Oh OK, I won't have KFC again. about your dad madeindevon2.

L is the same with her walker. She thinks she's completely hilarious with it!

largeginandtonic · 28/05/2008 12:54

Bloody hell Devon that is terrible! How is he? What do they do to rid his body of it? Has the local KFC been investigated?

Come on Jam, thinking of you my lovely.

Did you get your mobile number to her LG&T? Am starting to get butterflies now.

cameroonmama · 28/05/2008 13:00

Jaaaaaaammmm where are you? [nervous emoticon]

God MID, that's dreadful

largeginandtonic · 28/05/2008 13:08

Yes, showing off her scan picture to all and sundry.

madeindevon2 · 28/05/2008 13:16

hes doing ok considering!! (hes very fit for his age) has been on IV antiobiotics 4 times a day since we went in. they are now about to change to oral antibiotics. his bacteria levels coming down but its not gone yet...
the whole episode was very frightening for mum tho.....he had temp of 42 by time he got to hospital and was barely conscious.
dad has filled in form as required by law when you get something like this. council will be doing investigation....

Pinkjenny · 28/05/2008 13:18

that is awful. My nephew had salmonella a couple of years ago. They never found out where he contracted it from.
He's fine now though, no lasting damage to his kidneys.

madeindevon2 · 28/05/2008 13:19

pj....yeah freddie the same. giggling and guffawing away to himself walkin up and down the lounge. he thinks hes hilarious....and very clever of course too

Pinkjenny · 28/05/2008 13:20

Is this what happens then? Do they just get braver and braver and then take a few steps? I am very proud of my little clicky hipped Lexie with her walker.

madeindevon2 · 28/05/2008 13:23

mum and dad always eat together...the same things....occasionally they have a takeaway (in this instance kfc) as mum wasn't affected the only thing i really think it can be is kfc. 48 hrs before he got ill too...which is the incubation period apparently.
its not proven of course yet but i wont be visiting their local kfc (or any in fact.) im a nandos fan tho,,,,

madeindevon2 · 28/05/2008 13:26

yeah i think they just get braver and braver....take one hand off... lunge for something close by....and they're off!!!!!
it was only a week ago he was just managing to pull himself up. now he does it without it looking like much effort.
expecting lots of toppling over before hes really walking tho!! bless!!!

madeindevon2 · 28/05/2008 13:27

Lexie is such a pretty name. my niece and god-daughter is called Lexie. shes nearly 2 and very cute (freddie thinks so too i think!)

Pinkjenny · 28/05/2008 13:29

Ha ha thanks, dh calls her Lex, which drives me completely insane.

My mum always calls her Alexa. For some unknown reason.

Pinkjenny · 28/05/2008 13:31

Right, am seriously boycotting other threads. Have just done my first flounce!

Apparently Dairylea is 'shite'. Lexie loves it.

MKG · 28/05/2008 13:39

Good morning everyone!!

Jam--am thinking of you!

OK so I took Cruz for his checkup and shots last night. He now weighs 22.5 pounds and is 31 inches long. Took me an hour and a half at the doctor. 30 minutes in the waiting room because the doctor was late. Then the nurse did his height and weight. Then we waited for the doctor another 15 minutes for her to come and tell me what I already knew (he's perfect and right on target). Then another 20 minutes waiting for the shots. I'm glad I don't do this all the time or I'd lose my mind. The only good thing is that they are open till 9pm so I can leave Mateo at home. Have to back today for his blood to be drawn to check for lead. Oh the joys!

SKYTVADDICT · 28/05/2008 13:41

Callum loves it too PJ

I try and not get involved in food threads -they can be very opinionated!

Hoping JW is off having a celebratory lunch!

ShowOfHands · 28/05/2008 13:45

MID Hope he is out of hospital soon.

PJ, Lexie'll walk without knowing it. Mathilda only started walking because her magpie tendency carried her forwards before her brain could remind her to kneel down and crawl. Today she's walked up and down the front room, stopped to clap at each end, turned round, shouted 'oo ray', waved at me and set off again. Tis hilarious.

Where is Jam then?

Pinkjenny · 28/05/2008 13:47

SOH - Mathilda is such a little treasure. I want to meet her.

Seriously, where is she?

ShowOfHands · 28/05/2008 14:36

Nah you don't. You'd get wrist ache from having to wave at her every 7 seconds.

JAM!

SKYTVADDICT · 28/05/2008 15:12

I know I'm not in the mood for work but I seem to be popping on here more than I should be! Waiting to find some news of JW.

Sounds awful for your mum and dad MID. Hopefully they will get it sorted.

Pinkjenny · 28/05/2008 15:38

Still nervously waiting...

Pinkjenny · 28/05/2008 15:41

Have all the non-BF May 07 babies started having cow's milk now?

AbbyLou · 28/05/2008 15:46

Yes. Ruby finished a box of formula about 2 weeks before she was 1 and she just went straight on to cow's milk. The hv asked me to watch her carefully because she thought it might make her excema flare up but she has been fine.

elkiedee · 28/05/2008 15:47

We've been giving D cows' milk and it seems to be going down ok (there are some babies it doesn't agree with on the April 2007 thread).
