ah sparkly new thread.. i spotted this on my friends face book and had to share it:

WHY GOD MADE MOMS
Answers are given by 2nd grade school children to the following questions:

Why did God make mothers?

  1. She's the only one who knows where the scotch tape is.
  2. Mostly to clean the house.
  3. To help us out of there when we were getting born.

How did God make mothers?

  1. He used dirt, just like for the rest of us.
  2. Magic plus super powers and a lot of stirring.
  3. God made my Mom just the same like he made me. He just used bigger parts.

What ingredients are mothers made of ?

  1. God makes mothers out of clouds and angel hair and everything nice in the world and one dab of mean.
  2. They had to get their start from men's bones. Then they mostly use string, I think.

Why did God give you your mother and not some other mom?

  1. We're related.
  2. God knew she likes me a lot more than other people's moms like me.

What kind of little girl was your mom?

  1. My Mom has always been my mom and none of that other stuff.
  2. I don't know because I wasn't there, but my guess would be pretty bossy.
  3. They say she used to be nice.

What did mom need to know about dad before she married him?

  1. His last name.
  2. She had to know his background. Like is he a crook? Does he get drunk on beer?
  3. Does he make at least $800 a year? Did he say NO to drugs and YES to chores?

Why did your mom marry your dad?

  1. My dad makes the best spaghetti in the world. And my Mom eats a lot.
  2. She got too old to do anything else with him.
  3. My grandma says that Mom didn't have her thinking cap on. Ha ha ha ha!!!

Who's the boss at your house?

  1. Mom doesn't want to be boss, but she has to because dad's such a goof ball.
  2. Mom. You can tell by room inspection. She sees the stuff under the bed.
  3. I guess Mom is, but only because she has a lot more to do than dad.

What's the difference between moms & dads?

  1. Moms work at work and work at home and dads just go to work at work.
  2. Moms know how to talk to teachers without scaring them.
  3. Dads are taller & stronger, but moms have all the real power 'cause that's who you got to ask if you want to sleep over at your friend's
  4. Moms have magic, they make you feel better without medicine.
What does your mom do in her spare time?
  1. Mothers don't do spare time.
  2. To hear her tell it, she pays bills all day long.

What would it take to make your mom perfect?

  1. On the inside she's already perfect. Outside, I think some kind of plastic surgery.
  2. Diet. You know, her hair. I'd diet, maybe blue.

If you could change one thing about your mom, what would it be?

  1. She has this weird thing about me keeping my room clean. I'd get rid of that.
  2. I'd make my mom smarter. Then she would know it was my sister who did t and not me.
  3. I would like for her to get rid of those invisible eyes on the back of her head.

just thought it was funny!

yes, I'm up for that.

I'm not having DP issues at the moment either. But then I got extremely drunk the other night....

andiem · 29/04/2008 19:22

kew would be lovely fairy

lackaDAISYcal · 29/04/2008 19:58

foxy, it sometimes has to be done; don't beat yourself up about it. Your DP definately has a smile on his face then!

Sputnik, how's DD now? has her temp come down any?

I gave Em some calpol and then tried to give her a bottle; she took 3ozs and then batted it away. I got her to force down another oz, but then she wouldn't have it and was getting upset. Her temp was down a bit, but I put her in bed as she fell asleep on my knee which is very unlike her these days. I keep checking on her as well; after last week I'm not taking any chances, especially as her nappies haven't been all that wet today. She hasn't been ill at all apart from the cold at christmas and now it seems like one thing after the other; poor wee mite.

Evening.
Sorry for those of you who are having problems with DH/P at the moment. I really hope that the problems can pass and be overcome .

Lilkel, hope the results of the biopsy come out ok. Take care and rest ((((hugs)))).

Daisy, dunno what to suggest about telling work. I've always been a bit of a scardy cat when it comes to facing management . One thing I do know though, is that you need to look after number one. Sod worrying about letting them down or whether they'll be mad that you're not going back. Your health is more important. Hope DD is ok.

Sputnik, hope your DD is ok.

Thanks for answering my question of how old all the babies are! I was just being nosy really wondering .
All of you have given your los really beautiful names, haven't you! I really really like Emily Isabelle together and Theo.

foxythesnowfox · 29/04/2008 20:32

wotcha doing thinking about baby names then Izzy?

FrazzledFairyFay · 29/04/2008 20:34

Duh, I have just re-read the list of dates. DS is 10th June, not July. I am a muppet!

lackaDAISYcal · 29/04/2008 20:41

lol izzy, the only probelm with emily isabelle is that we have exhausted our girl's name preferences. this poor child will be called 3of5 (nod to DH's trekkiness) at this rate!

lackaDAISYcal · 29/04/2008 20:42

and that would be five as in five of us, not as in five children...before anyone says anything

Izzybel · 29/04/2008 20:42

Oh don't, Foxy! I'm always arguing with DP over whether we're going to have another. Goes like this.

DP: We're not having another.
ME: We are!
DP: Nope. I'm too impatient to have anymore.
ME: Well I'll just find someone else to have one with then!

I think we will have another in a few years. I can't imagine not going through it all again!

FrazzledFairyFay · 29/04/2008 20:43

Does that mean you are planning to have five DCs, Daisy?

FrazzledFairyFay · 29/04/2008 20:43

too late Daisy

foxythesnowfox · 29/04/2008 20:45

LOL Izzy, that's what I keep saying!!

Izzybel · 29/04/2008 20:45

I know what you mean, Daisy. DD is Isabel Sophia and I really like Sophia as a first name but wouldn't be able to use it if we were ever to have another girl.

lackaDAISYcal · 29/04/2008 20:50

lol at your DH izzy...what is there to be impatient about exactly?

lackaDAISYcal · 29/04/2008 20:51

lol fairy

right am off for some herbal tea and Waking the Dead before I hopefully sleep like the dead.

FrazzledFairyFay · 29/04/2008 20:56

Good night Daisy, sleep well

foxythesnowfox · 29/04/2008 21:03

Nite Daisy. Sleep well.

FrazzledFairyFay · 29/04/2008 21:05

I'm off to bed too. Goodnight everyone. May those babies all sleep until 8am (well, a girl can dream....)

Izzybel · 29/04/2008 21:07

Not sure why he thinks he's any less patient than any other parent. Although he was always in such a rush to get her on to solids and he gets a bit intolerant of DD when she gets whingy and wants to pass her back (not that I blame him.) He's a fab Daddy, though and he loves DD so much. He's always saying how she's the best thing that has ever happened in his life.

foxythesnowfox · 29/04/2008 21:08

Ahhh, bless!

Izzybel · 29/04/2008 21:08

Night Daisy night Fairy .

lol you lot and your talk of more babies 2 is it for us I'm too old now

Izzybel · 29/04/2008 21:09

Sorry that was a bit mushy

BumperliciousNeedsToSleep · 29/04/2008 21:10

If we have another girl I am loving the name Freya.

Sputnik, daisy hope LO's are ok.

Foxy, tough day for you, don't beat yourself up. You do a fantastic job with your lot, you are a fab mum

Dh had a v tough day with DD today. One of those days when she doesn't want to be on her own, doesn't want to be sat on your lap, v whingy. I came home and he had a look on his face that I must have had so many times. He said swearing had been involved! Part of me is secretly pleased he now knows what it's like The other part is very sympathetic, especially as I came home, swept her up and was singing to her etc. Easy to do when you've not had her all day and used to make me feel even worse when DH used to come home and do it. I went out and bought him some ice cream to cheer him up though.

andiem · 29/04/2008 21:10

mushy is allowed izzy
