxythesnowfox · 28/05/2008 11:13

Sorry to hear that Sputnik. Sounds like you need a bit of looking after too.

Music to life your spirits? I like to dance in the kitchen sometimes, but I can't as DS1 has a friend here and he will go and tell him mum that DS1s mum is barking.

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 28/05/2008 11:38

Ahhhh, you would be wrong there jammy, the car is free too! Well, it is a new company car, so not technically ours, but as good as! It is going to be here around 12...woohoo!

Hope you have a lovely time with your sis. My sister often comes round here, plays with the dcs and goes again!

Sputnik, sorry about your shitty night. Hope dh buys you something nice when he goes away.

Foxy, I like do mental dancing too, but then so does dd. We do crazy dancing in the living room and ds just sits on the sofa and laughs at us!

HellHathNoFury · 28/05/2008 12:37

helloooooooooo

How is everyone? Sputnik, sorry to hear you are grumpy. I manage to sleep through all DS's cries (not sure how). Luckily DH does it.
I can't get motivated at work today, so instead I have binged on croissants and kit kats.
I am on my period, that's my carb induced excuse and I am sticking to it.

lackaDAISYcal · 28/05/2008 13:35

We bop around the house the the Levellers Waht a Beautiful Day...always lifts my mood

Sputnik, where is DH off to this time? I hope things go smoothly whilst he is away (temporary single parent empathy coming your way )

Fury....eat those carbs and enjoy

We also have a DS friend here today and I seem to have spent the entire day shouting at them. DSs friend has cloth ears and is very rude and cheeky. We popped to Sainsbury's to get stuff to make pizza for lunch and he asked me for money so he could buy some sweets . I would be mortified if I thought DS was asking people for money. Yesterday, when DH was here they played happil together and were no bother. Today all I've heared is "C said this, J said that, he's got the toy I was playing with, he hit me...etc etc ad nauseum. Roll on 3:30!

DD asleep (she was up at 2, and then again at 5:30) so I'm having a coffee and some chocolate and a few minutes to myself.

Sputnik · 28/05/2008 13:41

Ha, unfortunatly my DH gets sent places that are not really known for their shopping possibilities. That said he did get me a nice necklace last time, but it has sharp edges that I'm afraid of scalping the baby with, so it's not in use for now.

Sputnik · 28/05/2008 13:48

Actually DD and I were doing a little Boogie Beebies routine this morning, she has watched the dvd a million times and is pretty good at them.
"Do the chicken, yeah yeah, do the ferret, yeah yeah" etc etc.

Daisy, he is off to the Democratic Republic of Congo. Not renowned for it's shopping, and not easy to get to (hence him having to leave on a friday). I suppose I could ask for a diamond.

lackaDAISYcal · 28/05/2008 13:51

lol Sputnik...boogie beebies gets right on my tits.

You should definately ask for a gem of some sort, and then you can have it set as you like.

what does he do? seems a bit of an obscure destination!.....FB me if you'd rather not say on the WWW.

Sputnik · 28/05/2008 14:02

Daisy, he's a mercenary

Sputnik · 28/05/2008 14:04

Actually I saw a Boogie Beebies at xmas and thought they'd gone right downhill. The kids dancing were much too professional. We have the first series where they were young and fresh. Plus Pete is a bit annoying I agree.

lackaDAISYcal · 28/05/2008 16:33

lol sputnik...he should be able to pillage some gems then

and pmsl at discussing the artistic merits of boogie babies......"you know you have to get out more when....."

lordy it has just started pissing down here....I think we are getting the weather that down south had at the weekend.

my friend has just been over and as I was making tea, DD was trying to get into the cat food again. DF told her, very authorativley, "NO" and gave her her best teacher's hard stare, and poor DD started howling and crawled over to the other side of the kitchen and sobbed into my ankles. She then wouldn't look at my poor friend for ages. I was torn between comforting her and PMSL as it was quite funny

Sputnik · 28/05/2008 16:42

Actually there are loads of things I would like - liposucion springs to mind - but gems are just not one of them. Which is lucky as it would never occur to DH to give me any.

Sputnik · 28/05/2008 16:45

liposuction even

lackaDAISYcal · 28/05/2008 19:25

gah, what an afternoon. I'm so glad it's over and the dcs are in bed....well mostly, dd is hving her bottle. ds has been pushing the boundaries all day, doing stuff he knows he shouldn't whikst eyeballing me with a really defiant smirk on his face. I'm trying not to react, but it's bloody hard.

lackaDAISYcal · 28/05/2008 20:32

only me tonight then?

justbeme · 28/05/2008 20:37

Oh sorry you've had a crappy day Daisy - I used to breathe a sigh of relief come Lo's bedtime!!! Peace at last!
I had another wave tonight from L (plus a 2 second cry once Id left the room!).

Also - possible fluke - but I sat her on a potty today and both times she used it after I said the appropriate "sounds"!! Not that I think she will be potty trained early or anything - but I did this with DD1 when in the bathroom and it saved any wee on the mat whilst getting ready for bed. (it def didnt speed up training!) But it made me happy today!! (sad but true!!)
