no, he is very sweet but just not quite right for me IYSWIM, I think we'll stay friends though

I haven't really mentioned this one much, it's a bit complicated, he's someone from work, but we'll see how it goes and I'll talk about him when I can
(Pesha met him at the weekend though!)

and now I'm off to do some work. I finished early on Friday and brought a report home with me to do, then the disaster that was access visit happened and I didn't get report done, and what with my impromptu trip to see Pesha, I still haven't done it

Night all!

Well, I discovered a large box about 80% full of magazines that are more than 10 years old in the "spare" room - the one we need to clear out for D. Ones I don't want or expect to read, which is good - they can be taken away with our recycling on Wednesday morning.

Good night to anyone still up, I guess.

oooggs · 29/04/2008 07:18

morning

sounds promising ellie

Erin up at stupid o'clock 6.22am

Jack up in the night

shattered and back to work tomorrow - shouldn't have had that wine I blame sol

geordieminx · 29/04/2008 07:29

Hey oooggs - C was up at 6.35...although this is a marked improvement on 5am which was becomig a theme before easter.

Quickie - does anyone still dream feed? C gets 8oz at 6.30pm and is in bed asleep before 7. Dp usually gives him a dream feed at 12 when he comes to bed - some nights he wont take anymore than 1oz, although last night he took 6oz and then woke at 6.30 which is normal for him. Ideally I would like to drop the dream feed - although he usually starts whinging at 12.30 automatically now, but I would rather give it than have him awake at 5 every morning agian.... any thoughts?

Sexonlegs · 29/04/2008 07:52

Morning all.

Oooggs, cheeky chops! Same again tonight???

I have to say I woke up a tad dehydrated this morning!

GM, no help on the dream feed front. We never got in to that.

Right, need to sort girls and then off to work.

Have a lovely day everyone.

Morning everyone
I wouldn't normally check on him that eary but we'd already had one disaster where I left him to cry, DH went to check on him 10 mins later and he had a dirty nappy.
At the moment I am sick of being a parent, which is awful because he's lovely. No, not sick of being a parent, just sick of everything going wrong. DH is off today, was up all night feeling achey.
POTC - when do we get to see photos of new man?

penpotEca · 29/04/2008 08:45

Lots of sympathy SPB. Sounds tough. xx

GG - we didn't do dreamfeeding, but lots of night feeding for a while (boob) coz he got used to having it. Had to do the whole night weaning. Took a lot couple of stressful nights, but I knew he could go through without a feed. maybe you need to do something similar??

POC-Cute pics of P&J!!

NL - glad it went ok.

forgotten everything else.

T slept until 7.45!!!! Bliss

Right need to drag myself off and do some work!

StealthPolarBear · 29/04/2008 09:05

Bramshott · 29/04/2008 09:29

Gmm - I stopped doing a dreamfeed for O at about 9 months, and luckily she is not an early riser.

SPB - {{hugs}}. I think you are far too hard on yourself! What happened with T and the nappy wasn't a disaster, just a "whoops, bad parenting" moment. Believe me, we have all done that! In fact several times I have put Orla down for a nap, and thought "gosh she's having trouble settling, never mind, it's tough, she needs a sleep" and then got her up 2 hours later to find that she'd dirtied her nappy before she went to sleep and it's now caked onto her bottom and needs sponging off . You are a fab, fab mummy and T is a very lucky little boy!

PillockOfTheCommunity · 29/04/2008 10:09

Dippy isn't having a great holiday so far, she needs hugs I think!

I'm at work, ooops!

OP posts:
cazboldy · 29/04/2008 10:56

oh no

What's the matter with Dippy?

cazboldy · 29/04/2008 11:00

I have just been to tesco and spent £93, which I am fairly happy with... I wanted to spend about £50....... but that is an improvement on needing milk and bread and spending £30

We are skint atm though....don't really know how come things are quite this bad

somehow I have to find the money to pay for the car going wrong, the new tyre, ds1's cricket subs, ds1's school trip (£60), a term of guitar lessons, ds2's birthday, and all the usual stuff......

and I wanted to paint my kitchen/dining room/ hallway, but will need 8 tins of paint, so that's out of the window!

Doobydoo · 29/04/2008 11:02

Thanks for that POTC..Will check it out.
SPB...Please don't be so hard on yourselfI have done the same thing with M.
I think you are knackered.I t will get better honest.M has been a right whinge pants the last few days.He was getting some teeth but think it was the SMA Progress. He insistedon doing things which would result in him falling, banging head and screamingHe slept dreadfully last night and I ended up speaking in my deep scary voice 'lie down and go to SLEEP'He did for 3 hours
Hope you ok Dippy[hugs]
It is absolutely piddling down here.

Doobydoo · 29/04/2008 11:05

Money[or lack of]can be a right PITA can't it?
I have worked out a very strict budget for the next 2 months to try and get us back on track.Hope We can stick to it.
Roll on dp's payday..it is like Mother Hubbards in our kitchen at the mo.Still am trying out some 'creative' cooking

mammyjo · 29/04/2008 11:36

I really think that the rising cost of petrol/gas/electricity is hitting a lot of people just now. My combined monthly gas and electric direct debit has gone up by £100 per month on what it had been a couple of years ago and I still live in and heat the same home, don't really do anything more than I used to but the cost is rocketing.
Also, petrol is getting so expensive and I know that that is definitely having an impact on our budget.
I also think that my weekly shopping is getting more and more expensive. I do my best to economise, but I still end up spending a flaming fortune! Money worries are so crap

Ruddy hell, F crying, back later xx

liath · 29/04/2008 11:42

Just to echo everyone, SPB - don't beat yourself up about things. You've been having a really stressful time with T being ill, bad nights, going back to work etc - you should be giving yourself loads of credit, especially for the stuff that's gone well like BF .

Sometime I think it's so much easier with the second one, I just let stuff go that would have had me stressing like mad with dd.

Sorry can't help much with the dream feed, Gm but I'm pretty sure we'd stopped dd's by this age. Ds has never taken one.

Sorry to hear Dippy's holiday isn't going well, I can sympathise having recently done center parcs with MIL.....

mammyjo · 29/04/2008 11:45

Back now! Potc, you giving hugs?! Surely not!! Lovely to hear you feeling happy, don't be afraid of feeling that way, enjoy it! I want to know who he is now, being my nosey self

Dippy, I know you probably won't read this but {{{{{{hugs}}}}}} to you. Hope you are ok and are now enjoying yourself

Elkie, hope D settled last night for you to get some sleep. Teeth can be a nightmare.

SPB, do not ever feel bad when times are tough. We have all been there, and I know I have thought those things too. It is really hard being a parent, and as Bramshott said, sometimes we trip up a bit, but you are a fab mum to T so don't ever forget that. I have done the same thing with the dirty nappies and napping before! Believe me, you are not the only one!

Very sorry to anyone I haven't mentioned. Hope you are all doing ok. See you later xx

cazboldy · 29/04/2008 11:47

we keep thinking of ways to cut our costs, but we have oil central heating and I spend £90 A WEEK on diesel mostly just doing the school run......

mammyjo · 29/04/2008 11:47

Hi Liath I would echo what you say about the second child, I am so much calmer with F. With ds I as a bag of nerves and very stressed most of the time!

cazboldy · 29/04/2008 11:48

anyway....I don't want to keep moaning

I will moan to dh later

mammyjo · 29/04/2008 11:48

Flipping heck caz, £90 a week! The cost of fuel is just getting out of hand isn't it.
