think there is a little part of me that is the soppy lady with her baby in the moonlight, vom vom. But I thought a lot of the stuff she says there made sense.

who needs gin and tonic?

(well I wouldn't mind if you're offering)

Libb · 06/01/2005 22:33

Happy birthday for tomorrow Kbaby, you littlun. (just kidding!). Have a great day xxx

Hi Everyone

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!!! Looks like you all had a good time.

I know I've not posted since last year I'm terrible, just been catching up on you all.

Oh where to start.

Libb I'm sorry to hear about your grandad.

Egypt How is your dad doing now? Is the trip to Prague still on?

Helsy glad to hear that your house move will be soon.

Spots glad to hear that dd is fine. I can remember checking on dd1 once when she was little and she was sleeping with her eyes open, it was a bit creepy. My granny told me that I used to do that when I was a baby as well.

Sorry to hear that our little May babies are hving trouble with eating and sleeping.
Dd2 has decided in the past week that it's fun to get up at 4.30am every morning on the dot! She rolls over in her sleep then can't roll back so wakes up and gets annoyed. I usually try to turn her back over and hope that she goes back to sleep but she's usually wide awake and is having none of it she's not hungry just awake and wanting to play. The only way to stop the angry screaming is to bring her into bed with me and Dh. She thinks it's great fun once she's in our bed to chant dadadada and pull his hair, the thing is he sleeps through it all! I'm the one lying there wide awake saying don't do that, be quiet, go to sleep.
I think she's waking because she's cold because once she's in our bed after chanting for dada and pulling his hair she cuddles down and goes to sleep it's all very strange and exhausting.

Eating is going well though today she managed to eat a whole tin of baby food, I usually only give her half and did the same today but she got so upset when it was finished that I gave her the rest and she ate the lot! And I managed to get her to drink some water out of her cup, wow. I will get round to doing home cooked meals eventually. Made her some lentil soup the other day using her non salt chicken stock, she loved it, I tasted it and thought it was very bland and needed salt, lol

I decided today that she was going to be a GF baby. Someone at work gave me the GF weaning guide book. It had come free with a baby magazine. So I was reading through it this morning and decided to try and follow a routine. Gave her an early lunch and put her down for a 2 hour nap, which only lasted an hour but it was a start. Going to try and stick to it though to see if I can get her to eat at more regular times. We make up her botles to 7oz but she never ever finishes them so that was another reason to try it. Sometimes she drinks 5oz sometimes only 3 or 4oz. Hoping that I can get her to drink 3 full 7oz bottles like in the routine, we'll see how it goes though.

Dd2 can't crawl yet, but she can sure move fast when she wants to. She crawls commando style using her left elbow and her right knee to move her along. She does go up on her hands and knees though and rock back and forth but hasn't figured out how to move one knee at a time to go forward yet. She sort of launches herself forward with both feet which is really funny.

she will sit unsupported for a little while if someone is sitting behind her to catch her as she fals over. So long as she is absorbed in something she'll sit for a while but when she tries to reach for something else she loses her balance. And she loves to wave at people, mainly dd1.

And look at all these January birthdays.

Happy Birthday Egypt and Happy Birthday Kbaby for tomorrow.
Can I join in and announce that my Birthday is on Monday? Kbaby your exactly 3 days older than me I'm also going to be 28, OMG 28 when did that happen? Do I have to act like a grown up now? Or can I wait until I'm 30?

ok going to go as it's getting late, I alwasy mean to have an early night and end up staying up later than I meant to.

talk again soon

Linnet

Hello - I too should be in bed - but v excited to read about other May babies. I have a 5 yr old girl and boy born 18 May. He drinks SO much milk, and has continued to do so even after introducing solids....Keeps waking in the night for dummy or little cry (just to stop me getting any decent sleep I think).. Likes to be sick all over me at least 3 times a day - so I am thinking 'over feeding? or just sicky baby?' Hmmm

Libb · 07/01/2005 00:04

Hello! won't stop as am cruising past on my way to bed. Welcome to the May mums xxxxx

goreousgirl · 07/01/2005 00:09

Thanks - g'night!

egypt · 07/01/2005 11:25

how gg, how much milk is your ds drinking? wish mine would have more! 18oz is the recommended minimum. shouldnt think more would make him sick though....unless he cant tell when he's full

welcome anyway!

Hello and Welcome GG

I bet you chose that name because you thought it would be nice being called gorgeous all the time ... aha ..little did you know how most people get initialised and you'd end up a geegee LOL

helsy · 07/01/2005 14:40

Hello. Welcome gorgeousgirl. They're nice here.

We're moving just up the road - bigger house, smaller garden. Have just posted on another thread as dd1 is not happy about moving.

Dd2 is now eating lots more as I've dropped the lunchtime bottle. Last night she woke up at 12.30 but we both fell asleep while the bottle was warming! She woke again at 5, fed her then. She's soooo cuddly at the moment.

GeorginaA · 07/01/2005 14:51

Am feeling very domestic for very little effort today. Had my cleaner come round and they are FANTASTIC! I have one of those white sinks - never has been white since the day it's been installed and I tell you - IT'S GLOWING! Daren't use it, of course... and they've got all the orange baby food stains out of the worktops that even Mr Muscle couldn't shift...

... I'm in awe.

Oh, and I'm investing in a carpet cleaner - am sick of orange stains on the carpet every day due to ds2's continued sickiness...

GeorginaA · 07/01/2005 14:52

Hmm... sorry, that was a bit non-baby related wasn't it!

Oh well.

Welcome gorgeousgirl!

egypt · 07/01/2005 16:08

wow - how did they get the stains out??? bleach?!

and we do need a carpet cleaner too. our carpet is one year old and looks at least 20. its dreadful....does babysick bleach?! we have lighter spots on our carpet, very strange.

OP posts:
GeorginaA · 07/01/2005 16:48

I dunno - but I've used bleach on sink and surfaces before to no avail. I'm in awe.

Well I'm getting the Bissell Powerwash Deluxe Upright Deep Cleaner so I'll let you know how I get on! Funnily enough, we have lighter patches too, but I assumed that's because I cleaned those particular areas so there was less grime there

GeorginaA · 07/01/2005 16:51

We looked at hiring a carpet cleaner btw, and it's £26 ish for a weekend from HSS - not bad, but I thought the amount ds2 is being sick then I really needed one at home. Would only have to hire 5 times to save money.

At least I hope that'll be the case!!

goreousgirl · 07/01/2005 19:16

What a friendly lot you are! GG indeed - mind you I quite like the idea of being horsey. My little boy drinks about 7oz every four hours 7am - 11pm -and he turned my bedroom carpet a lovely blueberry pink tonight - Bless

spots · 07/01/2005 20:46

Hello gorgeousgirl. We love baby sick here.

And hello Linnet. yes you have to be grownup NOW.

DD ate ridiculously little today so I think I might go a-threading in the Food topic.

We had to bring her into our bed last night because the wind was keeping her awake, and again I wish I could draw a picture because we just have a normal sized double bed not a king size, and I had to sleep in a really contorted position to stop my bosom being level with her face (which would have meant all night suction resulting in inside-out mummy by 7am). DH of course slept in his habitual curly shape . However he was woken by DD 'pulling on his teeth'!!

Strong winds forecast for tonight again.

GeorginaA · 07/01/2005 20:51

OOO OOO have to tell someone - ds2 was getting up on his knees this evening... that's precursor to crawling, right?!!

Bozza · 07/01/2005 22:15

hello GG and happy birthday linnet. You lot are all making me feel old - but at least I know that Twiglett and Judd are older than me. This thread is quite a civilised length for once compared with some of the others on the go.

Bozza · 07/01/2005 22:18

Yes think it is georgina. Do you think your DS could explain to my DD thats its a good idea to try crawling before walking?

GeorginaA · 07/01/2005 22:21

I'll make him have stern words...

Casmie · 07/01/2005 22:26

Hmm... I suppose I'd better declare that I've changed name...
