March 2007: Babies no longer: the road to Toddlerdom

1000 replies

MrLSG · 01/05/2008 22:50

MrsLSG suggested it, so her it is...

I've observed that calling Toby a baby isn't really accurate anymore, he (as one of the younger March babies - actually being born in April) is now toddlering (or is that staggering?), hence the title of the thread.

Sorry if Dad's aren't allowed around here: But Toby just loved joining in garden football with his big brother and dad earlier tonight.

hello all

lol@old git.

things are a little better here.i am still feeling fragile, but not as bad.

dh has been great

dd1 is still ot well, but she begged me to let her go to school this morning.i gave her paracetamol+ibuprofen and told her she must tell the teacher if she feels ill.ds1,on the other hand, was very annoyed that his temperature was normal this morning

uh oh,babies are fighting

kittywise · 11/06/2008 17:48

Glad you are feeling a bit better today Diva and that dh is being a little treasure!

Foxy I know what you mean about the dh/kids situation, it's a tricky one isn't it?

Lol @ your spaniel/elephant ears. Mine sad little boobies look more like mouse ears

fitfox · 11/06/2008 17:55

Kitty - even thoug I am not getting anything out of the relationship, Ifeel I kind of owe it to them to put up with it - or rather try my best to make it good and then if he buggers off (which is what I suspect he is planningto do) at least I know I've done my best IYKWIM

Oh Dear - I just made an embarassing Freudian slip

I collected DS1 after school and was sitting on a bench in the playground. DS1's friend came up to me and said:

"Can DS1 come to my house to play now?"

The friend's Mum was standing right in front of me, chatting to me (she is really nice).

She has a terrible case of seperated stomache muscles, so her tummy sticks out.

Her tummy was directly in front of my face.

I said, in a nice clear voice:

"Yes, that's OK with me. But have you asked your Tummy?"

His Mum didn't say anything but she looked really hurt

kittywise · 11/06/2008 18:46

foxy
I have a friend who is always, always putting her feet in it!

Divastrop · 11/06/2008 20:49

foxy-you should have blown your nose and pretended to have a terrible cold!

i dont think i could stay in a relationship i felt was over in my heart

dd1's temperature was 39.4 when she got home.i shouldnt have let her go in

fitfox · 11/06/2008 21:30

Diva I don't know that it is over. We've been married for 17 years so a lot has been invested in it too....

fitfox · 11/06/2008 21:30

...hope your DD is OK - did you get temperture down?

Divastrop · 11/06/2008 21:38

fox-thats what i mean, you arent staying with him for the children if you still love him,are you?if the love is still there then its worth working at it

dd's temp was down to 37.9 before she went to bed.i gave her 4 spoons of calpol as i thought she would be less likely to throw it up than a tablet.

fitfox · 11/06/2008 22:04

Diva glad the eds ar working for your DD

Yes I guess you are right - I do still love th bugger...

Divastrop · 11/06/2008 22:09

kitty-i missed your post about healing etc(due to my head being up my arse).is it very expensive?i would love to try something like that but im afraid to phone to ask how much it costs in case they are con artists or i scream 'HOW MUCH???' phone

Divastrop · 11/06/2008 22:11

down the phone even

foxy-17 years is a long time.i have no idea what its like to be with somebody that long!

kittywise · 11/06/2008 22:35

Diva, I've known this woman for a while and have gone to her on and off for a few years.
I mentioned to her recently that I wanted to try past life regression, she had never done it before and was keen to investigate so I was a guinea pig so to speak so it didn't cost a penny!!

You have to be able to trust the person doing a healing on you otherwise it just won;'t work, but if you do find someone then the experience is wonderful.

Glad your dd is better.

Rosylily · 12/06/2008 10:37

Foxy you terrible woman! rofl at 'have you asked your Tummy?' oh no!!!

Diva it would be great if you good find an affordable healer to work with.

Piffle I don't know how you have coped with all the pain. I'm so glad it is mostly gone now.

lol at elephants ears and mouse ears

Rosylily · 12/06/2008 10:38

or perhaps could find....

bethoo · 12/06/2008 10:43

Still here though missed so much!
congrats Laidback, i am expecting dc2 in October!
my cm told me the other day that Haydne had been 'horrible' was slightly put out at thsi remark as i think it was rather negative and do not approve of people making comments like that! is it just me being hormonal! it is not my fault that for some reason he does nto sleep athers, i get the grumpy child at home who sleeps all afternoon, eats tea then goes back to bed so so much for our quality time together!! Grumble over!

Rosylily · 12/06/2008 11:31

Bethoo I wouldn't like a cm saying that either. As long as the context is that she is good with him and likes him. Otherwise I would be looking for a different minder!

kittywise · 12/06/2008 11:32

bethoo, "horrible" is not a good comment and I would be worried. There are so many others words she could have used, but if you are happy otherwise?
Glad everything's going well with your pg

Divastrop · 12/06/2008 11:39

bethoo-@CM saying a baby had been horrible.how can a child who isnt even old enough to have any concept of right and wrong be 'horrible'?grumpy or whingy, maybe.

i have never even heard a primary school teacher refer to a child in such negative terms.

rosy-have you tried any sort of healing or hypnotherapy?

bethoo · 12/06/2008 12:29

my thoughts exactly, i think it was becasue he was tired so was a bit whingey and can get a bit clingy, at home when he has a nap i usually let him sleep on my bed and i usually lie with him til he sleeps. yes i know i should nto but i do enjoy watching him and i get a little nap too!
this pregnancy is so much easier than with ds as i forget half the time. i feel great and apart from the protrusion at the front i would not even remember half the time. but so far i have not been diagnosed with GD or aneameia. i dont know if it is jsut me but i feel as though i have hardly seen the mw, twice in fact! next app is next week at 24 weeks then every 4 weeks! it is flying by! nto looking forward to the birth as still remmeber the first labour!!

Piffle · 12/06/2008 16:31

bethoo you'll be fine! This one will pop out like you were shelling peas...
lol at elephants ears... My norkage more resembles elephants testicles. Big elephants...
kitty my mum went rebirthing and past life regressions... She also briefly contemplated lesbianism, wore pink dungarees and burned her bras oh and walked out on my dad....
so watch yourself!!!!

Finn is climbing god give me strength and eyes in the back of my head.
15mths ago he was a little mewling newborn. Wtf happened huh?

kittywise · 12/06/2008 16:50

lol @ testicles, oh the image that pops into my mind. Piffle, they're not grey and wrinkled are they?
Ooh I used to have a pair of pink dungarees, must have a look and see if I've still got them, luckily I don't need a bra ( mouse's ears), so that's one step out of the way, I'm working on the last step < must try harder>.
Actually I spend most of my time pretending I can't see what's going on regarding Ronnie.
He's not that into climbing thank heavens, probably because he's permanently attached to my mousey boobs.

Infact I reckon he'll be a retard as he's done little else other than suck and whine these last 14 months (sigh).

I'm feeling so broody, give me a slap

Piffle · 12/06/2008 17:56

broody? You are a feckin nutter missus!!!!!
Finn just fell off Emmys chair now has humdingdr bruise on his cheek. Honestly I dare not leave the house he is so black and blue ss would rip him off me in the street.
dp has made an appt for the snip for best but such an infinite sadness to know there will be no more babies for us.
oh well back to picking up small soggy bits of broccoli off thefloor...

Divastrop · 12/06/2008 21:12

pmsl@elephants testicles

i cant see a link between past life regression and bra-burning lesbo-feminism myself.i havent worn dungarees since 1984 (my mother was sooo cruel) and i havent not worn a bra since 1989.i suppose my boobs somewhat resemble the scrotum of a man with an enlarged prostate.

so,kitty, did you discover that in a past life you had 27 children?

Rosylily · 13/06/2008 14:18

my cat has disappeared

Am miserable about the cat.

Diva I had a lovely healing experience years ago at a healing service I was singing at. I went up with a twitch in my eye that I'd had for 6 months. It was like having an internal shower of light. I felt as light as a feather afterwards. My twitch didn't immediately go away, it did after a week or two though.

off to mope about the cat.......
