ah sparkly new thread.. i spotted this on my friends face book and had to share it:

WHY GOD MADE MOMS
Answers are given by 2nd grade school children to the following questions:

Why did God make mothers?

  1. She's the only one who knows where the scotch tape is.
  2. Mostly to clean the house.
  3. To help us out of there when we were getting born.

How did God make mothers?

  1. He used dirt, just like for the rest of us.
  2. Magic plus super powers and a lot of stirring.
  3. God made my Mom just the same like he made me. He just used bigger parts.

What ingredients are mothers made of ?

  1. God makes mothers out of clouds and angel hair and everything nice in the world and one dab of mean.
  2. They had to get their start from men's bones. Then they mostly use string, I think.

Why did God give you your mother and not some other mom?

  1. We're related.
  2. God knew she likes me a lot more than other people's moms like me.

What kind of little girl was your mom?

  1. My Mom has always been my mom and none of that other stuff.
  2. I don't know because I wasn't there, but my guess would be pretty bossy.
  3. They say she used to be nice.

What did mom need to know about dad before she married him?

  1. His last name.
  2. She had to know his background. Like is he a crook? Does he get drunk on beer?
  3. Does he make at least $800 a year? Did he say NO to drugs and YES to chores?

Why did your mom marry your dad?

  1. My dad makes the best spaghetti in the world. And my Mom eats a lot.
  2. She got too old to do anything else with him.
  3. My grandma says that Mom didn't have her thinking cap on. Ha ha ha ha!!!

Who's the boss at your house?

  1. Mom doesn't want to be boss, but she has to because dad's such a goof ball.
  2. Mom. You can tell by room inspection. She sees the stuff under the bed.
  3. I guess Mom is, but only because she has a lot more to do than dad.

What's the difference between moms & dads?

  1. Moms work at work and work at home and dads just go to work at work.
  2. Moms know how to talk to teachers without scaring them.
  3. Dads are taller & stronger, but moms have all the real power 'cause that's who you got to ask if you want to sleep over at your friend's
  4. Moms have magic, they make you feel better without medicine.
What does your mom do in her spare time?
  1. Mothers don't do spare time.
  2. To hear her tell it, she pays bills all day long.

What would it take to make your mom perfect?

  1. On the inside she's already perfect. Outside, I think some kind of plastic surgery.
  2. Diet. You know, her hair. I'd diet, maybe blue.

If you could change one thing about your mom, what would it be?

  1. She has this weird thing about me keeping my room clean. I'd get rid of that.
  2. I'd make my mom smarter. Then she would know it was my sister who did t and not me.
  3. I would like for her to get rid of those invisible eyes on the back of her head.

just thought it was funny!

Sorry Daisy, I know the pain you are in isn't at all funny, but I did smile at the image of you and your Dh hurling your handbag back and forth

andiem · 30/04/2008 20:44

daisy hope you feel better soon you have had such a week of it

hello holly long time no see

well done on the tooth jbm I think it can make their wee smell more

I have not had d2 weighed since he was 12 weeks oops

off to watch the apprentice no school again tomorrow as school is a polling station shopping beckons

Izzybel · 30/04/2008 20:45

Hi everyone!

Fairy, glad your DS is ok. That must have been awful seeing him fall like that, but like everyone else has said, it can happen to anyone. You are not a bad mother!

Holly, glad your DD had a lovely time at pre-school . It is so that they have to grow up. Well done to DS for his walking.

Foxy, I watched Corrie . It was horrible. I kept thinking how people have to go through that everyday. My absolute worst nightmare. I know that they have to try to make soaps realistic, but sometimes I really wished they wouldn't do storylines like that.

lackaDAISYcal · 30/04/2008 20:46

i know fairy....tis comical now (even I'm PMSL reading it back), but obviously wasn't at the time. I did try getting him with pan lid later on, but he saw me coming and deflected the blow

thankfully the DCs never witnessed any of this.

DH is pretty humbled that he has really hurt me, but you can see why we are struggling a bit. It's never good when it comes to blows

lackaDAISYcal · 30/04/2008 20:50

jbm, DDs nappies are always caustic when she is teething.

holly, it'll get easier with DD. Well done to DS on his walking. Maybe with DD at pre-school it'll give you and DS a chance to kick back and relax with each other a bit and it won't seem so rushed. IKWYM though; it has been a very quick 10 months hasn't it?

Izzybel · 30/04/2008 20:50

Oh Daisy I've had a muscle spasm in my neck before (so probably not as bad) and it's awful when you've got a sore neck and back. Hope it gets better ((((hugs))))

Seansgirlthesequel · 30/04/2008 20:51

Well spotted bargains Andi! Am trying to resist as have no money to spend but I do love a bargain!

Hiya Hol! DS was 22lbs back in Feb haven't had him weighed since so must be close to your DS - but why is not crawling!? argh! I wish he could toddle around he might not whinge quite so much!

Sorry Daisy, I did LOL at the handbag fight! But do hope you feel better soon, whiplash is no joke.

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 30/04/2008 20:51

Good god, corrie sounds awful! Just looked on the itv website to see what the storyline was. Glad I don't watch it, I'd have been in floods!

Daisy, you poor thing. for you. I wish I could give you a real one instead of a virtual one xxx

Hi izzy and andie.

I might go to bed. I'm shattered and freezing cold. I got soaked through 3 times today and haven't warmed up properly yet. Ds is asleep on me now, so I might just transfer us to bed and sky+ the programme I wanted to watch later.

Peace out x

Izzybel · 30/04/2008 20:53

I got DD weighed last week and she was 19 lbs 19 ozs. Can't understand why she's not heavier, she eats like a horse!

FrazzledFairyFay · 30/04/2008 20:54

goodnight Holly

Seansgirlthesequel · 30/04/2008 20:55

Holly, before you know it she'll be going to reception. It goes so fast, DD has grown up a lot in last year, starting recption, being in a show with her ballet school at the local theatre (god that made me cry!) and going on her first school trip on a coach....... even at 5 she is still my little baby

Izzybel · 30/04/2008 20:55

Night Holly

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 30/04/2008 20:56

Hey SG! Hope you are well. I expect your ds will just take off soon. My dd went straight from sitting to walking, so he might miss the crawling stage altogether.

I hope the preschool thing does get easier daisy. I felt really embarrassed for crying too, but she was so sad and just clinging on to me. She had a really good time though and asked to go back, so hopefully next time will be a bit less stressful!

Hello to jbm too!

It's busy on here tonight, but I need to sleep.

Night x

Seansgirlthesequel · 30/04/2008 20:56

Night Holly xx

LittleMissNorty · 30/04/2008 20:57

Blimey Fairy - you poor thing....I would have crapped myself and been in pieces as well.....FWIW DD got her hands on a VERY hot cup of tea tonight ( for DH) and was saved just before the pulling it over bit and she done a backwards roll off her changing station with me a few months ago and fell down smacking her head on the cot....just so happened MIL was here and I had to compose myself before I came downstairs with DD saying in an unusually light voice "oh she's fine"......

Daisy, I'm sorry but I too had a little smile about the handbag throwing but sounds bloody painful and you should get it looked at....but what are you gonna tell the GP????!! Glad DH is going to ring work for you....hope you will feel much better once that is done......

LittleMissNorty · 30/04/2008 20:58

Farking hell, it took me so long to type that, I've got to go and catch up again!!

Izzybel · 30/04/2008 21:00

Hi Norty.
Maria's baby died, so she had to give birth

LittleMissNorty · 30/04/2008 21:02

oh how awful

What time was your DD born Izzy

LittleMissNorty · 30/04/2008 21:07

is everyone off watching the apprentice....I can't watch it till the blardy footie is finished

Izzybel · 30/04/2008 21:08

She was born at 9.14pm. She was due on the 1st of June, so her timing wasn't bad, but my contractions started early on the 31st May (grr.) Was your DD born in the morning?

Izzybel · 30/04/2008 21:10

I have embarrassing bodies on the TV. All I can hear is DP saying, "this is rude!"
It's not rude, although there is a model of a big lady garden behind them.

LittleMissNorty · 30/04/2008 21:11

Yes, waters broke 31st May and contractions early hours of 1st June, born by emergency CS at 5am...she wasn't due till 13th June, I'd only been off work a couple of weeks on A/L and my mat leave started the day after I had her!!

Blimey, long labour for you then? I was pretty knackered with my 26 hours

LittleMissNorty · 30/04/2008 21:11

better than listening to football

lackaDAISYcal · 30/04/2008 21:16

thanks holly, but it would probably hurt too much

Norty, that thought had crossed my mind, shortly before I thought "hey I can justify buying a new bag now, as that one (my favourite) is tainted forever"

hopefully it'll be gone in the morning and ther'll be no need for the GP

night all
