TillyScoutsmum · 06/04/2008 17:35

Have emailed your April - ta much

We had snow here this morning as well - everything look so pretty. Had melted before lunch though and I can now see the true state of my garden again . Neither dp nor I have a green finger between us

Wow LG&T - your house is going to be fun with all those dc's Hope you have a good week and it goes quickly for you

Hope everyone else is well. Enjoy the rest of your sunday xx

cameroonmama · 06/04/2008 17:48

Ha ha snow! What fun for you all.

Just sunshine here and swimming. J so loves to swim, shame the water is blasted cold, the things we do us mummies for our babies.

Have added you M2LB, Tilly April will point you my direction. New friends, how exciting!

LG&T, dh is also away, only til Tuesday mind, maybe you'd like to pop over and watch Grey's Anatomy with me?

Stupid question LG&T but where oh where will you put all those people???!

I have a slight fuzzy head after a late one with our neighbours the Patels, in their large and beautiful house and garden and an amazing Thai dinner. It was so funny, lots of cousins together, very funny and smart family, it was a bit like being with the Kumars!!And god they forced me to drink A LOT. The really fascinating thing was that the whole extended family was on holiday together in Phuket when they were hit by the Tsunami. They all survived to tell their tale and what a tale it was. I was in tears!Sometimes you realise how luky you are.

largeginandtonic · 06/04/2008 19:21

Top and tail Cam tis the only way My friend will sleep on the bed setee in the front room with the baby (3 months) and the rest will scatter.

What a lovely evening Cam, that must have been such a tale to hear. I am glad they were all ok, i have seen so much footage of it and it gives me the willies. I am abit afraid of the sea. Useful considering dh is in the Navy

Kids fighting may have to send them all to bed. Desperate housewives later, if i manage to stay awake for it.

Hullo Tilly!

cameroonmama · 06/04/2008 19:56

LG&T you are such a super cool lady.

We have lost a chook we can't find her anywhere. The guard and I have been out checking everywhere but its a bit difficult in the dark and we have a LOT of bushes. Keep your fingers crossed she appears tomorrow am otherwise the dc will be in shreds.

Desperate housewives - my favourite. We have just had a fab episode, with a twister, have you had that one in the UK?

largeginandtonic · 06/04/2008 20:47

A TWISTER!!!! Good lord my fave programme amd my fave weather phenomenom, i have a thing for 'nados' as i call them

Hope the chook turns up, try looking up, they like a perch and a tree often works for them. Sure you have been already, poor thing

No wine for you tonight then Cam

What a weekend we had! Pompey won yayyyy, My new tv was set up and we had snow.

J came back from watching the footy with a big grin on his face, wonder why lol. He watched it on a big screen set up by The Quay radio station on the end of South Parade Pier. There were a few old players there, one was the man who scored the winning goal when Pompey last one the cup in 1939 and another was in the winning world cup team of 1966. J got both their autographs (apparantly they dont sign too many autographs so J was lucky)They signed both his Pompey shirt and his ticket but the silly boy lost the ticket so the only way for him to hold on to the autographs is by me not washing his shirt He also had his pic done with the FA cup (will try to post pics a bit later).

We had planned a nice day out yesterday, were taking J and his friend to the cinema in Gunwharf, taking E bowling while the film was on and then taking the kids to Pizza Hut. Dh went out at 7.15 to fill up with petrol and buy me a coffee, I looked out the window and laughed about the fact there wasnt the snow we had been forecast. Roll on half hour and J came rushing into the room to say it was snowing. I expected it to be a little bit but there was a full on snow storm with about 3inches laid already lol. Of course all the kids in the street woke up, got dressed in super fast time and rushed out to play in it. Not one of them bothered with breakfast until about 2hrs later Got a few pics. Dressed A up in her winter clothes and took her out for a little bit, she loved watching the kids playing in it.

AM glad E was ok in the end

Lups sorry A's day wasnt much fun for you

LG&T great to hear you are feeling a bit better, will have to arrange that coffee once the kids are back at school again (think we will be in need of it by then lol)

M2LB Im on facebook, i'll be your friend, will try to find you in a bit

Hello to anyone else I missed but E and J are arguing ( and its only the first day of the hols) and I cant remember whats been posted.

largeginandtonic · 07/04/2008 12:25

Morning all I am ready for the onslaught. Sort of.

Must eat something for breakfast, am just not very hungry still. Good for the stone to shift though i suppose.

It is blardy freezing here!

Lupins71 · 07/04/2008 12:52

Bloody cold here too am attempting to light fire farmers wife just called to say tanker was there - but they forgot to put ours on the lorry

AM thankyou so much for the fab toy, I can tell you have a boy already and this is my 1st I just look at boy toys blankly and havent a clue, however A does love it been trying to follow it round- dd loves it lol!, I went to get ellas the other day and was told i should allow 3 weeks - back to the drawing board, am going to plymouth in the week so will pick up and post

LGT are you still sane - have you been eaten out of house and home or have you been baking crazy, I so miss my baking - wheres my oil!!!!!

AbbyLou · 07/04/2008 13:24

Oh no Lupin, how annoying to still not have your oil! When will they do another delivery? Well I took R to the clinic this morning and they did her 11/12 month check up while we were there. She weighs 20lb 10ox, is 76cm long and has a head circumference of 39cm! I'm really glad I know that! Apparently that means she is tall but I don't think she particularly looks it. The hv said I wasn't to worry at all about R's eating. She said they are now advising babt led weaning rather than puree and that it often means that babies don't eat 'normally' until much later. I also got both hv to have a look at C's tongue. Yesterday dh noticed that he'd got lots of bumps on the back of his tongue. The hv doesn't think they are anything sinister, especially as he's not ill and they are not bothering him. She thought maybe they were just his taste buds a bit inflamed. He did bite his tongue the other day and apparently this can sometimes happen - they look really weird.
R is having a nap now and I've got to do the evil mum thing shortly and wake her. We are off to a den of iniquity playcentre in a bit to meet up with some of my friends from NCT the first time round.

Hi all,

Sorry have been away for a week or so..had god awful week last week at work the 'high point' of which was getting threatened by a man with a knife...coupled with which both kids miserable with coughs and colds..L in particular is very poorly- to the extent that last night she ASKED to go to bed..never before in her life as that happened!
Am trying to get her in at GP..

My parents are staying for a week whilst their kitchen is being done..which means we are on the sofa bed in Ls room so awake all night listening to her poor coughing..(and also means that am having to put up with the most untidy people in the known universe!5 mins they were there yesterday and the house looked like a bomb had hit it!

On the bright side, our kitchen is finished!Yay!Yay!(and it only took 5 weeks!)Plus got tickets for Sunday of the Leeds festival after much trying with two laptops and a phone..The Killers are headlining..cant wait..
Went to see the Enemy last Saturday-very good but got hit in the face very hard by a large man during one of the rowdy numbers!

Hope all are well and Happy Birthday to those who are one already!!!

Off to Hammersmith now-feel a Primark visit coming on I beg of you--will try to catch up later..

AprilMeadow · 08/04/2008 11:45

Lups, glad it arrived safely. I thought it looked really fun! I am struggling with buying girly presents as i am always drawn to the boys toys.

Meggle...... Nooooooooooooooooooooooooo. Have a good holiday and maybe we will see you at the next meet up which i am hoping might be at mine

Scoot, that sounds awful, i would have shat my pants if that had happend to me. Poor L, i hope she feels better very quickly.

Got to keep it brief as i am at work and sneaking on whilst no one is looking.

Having hair coloured this pm - its the hilight of my day!!

Oh we exchanged contracts on our new house yesterday but wont be completing until 6th May.

scootermum · 08/04/2008 15:49

Made the mistake of buying a new duvet cover in Primark. Then had to wrestle the thing back all the way to Islington on a roasting hot tube.Still £7 aint bad for a double duvet IMO! (the other £20 on 2 pair shoes and a jumper maybe takes the 'bargain' element away however

I cant go on Faceboook due to the social chaos it may cause for me due to slightly scandalous things I got up to in my youth which might come back to bite me on the bum...quite of those that can..

Right have a monutain of filing of things in my office to do-there is paper everywhere..might do that, frame a few new pictures for the service lounge and off home..Hopefully my Mum will have made tea

mom2latinoboys · 08/04/2008 18:31

Hello everyone! Well we had a crazy weekend. We got an offer on our house, so we countered, and haven't heard anything so I guess it's not happening. Then we had an open house and only one person showed up. Oh well.

I finally put pictures on facebook yeah me. Gotta go make a cake for company coming over. My sil and her friend are coming to collect some of the boys baby clothes. (Wipes tear from eye).

cameroonmama · 08/04/2008 19:51

evening all, M2LB, love the photos, they are such a cute pair

Meggle PMSL at everyone being in shock.

April another new car? Dish the details?? Congratulations on your exchange, will dh let you go and measure up now? What plans do you have for E's big day?

Scoot, £7??!! Is that all? I beg of you, think of the poor person in India who is being paid tuppence ha'penny a year to make it Bout time we all boycotted Primark i think. Blimey, you are a brave lady, being faced with knives and there you are calming dropping it into the conversation as if it happens everyday. Maybe it does?

DD has gone on her first sleepover Dh says he feels a bit jittery and is worried about her!! I'm a bit tired and off to bed, its been a busy day with too much socialising work. But I just wanted to ask what I had done to deserve such a wonderful baby boy, he just gets on with things with a big smile, even when he missed his nap, he went swimming and didn't want to get out and just grins at everyone. Will I pay for it when he turns 2 do you think?? If anyone is debating whether to do the thing from 2 to 3, I say go for it. (Scoot, you know you want to)

AprilMeadow · 08/04/2008 20:03

Well...... dh said that i really should upgrade to the X5 but i wasnt sure as i really loved the X3. But when i found out that it had lost £12k in 6mths i kind of changed my mind. So i got a lovely black one, but i got it as 7 seater automatic. It is MASSIVE and a little scary to drive. But it is beautiful. I gave my other car to my dad rather than letting the dealership make a load of cash from it.

We have been round to the house twice recently as we are going to be gutting the insides and starting again. We are having a moben kitchen and dolphin bathrooms. Just need to locate a decorator and flooring company. Wont be moving in until the work has been done.

Just been to M&S and got Ella a beautiful pink fairy cake for Thursday. I am working in the morning and she will be at nursery (i have a cake for there as well.) then in the pm we have all the grandparents coming round and a few friends for a party tea. Nothing exciting but just something to mark her special day. Got to wrap her pressies tonight.

cameroonmama · 08/04/2008 20:10

Better have some more babies then to fill it up! My BIL just got rid of his and he just loved it he was sad to see it go.

Oooo the house plans sound very exciting! Beware the Dolphin/Moben people though, keep on their backs as they have a bad reputation. My sister had some difficulties with them...hopefully by now they have resolved all their issues....

AbbyLou · 08/04/2008 20:52

Evening all, just coming on quickly to report that I think (fingers crossed) that my little girl is finally eating! She has had 2 huge 'proper' meals in the last 2 days - potato, chicken, veg etc. Tonight she has chicken chasseur with mash and she ate all of it - chicken, mash, mushrooms, carrots, mange tout and onion. I was so proud of her.
We've had a lovely day today. We took the kids to Gulliver's Kingdom in Matlock Bath. It rained a little but it didn't ruin the day. C went on every single ride and had a whale of a time.
