Hi Ladies, it said we needed a new thread

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Sky - yes L, not me. She's eaten all her lunch so I'm hoping that's a good sign.

Definitely wise to postpone Operation Sleep til you're back. I know what you mean about work, its such a pain.

My close friend has just told me she's pregnant with her 2nd. I feel very strange about it, can't work out why.

I just feel a little jealous and I feel bad about it. I think its because I look back on pregnancy as a wonderful time. However if I look back over my posts, I can see that that is far from accurate.

I know, I worry desperately about L, which I know will come as a surprise to you. I am in work with my stomach in knots despite the fact that she is with my mum and ate all her lunch.

Imagine multiplying that worry. I'd be an even bigger basket case than I am. Although I do want another one.

SKYTVADDICT · 04/04/2008 13:44

You wouldn't worry more with two Pink - you would worry less as you get more experienced .

I have to say I know I should worry more about C but unfortunatley I have the "been there and done that attitude" which DP really doesn't appreciate! Will have to try harder.

Pinkjenny · 04/04/2008 13:45

No Sky - you are my role model if you are like that!

Thanks Meggle - she does love my mum and vice versa. Although she also goes to nursery two days a week, I'm just fortunate that her being ill hasn't fallen on a nursery day.

I often wonder where my secret megaphone voice is. Mine just says, 'What if she dies? What if she dies?'

God, I'm jolly today aren't I?

SKYTVADDICT · 04/04/2008 14:18

Oh no Pink you mustn't think like that! I didn't realise it was that bad.

I have been thinking and I am not really that laid back - we have a problem with choking in our house - there are so many hazards - the DDs will just not get the message that C picks up every little thing and tries to eat it! I have him upside down at least once a day and that does frighten me. It is mostly bits of food or paper but until I get it out I don't really know that.

Pinkjenny · 04/04/2008 14:23

Its stupid, in between 'illnesses', I'm absolutely fine. But if there is a threat of her being unwell I am a nervous wreck. For example when her little friend was puking on Monday, I was so worried all night that she would catch whatever he had.

In the actual moment, i.e. cleaning her up last night, I was fine.

Now I'm fretting because I'm not with her and I'll panic tonight because I haven't been with her all day, so whatever my mum tells me, I'll find 'strange' or not believe her or whatever.

I'm mad. See, I told you.

SKYTVADDICT · 04/04/2008 14:26

You are most definitely not mad just a lovely mummy who worries a lot . She obviously caught the sickness from the friend so at least you know where it came from.

We are still waiting for chicken pox - it has now been 10 days post exposure and can apparetly take 10-14 days - gulp! At least I have my working week nearly over, am only working one day next week then away for a week.

DD2 may have had it and we didn't notice as she has been at Nursery and school and missed various rounds of it but C most definitely has not had it. It is all down to my mum having shingles! Watch this space.

JamInMyWellies · 04/04/2008 15:08

PJ another to add to the bonkers list if you only knew how mental I wass when it came to Archie, I have the hes going to die thing aswell. In my own special way I think if I say it out liud it wont happen.

See your not the only one.

Seems mad to think that this time last yr we wer all ginormous and whinging about lack of sleep etc etc etc. Not much chnaged there.

JamInMyWellies · 04/04/2008 15:11

jesus could my spelling get any worse

Lupins71 · 04/04/2008 15:17

Hello All,

PJ you are not mad just a loving caring mother - it kind of gets easier when there are 2, as I write A is messing around in the coal tools bucket getting filthy and trying to stab the dog with a poker , no way I would have let dd do that ............................ right have removed skewer and he has gone back for something else less sharp but equally as dirty

WE ARE GETTING OIL !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! [GRIN] [ GRIN] [GRIN] Yippeeeeeeeeeeee we will be warm sorry but please bear with me and my excitement over getting oil, cant believe its a whopping £320 has gone up £70 since we moved here and were 1st quoted, and that will probably only last a couple of months, still heat for next few months then hopfully wont need any till autumn

Went into Tavistock with the 1st bit of expendable cash I have had in months - do you think I could find anything to buy grrrrrr, I am being a crap mother A's bday is tomorrow and I still havent got anything except 2 books for him, going to plymouth tomorrow and will find him some stuff there - has anyone had a spin and bounce zebra from fisher price?? was think of that and a learning table, dd had one of those but the older style and she used it alot, I did however manage to buy some giant choc organic buttons and some baby veg sauce from kiddies kitchen - fab shop

DD made moving to the country all worth while yesterday, we went for a walk in the field and the other kids were out there so i left her with them and they were out till 6pm building a den, thats what being a kid is about - adults nearby but not looking over their shoulders and getting out there finding themselves, exploring and having fun thats what we used to do - I would have never dreamed on letting her out without adult supervision in reading to play on the streets, there was 2 x 5yr olds, 1 10yr old and 2 13yr olds and they all just got on so well, brilliant made me very happy for her

SKYTVADDICT · 04/04/2008 15:24

Lupins - Happy Birthday to A for tomorrow in case I don't get on. I bought quite a few bits at an NCT Nearly New Sale so think I have C's birthday sorted.

I am ok thanks JW, just tired.

I hope you are ok LG&T and are getting a bit of rest and tlc before your week without DP next week.

Pinkjenny · 04/04/2008 15:35

Jam - you never said. I feel a little better that its not just me. I just can't relax. My friend is supposed to be staying over tonight as dh is away til Tuesday.
Not sure if its a good idea now.

Lups - have A's birthday in my diary. Hope I'll get on tomorrow, but if not, sending him lots of birthday bumps. Their day in the country sounds idyllic. Playing out was fab. Then you'd come in and have your tea and a nice hot bath.

SKYTVADDICT · 04/04/2008 16:36

Off home soon so hope you all have a nice weekend x

cameroonmama · 04/04/2008 17:16

Evening all. I just want to say to Sky how marvellously you are doing with the 3 dc and pregnant and working, I'm not sure I could do it

Pink, believe you me, you are totally not bonkers! I have 3 dc and feel guilty when I leave them in the house with our housegirl (!) and go to the supermarket ffs! I often worry about them dying and then worry about what would happen if me or dh die. Its perfectly normal apparently

You do get more relaxed the more dc there are.. look at super laid back LG&T. Takes a lot to make her wobble. For instance, tonight I put the oven on, walked away, J decided to speed crawl to it, I turned, looked and thought 'nah, it can't be hot I've only just put it on, he can't hurt himself' If that had been dd she wouldn't have even been in the kitchen let alone near the cooker! Anyway, you are doing a super duper job. I hope its just one of those 24 hour things, at least you have an explanation for the not eating. That always makes me feel better, knowing it was something iyswim.

Lupins, fabulous, fabulous and fabulous. I have rarely heard you so happy I bet Willow soon will develop a lovely Devon accent.

Mrsjaffabiffa · 04/04/2008 18:26

Hello all, just popping on to sign off for Two weeks.

Hope to lurk a little when I'm at houses with PC's, but that may be far and few between.

Have a good couple of weeks all. xxx

Lg&t, hope you are doing better sweetie, will speak soon. xxx

Juicylucytoo · 04/04/2008 20:12

JIMW - Yes, well free Friday of next week! Off to Bournemouth for 2 nights Mon. Then may have to give back Co.car on Thurs

PJ - I think you have to be on MN 24/7 or be extremely ascerbic to qualify for the "famous" tag. Not sure I'd be into either of those routes

largeginandtonic · 04/04/2008 20:21

Blardy hell i couldnt find you lot!

I'm fine, you are all BONKERS talking about doom and gloom regards the lovely babies. Now STOP IT that is an order. Fgs

Now i am feeling much better today, no black cloud and headache gone. I am not taking the anti d's as i think it may have been just shock. Am going to keep going and see.

Bugger about losing the thread and then not seeing your return posts MUM2G, i am a muppet! Would have been lovely to have a Costa Coffee! Feck

We got some of the lovely Lelli Kelli variety of shoes, the sparkles are reigniting my headache She is very happy though so i am.

Oil for Lups hooray! Heating is going to be very necessary next week i think what with the secong ice age coming and all DH is furious he wanted to plant all his little seedlings this weekend. They will be left at my mercy next week as he is away, he was hoping the rain may at least water them as i may forget

Now Pink how are you my lovely? I missed the thread entirely, what was going on and has it been deleted yet?

MrsJB see you soon Wahooooooooo!!!!

Cam did the chooks get up again? >

Pinkjenny · 04/04/2008 20:41
