can I be really dense again? When a post reads "message deleted at posters request", does that mean you've posted and aked to have it remoced, or does it mean you types a post, changed your mind and deleted it before you posted?

I had yr 6 at lunch and it was lovely weather so am

Ria I clicked on the red exclamation mark and asked for it to be deleted as I accidentally typed DD's name. It's quite unusual so it could be linked to the RL me.

MHC he does most of it, though I get her up and bf her in the morning and leave them both in bed. (unfortunately he is up too early to get her up for me when he works). he does keep saying "have you got the milk out of the freezer?" which I keep ignoring as that's his job. I'm the one who usually does the shopping so I make sure there is enough food for her. If there wasn't he would probably just feed her toast

erm
bumlove?
Or do I just not want my worst fears confirmed?

lackaDAISYcal · 10/04/2008 14:12

it was nice here, but then I've just had to g bring the washing in in the middle of a hailstorm..f...f....f....freezing.

bumper, i noticed your uncharacteristic post with DDs name in it!

mhc, I have no visible surface veins and have always had problems giving blood. When I had the bloods done for my coeliac testing it took one doctor, three nurses, then finally the ex-nurse turned practice manager (who i thought was just the receptionist) to all have a go before they got any. She said that your veins can go into shock if they know what's coming, but that's odd as I'm not afraid of needles or anything!

lackaDAISYcal · 10/04/2008 14:15

I like the sound of a virtual doula I should move back to KDY for the birth so you can be my actual doula and help fight off the consultants wielding the knife!

MHC don't worry about it
At least not from my perspective
I usually say FAR worse things than that and can generally be relied upon to lower the tone. I thought it was funny, actually.

lackaDAISYcal · 10/04/2008 14:57

mhc, I've been on the VBAC threads here and have lots of links to look at. Have also been chatting with Klaw (was she your doula?) and Lulumama.

andiem · 10/04/2008 14:59

afternoon lovely ladies

have just taken dcs to swings and they are now doing speed stacking

lo loves having another older one around
have to get the cat in a minute waiting for the vet to ring

daisy are you sure you want a vbac after having two one very traumatic I would be begging for a section

bumper your dh sounds fab as though he is really getting into the swing of it all

hi fury dirty stopout

mhc are you doing your bf course?

lackaDAISYcal · 10/04/2008 14:59

what is dehiscion. one link talked about de-hiescence (also sp?) and I was a bit clueless!

oops school run time....literally and fecking great it's hailing again!

RiaisMaLarkin · 10/04/2008 14:59

I thought it was funny too. But then I'm not known for my "normal" sense of humour.

So now I know at least. DO they always delete if you click the red exclamation mark then, or only if they think you're worthy?

Wish I'd seen your post though as I think I'm the only one who doesn't know your DDs name and I am SO nosey.

Just had a 10 minute tidy out in the garage - I need to do a car boot sale...

Afternoon, we're having some quiet time, with the jamlet asleep on my lap and FIL asleep on the other sofa.

I also laughed at the bumlove post.

Well my hair is cut and all straightened and smart looking for a change (it's usually quite unkempt looking). Just hope that my new togs make me look worthy of a nice night out. BTW we're not actually paying for it (apart from if we have cheese & biscuits). It's a gift from DH's work for long service

andiem · 10/04/2008 15:32

jammy have a lovely lovely evening

mhc am applying to do peer support with abfm with a view to doing bfc next now I am sahm feel I should use my skills in a productive manner

lackaDAISYcal · 10/04/2008 15:49

ooooh, jammy, we need photos

i've just filld out my application for peer supporter training. It's a 2-day course running in June. Am v excited, as once i've done that I'm going to do the nct course.

lol andiem, my first birth was very traumatic as well, hence the elective last time. but, I breezed the BFing (my other big failure point from 1st time around), so have an idea that I'll be all barefoot and pregnant and hippy with no pain relief at all this time around! We shall see......My MW isn't exactly supportive, but I plan on hiring a doula this time around! I left it a bit late to get someone last time so i'll do it much further in advance this time around. I just need to convince DH that it'll be money well spent. mhc, if you know of any doulas in my part of world.......

lilQuidditchKel · 10/04/2008 16:04

ooh Daisy I like the sound of a Doula too, should I ever do this childbirth thing again. Like you I had a traumatic 1st birth, and elecive section for 2nd. However I think the CS was farking brilliant -- recovered in 2-3 days and so stress-free..

uh oh devilish DS is disassembling the Sky box.

his language is still worrying me so v v interested to hear what the therapist has to say tomorrow when I chat to her. Am def certain it will be 'he's only just turned 2, he's in a bilingual home, don't worry' but I DO WORRY ALL THE TIME!!!! Sorry for shouting but I'm really v frustrated with it all. Seems I'm surrounded by DS's mates speaking in complete sentances and he sounds a right dolt with only 10 words - on a good day -

lackaDAISYcal · 10/04/2008 16:15

lilkel, our friend's daughter is bilingual (english/japanese) and as i recall she seemed a lot further behind than our other friend's daughter who was six months younger. friend said it is usual for bilingual dcs to be like this. At four though she has more than made up for it and can hold her own in conversations in both languages...and often switches between the two just ot confuse the grown-ups who can't understand japanese

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 10/04/2008 16:17

Hello everyone!

Hope you are all well.

I'm having a bit of a tough time atm. Ds is walking and is a pest and a half. He will also only sleep for about half an hour at a time all through the night. Last night he was screaming for most of the night with small naps in between, so I got about 3 hours sleep. Needless to say I feel like a big pile of shit today! I am desperate to get him sleeping through in his own room, but how I'm going to do it is a mystery! I refuse to do CC, but I don't know how to help him to sleep.

Daisy, how are you? I bet you are exhausted. I can't imagine being pg and dealing with ds. You have my sympathy!

Lilkel, we went to stay with some friends over the weekend and they have a 2.1 yo dd. She cannot really talk at all. She says lots of strange words that only her mum can understand and the usual mum, dad, cat, dog etc., but she can't string two words together at all. Her hv isn't concerned about her at all though, and has just said that some babies talk later than others. Hope you get some answers from the therapist and can put your mind at ease.

Hello to everyone else. I can't face reading the rest of the thread, so sorry if I've missed anything.

lackaDAISYcal · 10/04/2008 16:18

do you know any other bilingual kids? I know that friend used to take her DD to a japanese playgroup where all the kiddies were in a similar place developmentally. I think it helped them see that she was OK.

lackaDAISYcal · 10/04/2008 16:21

hey holly, I was wondering where you'd got to

walking . and the sleeping...OMG you por thing. are you still co-sleeping? would him being in his own bed help? thankfully DD is content to potter around on the floor for the moment, and so far I've not been feeling too bad. I've pretty much stopped the Bfing over the last couple of days though and the MS has kicked in so that may change!

lackaDAISYcal · 10/04/2008 16:23

what are they teaching DS at that school of his. he was looking at some nick nacks that came from my mums. One of them i mentioned was quite old as i'd bought it for my nana when I was a little girl. He said "wow, it's a hundred years old" in a slightly over-awed tone . am gutted, he thinks i'm over a hundred!

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 10/04/2008 16:27

Oh, you poor thing. MS is the worst thing in the whole world! Hope it passes quickly.

We are still co-sleeping and I know that is the problem. We tend to wake each other up I think and then I just bf him back to sleep. This happens many times during the night. I really want to get him in his cot, but I just don't know how. He just screams his head off whenever I put him in there and I don't have the energy to try any sleep training. It's a shit.

I am doing peer supporter training in june too and then hopefully go on to do the NCT counsellor training. It'll be really good a few of us doing it at the same time. I am really looking forward to it.
