Oh bugger, my administrator has just resigned. Poop. What a mean boss I am.

I love leek and potato soup, twas the starter at our wedding. Yum.

TillyScoutsmum · 30/05/2008 13:05

Hello all .... Congrats to the new babies on the way We are a fertile bunch

Have been trying to sort out wedding dress for the last week (MIL has been staying with me so she's been looking after Til). Think I've found the one I want but can't decide whether to go for red or green (its not a "proper" wedding dress obviously)... Its so annoying because all the sample dresses are 10/12 and so you have to decide on a dress and order it, even though its way too small so can't really get a good idea of what it will look like in the right size. I could rant for ages..but won't

MKG · 30/05/2008 13:18

OK first my nipples hurt just thinking about your craziness SOH.

LG&T make the Leek and Potato soup and send some to me. I'm sick and need all the nourishment I can get.

I wanted to shoot dh last night. I haven't been feeling well at all (thinking upper respiritory infection). So he comes home from work and I left Mateo with him and said I was going to bed and wasn't feeling well. Well, he said, but I want to talk to you, and I said, "right now I don't want to talk to you . . I want to go to bed". So anyway about 30 minutes later he comes up to go to bed with Mateo so Mateo comes in grabs my face and says "Bake up Mama" (he's so cute) I hear dh laughing, then Cruz wakes up screaming and dh brings him to our room. Then dh starts talking about how he saw a snake today and it was black and did I think it was poisonous. I said, " I don't know anything about snakes" to which he told me I should know I'm from the area and should know the snakes from the area. I told him that so many people buy snakes as pets and throw them outside when they get too big it could be anything. He said, "It could have bit me and I might not be here now" to which I said, "at least I'd be ASLEEP"

I ask you, when he's sick I do everything to help him and keep the house quiet to he can rest, am I not owed that same courtesy?

Rant over

ShowOfHands · 30/05/2008 13:23

Oh isn't everybody a size 10/12 then? I remember that when wedding dress shopping. They also make all dresses for giants and short arses like me just looked like a chubby dwarf in tulle. Can I just say red. Wear red. Red. Red. Love red. Red is the best colour. Green is bad luck and not as brillig. And er... red.

Mathilda has developed her first attachment to an inanimate object. The thing she cuddles when distressed, strokes idly for comfort, carries everywhere.

It's a fecking saucepan.

My head does not itch, it bothers me not.

Don't listen to LG&T, am not pretty. Am a chubby dwarf in patchwork.

MKG · 30/05/2008 13:49

LOL @ Saucepan!

That's great. At least you'll never have to worry about the dog chewing it up, how to clean it when it gets puked on, or her sucking the tail off. (My sister's kids' stuffed animals all have no tails because when she took the pacifiers away they sucked the tails off.)

largeginandtonic · 30/05/2008 14:10

Saucepans are rather good you know, particularly the orange Le Creuset ones. Heavy though.

MKG that sounds quite typical, i go to bed early here and dh still stomps up the stairs, turns lights on, brushes his teeth in our room (we have a sink in there)flops in to bed etc...It drives me BONKERS.

Soups was great, plenty left >

Yes Tilly red is the way to go ithink. Glad your mil is helping. I think red and turquoise look fab together, red dress and turquoise shoes.

She is pretty by the way.

LG&T dahlink, you were looking in a mirror methinks.

Does this soup have lumps because I like lumps.

I always know where dd is because of the effort involved in lugging an orange le creuset pan. She's just dragged it to the fridge, put cheese and a yoghurt in it and carried on her merry way. I can hear "huff huff clunk yum yum clunk huff huff".

DH puts on his shirt noisily in a morning. Makes me very cross at 6am. He also opens the wardrobe no less than 17 times before he leaves for work. Now as far as I know it isn't a magic wardrobe, the contents don't change.

Pinkjenny · 30/05/2008 14:59

Ha ha, I think all of them do this. Dh always has a very noisy coughing fit in the bathroom too. Grrrr. Go to work, man, and leave me in peace!

MKG · 30/05/2008 15:04

SOH is he trying to get to Narnia maybe?

I never hear dh in the morning not his alarm nothing. But when he comes home late from work on Wed and Thurs, he makes it his business to wake eveyone (except for Cruz) up.

Pinkjenny · 30/05/2008 15:16

I miss L so much during the day. I don't want to work anymore. Is winning the lottery an option, do you think? Running off with a rich man?

SKYTVADDICT · 30/05/2008 15:18

I feel the same PJ - I have actually bought two euromillions lucky dips for tonight and I know the odds of winning are stupid!

Pinkjenny · 30/05/2008 15:19

Its worth a try Sky. I never expected to feel like this at all! It seems to get worse the older she gets as well!

ShowOfHands · 30/05/2008 15:23

You're better women than me. I couldn't go back.

SKYTVADDICT · 30/05/2008 15:23

It will PJ and they do notice more I'm sad to say - I have felt so guilty leaving the DDs with my mum this week - the thing is they know it and play on it a bit! They also have the cheek to tell me its not fair! I know its not fair - life isn't fair and I HAVE to go to work which isn't fair!!! It is worse when they are sick too. I am praying against all odds that DD2 doesn't get the pox before next Wednesday when I can stay off with her.

MKG · 30/05/2008 15:25

I'll confess I really want a third so I can stay home. I don't care how poor we are I just want to be with them all the time.

Pinkjenny · 30/05/2008 15:29

Its horrid. I hate it. I try to convince myself that she really likes it at nursery, but I know she loves being at my mum's.

That's one of the reasons I want another.

MKG · 30/05/2008 15:33

OH PJ don't be sad. When my sil (who watches the boys for me) came for Cruz's birthday he started to cry and looked at me. I think he thought I was going away.

I want a third because most people won't say no to watching two, but three is a little much.

ShowOfHands · 30/05/2008 15:34
Sad
Pinkjenny · 30/05/2008 15:39

Oh MKG that's heartbreaking. L doesn't give me a second glance when she is with my mum ( wonder why, maybe its because my mum indulges her ALL day), but she does cry when I leave her at nursery. Only on the first day, never the second. But that little face when I go and pick her up, it just lights up, as if to say, 'mummy!', then she pats me on the back and cuddles in, looking at all the other kids with a big smug expression.

MKG · 30/05/2008 15:50

Oh yes Grandma is a different story though. When she comes in they both get excited. Last night when I came home from work, my mom was coming back from taking the boys out and Cruz actually cried when she gave him to me. Mateo always cries when she leaves though. She has a really special bond with both of them.

Pinkjenny · 30/05/2008 15:52

OOOh what's happened to the faces? They've changed!

MKG - L is the same with my mum too. They have a huge mutual appreciation society going on.

MKG · 30/05/2008 15:56

What are you talking about, how have the faces changed?

Pinkjenny · 30/05/2008 15:58

The little smiley faces thing - am I seeing things? They've changed.

Seriously, am I seeing things?

(And I do know how many times I say 'seriously', because my RL friends - yes I do have them - point it out a lot)
