I just let her get on with it... only joking

cazboldy · 29/04/2008 11:50

we do have a gas guzzling 4x4, but whatever I had would have to be big....

StealthPolarBear · 29/04/2008 11:53

Thanks everyone. Still feeling crap at the moment really pissed off
What's up with Dippy? hope she's OK

Pesha · 29/04/2008 12:08

SPB - i done have the pooey nappy thing too.

Caz - my friend was getting through about £60+ a week on diesel for her old people carrier thing, sold it and bought a galaxy people carrier and has halved that still doing same amount of driving. Do you think there could be a fault with the car making it use so much?

Whats up with Dippy

NL - glad 1st day went ok.

GM - never done dream feed sorry.

Bum forgotten other things I was going to say

trying to post really quickly as have things to do!

Took D to hospital this morn for follow up on his weight loss problems. Hes now 22lb and 73cm (I think!) so averaging out around 50th line! Still expecting him to drop a bit again when he gets on the go properly. Hes done exactly same as other 2 only bit more extremely. Anywya now signed off from hospital which good

Have to go tidy and then try and decide what car I want or what cars I want to go and look at least, theres so much choice I'm getting to the point where I just think fuck it, I'll walk everywhere!!

Doobydoo · 29/04/2008 12:38

My heating is oil too.300 euros a month don't always get same amount depending on priceWouldn't mind if it made the house tropical but it dosen't.We will prob move round August at end of tenancy.Need cheaper rent as well.

PillockOfTheCommunity · 29/04/2008 12:48

Hi folks, popping in whilst at work again [naughty]

SPB, I echo those of others. Being a parent is the most difficult job in the World - nothing can prepare you for it. Second time around is easier if it is any consolation. T is so loved by you.

What's up with Dippy??

Caz, £90 a week!

Hi to everyone else - sorry for brief post.

Don't get me started on the cost of living. Seriously questioning living in this Country.

Back later. x

cazboldy · 29/04/2008 12:57

MIL OMG Poor Dippy - cannot imagine how hellish that must be...... nothing on earth would make me go with mine

Pesha - who knows? maybe? thanks for the thought....will speak to dh

mammyjo · 29/04/2008 12:57

Hi SOL My dh is frequently talking about emigrating, due to the cost of living here. He has got into his head that he wants to go to Australia to live. The idea is nice, but I am really not sure if I would be able to actually go iykwim.

StealthPolarBear · 29/04/2008 13:05

hi everypne
haven't been able to get on this thread for ages - have been posting on others but this one wouldn't load
T's results came back from docs - "normal, no further action" so have made an appointment (was due a follow up anyway) to ask wtf does that mean? If his urine sample is 'normal' why is he on ABs, and do we need further investigatoin.

mammyjo · 29/04/2008 13:18

Agree SPB, you definitely need to go and have a chat about things. How is T doing? Does he seem better on the antibiotics? Did you get to see the full report, just wondered whether anything was grown in his sample, even if it has been reported as normal.

StealthPolarBear · 29/04/2008 13:29

he seems absolutely fine now - completely back to normal and hasn't been sick for days. We stopped giving him calpol the day before yesterday and he is no longer getting a temp.
So if that's the case - that would imply it was an infection...No, don't get to see full report, just "normal, no further action".
Thanks for asking, it's reassuring talking this through with you

mammyjo · 29/04/2008 13:40

Which antibiotics did you get for him? Just wondered whether you are right and that he had an infection somewhere. If they had given him broad spectrum antibiotics then they could have got rid of something else that was lurking! Glad to hear he is better anyway

StealthPolarBear · 29/04/2008 13:52

They were broad spectrum abs as they didn't know which bit to treat. So now I'm worried that the infection was somewhere else and will recur - apparently that's the worry.
it was trimethoprim

mammyjo · 29/04/2008 14:16

Hopefully after a full course of antibiotics the infection will clear up, wherever it may have been. Still worth a visit to the GP though, for your own peace of mind if nothing else

StealthPolarBear · 29/04/2008 14:20

Yes, I think so.Really hope we can get back to normal - including sleeping!!!!!!

Doobydoo · 29/04/2008 14:24

Well,as i am sure you know that is one of the abs used to treat utis.and if it cleard up with them that is good.I would definitely go to docs and talk it through with them if you are worried.I s your doctor approachable like that?
T may have hasd it for some time which could be why nothing was detected as it may have been starting to go on its own[ifyswim]
M has had 3 lots of abs because his ears keep getting infected. It is a worry but T may not have another uti or he may[it is quite common in babies and toddlers].The best thing is to get the abs asap[though i do hate using them too much and was lucky with ds1 as he only had one lot which he wouldn't take!]With uti, there is often a temp, vomiting, grumpiness and going off food etc,so fluids and abs really.
I t is totally nerve wracking having a first baby.I am much more laid back with M though still panic at times.
I do feel for you but I don't want you to be so hard on yourself,or I will have to get the ferry over and sort you out!!!!!!!!!!

StealthPolarBear · 29/04/2008 14:25

aaargh
Not being hard on myself, just feeling like everythiung's getting on top of me...not even sure where to start!

Doobydoo · 29/04/2008 14:25

And a few decent nights sleep will do you the world of good. The world looks a different place after some decent kip

Doobydoo · 29/04/2008 14:27

Will look in Later.
Take care all.xxx

Lol at M getting his teeth into some culture

StealthPolarBear · 29/04/2008 14:34

BYE dooby, even

mammyjo · 29/04/2008 15:06

Dooby, lol at getting the ferry over to sort SPB out!!

SPB, I am sure that you will feel much better once the sleep thing is sorted out too. Ds finally started sleeping at around 11 months and we used controlled crying as he was a total nightmare. He would wake screaming every 45 minutes all night. I became like a walking zombie as I was just so tired, and he only wanted me not dh so I was always the one with horrendously disturbed sleep. When I look back I really wonder how the hell I got through it.
Things will improve, and you will look back as I have eventually, I know it just doesn't feel like it just now. Lots of love and sleep vibes to you xxxx

Pesha · 29/04/2008 17:56

SPB - sorry you're having such a tough time with T atm No advice I'm afraid but what MJ and Dooby have said sounds like good stuff to me!

Ok I need some help making a decision! But only from petrolheads people who like cars a lot!

We should get settlement through this week so need to decide which car I want. Have almost definitely decided on Audi A3, was looking at A4s but think I'd prefer an A3. So I have seen 2 I really like -

1 is an 03, 52 plate older model 1.9 TDI sport 130 (thats bhp), 81000 miles, half leather seats, 17" alloys, black, shiny and lurvely!!

The other is the newer model sportback 05 plate 1.9 TDI, looks much nicer than the old model, lower insurance costs, fuel consumption and tax BUT base model so no lovely extras, not even a CD player , and has 140000 miles on the clock. But if it didnt have such high mileage it'd be another couple grand at least. I will be doing very low mileage in it so after a few years would prob even out anyway iyswim. Both have FSH.

I cant decide!! Its looks and cheapness VS low mileage and sportiness and FUN!!

DS1 is watching ad for Wateraid looking very sad and just said 'Mummy can we go there and give them some water', bless him I'm all tearful now.
