ah sparkly new thread.. i spotted this on my friends face book and had to share it:

WHY GOD MADE MOMS
Answers are given by 2nd grade school children to the following questions:

Why did God make mothers?

  1. She's the only one who knows where the scotch tape is.
  2. Mostly to clean the house.
  3. To help us out of there when we were getting born.

How did God make mothers?

  1. He used dirt, just like for the rest of us.
  2. Magic plus super powers and a lot of stirring.
  3. God made my Mom just the same like he made me. He just used bigger parts.

What ingredients are mothers made of ?

  1. God makes mothers out of clouds and angel hair and everything nice in the world and one dab of mean.
  2. They had to get their start from men's bones. Then they mostly use string, I think.

Why did God give you your mother and not some other mom?

  1. We're related.
  2. God knew she likes me a lot more than other people's moms like me.

What kind of little girl was your mom?

  1. My Mom has always been my mom and none of that other stuff.
  2. I don't know because I wasn't there, but my guess would be pretty bossy.
  3. They say she used to be nice.

What did mom need to know about dad before she married him?

  1. His last name.
  2. She had to know his background. Like is he a crook? Does he get drunk on beer?
  3. Does he make at least $800 a year? Did he say NO to drugs and YES to chores?

Why did your mom marry your dad?

  1. My dad makes the best spaghetti in the world. And my Mom eats a lot.
  2. She got too old to do anything else with him.
  3. My grandma says that Mom didn't have her thinking cap on. Ha ha ha ha!!!

Who's the boss at your house?

  1. Mom doesn't want to be boss, but she has to because dad's such a goof ball.
  2. Mom. You can tell by room inspection. She sees the stuff under the bed.
  3. I guess Mom is, but only because she has a lot more to do than dad.

What's the difference between moms & dads?

  1. Moms work at work and work at home and dads just go to work at work.
  2. Moms know how to talk to teachers without scaring them.
  3. Dads are taller & stronger, but moms have all the real power 'cause that's who you got to ask if you want to sleep over at your friend's
  4. Moms have magic, they make you feel better without medicine.
What does your mom do in her spare time?
  1. Mothers don't do spare time.
  2. To hear her tell it, she pays bills all day long.

What would it take to make your mom perfect?

  1. On the inside she's already perfect. Outside, I think some kind of plastic surgery.
  2. Diet. You know, her hair. I'd diet, maybe blue.

If you could change one thing about your mom, what would it be?

  1. She has this weird thing about me keeping my room clean. I'd get rid of that.
  2. I'd make my mom smarter. Then she would know it was my sister who did t and not me.
  3. I would like for her to get rid of those invisible eyes on the back of her head.

just thought it was funny!

Ooooo, they're nice

Seansgirlthesequel · 23/04/2008 21:24

Blimey Fury no doesn't sound it. Poor little thing. Right off to grace DH with presence (and my toast - I blame you Fury)

Seansgirlthesequel · 23/04/2008 21:24

Thank you Jammy (think I will order them she thinks)

HellHathNoFury · 23/04/2008 21:25

I'm going to bed now.

Hopefully I won't hear my alarm and time will stand still and DS will sleep.

Seansgirlthesequel · 23/04/2008 21:26

LOL Fury. Maybe you never know.. Hav ea good night what ever

HellHathNoFury · 23/04/2008 21:27

Night SG. Good luck with the shoes!

Sputnik · 23/04/2008 21:29

I just had strawberries and greek yogurt, yum.
I went off the wine when I noticed it affected my ability to cope with 5 hours sleep. Also, if I don't drink it frees up some calories for chocolate consumption!

Agree with what everyone else said about the bf Bumper, you get to this point you can continue with very few feeds per day, I did that with DD for ages.

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 23/04/2008 21:35

I'm off to bed now. Hopefully the jamlet will reproduce last night 7-7 sleep?

Sputnik · 23/04/2008 21:44

Cant see either of those shoe links. Slow internet tonight, grr

justbeme · 23/04/2008 22:15

I come on and you all go to bed!! Hmphh!
Im sure I read somewhere about biting and teething Bumper - so it could soon pass. L does it abit to me.

We've finally booked our hols tonight - weymouth and Torquay - one week in a Caravan with Ria's mob!! (only its privately owned and cost £68K apparently!!) and another week in a hotel weve been to before- dinner bed and brekkie!! Yayyy!

Had L's 8mth (late) check up yesterday - she's 68.5cm tall (shorty!) and 16lb 15oz - but all in proportion! How big is Foxy cub now? I think everyone elses Lo's are bigger arent they?

lackaDAISYcal · 23/04/2008 22:16

SG, I like the first sandals.....I'd call them practial rather than mumsie tho'

second link not working.

Sputnik, I x-posted with you earlier; that's great on the figure changing difference you've made. Maybe....one day......I'm looking six months pregnant already...oh well ...Ria, I hope you're feeling brighter.

foxy, how is LOs weight now? and I meant to say earlier well done the foxcubs on their 5m badges and boo hiss to your "mate" for being so dismissive. Thankfully all our good friends who have DCs are all pretty supportive, although I suppose the age differences are such that there's no competitiveness. The closest in age to DS is 9mo older so even at this age is still streets ahead. It might be different with some of the baby group mums as DD gets older though!

ermmmmmm....hey jammy...I used to find that with expressing as well.

fury, I'd love to do London Zoo, but that is DSs birthday weekend so no can do. Are we still on for a big summer meet though?

NattyEcoWarriorPrincess · 23/04/2008 23:00

hi guys anyone about still?

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 24/04/2008 06:47

Morning!
Yes SG, it was the 1st sandals I liked, couldn't see the 2nd ones.
BTW, someone mentioned the length of their LO. Have other LOs' lengths been measured at all? (At birth or since). The jamlet has never been measured, even at birth.

andiem · 24/04/2008 08:26

morning all

childminding here again today as strike on so off to wisley in the rain to meet some other mums

we had a better night here only 2 wakings and a sleep through from 1 to 6

can't do london zoo that day as we are off on hols for half term week but would love summer meet up

andiem · 24/04/2008 08:27

jammy ds2 was measured at birth but not since

BumperliciousNeedsToSleep · 24/04/2008 08:31

Morning,

jammy DD only been measured once. DH tried to weigh her yesterday and reckons she's about 18lbs - but that's not very accurate!

Foxy, I too forgot to congratulate the foxcubs! Well done them! Not sure whether your friend realised she was being insensitive? I'd get her back by telling her you don't want to be a pushy mum, and it's better to give children more realistic goals so they grow up with a sense of achievement rather than feeling like they constantly have to strive to do one better to please everyone else.

Not only did DD sleep all night (well, except for a short cry around 12) but she is still asleep! Of course I woke up about half seven in a panic and couldn't get back to sleep!

We are hopefully going to bounce and rhyme this morning (yawn - but one of my friends will be there).

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 24/04/2008 08:58

Does anyone know how much water to add to cornflour to make the right consistency for playing with? They had a load at the group yesterday, but there was too much to risk letting her play with (the chances of her upending the lot over the floor were just too high) but thought if I could make a small batch we could try it at home (I'm feeling brave).

HellHathNoFury · 24/04/2008 09:35

morning all.

I have been selected to give an interview for that woman Daisy. Could be fun, she seems really nice at any rate. No money in it, obviously.

Once I have read the proof etc I'll give you the details.

DS seems a bit healthier this morning.

I'd love to do a summer meet up - will it likely be a weekend? Who is going to 'organise'?

Seansgirlthesequel · 24/04/2008 09:39

Sorry Jammy no I don't know, DD used to enjoy that at nursery, yu are feeling very brave

Well done LO Bumper! Ds not far behind managed 6.30 until 5.15. Refused to go back to sleep then, but was reasonably quiet in cot amusing himself... thats my boy!

Right am trying that second link again

working?

So that appears to be working on the preview

andiem · 24/04/2008 09:45

sg second pair get my vote

Sputnik · 24/04/2008 09:48

Well, while my bum is certainly improved I still have a long way to go tummy wise. Incidentally when DH made that comment he followed it straight up with "even in those horrible trousers", and "mind you, you really were in a bad state". Men, eh

Sputnik · 24/04/2008 09:56

SG the second pair are prettier, but I would go for the first myself as I can't handle toe posts and white is impractical.

Hell, get both, 1 for casual, 1 for smarter ocasions.

Actually, I'm pondering trying to overcome my toe-post aversion, as they're nearly all like that these days.

andiem · 24/04/2008 10:00

sputnik my dh is a bit like that commenting on what I eat in spite of the fact I have lost all the weight and not put it back on again

right off out for the day but has just started raining pants

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 24/04/2008 10:12

I'd still go for the 1st pair personally SG. But that's just me. And anyway I have deformed toes so sandals scare me.

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 24/04/2008 10:13

And I answered my question with this
