well hello

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Quick at least, Cat. I am glad people are looking after you. Don't be down on yourself - this could happen to any of us.

spots · 10/01/2005 17:08

By the way Kbaby I have made a couple of wedding cakes and so I know how much they cost to produce. How many tiers? I would think £250 was an absolute bargain if it's 3, pretty good for 2. Also depends on intricacy of decor.

Susi LOL at your verbal diarrhoea! 6 posts in a row!

Libb · 10/01/2005 19:01

Cat, let me know if there is anything I can do. I am off on Friday and Monday so if you want company then text me. I will leave Reuben at the childminders and come over.

Take care sweetpea, you have made a very hard decision and my thoughts are with you Hugs xx

SusiS · 10/01/2005 20:15

cat: if you need someone else to hold your hand or afterwards, let me know.

lucas had an upset tummy today and i didn't realise - slept 3 hours before lunch. was up just an hour for lunch and a poo. went down for another 2 hours. up with another full nappy. didn't want his dinner. but woke up in the bath; he just loves it!!! after that another 2 full nappies but he demolished his milk and after quite alot of top/bottom wind he was much brighter again and went to bed fairly easy! poor mite, hope he got rid of everything now

kbaby · 10/01/2005 20:37

Cat you have big hugs off me too. I can imagine it was a tough choice to make. I hope this week goes quickly for you. Ill be thinking of you.

Ok now dont laugh at my choice of cake. I want a three tier cake but not with tiers, more stacked on top of each other. I want the icing pale pink with Love Heart sweets stuck all over it. I saw it in cosmo bride and think its lush and unusual looking.
susis hope you dd's better

spots · 10/01/2005 20:41

sounds great kbaby. £250 sounds about right as you're saving them a lot of decorating hours! tho shopping around for quotes never hurt anyone...

cat82 · 10/01/2005 20:51

Hi everyone again,

Libb- thank you, if you're free on friday, it might be nice to meet up. I have a new moby no i will e mail you in a bit.

The sound of your cake cheered me up kababy love the love heart idea.

Susi- See! i told you our lo's were identical! Kiera has been running a temp of 39.2 all day and has been vomitting. On me, the carpet, the sofa, the walls....poor little thing. She's in bed now bless her but hasn't managed to keep any calpol down, so i may wake her to take her temp in a few hours. I was so worried, but the emergency doc i spoke to was wonderful, and reassured me.

sigh my life'll get better won't it?

Take care everyone

Bozza · 11/01/2005 11:05

Twiglett · 11/01/2005 11:24

Cat .. I missed that totally .. so sorry to hear this darling .. remember you are making the right decision for you and your family and only you and your DP can make that decision .. you have decided it is the right thing .. so that means it IS ... now you just need the strength to face the next few days ... and you will find it .. because you are an amazing woman

Poor old Keira. I can't believe the amount of stuff that's going around at the moment. Don't know if I'm just more aware now that there is a baby in the family.

Of course it will all get better Cat; things are always changing. You sound like a tough cookie in some ways but I know it's hellish at the moment. It would be a mad old world if things were hellish all the time. Law of averages if nothing else: it WILL get better.

Do we get any news of Egypt's weekend adventures - and her mum's - and her dd's?

Judd · 11/01/2005 14:13

Cat - only just seen this now, I've not been online for a few days. You WILL feel better, and you WILL get through this. I'll be thinking of you this week xxx

Judd · 11/01/2005 14:16

Spots - much respect for your impeccable spelling of the squits!

bongobum · 11/01/2005 14:20

don't have time to read whole thread (at work) is this thread for people having babies this May or who have had babies last may?

Judd · 11/01/2005 14:27

Hiya, we had our babies last May...so they're about 8 months old now. There is a thread for babies due this May if that's what you need - its probably in the pregnancy/ante natal section. If it is us you are after....well, hello!

cat82 · 11/01/2005 14:45

hi everyone

Kieras tempteture has come down thank god, and she slept like and angel all night long. We didn't give her any weetabix this morning, just her normal milk which she ate all of, then i tentativly gave her some lunch, which she also ate all of. I was getting really concerened about her temperature, so i'm very relieved!

Thanks for very much for your lovely words of support again, i had a rather wobbly moment yesterday as i was posting, things seemed to be getting TO DAMN MUCH!!! I feel a bit better today, having done alot of cleaning and also desperatly trying to help a freind through a very, very tough situation, it's good to concentrate on something else.

Lots of love
xxxx

egypt · 11/01/2005 15:15

cat, so sorry sweetie, but you are doing exactly the right thing by doing what is right for you and your family. i would want to do the same tbh. not so sure my dh would be quite as supportive however, so you are v v lucky xxxxxx {{{{{{{{{hugs}}}}}}}}}}}

well........prague, lovely, cobbly, warm!?!, boozy, full tummies and other nice things...mmmm

dd - woke twice the first night, no bitty! washing machine was needed to get back to sleep as nanny obv doesnt have equipment and dd couldnt accept the fact.

second night, woke, cuddled, slept .....happened 3 times

3rd night - yes nanny carried on even though we were home - woke at 1-45, cuddled, slept, woke 5, nappy change, slept, woke 745. looked at mummy and couldnt quite believe she was home. drank a bottle of 8oz - mummy couldnt quite believe this......now is thinking that bf is off the menu.

Oh Fantastic!
My babes is nearly 8 months too. Good to know I can bend some ears perhaps if needed? (very likely)

Bozza · 11/01/2005 15:36

Brilliant Egypt. sounds like it all went really well. Am quite Hope you get better nights from now on.

And bongobum there's plenty of ear-bending goes on round here so you will be in good company.

bongobum · 11/01/2005 15:47

thanks Bozza
Hi everyone.

cat82 · 11/01/2005 15:59

Welcome bongobum

xx

helsy · 11/01/2005 17:30

hello bongobum, great name! Croeso(a Welsh welcome).
Egypt glad Prague was good, sounds like she's on the bottle or both now then. Cat82 yes things get better and they will for you. dd1 says I'm a fairy like her, so I should know! Apparently you only see fairies if you believe in them. Ah, to be a child again.
Well, we move in four days and the house is a TIP.
Work is rubbish too, but dd2 started nursery on Monday and despite my tears she seems fine there and the workers in her room are nice and we know all of the other babies in there so that helps.
Chicken nuggets and chips (all ORGANIC!) for tea tonight, can't be a*d to cook.

Judd · 11/01/2005 17:43

egypt -have you tried letting her sleep all night long with some kind of white noise? DS has his daytime sleeps with a de-tuned radio next to him (to drown out the noise of DD yammering on downstairs!). It might be that it would help settle her, if the washing machine has helped before.

Libb · 11/01/2005 18:12

Welcome Bongobum! This is our 8th thread in aprox 8 months so we do like a matter. Just realised that most of our threads are approx. 500-600 posts long so we average 16-20 posts a day. Personally I blame GeorginaA .

And me, I keep messing up . . .

bongobum · 11/01/2005 18:14

Hope all will be ok Cat, I know we've no history but am sending you a big cyber hug x
