ah sparkly new thread.. i spotted this on my friends face book and had to share it:

WHY GOD MADE MOMS
Answers are given by 2nd grade school children to the following questions:

Why did God make mothers?

  1. She's the only one who knows where the scotch tape is.
  2. Mostly to clean the house.
  3. To help us out of there when we were getting born.

How did God make mothers?

  1. He used dirt, just like for the rest of us.
  2. Magic plus super powers and a lot of stirring.
  3. God made my Mom just the same like he made me. He just used bigger parts.

What ingredients are mothers made of ?

  1. God makes mothers out of clouds and angel hair and everything nice in the world and one dab of mean.
  2. They had to get their start from men's bones. Then they mostly use string, I think.

Why did God give you your mother and not some other mom?

  1. We're related.
  2. God knew she likes me a lot more than other people's moms like me.

What kind of little girl was your mom?

  1. My Mom has always been my mom and none of that other stuff.
  2. I don't know because I wasn't there, but my guess would be pretty bossy.
  3. They say she used to be nice.

What did mom need to know about dad before she married him?

  1. His last name.
  2. She had to know his background. Like is he a crook? Does he get drunk on beer?
  3. Does he make at least $800 a year? Did he say NO to drugs and YES to chores?

Why did your mom marry your dad?

  1. My dad makes the best spaghetti in the world. And my Mom eats a lot.
  2. She got too old to do anything else with him.
  3. My grandma says that Mom didn't have her thinking cap on. Ha ha ha ha!!!

Who's the boss at your house?

  1. Mom doesn't want to be boss, but she has to because dad's such a goof ball.
  2. Mom. You can tell by room inspection. She sees the stuff under the bed.
  3. I guess Mom is, but only because she has a lot more to do than dad.

What's the difference between moms & dads?

  1. Moms work at work and work at home and dads just go to work at work.
  2. Moms know how to talk to teachers without scaring them.
  3. Dads are taller & stronger, but moms have all the real power 'cause that's who you got to ask if you want to sleep over at your friend's
  4. Moms have magic, they make you feel better without medicine.
What does your mom do in her spare time?
  1. Mothers don't do spare time.
  2. To hear her tell it, she pays bills all day long.

What would it take to make your mom perfect?

  1. On the inside she's already perfect. Outside, I think some kind of plastic surgery.
  2. Diet. You know, her hair. I'd diet, maybe blue.

If you could change one thing about your mom, what would it be?

  1. She has this weird thing about me keeping my room clean. I'd get rid of that.
  2. I'd make my mom smarter. Then she would know it was my sister who did t and not me.
  3. I would like for her to get rid of those invisible eyes on the back of her head.

just thought it was funny!

NattyEcoWarriorPrincess · 25/04/2008 16:24
Grin
Izzybel · 25/04/2008 16:36

Are you off out tonight, Foxy?

Izzybel · 25/04/2008 16:38

Right, I'm off. Just realised that I've been on here ages and DP has just got home. See ya later!

NattyEcoWarriorPrincess · 25/04/2008 16:42

im bored stiff, and fucked off with DH, anyone about to cheer me up and rant about men?

foxythesnowfox · 25/04/2008 16:48

usually i love a good rant, but got to get the veg on for tea! sorry!

lackaDAISYcal · 25/04/2008 17:34

oooh, I can rant. I've had DH maoning this morning about the fact he's been doing all the clearing up and stuff and cooking at home for the last week and running around after me yesterday when:
a) he offered
b) when I said I felt guilty him doing everything, he told me not to be daft, I was to get myself well (this last weekend after I'd had a crap week emotionally and had a fecking UTI and felt shit)
c) DD was in hospital and I didn't want to leave her, so he was running back and forwards putting money in the car (he parked it and I didn't even know where the feck it was) and fetching food (ha!) and cups of tea.....as he fecking well should!

i know he was worried about work as he was supposed to be signing off a print run for a new product launch and if the retailer isn't happy it's him who gets it in the neck, even though he's been sitting at home all week waiting for aforementioned "not just any" retailer getting their fingers out of their arses and getting the films to him so he could get them to the printer.....and I know he's worried about DD.....

....but he shouldn't bloody take it out on me!

OK, rant over.

Just me and the bub tonight as DS is at the GPs and DH is off sleeping on the printer's boardroom sofa.

nice tea, DD to bed and then a video for me I think!

Seansgirlthesequel · 25/04/2008 17:58

Aaaarghhhh! You lot have been so chatty this afternoon has took me ages to catch up!.

Daisy so glad that DD is on the mend! You poor poor things what an ordeal for you all! Big hugs to you all.

LOL at your rant! I could rant for england about my DH!

  1. My main complaint though is his work is all consuming, when he comes home is stressed, tired, miserable and grumpy and always falls asleep on the sofa.
  1. If I want a conversation I have to phone him at work, which I know is not ideal but I don't get a word in at night before hes asleep! Of course more often than not he is arsey when I phone!
  1. He can never ever answer a straight question about when he is going to be back.... i get the usual shit like " Depends opn the traffic" that kind of thing.
  1. He is so pessimistic about everything, never seems to see the ++ about anything. If I ask him what sort of day he has "shit" "terrible" " the same as usual"

God, I sound like a witch I know but he really is no fun at the moment and I know its the stress of his job, but as he likes to pint out its his job that pays the way so I don't have to work!

Oh and my other big complaint is that he doesn't like it if I drink, gets all bloody sanctimonious (sp? - you know what I mean)... men!
There! Rant over!

Seansgirlthesequel · 25/04/2008 18:00

Fuck that was a rant .... well thats 12 years married for you !

Seansgirlthesequel · 25/04/2008 18:04

Am off to bath dcs now.

Oh Fury, don't know if you are still pondering DS birthday present, I was too until I got out DDs old fisher price little people farm - and duplo lego = both seem a big hit with my DS so am getting him a fisher price car garage i think.

Don't know if anyone else with 2 dcs (or more) finding that no2 not really interested in 'baby' toys they seem far more interested in no1s toys. Great fun trying to keep DDs Polly pocket mini pieces off DSs roaming hands....

lackaDAISYcal · 25/04/2008 18:21

yes, SG...DD just loves power rangers, thunderbirds (especially the talking dolls figures), lego, cars and anything spaceship-ey.

No idea what to get her for her birthday...maybe a push along/ride on thingy as DSs old one is a bit past it's best.....or a playpen so I can get on with things without having to worry about stairs/doors/cat food etc etc etc.

her poo is back to normal....yayayayayayay . Obviously the ABs have killed this bug for good. First formed poo in over a fortnight. I feel the need to save it so I can share it with DH

andiem · 25/04/2008 18:29

back from swimming

daisy so pleased to see you back at home with dd we are

getting ds2 a paddling pool for his birthday as we need a new one

sg my dh is ok really but has been very tired this week after getting back from vegas and is off to aus next week so no doubt will be very tired when he gets back from there lots of napping on the sofa still i did get a nice pressie from vega as did the dcs

lackaDAISYcal · 25/04/2008 18:32

lol andie, I assume you hit the "end" button on your keyboard (or DS did) in the middle of that sentence.......you sound like yoda

lackaDAISYcal · 25/04/2008 18:41

I've just seen this. Trace really deserves a break

Seansgirlthesequel · 25/04/2008 18:58

Ah well at least you all got pressies.

DH is ok realy its just I get a bit stir crazy with the kids at times and need him to be a bit more 'normal' iyswim. He has done well to get where he has and hopefully next year we will see more financial benefits for the future. Just sometimes I need his company. I'm sure its just a 'blip' and things will improve!

trace2 · 25/04/2008 19:04

daisy just come on to thank you, but just read your dd been in hospital what up with her? is she ok?

lackaDAISYcal · 25/04/2008 19:29

she's fine trace......she was taken in with suspected meningitis, but it isn't that thank god. she's almost back to her normal self now, but she went into some sort of shock after vomitting yesterday, floppy unresponsive and with a very suspect rash. It was a scary few hours, and she is still on ABs, but she bounced back pretty quickly so fairly certain it isn't meningitis. We get her blood culture results tomorrow.

I hope you can get to see another doc on Monday; they should take things like this very seriously (I was going to say especially at our age, but realised that makes you sound ancient ), especially since it's been two months.

andiem · 25/04/2008 19:30

daisy I must have lol still not used to the laptop

poor trace

sg I comfort myself with the fact that dh does well otherwise it would be really hard to put up with being on my own so much

trace2 · 25/04/2008 19:36

daisy she still in?

lackaDAISYcal · 25/04/2008 19:44

no trace; we got home late last night, but had to go back today for more ABs (she still has the canula in her foot) and again tomorrow when we will get her results.

she has been charging around though and eating for Scotland so not much wrong with her now except looking a little peaky.

how's DD; how did the portage go? and any news on the coeliac thing with her and DS?

trace2 · 25/04/2008 19:51

they let her out with it in for abbs,

portage coming on 9th may, and not going in till 12th for biopsy, and ds not having tests until he gets ill again( thats our silly gp once again), chloe nurse says i shoul
d go to an other cos he could get ill .

thank you all ladies for your surport om my thread
