largeginandtonic · 14/04/2008 15:42

Hope you had a lovely weekend

I am going to lay out some chips and dips and bake a couple of cakes. Chocolate and ? Any requests?

scootermum · 14/04/2008 15:44

Hi all,

G'day TYG...Glad you are having a nice time over there..
M has bad nappy rash also-the only thng that works for her is Vaseline..Hence I keep tubs of it all over the house, which raises a few eyebrows with non baby people

All my DH has is er a calculator..which must be the most unsexy of the lot at the sword and the truncheon..

I am off sick today as have a touch of the flu.Since parents are here to look after the kids anyway was hoping to be treated to chicken broth et al..However my Father is asleep with his head on my shoulder as I type and the kids are running amok!

Happy Birthday AM!Hope you got some nice prezzos and breakfast in bed etc..

scootermum · 14/04/2008 15:45

LEMON DRIZZLE!LEMON DRIZZLE!

largeginandtonic · 14/04/2008 15:47

I take it that is a vote for Lemon Drizzle then Scoot

Hope you feel better soon chick, no being ill on Friday!!!

AbbyLou · 14/04/2008 15:52

Oh I'm so of you all meeting on Friday. It's not fair! (stamps foot!).
Maybe one day I will get to try and LG&T cake....Never even had a KK, you can't get them around here....

April, hope you had a great weekend and birthday - Thomasland was fab! C absolutely loved it from beginning to end. It's perfect for young children and everything is close together so there's not too much walking around. If you go watch out for the eating places, they are so expensive and it's mostly crap. However, I would definitely recommend it and we will be going back soon.

scootermum · 14/04/2008 16:03

WHAT?!Someone who cant get KK?!Send me your address and I will post thee [email protected] is my email..

We may take Lily o to Thomas land then..she loves Thomas which is what comes from hanging out with boys all the time..all the people from various baby groups and classes that we like most have boys wierdly..maybe becuase Lily tends to go a bit shy round girls her age..too much competition

Yay, the legendary Lemon Drizzle!!!

Mum2G · 14/04/2008 16:13

Helloooo ladies

just popping on quick to say happy birthday AM hope you have a fab day!

not yet caught up properly, but see massive congrats are in order JIMW!!! Hope all goes well with the move!

we have had five viewings in the week since the house has been on the market and one very cheeky offer - told them where to stick it, they are gonna make another offer so fingers crossed we may have sold soon too! We have found a new house in sexy swindon that we would like to buy, dated but very well looked after so clean and could live with it and do it up as and when could afford to, it has a lovely big garden for G, it also has a particularly fetching peach bathroom suite!

AbbyLou · 14/04/2008 16:23

Scoot would you really send me some KK's? Thanks so much, I've been dying to try them. Let me know how much they are and I'll send you the money to cover them and the postage. I've emailed you my address.

LookattheLottie · 14/04/2008 17:25

Hello

Happy Birthday wishes to AM, hope you have had a fabulous day!

And I hear congrats are in order on a BFP to Jam, so I want another baby! My cousins due in July, blue I'm told. Her dd was born a month before C. Not fair, I wants another! Ho Hum.

Abby I've never had KK's either, but only because I'm not very keen on donuts. Glad C enjoyed Thomasland.

MumtoG glad to hear the house is proving popular! When we stayed in Cumbria we bought a house that needed doing up. We lived in it and did things along the way, it was really good fun. I'd do it again in a second!

Scoot sorry to hear you are not well, hope you feel better soon.

TYG glad to hear you've had a good time away, though agree there is nothing better than your own bed.

I've done most of my spring cleaning, just have to get some stuff on ebay and I think I'm good. The rest of the house still needs doing of course.......

I took C down to the loch yesterday for a go on the swings which she loved! I took loads of photos and will have to get her one for her Birthday, the giggles she was producing! But she's really whiney at the minute, whenever I put her down she does this incredibly annoying cry! Then gives me the biggest smile and cuddle when I scoop her up, how can I stay mad lol!

Was at baby music today, sad to hear we'll be booted out of this class when C turns 1 and moved into another. I've gotten to know all the mums and babies in there quite well. Start my physio for my back on the 25th, hopefully get the problems sorted.

Not much else to report, have a beautiful sunny day here so may take C out again whilst it lasts! Hope all are well x

Aw Meggle i will send ya a piece I have been known to air freight cake before, well at least Royal Mail it When are you back from Spain?

Hello Mum2G hope you are coming on Friday?

scootermum · 14/04/2008 20:02

Ah, but Lookatthelottie, thats the thing about KK's, y' see.I HATE regualr doughnuts, but the KK is something else..I will most deffo send you some Abby..Lets think will be best to post on Thursday late so they will get to you Saturday at the latest..So will get on my way to work on Thurs(will put in Tupperware to preserve)KK's are free to first timers

M is also doing that thing where they cry as soon as you put them down, then beam when you pick them up..I think its quite common around this age-they get a bit of seperation anxiety.Lily did it too..unfortunately for M I cant hold onto her all the time as she weighs a ton and a half and L is commonly hanging on my other leg or in some imminent danger of falling off something, or climbing on something unsuitable..so as a consequence M is in floods of tears for much of the day and Mummys nerves are in shreds

Dh and Father are now glued to Sky sports watching a 'very important' match-Sheffield Wednesday v Plymouth...If they dont win, Wednesday I mean, they will both be in such a huge grump it will be untrue..

Jesus they are one nil down already..oh oh

Pebblemum · 14/04/2008 23:36

Evening everyone

Wow congrats Jam, am sending lots of baby sticking vibes

Lups Sorry to hear thins arent too great with Dh. I hardly see my Dh most days due to his odd working hours and not having that 'quality time' together where you can chat, cuddle etc does put pressure on the relationship. We argue quite a lot about it, and there have been times when I think we are only together through habit but I do love him and know he feels the same, its just hard to balance everything sometimes. We can go days without saying more than a quick hello, most nights I sleep on my own as he will sit up after work watching tv and nod off until the kids wake him up at 7am. To be honest I am so used to it now that it can be quite annoying when he does make it to bed, Im used to the peace lol. I hope things get better for you soon.

AM very belated birthday wishes to both you and Ella (have been so busy I havent had chance to say it before)

Cam, when Alana had very bad nappy rash the chemist recommended Burn cream (that was its actual name too) and it worked great, cleared it up almost overnight.

Dh had a nice birthday even if we only saw each other for about an hour of it. He opened his presents at 1am, we went to bed, I woke at 7.30am to find he had already gone to work, by the time he came home it was 1am again and his birthday was over We went out for a meal on Friday though. We were joined by Dh's friends who have been engaged for 26yrs, have never lived together even though they have a son and although it sounds odd it works for them. They have both been married before so didnt want to rush into things and then decided things were great as they were so why change it and risk it all going wrong.

Alana is a cheeky girl. On Sunday she was going great with her walking. she kept going almost the whole length of the room without falling over but everytime I try to show someone she laughs and sits down after about 6 steps, making me look a liar. She knows whats shes doing as well you can tell by her cheeky grin She now has 6 teeth, 4 at the top and 2 at the bottom and it looks as if there are a few more top ones getting ready to pop out.

One of our neighbours' little girl (18months) fell over the other day and knocked one of her front teeth out (she only had a few to start off with ) There wasnt anything that could be done and so she will have the gap there until her adult teeth start t some through at about 7, poor little thing

I will be glad when these holidays are over. Took J, his friend, E and A out last week. We went to Gunwharf by bus and train. J and his friend went to the cinema and I entertained E and A while the film was on, afterwards we took a walk around the docklands (the free parts anyway) before getting the train back and having Macdonalds for tea. When we finally got home at 6.30pm I realised that I had spent £60 and had nothing to show for it It was only meant to have been a cheap treat.

Must go now as its getting late and im starting to drop off at the computer lol. Guess Im not waiting up for dh tonight then

Creena · 15/04/2008 11:12

Phew! Found you all! I've not been able to catch up at all but feel bad for missing some important stuff, so.....

congratulations to JulieWoolie - I'm so very happy and pleased for you!

Happy, happy (if belated) first birthday wishes to the LOs of Charleymouse, Lupins and Aprilmeadow! I can't believe that a year has gone by already! I hope that you all had fantastic days. xxx

I really must try to catch up soon and hear all of your news!

scootermum · 15/04/2008 11:24

Morning all,

Back at work though not feeling too tip top still..
largegandt could you email me your address for [email protected] I can print out directions..also if you dont mind could you out your phone number on there as well as am bound to get hopelessly lost

The score last night was one all so sanity is perserved in our house, thank God!

largeginandtonic · 15/04/2008 12:08

Scoot have emailed you

I felt better today, then hoovered and noticed skirting boards so cleaned them, then walls looked bad so cleaned them too. Now have sore neck

I blame Abby and her spring cleaning

mom2latinoboys · 15/04/2008 13:50

Good morning all. we've had a rought couple of nights because everyone is sick.

mom2latinoboys · 15/04/2008 13:52

Oops posted too soon. Anyway, I'm so ready for summer to be here. I can't take all these coughs due to the weather changes.

ON a good note I've lost 11 pounds in two weeks. God I miss carbs and dairy though.

AbbyLou · 15/04/2008 14:31

Creena, hi, nice to hear from you again.
Pebble I know what you mean about the trips out costing a fortune. I have spent so much doing stuff with the kids these holidays it's about bankrupted me!
Mum2LB sorry to hear you're all sick again but well done on the weight loss - I am determined that tonight is the night the exercise bike comes out of the garage.
LG&T you've definitely caught the cleaning bug. To be honest to look ay my house downstairs now you wouldn't know I'd done it. At least upstairs is still nice. Glad you are feeling better now, you must be if you are cleaning walls and skirting boards!
Scoot, glad you are feeling a bit better too. I keep dreaming of those KK's! I have just realised we are away from Friday night until Sunday night. Will they be ok in the post office sorting room until Monday?

largeginandtonic · 15/04/2008 14:38

Noooooo Abby they will not! They need next day consumption (take it from someone who used to recieve KK's in the post on a remarkably frequnt basis) Scoot and TYG (i love them) were so kind. I blame them for the 4 stone weight gain with Beau too

My back hurts now, i must keep hoovering though, only ground floor to do.

Latinomom hope you all get better soon. Is it a sick bug? God i hate them. Rest for you all Stick a dvd on and chill.

TillyScoutsmum · 15/04/2008 14:39

11 pounds in two weeks - wow that's really good going. I'm ready for summer as well - it seems to have been p*ssing down for days

LG&T - glad you're feeling a tad better. You too Scoot (rubbish being back at work though I suppose)

Abby - enjoy the KK's

Tilly's top 2 teeth are on their way through (at last). We've had a couple of hideous nights but one of them was poking through this morning so I'm really hoping we're over the worst (until the next ones of course).

I'm out with some friends on Thursday night and am staying over so will probably get a full night's sleep for the first time in over a year. Can't wait

scootermum · 15/04/2008 15:04

I will delay postage till Monday Abby.
D'you remember those ones I sent you largegandt and they didnt get there before you went away?..Yeeuch they came back to me eventually in a sorry state (although on some level I was still tempted to eat one )

You wont Tilly, you will be up singing drunken songs at 2 in the morning and will then wake up at 6 am or whatever time Tilly wakes up usually becuase you are now programmed to and will feel like death But twill all be worth it

Sorry to hear you are all sick m2lb's..roll on summer I say.Altough it says rain rain rain here on the long term forcast How can they tell I wonder?

Creena · 15/04/2008 17:10

mum2LB - sorry to hear you've all been poorly. Hope you're all on the mend now. 11 pounds in two weeks?! That's really great! is it a diet that you're on? If so, I will be pestering you for the details come November time.

Hi AbbyLou! Nice to see you too!

LG&T - are you ok? Sorry, haven't read the thread but sounds as though you've been out of sorts recently. Hope you're on the mend too.

TSmum - hurray for teeth! Conor has cut only one tooth so far, bless him! Mind you, his dad didn't cut any at all until he was 13 months old apparently, so at least we didn't have to wait that long! Conor just bites down on anything he can get his mits on now (including me) so I think another tooth or two must be on the way.

Scoot - nothing but rain up here too. We've had loads of hail recently too. I took Conor out for a walk today and by the time we got to the park, the sky had turned back. I thought it best to turn back home and was glad that I did - just as we got to our street, it lashed with hail. The sort that stings when it hits you. Conor was fine but I got soaked!

Pebblemum · 15/04/2008 23:38

Tilly the first time I had a night away from Alana I was more restless than ever, swear I could hear her crying but that was just stupid as she was at MIL's over 15mins away and although she can be quite noisey when she wants to I dont think shes that loud

Mum2LB sorry you are all ill again. Alana has yet another cough (she must have had one at least once a month since August) Roll on Summer, if we get one this year

Dh went into our back garden this afternoon and spotted something quite disturbing. Someone has pinched the cover to our air vent, yes you did read right, our vent cover is missing!!! When the council gave me a new kitchen they installed a fan to combat moisture in the air (I know they have a special name but cant think of it lol) When the kitchen was finished there was definately a cover on the outside wall where the fan is, today dh noticed it is missing and there is a bloody great hole with nothing to stop the rain getting into the cavity. It was definately there in November when we had our firework party but since then we havent really been out there so it could have been missing for some time. We think we know who's done it, our neighbour wasnt given a proper cover over hers and was always moaning about it but suddenly ours has gone missing and she has one just like it Always knew she was a bit strange lol.

TillyScoutsmum · 16/04/2008 10:17

Oooh Pebble - go and nick it back. One of our neighbours nicked our reclycling bag as well. I'm hoping it blew away in the wind and landed in someone's garden and they just thought they would hold on to it cos they weren't sure where it came from (rather than someone specifically nicking it iyswim).

You're probably all right about leaving Til. We have left her for a night to go to a wedding in Feb but it was a very late night and I was fairly pished so didn't catch up on any sleep.

Hope all the poorly babies (and mums) get better soon

LG&T - thinking of you tomorrow xxxx
