ah sparkly new thread.. i spotted this on my friends face book and had to share it:

WHY GOD MADE MOMS
Answers are given by 2nd grade school children to the following questions:

Why did God make mothers?

  1. She's the only one who knows where the scotch tape is.
  2. Mostly to clean the house.
  3. To help us out of there when we were getting born.

How did God make mothers?

  1. He used dirt, just like for the rest of us.
  2. Magic plus super powers and a lot of stirring.
  3. God made my Mom just the same like he made me. He just used bigger parts.

What ingredients are mothers made of ?

  1. God makes mothers out of clouds and angel hair and everything nice in the world and one dab of mean.
  2. They had to get their start from men's bones. Then they mostly use string, I think.

Why did God give you your mother and not some other mom?

  1. We're related.
  2. God knew she likes me a lot more than other people's moms like me.

What kind of little girl was your mom?

  1. My Mom has always been my mom and none of that other stuff.
  2. I don't know because I wasn't there, but my guess would be pretty bossy.
  3. They say she used to be nice.

What did mom need to know about dad before she married him?

  1. His last name.
  2. She had to know his background. Like is he a crook? Does he get drunk on beer?
  3. Does he make at least $800 a year? Did he say NO to drugs and YES to chores?

Why did your mom marry your dad?

  1. My dad makes the best spaghetti in the world. And my Mom eats a lot.
  2. She got too old to do anything else with him.
  3. My grandma says that Mom didn't have her thinking cap on. Ha ha ha ha!!!

Who's the boss at your house?

  1. Mom doesn't want to be boss, but she has to because dad's such a goof ball.
  2. Mom. You can tell by room inspection. She sees the stuff under the bed.
  3. I guess Mom is, but only because she has a lot more to do than dad.

What's the difference between moms & dads?

  1. Moms work at work and work at home and dads just go to work at work.
  2. Moms know how to talk to teachers without scaring them.
  3. Dads are taller & stronger, but moms have all the real power 'cause that's who you got to ask if you want to sleep over at your friend's
  4. Moms have magic, they make you feel better without medicine.
What does your mom do in her spare time?
  1. Mothers don't do spare time.
  2. To hear her tell it, she pays bills all day long.

What would it take to make your mom perfect?

  1. On the inside she's already perfect. Outside, I think some kind of plastic surgery.
  2. Diet. You know, her hair. I'd diet, maybe blue.

If you could change one thing about your mom, what would it be?

  1. She has this weird thing about me keeping my room clean. I'd get rid of that.
  2. I'd make my mom smarter. Then she would know it was my sister who did t and not me.
  3. I would like for her to get rid of those invisible eyes on the back of her head.

just thought it was funny!

Sputnik · 24/04/2008 21:42

Natty, it's here

NattyEcoWarriorPrincess · 24/04/2008 21:45

ok ive had my say....

NattyEcoWarriorPrincess · 24/04/2008 21:56

where everyone go?

justbeme · 24/04/2008 22:07

Im here - for a wee bit longer.
How are the nappies going Natty?

God Im sooooooo bored by my Ex sending me texts about my non payment of £££ - I asked him "what part of Im not working" dont you understand? Its horrible having to have contact with a Toser because you had a child with them.

NattyEcoWarriorPrincess · 24/04/2008 22:10

nappies are going great, day 4 and only a few accidents (usually my fault for not putting them together properly)

sorry to hear u getting trouble of ex. im confused he wants money of you? does he have ur child full time then?

justbeme · 24/04/2008 22:18

Yes - unfortunately - she's a stubborn one!!
Dont think theres many house rules there, so she's loving it.

Im really into my Bumgenius nappies - managed to buy them on BOGOF - got 12 of them - but tend to use motherease ones for nightime (have 5 of those). So they cost me £115 for 17 nappies - minus the councils £40 cashback - not bad considering there one size ones! I dread to think how much I'd spend on reuseables over a few years!

justbeme · 24/04/2008 22:27

Im such an idiot - I left my 2 Ikea blue bags in the supermarket trolley this week - I loved using them for my shopping - Does anyone know how much they are to buy from Ikea? Are they 50p or something? - Because there are sellers on Ebay doing them -I dont want to get ripped off - but I hardly ever go to Ikea (for obvious reasons!!)

andiem · 25/04/2008 07:43

jbm they are 50p in ikea I will be going in the next fortnight if you want me to get you some I could post them

only one night waking here major achievement

Seansgirlthesequel · 25/04/2008 08:15

Sorry to hear about your ex JB. Well done Natty defending out title

Well another wet miserable morning here, and I have woken up with a rash all over my arms, legs and some of my body no other symptoms, can't say I'm an allergic type of person ... but WTF? Thankfully DCs and DH seem spot free

BumperliciousNeedsToSleep · 25/04/2008 08:21

Morning all.

Hope the rash doesn't come to anything SG.

I might take DD to the doctors, she has had a cold for 2 weeks and it seems to be getting worse. She has a hacking cough and snot pouring from her nose. Is it worth taking her do you think?

andiem · 25/04/2008 08:37

bumper I would take her my motto is always better to be safe etc etc

sg have you changed washing powder hope it gets better soon

daisy hope all is ok with dd thinking of you

BumperliciousNeedsToSleep · 25/04/2008 08:50

Daisy's DD is out of hospital and is much better. They still don't know what it is though.

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 25/04/2008 08:51

SG have you had a cold or any other viral illness? I sometimes come out in a rash as a reaction to a virus, typically just as the symptoms of the virus are disappearing. Which reminds me I ought to get some piriton in incase, as my cold is now coming to an end.

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 25/04/2008 08:54

Phew! for the Daisys.

And JBM, sorry your ex is being a twunt.

Sputnik · 25/04/2008 09:38

Bumper, if it's getting worse then better take her.

Sputnik · 25/04/2008 09:39

Great news about Daisy's DD.

Seansgirl, I was going to ask if you'd been in the sun, then thought better of it

BumperliciousNeedsToSleep · 25/04/2008 09:44

I've got an appointment for the dr's. I was supposed to meet a friend at a baby group as well, but thought if she's not well enough to need the dr's then ther other mother's probably won't thank me for taking her and spreading her germs.

Seansgirlthesequel · 25/04/2008 10:55

Glad to hear about Daisy's DD, hopefully she should be getting better soon.

Think best to take her Bumper, if nothing it can put your mind at rest.

Andi, no haven't changed my washing powder, Sputnik what a daft thought, sun? Pah! , but Jammy yes have had some really weird virus last week, perhaps its that.

My school friend said perhaps its slapped cheek (she said this whilst stepping back), went to dr who said that it wasn't slapped check would probably be a virus thats leaving my body and should clear up soon.

foxythesnowfox · 25/04/2008 11:00

don't fear slapped cheek. Its just a sore throat with a rash virus. Instills fear because it sounds bad , but is, infact no biggie.

Morning all.

Sorry, disappeared last night - I'm fine thanks DKMA. Will need to pick your brains shortly!

I got LOADS done this morning, and am not here. Really.

Right, off to dye my hair and get rid of the grey. Make a lasagne and fish pie for the weekend and de-fuzz. I have to shut down the PC or I'll be arsing around on here, and I wasted the entire day on here yesterday!

Where is the 'off' button?

foxythesnowfox · 25/04/2008 11:02

Bumper - LOs cough and cold lasted 2 weeks. As did DPs. Guess which was the worse patient?

Oh. Am I still here? Arse.

Seansgirlthesequel · 25/04/2008 11:13

Thanks Foxy, have been treated like i have the lurgy by my friend and my mum this morning!

Hope you've managed to switch off!

NattyEcoWarriorPrincess · 25/04/2008 12:04

kids have got runny bums this morning, so im a bad mother and returned to disposables (to be fair im using leftover ones not buying any new ones) i feel awful

both of mine we up and down all night, tom was in bed with us from 5am. i had doctors this morning for more anitdepressants, and she went through my blood results and i am STILL anemic.. for gods sake ellen is nearly one and im still suffering from the pregnancy!!

NattyEcoWarriorPrincess · 25/04/2008 12:11

thanks seansgirl.. just re-read what i posted.. sounds quite good! yay me defending my thread title! i spit at those moody MNters!!

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 25/04/2008 12:14

I saw the gp this morning for more ADs too Natty.

And later we went swimming. But being the jellyhead mummy that I am I left the bag with dry undies for me and top for the jamlet at home. So I am now "commando" and the jamlet had to put her coat on with no top underneath. Ah well, it wasn't far to come home like that. It was the first time we'd been swimming in months and she seemed to enjoy it, though did cling quite tightly to me once we got out of the baby's bit (where she can sit down and play) and into the main pool. Was fascinated by watching some older children jumping in from the pool edge though.

Bumper, hope DD is OK, and all others with snotty/spotty/generally poorly LOs.
