ah sparkly new thread.. i spotted this on my friends face book and had to share it:

WHY GOD MADE MOMS
Answers are given by 2nd grade school children to the following questions:

Why did God make mothers?

  1. She's the only one who knows where the scotch tape is.
  2. Mostly to clean the house.
  3. To help us out of there when we were getting born.

How did God make mothers?

  1. He used dirt, just like for the rest of us.
  2. Magic plus super powers and a lot of stirring.
  3. God made my Mom just the same like he made me. He just used bigger parts.

What ingredients are mothers made of ?

  1. God makes mothers out of clouds and angel hair and everything nice in the world and one dab of mean.
  2. They had to get their start from men's bones. Then they mostly use string, I think.

Why did God give you your mother and not some other mom?

  1. We're related.
  2. God knew she likes me a lot more than other people's moms like me.

What kind of little girl was your mom?

  1. My Mom has always been my mom and none of that other stuff.
  2. I don't know because I wasn't there, but my guess would be pretty bossy.
  3. They say she used to be nice.

What did mom need to know about dad before she married him?

  1. His last name.
  2. She had to know his background. Like is he a crook? Does he get drunk on beer?
  3. Does he make at least $800 a year? Did he say NO to drugs and YES to chores?

Why did your mom marry your dad?

  1. My dad makes the best spaghetti in the world. And my Mom eats a lot.
  2. She got too old to do anything else with him.
  3. My grandma says that Mom didn't have her thinking cap on. Ha ha ha ha!!!

Who's the boss at your house?

  1. Mom doesn't want to be boss, but she has to because dad's such a goof ball.
  2. Mom. You can tell by room inspection. She sees the stuff under the bed.
  3. I guess Mom is, but only because she has a lot more to do than dad.

What's the difference between moms & dads?

  1. Moms work at work and work at home and dads just go to work at work.
  2. Moms know how to talk to teachers without scaring them.
  3. Dads are taller & stronger, but moms have all the real power 'cause that's who you got to ask if you want to sleep over at your friend's
  4. Moms have magic, they make you feel better without medicine.
What does your mom do in her spare time?
  1. Mothers don't do spare time.
  2. To hear her tell it, she pays bills all day long.

What would it take to make your mom perfect?

  1. On the inside she's already perfect. Outside, I think some kind of plastic surgery.
  2. Diet. You know, her hair. I'd diet, maybe blue.

If you could change one thing about your mom, what would it be?

  1. She has this weird thing about me keeping my room clean. I'd get rid of that.
  2. I'd make my mom smarter. Then she would know it was my sister who did t and not me.
  3. I would like for her to get rid of those invisible eyes on the back of her head.

just thought it was funny!

No, we're in a slightly bigger one, but this one has a gated yard so the DCs can be let out if it's nice. It's this one

lackaDAISYcal · 20/04/2008 21:47

I'm off to bed.

I'll let you know about the scan as soon as possible

Riallyclean · 20/04/2008 21:48

Ria, yes my gran had loads of sayings like that, my dh is still constantly amused after 15 years as now and agian come out with one he hasn't heard, and they are all slightly off the wall....

Well continous sleep through the night still being an issue here.... however ds only woke up 2 times last night, stettled well the first and the second time took 45 mins he is now sparko though

lackaDAISYcal · 21/04/2008 11:34

Didn't get ABs. Hopefully it'll sort itself out with my flushing of cranberry juice. If I don't feel better by tomorrow though, I'll go to the docs and demand some ABs.

Oh, EDD confirmed as 6th November.

LittleMissNorty · 21/04/2008 11:57

at least you know why you felt like shit - and that all is ok with baby.......

lackaDAISYcal · 21/04/2008 12:00

scan was fab....we could see fingers and toes and everything

and the registrar has agreed to VBAC , but insisted on CFM , and won't let me go past 41 weeks , but I kind of expected that. The CFM, or my preferred lack of it, is a fight for another day

Right, DH is pacing the floor and clearing his throat behind me.

Later xx

LittleMissNorty · 21/04/2008 12:12

Sorry for being thick but whats CFM?

You're very brave with VBAC....I haven't forgotten that pain yet and will definitely be elective CS for me next time......I have a very low pain threshold!

Did you have Nuchal as well Daisy? They do it routinely round here on 12 week scan.

Sputnik · 21/04/2008 13:13

Oh that's great Daisy, that first scan is magical

CFM is continuous fetal monitoring ie strapped up to the bleeping machine. there is little evidence to show that it changes the outcome of VBAC pregnancies. Ostensibly it's to monitor scar rupture, but as there is only a 0.5 to 1.5% chance of that it seems like using a sledgehammer to crack a nut imo.

We have to pay for a nuchal scan round these parts. We didn't with DD and didn't with this one (nor have we had the Down's blood tests) as it wouldn't change how we viewed the pregnancy anyway.

mhc, I bought a book that has all the stats in it, as well as some personal stories. Is that the AIMS one?

Went shopping this afternoon.....my how cheered I feel after that......NOT! I've opted for the classic black for the Christening and have some wide leg trousers and I bought a black crochet tunic in Wallis that looks v smart. I'm going to accessorise with cream shoes and bag and cream mac so I don't look too dowdy or like I should be at a funeral rather than a christening.

lackaDAISYcal · 21/04/2008 15:38

I'm off to watch Oliver. I bought the DVD when I was out today.....

.....consider yourself our mate, consider yourself part of the furniture......

kaniluja · 21/04/2008 18:51

Well done Daisy! What fab news very pleased for you (and in awe too, take my hat off to anyone who had 3+)

Have just started the nightly crying stress. So far upto 3 minutes and I feel wreteched........

foxythesnowfox · 21/04/2008 19:55

Hang on in there SG

FAB Daisy!!

BumperliciousNeedsToSleep · 21/04/2008 20:00

Evening all

Daisy that's fantastic news! Not about the UTI, obviously, but glad all is well.

Foxy sorry about DP at the thing.

Fury, hope you are ok. let me know if you want to meet up, Saturdays are good for me.

SG hope you can get through the sleep thing (hope we can too!).

Norty do you really fancy a CS next time? Do you think they'll let you? I don't know about a CS but I certainly need a bit of therapy before the next time round. I'm pretty sure I have PTSD from labour, mostly repressed at the moment but I reckon I might freak out next time! Not sure I find the idea of a CS any more appealing though.

FF I think the top/leggings/boot combo sounds like a winner! You are going to look fab!

justbeme · 21/04/2008 20:10

Evening!
Congrats Daisy!!

Hope Fury etc is feeling better.
and that SG will have a peaceful night!

No news here - just wanted to say Hi!

Sputnik · 21/04/2008 20:25

Sending you strength vibes SG. Hope you sort out the sleep thing soon.

Riallyclean · 21/04/2008 20:32

Glad you got good news daisy.

Hi everyone.

I'm off to soak my work-weary bones in a bloody hot bath (and hope I can get out of it again)
