Could I come and hold your hand during the scan? Or restrain your younger children during it at least?

Seriously, if you need company then I would come down.

MKG · 04/06/2008 16:46

LG&T--your a woman not a clown car. How many babies do think will come tumbling out? I don't think the midwife will be quoted as saying "Ooh here comes another one ooh and another ooh and another".

largeginandtonic · 04/06/2008 16:47

Thank you! Yes please. When i have a date i will let you know. I may cover my eyes and you can look I am only opening them when you tell me it is one, otherwise they will remain firmly shut

And you are not a nuissance. You are a patient and it's her job to call you.

I would love to come. Although explaining to dh that I want to take a transatlantic flight to see you would take a little convincing.

largeginandtonic · 04/06/2008 16:56

Bugger him MKG

Although TYG you are seriously pregnant and have little A. I am not so sure a huge drive is a good idea. It takes about 3 hours does it not?

OP posts:
twelveyeargap · 04/06/2008 17:40

2.5 hrs according to the AA but I did it in just over 2 hours when we met up in Gunwharf that time. The sodding Jag is going to be in the garage at least until the end of the week (waiting for parts on back order), but let me know the date and I'll plan round it. In fact, I might even be able to tie it in with a visit to my cousin in Somerset. It's all in a vaguely south westerly direction... Once I'm outside the North Circular Road it's all easy peasy anyway and the only time the car does more than about 8 miles to the gallon. The traffic kills it.

AprilMeadow · 04/06/2008 18:45

just had a quick read through.

LG&T , i too am available for hand holding at scan. Just shout

Had hair chopped off and highlighted! very different (well i think so).

MJ, sorry to hear about M's foot. Hope you are keeping well. Just let me know when you are about for a chat xx

Jam, pics from A's party looked so lovely - you are looking well as well.

Cam, glad it arrived and is the right size.

Scoot, how did it go?

Pink, great news on L's hips.

largeginandtonic · 04/06/2008 18:53

Thank you! I would feel better knowing you were not making the trip just for me. We live in the bollock of Portsmouth and it can be a nightmare to get in to.

Madamejaffa · 04/06/2008 19:01

Oh did you see that? I think it was AM flying though... whats keeping you so busy? How was the weekend?

I am trying to find the chance to call, when I am not killing disciplining my children or think you'll be there, will try for an evening when all safely tucked up for the night. x

AprilMeadow · 04/06/2008 19:45

weekend was lovely thank you. very hot and sunny on the saturday and pissed with rain on the sunday - not good racing weather! Rain cleared up for last race and i went on as a grid girl! felt very out of place in my jeans and jumper against all the skinny, spray tanned, hair extensioned, false boobs and nails, make up put on with a trowel girls! jealous....... no!

scootermum · 04/06/2008 20:12

Will get some rice dream then as Soya milk is vile..

I volunteer for scan hand holding too if TYG is giving birth or something Or else I will mind Hugs and co..I somehow feel that if we put Lily and Hugs together they will be in awe of each others ability to make chaos which will result in a state of unheard of calm.Or something like that

Glad you had a good weekend of it AM..I would quite like being a grid girl I think..Did you get to hold a flag and everything?

DH has just informed me that since I am not seriously ill he will now be going to watch cricket all day on Sunday and also next Thurs and Fri evenings.Good luck with that is what I say.As a pay back he said I can go into Cambridge for the day on Saturday on my own to oglethestudentsget a frock for Ascot.Does anyone want to come and go on a punt with me?

Right had better go and wrap the pass the parcel and M's little presents for Friday as I am going out tomorrow night so will have no time to do it otherwise.God alone knows when I will make all the sandwiches..With L 'helping' im not sure how it will go..

AprilMeadow · 04/06/2008 21:28

oh yeah!

elkiedee · 04/06/2008 23:21

I have visions of a whole crowd of you holding LGT's hands (or feet) for the scan now. I might try phoning the hospital if I have a moment when my boss is in meetings tomorrow - I'm expecting it to be 2-4 weeks away but I'd love a date to look forward to, even though I'll be quite nervous too.

Madamejaffa · 05/06/2008 08:58

Just buried our second cat this year! Harrison was devastated again! Not fair, horrible thing to have to tell a 5yr old.

She was sooooo gorgeous too (in a kinda cat way)

elkiedee · 05/06/2008 09:45

MJ, that's so sad for you and Harrison. I'm sorry. That will be us in a few years time (hope not sooner), our 2 were from the same litter and were 10 years old in January, they've been with us for more than 9 years and I can't imagine them not being around. And I'm sure ds (and dp) will be upset too.

Madamejaffa · 05/06/2008 10:01

Thanks elkie.

She wasn't even 1 yet! She was just such a softy, I am not an "animal" person at all usually, but she was so lovely. I keep looking in the garden expecting to see her jumping about chasing flys. I am gonna miss this one.

largeginandtonic · 05/06/2008 11:06

Oh MrsJB what happened? I remember you getting her! Poor old Harrison and you

I spoke to the midwife last night, she remembered me from before with Beau. She has worked out my date as being due 1st Jan, that makes me 10 weeks. She said better to go on the early date or i would miss the window for the nuchal fold scan. So only a couple of weeks to wait for a scan! She is coming to book me in next wednesday.

Phew.

OP posts:
Pinkjenny · 05/06/2008 11:26

MrsJB - what a horrible thing to have happen. LG&T - oooh, 10 weeks! Its going fast already...

Why oh why does my mum ring me every Thursday and Friday to give me problems. She won't eat her lunch, she hasn't slept long enough, she's cut her arm, she's banged her head, she's going mad with these teeth, etc etc etc. And I swear to god, every day she rings me and says, 'she's not herself'.

It is driving me mad.

cameroonmama · 05/06/2008 11:33

oh mrsJB, what happened? Poor H.

LG&T. wowzers 10 weeks already, that'll explain the yeuky symptoms then.

Pink surely you don't take after your mother?

Scoooooooot, great news on the diagnosis and even greater news that I have millions of mags to read now, thanks so much. I will send you some money to cover the postage coz I saw how much it was !

Pinkjenny · 05/06/2008 11:38

Cam - yes they tell me in anxiety --bollox- management that its a 'learned behaviour'. Shocker!

Pinkjenny · 05/06/2008 11:38

Oh bollocks.

Madamejaffa · 05/06/2008 11:39

Woo Hoo for scan date soon to be sorted... can't wait!

She was hit by a car/lorry? Found her just opposite the house about 11pm last night, she'd not been seen since lunchtime. Don't think she'd suffered though, she was hit in the head so probably instant. Poor thing. She hardly ever left the house or garden so she was just unlucky. Think it probably happened sometime that afternoon, she was very stiff already when we found her. She is under the apple tree now along side Marmite. Our field is turning into a pet cemetry.

elkiedee · 05/06/2008 11:43

Oh no MJ, sorry not to have realised, that's horrible.

lgt, 10 weeks already! That's exciting.

MKG · 05/06/2008 12:42

MRsJaffa, sorry about the loss of the cat. I hope Harrison is doing ok. My mom never liked our animals growing up, but when they died she would always cry and say, "I hated that stupid dog" which of course meant that she loved it to pieces.

LG&T-Glad to hear you got your scan in order and know your date. Maybe you will have baby new year. Oh to be 10 weeks pregnant again .

JamInMyWellies · 05/06/2008 12:48
