ah sparkly new thread.. i spotted this on my friends face book and had to share it:

WHY GOD MADE MOMS
Answers are given by 2nd grade school children to the following questions:

Why did God make mothers?

  1. She's the only one who knows where the scotch tape is.
  2. Mostly to clean the house.
  3. To help us out of there when we were getting born.

How did God make mothers?

  1. He used dirt, just like for the rest of us.
  2. Magic plus super powers and a lot of stirring.
  3. God made my Mom just the same like he made me. He just used bigger parts.

What ingredients are mothers made of ?

  1. God makes mothers out of clouds and angel hair and everything nice in the world and one dab of mean.
  2. They had to get their start from men's bones. Then they mostly use string, I think.

Why did God give you your mother and not some other mom?

  1. We're related.
  2. God knew she likes me a lot more than other people's moms like me.

What kind of little girl was your mom?

  1. My Mom has always been my mom and none of that other stuff.
  2. I don't know because I wasn't there, but my guess would be pretty bossy.
  3. They say she used to be nice.

What did mom need to know about dad before she married him?

  1. His last name.
  2. She had to know his background. Like is he a crook? Does he get drunk on beer?
  3. Does he make at least $800 a year? Did he say NO to drugs and YES to chores?

Why did your mom marry your dad?

  1. My dad makes the best spaghetti in the world. And my Mom eats a lot.
  2. She got too old to do anything else with him.
  3. My grandma says that Mom didn't have her thinking cap on. Ha ha ha ha!!!

Who's the boss at your house?

  1. Mom doesn't want to be boss, but she has to because dad's such a goof ball.
  2. Mom. You can tell by room inspection. She sees the stuff under the bed.
  3. I guess Mom is, but only because she has a lot more to do than dad.

What's the difference between moms & dads?

  1. Moms work at work and work at home and dads just go to work at work.
  2. Moms know how to talk to teachers without scaring them.
  3. Dads are taller & stronger, but moms have all the real power 'cause that's who you got to ask if you want to sleep over at your friend's
  4. Moms have magic, they make you feel better without medicine.
What does your mom do in her spare time?
  1. Mothers don't do spare time.
  2. To hear her tell it, she pays bills all day long.

What would it take to make your mom perfect?

  1. On the inside she's already perfect. Outside, I think some kind of plastic surgery.
  2. Diet. You know, her hair. I'd diet, maybe blue.

If you could change one thing about your mom, what would it be?

  1. She has this weird thing about me keeping my room clean. I'd get rid of that.
  2. I'd make my mom smarter. Then she would know it was my sister who did t and not me.
  3. I would like for her to get rid of those invisible eyes on the back of her head.

just thought it was funny!

Nooooooooo! I missed the thread title controversy! Bollocks

Daisy, hope dd is ok. Much love to you and your family. You poor loves xxx

lackaDAISYcal · 25/04/2008 12:30

bloody hell, i leave you lot alone for a day and all hell breaks loose. It's been aaaaaaages since we caused a stir. I'm just pleased that I'm on the november cheese one that got a mention too

IV ABs = Rocket fuel for babies.....DD is charging around like a thing posessed

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 25/04/2008 12:31

Are you ok daisy?

lackaDAISYcal · 25/04/2008 12:35

DD is fine. Fairly sure it isn't meningitis or some other nasty blood poisining type thing. they think the force of the vomitting caused the blood blistery rash, and that the force of it combined with the fluid loss made her system go into shock. Fucking scary though. she was like a rag doll, and wasn't focussing or anything.

Her inital blood tests were clear, and we're waiting on the blood cultures coming back tomorrow, but they said if it was anything more sinister she wouldn't have bounced back so quickly. Horrible today when they did the ABs though. Her leg is all bruised and sore and she was screaming the place down as the drugs went in. Fingers crossed bloods will be clear and she won't need any more tomorrow. She wouldn't look at me afterwards as I was holding her while the nurse pushed it through.

lackaDAISYcal · 25/04/2008 12:37

Me, i'm a gibbering wreck. It hasn't really sunk in yet, but I honestly thought she was on her way out yesterday . I've never seen such a poorly baby.

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 25/04/2008 12:39

Oh, poor dd and poor you! That must have been really scary. Glad she has bounced back well though xx

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 25/04/2008 12:40

I can only imagine what you must have been through. The thought of it makes me feel sick. How are dh and ds?

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 25/04/2008 12:55

Glad you're home and DD is ok Daisy. Sounds really scary. It's amazing though how quickly they can make remarkable recovery though isn't it? Meanwhile poor Mummy is still quivering with the aftershock of it all.

Sputnik · 25/04/2008 12:55

Daisy, so glad to hear DD is ok again, that must have been really frightening.
I hope you have a large amount of chocolate to help your body recover from the shock.

NattyEcoWarriorPrincess · 25/04/2008 13:03

ah daisy sorry to hear that, you must have been so worried. i remember when thomas got a terrible bug jan last year and he went all floppy and wouldnt look at me, was staring into space and not responding. it was really scary, so i know how you feel. hope all is well with results xx

NattyEcoWarriorPrincess · 25/04/2008 13:04

mmmm chocolate... daisy want someone to "get over the shock" with??

lackaDAISYcal · 25/04/2008 13:15

thanks for all your lovely words guys

thankfully Dh had only left the house 15 mins before she woke up and was able to deal wiht DS and thencome to the hospital. I would've beed a real wreck if I'd had to deal with that alone.

Medicinal chocolate has been consumed by the barrowload. I even allowed myself a small whisy when we got home last night.

Off to deal with DDs nappy...I can sme;ll it from the other side of the room. Bad tummy bug nappies, plus strong ABs do not a happy mummy make at nappy change time

Lolling at the "other" thread. Obviously a quite day on MN if a silly thread title is all people have to get worked up about.

BumperliciousNeedsToSleep · 25/04/2008 13:45

Hi daisy, glad dd is ok.

took dd to the doc's, she has a chest infection, poor lamb, lord know's how long for . I feel terrible for not taking her sooner. still, she's got some yummy banana medicine to wash down now!

NattyEcoWarriorPrincess · 25/04/2008 13:46

does n e one fancy a wife swap? i wanna show DH that he is lucky to have me

NattyEcoWarriorPrincess · 25/04/2008 13:49

bumper dont feel bad, chest infections are in a group of illnesses hard to detect unless ur a doc (ie ear infections sinus infections) you werent to know, alot of parents have no idea until the child is hospitalised so at least you took her thats the important thing xxx

andiem · 25/04/2008 13:57

daisy so pleased to here all is well and dd is now on the mend

bumper hugs for you and your dd once the abs kick in she will feel much better it is a thin line between virus snotty/chest infection so don't feel bad

NattyEcoWarriorPrincess · 25/04/2008 13:59

well put andiem x

lackaDAISYcal · 25/04/2008 14:12

poor babybumper , i hope she's feeling better soon.

that banana stuff really takes me back to my childhood; one whiff of it, and I'm right there on the sofa with the duvet over me and being pampered. (I had a bad chest as a child and was always off with one infection or another)

BumperliciousNeedsToSleep · 25/04/2008 14:27

Well the abs seem to have knocked her out. she's asleep in her carseat and we've been in an hour, which is unheard of.

Sorry about your nappies natty!

Izzybel · 25/04/2008 15:19

Hey!
DD just gone down for a nap so thought I'd come and bore talk to you ladies. Doesn't look like anyone is around though .

Daisy, thank goodness your DD is ok! It must have been terribly scary being in hospital with her. Hope she feels better.
Bumper, don't feel bad. Babies are always getting colds and snotty noses. It's hard to tell where one ends and another begins!
DD had a cold a few weeks back. My mum said "ooh, you'd best take her to the doctor." My reply was, "what, for a cold!" My mum made me feel so guilty that I ended up taking her anyway. She was put on the banana antibiotics too. I wouldn't have even taken her either, it was only because my mum said . Hope your DD gets better soon!
That banana stuff takes me back to childhood too. I was always on the stuff! It had sugar in it then, though.

Well ladies, you certainly kicked ass on that thread! Natty, I think the 'Warrior' part of your new nickname is kicking in.
So are you lot always causing stirs with your thread titles?
I can't believe other MNers get wound up about them! Saddos!
