ah sparkly new thread.. i spotted this on my friends face book and had to share it:

WHY GOD MADE MOMS
Answers are given by 2nd grade school children to the following questions:

Why did God make mothers?

  1. She's the only one who knows where the scotch tape is.
  2. Mostly to clean the house.
  3. To help us out of there when we were getting born.

How did God make mothers?

  1. He used dirt, just like for the rest of us.
  2. Magic plus super powers and a lot of stirring.
  3. God made my Mom just the same like he made me. He just used bigger parts.

What ingredients are mothers made of ?

  1. God makes mothers out of clouds and angel hair and everything nice in the world and one dab of mean.
  2. They had to get their start from men's bones. Then they mostly use string, I think.

Why did God give you your mother and not some other mom?

  1. We're related.
  2. God knew she likes me a lot more than other people's moms like me.

What kind of little girl was your mom?

  1. My Mom has always been my mom and none of that other stuff.
  2. I don't know because I wasn't there, but my guess would be pretty bossy.
  3. They say she used to be nice.

What did mom need to know about dad before she married him?

  1. His last name.
  2. She had to know his background. Like is he a crook? Does he get drunk on beer?
  3. Does he make at least $800 a year? Did he say NO to drugs and YES to chores?

Why did your mom marry your dad?

  1. My dad makes the best spaghetti in the world. And my Mom eats a lot.
  2. She got too old to do anything else with him.
  3. My grandma says that Mom didn't have her thinking cap on. Ha ha ha ha!!!

Who's the boss at your house?

  1. Mom doesn't want to be boss, but she has to because dad's such a goof ball.
  2. Mom. You can tell by room inspection. She sees the stuff under the bed.
  3. I guess Mom is, but only because she has a lot more to do than dad.

What's the difference between moms & dads?

  1. Moms work at work and work at home and dads just go to work at work.
  2. Moms know how to talk to teachers without scaring them.
  3. Dads are taller & stronger, but moms have all the real power 'cause that's who you got to ask if you want to sleep over at your friend's
  4. Moms have magic, they make you feel better without medicine.
What does your mom do in her spare time?
  1. Mothers don't do spare time.
  2. To hear her tell it, she pays bills all day long.

What would it take to make your mom perfect?

  1. On the inside she's already perfect. Outside, I think some kind of plastic surgery.
  2. Diet. You know, her hair. I'd diet, maybe blue.

If you could change one thing about your mom, what would it be?

  1. She has this weird thing about me keeping my room clean. I'd get rid of that.
  2. I'd make my mom smarter. Then she would know it was my sister who did t and not me.
  3. I would like for her to get rid of those invisible eyes on the back of her head.

just thought it was funny!

'ello!

Hope everyone is well. Trying to catch up with some MN and other stuff whilst my dp is watching the footie!

Off to catch up now if my dcs will let me. Back in a min!

BumperliciousNeedsToSleep · 23/04/2008 20:31

Evenin' all!

Ria, Sputnik, sorry you are having gloomy days.

SG, glad you bought your old name back.

I am afraid we can't afford the trip to London and the zoo on our budget at the moment. We went on a 2-4-1 a few months ago actually. Natty, they are also doing 2-4-1 on boxes of cocopops.

Tough day here. DD has been biting me when feeding, not badly but starting to have a nibble, when I feed her before work, and this morning she refused to feed and just bit me instead. Plus I am not expressing much as I was. Is this the beginning of the end of bfing? DH says she has been really clingy today too. Not sure what's up with her. She has slept through for the past two nights though, but she has not gone longer than 2 in the past 6 weeks, so fingers crossed tonight. The only difference is that she has been going down awake. She has a bit of a cry (is that normal?) but only for a couple of minutes.

Anyway, I missed the rabbit talk? You know I'm the expert. In fact I have just had to replace my fave toy for the second time as it died from over use (for the record overuse with DH - TMI I know but I didn't want you questioning his abilities!)

LittleMissNorty · 23/04/2008 20:44

Evening all - just a quickie to say hello and I'm off to catch up - will try and get back but its the apprentice tonight ...my fave....

Glad DD is sleeping Bumper

HellHathNoFury · 23/04/2008 20:46

lol daisy
I emailed her

shame no-one else is up for the zoo

Sputnik · 23/04/2008 20:53

Dno't worry, not so much a gloomy day as a stressful one.

I am sort of still on a health kick SG, losing weight very slowly, but surely. And exercising quite a bit. In fact DH says my lower half is unrecognisable! Also I've stopped drinking almost completely, was just drinking at weekends, but most of the time don't feel like it even then any more. Very strange for me.

lackaDAISYcal · 23/04/2008 20:54

lol bumper....way, way, way TMI!

DD has a bit of a cry when we put her down at first. she gives in easily though!

Is she teething? This was when DD started to bite me.....and it only happened before the teeth came in; once they were through it stopped.

don't take the amount you can express as an indocator it's nearly the end. OK, it might be the end of expressing, and she will need to have formula on the days you are at work; but you can still BF her when you are there. By this time your boobs will be able to cope with even just one feed a day and still make milk. I've been mix feeding for two months now, and it's only because of the pregnancy that things are starting to dry up now. Don't lose heart and go and talk to tiktok et al on the BFing threads.

Lol fury when I read it I thought you might have a story for all cases, given your prediliction for your colleagues

Am off for the Apprentice. Will be found on here all day tomorrow as DH is away....yay

BumperliciousNeedsToSleep · 23/04/2008 20:54

Wow sputnik, that's great!

Seansgirlthesequel · 23/04/2008 20:59

Yay! For baby Bumper sleeping all night - good girl! Not so yay for biting Mummy ouch! Bumper I bf DD until 9.5months (yes me of the formula side this time) and when she started laughing and playing with my nipple I called it a day! Btw, welcome to the Rabbit Club!! Daisy am I wrong in thinking you have a Rabbit?

Hey Fury you'll have a great time at the zoo, mujst say it is somewhere would love to go but will be off to Devon that weekend. Went to Longleat recently - that was fab can recommend though it is frighteningly expensive!!!

foxythesnowfox · 23/04/2008 21:00

when are you going to the zoo?

Oh bugger, you're all watching the apprentice aren't you?

foxythesnowfox · 23/04/2008 21:01

crikey! x-post with all of you

HellHathNoFury · 23/04/2008 21:03

24th May Foxy - come!!

Seansgirlthesequel · 23/04/2008 21:03

Sputnik Well done you! Am awe of the not drinking, she says wine glass in hand! Have really turned to food/drink last few months when stressed! Which is a shame as lost 1.5 stone before xmas. Still kept it off but need to loose loads more..... need to sort it out. Anyone on weight watchers?

foxythesnowfox · 23/04/2008 21:03

yes Bumper LO has a wee shout before sleeping. She's definately getting used to it. Last night I didn't put her to bed, she'd had jabs and co-slept. The night before she slept 12 hours in her own bed .

We'll see what happens tonight.

Seansgirlthesequel · 23/04/2008 21:04

I am not watching it it bores me!

foxythesnowfox · 23/04/2008 21:05

no weightwatchers meetings near me SG or I would. I heart WW

Seansgirlthesequel · 23/04/2008 21:07

Really? Would have thought there would be loads as (i think) you live in the city? (or am I dreaming)

foxythesnowfox · 23/04/2008 21:11

There's a shortage of leaders. I was going to do it, but LO had her weight-gain issues and I started to scoff (purely for my babies sake, you understand ) and put lots on again! you have to be within 7 pounds of your target or at goal.

i will do it. one day.

HellHathNoFury · 23/04/2008 21:13

I just had nutella on toast
WITH BUTTER!!

foxythesnowfox · 23/04/2008 21:14

I don't get butter and nutella.

Hope it was white, stodgy, thick bread

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 23/04/2008 21:16

Well I'm done working for the night. Wasn't overly productive I had a paper to read and I just couldn't get my head round it.

Bumper, milk production is a funny old game, especially when it comes to expressing. When I'm at work I normally express twice a day, about 15 minutes a time, and have been getting 80 - 100 ml each time. However, on monday this week, I went down for my morning "pump" and after 20 minutes I only had about 10 ml I had taken the pump apart and reassembled it 3 times, but there was nothing wrong with it, the milk just wasn't coming. I went back a couple of hours later and tried again and got 100 ml in about 10 minutes!

Seansgirlthesequel · 23/04/2008 21:17

HAAHAAA Have worked the feckin link thing ...are these mummsie?

Seansgirlthesequel · 23/04/2008 21:19

Don't get nutella really. But good on you Fury, am toying with jam or pate myself........

HellHathNoFury · 23/04/2008 21:20

yes foxy, it was. And stale at that.
But I deserved it. DS projectile vommed today all over the floor, me, dog and himself and it smelled VILE. This is in addition to the 7 runny nappies today.
I don't think he is better yet.

Seansgirlthesequel · 23/04/2008 21:22

Am strongly considering these as well less mummsie but comfy i feel
