Oh boo. Gutted about the appeal. Will you have to take whatever is allocated to him now or did you have a second preference place to take?

largeginandtonic · 02/06/2008 13:52

He will stay where he is for now and pray that a space comes up at the school for September. I cannot bear the thought of the school run hassle when i have the next baby It nearly killed me before.

I dont think i was this sick with Beau, i am fearing the worst. As much as i ^love6 the twins i am really not sure i want another set.

We just had another appointment with dd's doc, she is lovely. I have a mammoth list of appointments coming up for her, poor girl. She is pleased with how she is though so good for now.

Did i tell you all (just to add to the fun of chez G&T) that i have decided to take on a Spanish student in a couple of weeks, for a month. She is 15. I will provide all food and run her round a little bit to various activities. Good for the children i though, madness on my part yes?

largeginandtonic · 02/06/2008 13:53

Did you make that cake???? WOW!

OP posts:
JamInMyWellies · 02/06/2008 14:06

PMSL ROFL god no there is no way I could produce a cake like that.

Spanish student what the feckety feck do you think you are doing you mad woman. Make sure you get her to help with the kids.

You sound so much more positive about Phinn now am really glad you have got a good consultant are you using any of the help forums relating to her condition?

I really do need to get on I have a pile of ironing that has overtaken my airing cupboard and most of it is DP's shirts I hate doing shirts and why oh why does he insist on buying Thomas Pink double cuffs cant he just go to M&S like normal blokes and buy easy iron regular shirts.

largeginandtonic · 02/06/2008 14:10

Well the cake was still good

I am a bit happier about the whole Phim thing thing now, especially now she knows and i dont feel like i am lying to her. I cant bring myself to chat to other forums, too scared of all the terrible tales of the other girls. Phin is mildly affected but i know lots are not so lucky I get all i need from MN

Happy anniversary Mrs JB. Congratulations!

Iron the Pink shirts before they are completely dry Jam. It's the only way it works. Otherwise, use one of those water spray things (like for house-plants) and spray them all over and leave the water to soak in a bit before ironing. The spray on the iron doesn't wet them enough I find. Not for those heavy-gauge cotton ones.

You are mad LG&T!

Madamejaffa · 02/06/2008 21:41

Student..... jee woman, you are crazy, but yes the kids will love it I'm sure and they pay quite good money often.

Thanks for the anniversay wishes.
Became a memorable one as have just spent 2hrs in A&E with Maddie, to cut a long story short, she managed to fall off a stool, pulling it wth her landing across the top of her feet, right one bruised a little, left one VERY bruised, swollen. She will put no weight on it and screams if you try to move her toes! Fortunately X-ray showed it is not broken, so she is bandaged/pain reliefed up and has to be walking on it by Wednesday or they will plaster it for a short time so that she can load bear on it!
Might slow her down for a day or two.

Lupins71 · 03/06/2008 08:03

LGT are you bloody mad woman, dont you tink you ave enough on your hands - altho i suppose you can put her use , hope you start to feel better soon, what a bugger about the appeal fingers crossed for september

MJ cool cake the party looks great fun - and good weather too

JAM check your excess on the insurance before you make a claim - usually its about £50 - altho i must say i have always got back per year more than i have paid to te insurance company

Lupins71 · 03/06/2008 08:45

O Brill DP has just been sacked

Lupins71 · 03/06/2008 08:47

ShowOfHands · 03/06/2008 09:08

Lupins

What happened?

scootermum · 03/06/2008 09:09

Ruddy hell Lups..Why?

Love to Maddie Mrs JB..Something like that has hapened on every one of our weding anniversaries, illness, car break downs in the middle of nowhere, small fires..so we have given up trying to celebrate them now for fear of what may happen!

re dh sailing largegandt..where has he gone or is it classified? You could tell us but then you'd have to kill us..

Well L has had me in tears all weekend as hse has now decided she doesnt like me at all and wont come anywhere near me.Im guessing this is becuase im the only one who tells her off but nevertheless its still very upsetting. And also it wouldnt be so bad if ehr behaviour was good when she was with DH but she still plays up for him!I dont knwo what to do with her at all

I am off to the consultant tomorrow although typically I now feel okish..have cut out basically anything interesting from my diet which seems to have helped but its like purgatory.
My main issue this morning is that I am trapped in my (very directional floral) blouse. It has ties at the back which I have done too tight and have just spilt green tea down self at desk so want to take it off but cant as the strings have worked themselves into an unbreakable knot.I may have to go and ask for help Am not cutting them, ruddy thing cost fifty quid.

Pinkjenny · 03/06/2008 11:44

Morning all

Pinkjenny · 03/06/2008 11:52

God that was short wasn't it? Hit the wrong button. Talking of God... DH and I forgot to go to Baptism Preparation class on Sunday. I rang the church but they haven't called me back. I wonder if we'll be allowed to christen L still? I was caught up in 31st birthday madness. Got a spa day from dh, which he bought for me and my mum, tis on Sunday, breakfast, massage, facial, lunch, pedicure, manicure, blah blah. Mum and dad got me a Tiffany bracelet with Alexa engraved on the charm. What a spoiled brat I am. Went for a Chinese and to see SATC on Friday night. I swear, it was amazing. If you watched the series, that is.

Had a lovely day on Saturday, took L to the seaside. She ate an entire ice cream cone, never dropped it once. She had hold of it in a vice-like grip. When we got home it was so sunny, we had a BBQ and invited lots of family round. Twas great. Seriously.

But the best news... I decided to take the bull by the horns and stop putting off L's hip appointment at Alder Hey. I called them yesterday and they told me to go in as they weren't busy. She was x-rayed, and all is fine! She's still on the edge of the normal range, but they weren't concerned, and I guess normal is normal. We go back on 8th June 2009!!! Am so thrilled for my little clicky hipped princess. YAY!!!!

OK, will stop being self obsessed now and catch up.

SKYTVADDICT · 03/06/2008 12:48

Great news about the hips PJ.

Really busy at work but its the last day until 19 June, then I only have 4 left!

Hope you are feeling better today LG&T. A Sapnish student - rather you than me!

Lups - what happened!

Madamejaffa · 03/06/2008 13:07

Lupins are you OK? What on earth happend?

Yay for L PJ

Scoot, good luck for your appointment for tomorow. You have my sympathy with L, you know how "special" I find Maddie. It is hard going.

AM.... how was the weekend?

Lupins71 · 03/06/2008 13:25

Scoot good luck with the appt, sorry L is been horrid to you - however its better that than the tptal lack of respect my friends dd has for her and shes only 4 evil little thing, hope you manage to rescue your top

Dp has not been getting on with the manager so he has been getting all the crap dirty hard digging jobs while all the others have been on the easy stuff, dp was given a warning for something that never happened, loads of numpty stuff all caused by manager, anyway yesterday words were said in the pub in front of the owner and this morning dp gets to work and is sacked - for not being a team player, even tho he has not been included in any team stuff, I am not cross with dp, but its just so infuriating, i had just got on top of stuff and had started paying mum back and now its back to skintsville - I am really tempted to get a job myself, trouble is dd is now out of school and I am no way sending her back, and dp would be a crappy house husband, pants pants pants, hopefully it wont be long till my grandads money comes and then it wont be such a problem

Yippee on the hip news PJ well done you as well, the bday sounds lovely cant beat a bit of pampering

Off to take dd swimming and post my very very late ebay parcels

Madamejaffa · 03/06/2008 13:46

lups. xx

scootermum · 03/06/2008 13:50

Sorry to hear that Lups..Will DH llok for another job?

How old is the Spanish student largegandt?

Sounds lovely Pink..and yay! re the hips..

I had to go down and ask the cleaner to untangle me in the end.She found it hilarious.Gavr it a quick wash and have decided hencefoth to wear it loose fit.

Have just been down the Angel and spent a small fortune on party balloons for M's birthday and tat to go in the pass the parcel.God bless Woolworths..Also tried a frock on in Karen Millen for Ascot but looked a fat heiffer..Ams ure their sized m,ust be very small

largeginandtonic · 03/06/2008 14:20

Yes Scoot Karen Millen are tiny Hope the app goes ok my sweet, lay on thick. Dont what to say to you about Lils, just keep at it and she will come good

Lups how awful! Will he look for another job? What about the refernce issue? Nightmare.

MrsJB is Maddie ok? Will she put any weight on it at all?Bless her.

The student is 15, i get £87 a week for having her. I am regretting it.

Dh just phoned me and said he is away fro 3 weeks not 2 Then he is home for 9 days then they sail again for 6 weeks I dont know if it was the shock or what but i damn near fainted in the town centre. Came home quick. I only fainted when pregnant with the twins... god HELP me.

OP posts:
largeginandtonic · 03/06/2008 14:22

Pink i told ya she would be fine Did you have lots of vino blanc last night to celebrate?

OP posts:
Madamejaffa · 03/06/2008 14:58

lg&t, I don't know about you but I can't bear the wait....when's the first scan?
Oh no about N, how sad, at least you won't be disturbed at bed time.
Will your student be there whilst N is away too?

Maddie couldn't put any weight on her foot last night, screamed each time she forgot. This morning though it was remarkably better, think the strap is giving her some support. She was gingerly walking on her heel first thing but by breakfast she'd devised a good limp using the edge of her foot and heel. Needless to say, I determined she was fit for school and off she went. The school haven't phoned so sounds as though she's coping. I am pleased though as means the dr should be happy tomorow and it won't need casting!

scootermum · 03/06/2008 15:33

Hey gandt..heres an idea..when I was preggo with M I had an offer of a student placement from the local college-someone learning to be a nursery nurse who comes to yoiur house 3 days a week to help and leanr about kids. They were partic interested in people with toddlers and babies.Well you have both (and some!)I wonder if they do that down your way? Unless you would get fed up having someone there all the time?I thought it might be fun if you got a nice one but if the person was a bit wet or whatever you would want rid!

If its twins we could all devise a rota to come and help But only if you promise cake...

Glad Maddie is on the mend Mrs JB..Compare that to if it were a man with the injury..you wouldnt see them up and about for 4 weeks!

DH has just emailed me to say he forgot to order M's birtday cake from the nice bakery near his work. One job..that was all he had to do.I beg of you.. [head in hands emoticon]

MKG · 03/06/2008 15:41

Hello ladies,

Lupins: I'm so sorry. Hopefully he'll find something else pretty fast.

MrsJB--Congratulations!!

LG&T--I think you are gonna have quads. I can't wait for your scan.

Nothing new to report here. My life is boring. Am thinking of flying out to see my sister at the end of this month. That should be fun. Have to check on those frequent flier miles though.

Pinkjenny · 03/06/2008 16:03

Dodged the other thread Scoot - thought I would be lynched for saying I wanted L christened despite not being a regular church goer. TBH its more for my family than me, but didn't want to get into a MN argument debate about it.
