Well we are back, a little soggy and worn out, but we've had a lovely day. During Staffordshire term times (which are different to here - hurray) you can get a parent and toddler ticket for £14 and my friends dh gave me a voucher for £4 off so it only cost us a tenner! C has had a fantastic day - he loves Thomas and was in heaven. He was amazed to see the Fat Controller walking round. All the rides are perfect for little ones and he went on everything he wanted. He had the time of his life bless him. All the rides are obviously based on Thomas and you can ride on Thomas too. The Thomas train takes you to the zoo and a fantastic Spencer-themed playground which is huge and perfect for little legs. We are exhausted but C will definitely fall asleep happy tonight. If you go, beware the Thomas shop - everything is extortionate!

Congratulations!!!

AbbyLou · 12/04/2008 15:10

Congratulation JIMW, sending you lots of babyglue!

scootermum · 12/04/2008 23:01

Great news JIMW..and good luck with the move..

Well I am nursing a horrible hangover today.L is being a real tral on Fridays, my day off, at the mo-think its the knock on effect of the upheaval of me goijng back to work and she still needs to get used to the routine. She was postively demonic yesterday and we both ended up in tears..so dinner out with the girls last night turned into a bit of a boozy one which was just what I needed, but boy am I paying for it now..

She has been very good today though to be fair..my sister and her kids came and we went out for lunch and L sat very nicely and ate all her meal and didnt kick off even when everyting took about 6 years to come. And M was as ever very good-I am so lucky with her..well with them both of course..but L sure knows how to test at times

Dh has hurt his back and is now lying with my lavender pillow on it, in front of the golf..as he NEVER gives me sympathy for my bad back which is ruddy awful most of the time, (largely as he has never before known how much it hurts)I am having touble listening to his agonised groans with a sympathetic ear I must confess He is still planning on helping his mate move house tomorrow so it cant be all that bad

Im getting quite into golf against my better judgement..but then Ive no choice-if you cant beat em..

largeginandtonic · 13/04/2008 08:11

Ello i am home.

Still full of lergy amd fed up with it.

Now HUGE CONGRATULATIONS to you JAM!!! This one will be be fine, it will all be ok. Take it easy, you know, what with the 11 month old baby, puppy and house move Perhaps you should stay here for a couple of weeks and avoid it all, dh can manage, no?

Sky hope the email got through to April, will text you in the week. DH away for the meet but MIL coming (she is taking me for Colposcopy the day before) So can we all be here at 12??? Cake and nibbles ok? You may have to tea make yourselves if i am sore, should be fine though Jam will you come?

Have sent an SOS to SOH for her to buy a house here and look after me. She sound well

How are you all?

AbbyLou · 13/04/2008 08:41

Hi LGT, sorry to hear you're still feeling poorly. Hope it passes soon. I wish I could make the meet up but I think it may be just a tad too far....
How the devil is SOH? Where is she these days? I miss her funny comments, even when she was stressed out she was funny. I can't remember the last time she posted.
We're off to some Spring Fair thing today with the in-laws although I think it will be a wellies job. The weather is so changeable at the mo isn't it. I've got a child-free day tomorrow as they are taking them both to the zoo. Again though the forecast is dreadful so I don;t know how long they'll last. Is it really sad to be looking forward to a spring-clean?

scootermum · 13/04/2008 10:24

Hi largegandt..sorry to hear you are poorly hon...are you sure you want to host this meet up?Becuause we can always put it off till you feel more like it yknow..

SOH should get back on here I think..I want to hear how tank is doing..

I would LOVE a day child free to do the spring cleaning Abby..not sad at all..I would buy all new cleaning bits to do it as well..and possibly some new Marigolds..not much chance round here though..L goes ballistic every time I turn the Hoover on-she has developed a phobia of it for some reason..

L has just come back from football training now.She looks very cute in her little kit.She is the smallest one in the class and also the only girl so is made a big fuss of down there, but im not so sure how much actual football she does DH likes taking her though so its their Daddy-daughter thing thats just for them... Better go and try and ger her off for her sleep else there'll be hell to pay later..

cameroonmama · 13/04/2008 17:49

Just popping in to say YEEEEEEEEEHHHAAAAAAAAA Jam about the bfp. That is great news!! Good luck with the move.

Hope you are feeling perkier tomorrow LG&T.

And MrsMeadow a very Happy Birthday for you tomorrow. Have a lovely day.

Can't stop for long as we have been away for a couple of days to have ds1's Spiderman birthday party on a friend's farm and are not long back. Poor old J has the worst nappy rash...

charleymouse · 13/04/2008 22:58

Hi
belated Happy Birthday to Ella, sorry have not been around as have been laying floors all week. House should will be ready to move into by end of month.
Have not caught up but hope you are all well and will catch up asap although have spotted congrats are due Jam,
Love to all CM

AbbyLou · 14/04/2008 09:09

Kids are off to the zoo today so I've got the whole house to myself all day. Bring on the spring-cleaning!! I know I'm sad but it's needed doing for a while and I'm looking forward to the feeling of satisfaction later.

largeginandtonic · 14/04/2008 09:30

Scoot dont be daft, am sure it will be no worse than a smear Dont want to hear otherwise

CM glad the house is moving along, we will want pics soon please

Yes Cam you are right HUGE HAPPY BIRTHDAY to the lovely MrsMeadow, hope you ahve a brill day! Anything nice planned?

Abby i am with you on the spring clean. Sounds great but like Scoot i have a son who appears to be allergic to the hoover and since he now moves pretty fast i cant even take washing up and downstairs without him rattling the gate as i try and squueze through it. I can do nothing unless he is asleep, useful.

I apologise in a advance for the state of the house when you get here

Cam what are you putting on his bum? Egg white is good, lightly whisked. Did you take any Bepanthen\metanium with you? I can send some out if you like? Hope he is ok, it is awful. When mine have been bad a wipe has made them scream and i have had to bath them at every nappy change.

SOH is fine, she lives on a farm with a crazy landlady and some cows for comapny They want a pig, you know playmate for Mathilda. Her dh is in the Police Force now, he has a truncheon and everything

TillyScoutsmum · 14/04/2008 09:47

Massive congratulations JIW... Bucket loads of sticky baby dust heading your way (or whatever it is you're supposed to send - I always worry I'm making some kind of rude faux pas)

Hope you all have a great time at the meet up. Send me some virtual cake please. Abby - sounds like you're not too far from me..

LG&T - the colposcopy will be fine - it is no more uncomfortable than a smear - just lasts a teeny bit longer.

Am v. of all this talk of truncheons and swords... My dp has a ..... laser measurer ... so there

Anyway - am off to google this "spring cleaning" you're all talking about

twelveyeargap · 14/04/2008 11:49

My DP has SIX computer screens... No whatever way you say it, it's not as exciting as a sword.

Belated happy birthday to George, Ella and Arlen. Have I missed anyone? Many happy returns to April too, I think? CM, I was thinking about you. You seem to be coping well.

HUGE hugs to LG&T. I know I already texted, but wanted to let you know I've been thinking about you a lot.

HOORAY for JIMW. Congratulations. Really pleased for you.

I'm not as good as Charleymouse at doing the jumbo catch up replies, but I have been checking in now and then. The iPhone is too fiddly to do a long post anyway. Am home Fri morning so will post over the weekend.

Suffice to say, it's been wonderful (apart from the week A was sick and from the giant cockroaches, though I'm sure Cam would snicker at my woosie-ness!) Going to be very sad to leave my friend, but at the same time, I'm also looking forward to getting home and sleeping in my own bed.

Have a lovely time in Pompey, those of you meeting up. Xxx

largeginandtonic · 14/04/2008 12:15
largeginandtonic · 14/04/2008 12:16

Wavs, doh, waves.

No six computer screens does not cut it

Travel back safely my lovely.

cameroonmama · 14/04/2008 12:42

dh has neither sword, nor truncheon, nor 6 computer screens, nor any fancy laser measurer But when you are 007 all you need is a pair of baby blues to get you through

TYG, you big woos, get thee back over to the safety of teensy tiny caterpillars that turn into lovely butterflies instead of the land of man eating cockroaches. Actually I just thought I saw a snake in the house and ran outside in a flap to find the gardener who casually announced it was nowt but a wriggly lizard Hope the wedding was fun.

Good luck LG&T with the thingy. And thanks for the nappy rash tip, its around his willy that is the worst so I have Sudocremed him to within an inch of his life and it seems to have helped. The doc gave me some steroid cream to use as he seems to get a bit of eczema but I have been a bit loath to smear steroids over him.

Thinking of all of you spring cleaning, with Margaret here its like every day is a spring cleaning day

AbbyLou · 14/04/2008 13:24

Csm I need a Margaret! It's going well but it's just taking far longer than i thought. I know dh will wlak through the door tonight and say something along the lines of 'I thought you were spring cleaning today'! Just dare he.....
Anyhow, no more time to waste, must dash!

mom2latinoboys · 14/04/2008 13:43

Good morning all! I don't really have anything interesting to say but am happy that it's been sunny and warm here lately. Gotta go send my taxes in today. Other than that nothing to report. We've all got a cold again. And Cruz has gotten funnier. When he's really hungry or tired he cries, but when he wants something else or is frustrated he does this grunty cry that I don't really understand. He's such a whiney guy I love it.

twelveyeargap · 14/04/2008 13:59

I don't actually like butterflies. They're a bit gross when you look at their bodies and really, are just pretty-winged moths. I hate moths. Now that you mention it, I don't like anything that flies. Not even birds. It's a hair thing. I think they're going to get caught in my hair. Woos, woos, woos.

twelveyeargap · 14/04/2008 14:02

When I read the next Ladies' Detective Agency installment and want to move to Botswana; remind me I said this.

AprilMeadow · 14/04/2008 15:29

Thank you ladies. Been away for the weekend and only got back at 12.30 then threw the kids in nursery and came to work!

Abby, was Thomasland as good as it sounds?

I had a message from SOH, I was so pleased to hear from her!

LG&T, now....... what can i bring (apart from KK's)? Dont say nothing !

TYG, am of you being somewhere so nice but you can definately keep the creepy crawlies.

Cam, poor little J, not nice for him.
