Couldn't think of anything contraversial!

Thanks everyone. ABs seem to be working already.

DD1 is soooooooo excited. We just got her these school shoes. V expensive but as they are her first pair I let her choose.

EustaciaVye · 13/08/2008 14:17

Castles - That town is lovely. We planted a tree in the park there when my Granny died as it is where they lived. I was only about 6 I think.

castlesintheair · 13/08/2008 15:24

Those are sweet EV. DD1 is allowed to have red or navy shoes so guess which colour we are getting. Thanks for the reminder!

That's a nice idea - about the tree. My Gma moved out of town some years ago to a tiny village - the house next door to my uncle in fact! Small world though eh? Now do you say Shroosbury or Shrowsbury?!!

I buy bras in M&S Indith. If they are big enough for me (an F on a good day, a G on a bad ) there should be lots of choice for you surely?

Is anyone else bored today? This weather is awful. I don't really notice it in the term-time.

EustaciaVye · 13/08/2008 15:30

I say Shroosbury.

Thankfully DH bought DD1 a jigsaw while he was away so that, and the new doll from her shoes, are keeping her busy.

DD2 just woke up and in front of Peppa so also happy

castlesintheair · 13/08/2008 15:40

I say it the other way

My DCs are never bored. It's just me who is. Maybe I should join that thread you linked to the other day EV ...

MARGOsBeenPlayingWithMyNooNoo · 13/08/2008 15:55

Poor EV - Cystitis is very painful, you don't know what to do with yourself when you have it.

BTW - I posted on that thread.

BP - I inwardly cringe when dh dresses th girls. I feel your pain

Indith · 13/08/2008 19:18

Humph Castles, our M&S don't even stock maternity! Plus their bras just don't quite fit me. It must be said that I am a funny shape and have trouble finding them at the best of times. Have always had more luck in France.

EustaciaVye · 13/08/2008 20:07

Indith - try Bravissimo. Nursing Bras and soft cup bras

MARGOsBeenPlayingWithMyNooNoo · 13/08/2008 21:33

EV - I think the nursing bra pictures are really cheesy, do they think we wouldn't know where the clips are if they don't get the models to pose looking knowingly at the "added special features"? lol

OP posts:
LenniEd · 13/08/2008 22:02

I like bravissimo - they fit nicely. Castles, I am now a FF cup, am fed up of boobs. Used to be a C/D cup before DD was born, and a DD after, I can't bear to think what I'll get to this time. As long as I don't stay there too long, otherwise I'll be devastated. Indith I can't believe you are a 36 back?? I am a 36, and am a damn sight broader than you are I'm sure.

Olihan · 13/08/2008 23:20

I agree with Bravissimo, Indith. VV good for large, odd shaped norks, im(firsthand)e.

Castles, I say Shrosebry - it's about 30 - 40 mins from here so if you want a place to lay your head rather than doing it in a day then let me know.

EV, sympathies on the cystitis, my dsm gets in constantly and is in agony until the ABs kick in. Hope you're feeling much better.

Am LOLing at the dh/dc debacles. - glad it's not just mine. I remember when I was childminding, my mindee turned up in purple vertical striped trousers and a pink horizontally striped t'shirt. I didn't want to leave the house in case someone thought I'd dressed her like that . Needless to say, her dad had dressed her that morning .

BP, dd and ds2 are both confirmed dummy addicts. Ds2's habit has also become markedly worse in recent weeks but the dummy fairy worked wonders on getting rid of dd's a few months back so I'm not stressing. I asked on here about them affecting speech development and moondog (SALT) said there was a recent study showing that they had no impact on it, so I stopped worrying.

Indith, ds2 is also struggling with canines again. So far nothing is showing through but the poor mite appears to be in real pain sometimes and the nappies are something else. I'm having to rinse every pooey one out under the tap before I can even think about washing them [bleurgh].

Elibean · 14/08/2008 10:06

Dodgy nappies here, too - but dd2 doesn't even have her two bottom teeth (not the front ones, the ones next to them, whatever they're called?!) let alone canines. Teeth, eh, trouble when they come, trouble when they go.

SUN at last - due to vanish, but hurrah

Elibean · 14/08/2008 10:10

EV, how's your cystitis today?

All this talk of bras and bladders has made me think of my neice (a Bravissimo fan) has had about six UTIs in the past five months She's got spina bifida, and is self-catherizing, so at risk...but even so, its getting mad. It always ends up as kidney infections, and I'm quite worried about her. maybe I should post in Health and see if anyone knows a brilliant SB doctor...

Olihan · 14/08/2008 12:18

Your poor niece, Eli. That sounds horrid, there must be something they can do to stop them recurring so frequently.

We're off to Scotland in the morning for a few days to stay with friends. I'm meeting up with expatinscotland on Monday which I am bizarrely nervous about - it's like a blind date!

EustaciaVye · 14/08/2008 13:09

Eli - that sounds awful! I'm much better thanks

Indith · 14/08/2008 13:35

Ouch Eli your poor niece.

Oli how exciting, I love meeting people Have pretty regular ones around here, should be seeing Kiskidee on Saturday. Funny how different people can be to how they come across online.

Bravissimo....I'd feel all out of place! I'm not usually anywhere near Bravissimo standard of norkage . Going ot involve yet another trip to Newcastle.

Lennied, daft I know but a 36. Usually 32...lady in John Lewis says I still measure in at a 34 but most 34 backs seem to be too tight. Def can't fit into any of my old maternity bras which were a 34, hence wearing nursing ones. There goes my determination to remain in nice bras through pregnancy in an attempt to keep feeling good about norks. Why is it that maternity and nursing bras are cut so high and so many maternity clothes are cut low?

castlesintheair · 14/08/2008 15:20

Oooh you should be nervous Oli, she seems very scary to me. No, seriously she is one of the people who posts a lot that I really like and nearly always agree with. So she must be fantastic
Thanks for the offer btw. I may well take you up on it. Have a lovely time. We are heading to Scotland too on Monday and I cannae wait. Sorry can't help myself sometimes!

Indith I went from a 32 to a 38 after having DCs. Apparently it's something to do with your ribcage expanding during pg. And being a lard arse, in my case.

MARGOsBeenPlayingWithMyNooNoo · 14/08/2008 18:34

Oli - just don't get on to the subjects of brazillians

I've seen a few potential purchases on the Bravissimo site. We have a Rigby & Peller opened in Bluewater shopping centre so may have a look in there. (will apply for an advance on my mortgage beforehand though - mighty pricey)

your poor niece Eli

babypowder · 14/08/2008 20:47

If any of you heading to Scotland are going up the east coast, do drop in!

I've just accepted that I'm never going to get back into the beautiful bras I bought after I had DD1. I can't believe how different my shape is after DD2 I look at picture of myself 4 years ago and I was thin, well proportioned - and now just really not.

Sorry about your niece, Eli

I wish someone had told me about dummies years ago. DD2 is happily asleep, not needing to be nursed and held for hours. And the 4:00 - 5:30 am feed has ceased. Bliss I sent DH out to buy more today! (I wonder if they'd work on DD1 as well?)

Elibean · 14/08/2008 21:05

re Bravissimo. Although, come to think of it, I might be Bravissimo size these days - do they do DDs?! To think I used to be a 34B pre LOs....

Thanks, re neice, have posted on the Health section and will go see.

I agree with Castles, expat talks a lot of sense and I like her posts - have fun! Though also know what you mean re blind date - I've met several friends from online groups in the past and its always a bit weird/nerve-wracking. You weren't nerve wracking, Castles, of course

Olihan · 14/08/2008 23:17

Yep, you'll be ok there, Eli. I went for a fitting there a few weeks back and was paranoid that they were going to say I was too small for them . In the end they measured me as a 36F .

Elibean · 15/08/2008 19:15

Oli

F though....would still feel paranoid with DDs....

LenniEd · 15/08/2008 21:47

No, you'll be fine Eli - they always seem to measure you bigger in the cup anyhow so you'll probably come out the owner of some G cups or something . I went in a D, came out a FF - DHs face when I got home was a picture... cat... cream....

Elibean · 15/08/2008 22:07

now I don't dare, I'm still reeling at being a DD (and dh's expression be blowed, I can't cope with more!).

babypowder · 16/08/2008 09:02

Oh the joys of parenthood. Snotty noses, unseasonal colds and nit combs all round (not that we have head lice yet, but apparently 'everyone' has them, and better to be safe than sorry) It's not all glamour, eh
