Greedy- I feel pretty good really was a bit sicky today but nothing like with Anabel when I was puking every day.

I had a lovely day today took Anabel swimming which makes Anabel sleep so well Then left her at her as DH was putting in our new kitchen today and meet my dear friend for a lovely long lunch.

Our kitchen is now in and looking good and tomorrow we will have a big tidy up and take a load of stuff to the tip.

SparklyGothKat · 26/09/2008 22:05

had a lovely day yesterday, Callum got a wooden walker from us, and he spent all day walking up and down the living room with it. He is getting daring and keeps letting go and trying to walk, manages it some times, other times, he falls lol!!!

Still can't believe he is 1

RGPargy · 26/09/2008 22:23

Greedy - 30 years and no war?? Wowsers, he was lucky! lol I too have to now time my showers to the minute! Ellie will never sleep at home for more than 30-40 minutes (but sleeps at MILs for 1.5-2 hours!! ) so i know that during that window i have to either (a) do housework or (b) have a shower. It's a no brainer really - you should see the state of my bathroom!

Febes - aww i still haven't taken Ellie swimming yet. I'm far too embarrassed to step out in my cozzie Glad your kitchen is done. i'm so jealous! I would love to have a new kitchen one day!

Sparkly - Bless Callum for being daring! I cant believe that Ellie actually pulled herself up on the table this afternoon and was suddenly Fingers McFingerton and trying to grab EVERYTHING that was on the table!! Time for a rethink and some extra childproofing, i think!

RG - He was in Germany when the Falklands War was on and they didn't send anyone from Germany. He served in Northern Ireland but before it turned too nasty. By the time the Gulf War came along he was too long in the tooth LOL. He was v.lucky and had a great time travelling etc but he wanted to go into battle - he said it was what he had trained for.

Febes - glad you not feeling too bad. Morning sickness is pants. I didn't get it too bad.

Sparkly - hasn't he come such a long way though and I bet you can't imagine life without those GORGEOUS big eyes and that cheeky grin?

Greedy - sounds like he was very lucky!!

Loopy - Oh no, poor DD3!! Do you think that DH was stressed and DD3 picked up on it?? The poor little mite (and poor DH!). Perhaps she is not used to being in the house without you but is used to being without you in a different environment, IYKWIM??

Ah right, that says it all really! Sounds like he is deffo in the WRONG frame of mind for a calming environment for all THREE DDs! Poor DD3 with the teething. How many teeth has she got now? DD has only got 2 at the moment but i'm sure she'll soon spoil the fun and get some more!

Brave Loopy!!! I want to get a sling for my new bub as I don't want to get a double buggy if I can help it. I am getting a Kari Me my friend has got one and its so cool.

jetgirl · 30/09/2008 20:47

Firstly - Happy Belated Birthday Callum!

loopy - I have the arnica cream! I have tried the travel cot with William but he hates it as he can't pull himself up to stand in it so I think it may be a playpen after all. More money to spend...William also cries if I'm not in the house, he associates it with me being around I guess. he's perfectly happy at nursery.

febes - William still wakes a couple of times a night - knackering isn't it? Last night he made it from 8pm to 3.40am without waking, which is a long time for him, but I don't think he'll be as good tonight, he's had a temperature today and been really cuddly. I think it may be another tooth. I have a double buggy - when William got bigger I found it very tiring carrying him and pushing the single buggy, it's much easier with the double - and there's more space for shopping!

LOM - that is very funny maybe I need the babykeeper!

Greedy - I think it's a separation anxiety thing at this age, hopefully Adam will grow out of it soon - I'm praying William will!

RGPargy · 01/10/2008 16:25

I've only once or twice tried to put DD on my back in my babyhawk. The first time was a disaster and the second time i actually managed to do it by myself! The only thing that worries me about putting DD on my back is that if (heaven forbid!) she were to suddenly fall out the bottom of the carrier (practically impossible, i think but i'm still paranoid about it!) there'd be no way i could catch her, whereas if that were to happen when DD was on my front, i'd be able to grab her. Does that make sense? Please reassure me that my worries are completely unfounded and that falling out of them is impossible?!!!

Loopy - wow, thanx for that video, it's EXACTLY what i needed! I was doing it slightly wrong but now i've seen that i might give it another go.

I cant believe your little DD is walking already!! Your DD and mine were both born on 5th December but Ellie's nowhere near ready to walk just yet! And so many teeth!!!!!

Febes · 03/10/2008 08:53

Loopy- Thanks for the video so cool. I hope that by the time LO is too big to carry on front DD will be walking a bit. When do they not need a buggy from? I guess it depends on the distance and time of day etc. I refuse to be one of the mums I see at school bring their 5 year old in a push chair to school!!! With a dummy in their mouths!!! Whats that about?? Maybe I'm too quick to judge.
I can't believe DD3 is walking so early she cleary is trying to keep up with her big sisters.

Anabel is distroying of lounge at the moment so I better go and attempt some cleaning before she goes too far.

RGPargy · 03/10/2008 10:50

Febes - I think you just have to gradually wean them off the pushchair and let them walk for longer and longer distances. It's all trial and error at first i think! Just be prepared for the possibility of a piggy back or a carry lol.

Cant believe some mums bring their kids to school in a BUGGY????!! and with a dummy too?? I think i'd be quick to judge too!

Loopy - what about a secondhand one on Ebay? What age do you carry your LOs to?

OP posts:
Febes · 03/10/2008 15:05

Loopy I think the buggy board is a great idea and I think you can get a little chair to perch on the front of the buggy too though not sure how exactly it with work. So I think I'll carry LO till 6/8 months in sling and then use buggy board. I think it will be fine. I'll keep my eyes out for a dirt cheap double maclaren at a car boot sale but only one that folds up to nothing. It could be good for shopping trips but keep the buggy for long walks as its more cormfy to ride in and to push. Thanks for all the advice any more tips for 2 under 2 are greatfully received!!

Hey everyone

sorry to have been away for so long, we moved house and was without internet for 8 flippin weeks, there is no way i can catch up so am hoping that you and LO are all well, i can't believe their first birthdays are upon us

DS1 and Ollie are both lovely, DS1 started his new nursery, 5 afternoons and loves it, though at the moment my life seems to consist of russhing from one place to another. Ollie is full on, into everything and on everything, walking along furniture but not quite independently. He is such a happy easygoing little boy

Have both their birthdays coming up in 4 weeks, so am in a bit of puzzle as to whether i should have party for DS1 and invite his class from nusery, or just take him and couple of friends somewhere, party wld be nice but i'm guessing these soft play places are quite expensive but will need to look into. I am now officially unemployed got my redundo, and not missing work at all, i have been thinking about maybe returning to work as Teaching Assistant so will start looking into. DO any of you girls do this job ????

will now try and log on at least once a week

xxxx

Greedygirl · 05/10/2008 21:08

Hi everyone and welcome back Lizzy!

Haven't had chance to catch up properly - now Adam is on the move I also seem to be perpetually on the move! And the room where our PC is is rubbish for moving babies, I wish I had a laptop.

Loopy - how on earth does the dentist manage to look in a baby's mouth, let alone show you a molar coming through?! I think Adam has been suffering with his back teeth, he has been a bit off colour, bit of a temp and rejecting most foods which is most unlike him!

Must go and do some washing-up before DH gets home, I also wish I had a dishwasher!!
