ah sparkly new thread.. i spotted this on my friends face book and had to share it:

WHY GOD MADE MOMS
Answers are given by 2nd grade school children to the following questions:

Why did God make mothers?

  1. She's the only one who knows where the scotch tape is.
  2. Mostly to clean the house.
  3. To help us out of there when we were getting born.

How did God make mothers?

  1. He used dirt, just like for the rest of us.
  2. Magic plus super powers and a lot of stirring.
  3. God made my Mom just the same like he made me. He just used bigger parts.

What ingredients are mothers made of ?

  1. God makes mothers out of clouds and angel hair and everything nice in the world and one dab of mean.
  2. They had to get their start from men's bones. Then they mostly use string, I think.

Why did God give you your mother and not some other mom?

  1. We're related.
  2. God knew she likes me a lot more than other people's moms like me.

What kind of little girl was your mom?

  1. My Mom has always been my mom and none of that other stuff.
  2. I don't know because I wasn't there, but my guess would be pretty bossy.
  3. They say she used to be nice.

What did mom need to know about dad before she married him?

  1. His last name.
  2. She had to know his background. Like is he a crook? Does he get drunk on beer?
  3. Does he make at least $800 a year? Did he say NO to drugs and YES to chores?

Why did your mom marry your dad?

  1. My dad makes the best spaghetti in the world. And my Mom eats a lot.
  2. She got too old to do anything else with him.
  3. My grandma says that Mom didn't have her thinking cap on. Ha ha ha ha!!!

Who's the boss at your house?

  1. Mom doesn't want to be boss, but she has to because dad's such a goof ball.
  2. Mom. You can tell by room inspection. She sees the stuff under the bed.
  3. I guess Mom is, but only because she has a lot more to do than dad.

What's the difference between moms & dads?

  1. Moms work at work and work at home and dads just go to work at work.
  2. Moms know how to talk to teachers without scaring them.
  3. Dads are taller & stronger, but moms have all the real power 'cause that's who you got to ask if you want to sleep over at your friend's
  4. Moms have magic, they make you feel better without medicine.
What does your mom do in her spare time?
  1. Mothers don't do spare time.
  2. To hear her tell it, she pays bills all day long.

What would it take to make your mom perfect?

  1. On the inside she's already perfect. Outside, I think some kind of plastic surgery.
  2. Diet. You know, her hair. I'd diet, maybe blue.

If you could change one thing about your mom, what would it be?

  1. She has this weird thing about me keeping my room clean. I'd get rid of that.
  2. I'd make my mom smarter. Then she would know it was my sister who did t and not me.
  3. I would like for her to get rid of those invisible eyes on the back of her head.

just thought it was funny!

LittleMissNorty · 29/04/2008 21:19

Evening all

Hope all the LOs are ok ...DD has screamed the last 2 nights when being put to bed...

SO what...I hear you all say....

well, she's never done it before and always goes up fully awake and is a good girl and just turns over and goes to sleep so its a bit of a shock to the system ....I stayed around stroking her face and shushhing her and she went off.....it was horrible though. Have no idea what the matter can be. Any ideas ladies? Why don't they provide manuals with these babies

Poor DD Fairy (or should I say poor you!)..

Daisy, I'd tell work...I should think its very stressful not telling them....and if you're offically back at work, you should be back on full pay. Hope you get it sorted.

Izzybel · 29/04/2008 21:22

My sympathies to your DH, Bumper. Although it's good that he knows what it has been like for you. DD has days like that, when you can't leave her playing by herself, but she won't sit on your knee. It's so frustrating. I admit to shouting "WHAT DO YOU WANT" before and swearing is involved here too .

andiem · 29/04/2008 21:22

norty I think it is developmental they are so buy at the moment I think their brains get a bit overloaded sometimes
ds2 has spent all day trying to stand and walk and every time I tried to sit him down he whinged he was clinging to my trousers when I was trying to cook tea

andiem · 29/04/2008 21:23

busy obviously

LittleMissNorty · 29/04/2008 21:24

Mmm I can add to that one...Oh FFS be QUIET or "oh well just cry then" ....blimey, makes me look like a shit mum...

I'm supposed to be working...bloody MN is so obsessive sometimes

LittleMissNorty · 29/04/2008 21:25

Could be Andie...she's doing all her milestones in one hit this week - and another tooth popped out so could be that as well...but this was clinging rather than pain IYKWIM but the level of screaming was unlike anything I have heard before.

andiem · 29/04/2008 21:26

my favourite is stop screaming which I scream

LittleMissNorty · 29/04/2008 21:27

...I've heard DH say oh FGS stop acting like a baby!!

Izzybel · 29/04/2008 21:28

MHC, that sounds scary. Poor thing! I hope he's ok.

Norty, not really got any advice. Not sure what it could be. I wonder if she has just decided for the past two nights that she just doesn't want to go to bed. I hope it's back to normal for you tomorrow.

NattyEcoWarriorPrincess · 29/04/2008 21:35

i have had an awful day

Izzybel · 29/04/2008 21:35

Lol!
We were walking with my friend and her DS, the other week. Her DS wouldn't stop crying so she said "oh you're just showing yourself up, acting like a big baby!"

andiem · 29/04/2008 21:36

why natty?

Izzybel · 29/04/2008 21:36

What's up Natty

NattyEcoWarriorPrincess · 29/04/2008 21:41

thomas has had his second day on the trot of EXTREME behavior, im really worried about him, this is just not a normal 2 year old tantrum, its off the scale, it shocked all the mums in my surestart group and the health visitor!

i dont know what to do with him

LittleMissNorty · 29/04/2008 21:43

Aww Natty ....can you speak to your HV?

andiem · 29/04/2008 21:44

for you natty it is so stressful when they really play up in front of other people especially hcps

Izzybel · 29/04/2008 21:46

Did the HV say anything to you? Did you speak to her about your concerns?

NattyEcoWarriorPrincess · 29/04/2008 21:49

she said he is prob just being two, but she doesnt live with him i cant do anything, last night he went to bed without dinner because he just would not let me cook, and the neighbors are complaining too now

LittleMissNorty · 29/04/2008 21:50

meant to say...can you speak to the HV at home?

...how is it different from a tantrum?

Sputnik · 29/04/2008 21:57

Natty, can you think of anything that might have triggered your DS's behaviour?

I gave DD some paracetamol and she revived enough to eat a bit and the fever went down, we'll see how she is in the morning.

I'm off to bed, as haven't had much sleep the last 2 nights.

andiem · 29/04/2008 21:59

glad dd is feeling abit better sputnik

am off to bed too
night all

LittleMissNorty · 29/04/2008 22:00

I'm off as well...glad the paracetamol has done the trick Sputnik...may you (all) sleep well.

night all x

NattyEcoWarriorPrincess · 29/04/2008 22:00

he is SO angry, biting and spitting and pinching me if i say no to anything. he throws him self against walls and floors in anger. if he cant do a puzzle properly then he pinches himself and says "nono no no" and them screams. stops and does the whole thing all over again.
the length of time the tantrums are as well.. he has had 3 hour tantrums before, and the shortest is about half hour, this is constant screaming and pounding the floor and trying to bite me.
i just dont know what to do with him anymore, today i was wishing i hadnt had him how awful is that
