Lupins71 · 18/05/2008 12:32

LGT woohoo many congrats

AF turned up this morning - thank god, must admit I had got to te point of justifying my p&t lol, have docs appt tomorrow so really must talk about permanant contraception, as much as i have my broody moments and if an accident were to happen it wouldnt be the end of the world, what with the state my womb is in and all my body problemsand thinking what it would do to dp's fragile brain - it wouldnt be ideal.

Also yesrerday I had no appetite and was queasy, today I have having dizzy spells, so was probably just a bug I expect its the same one Arlen is just getting over - thank god not the same one as LGT

AM glad your home safe and well

CM so glad george is doing well, those premmies do catch up eventually little buggers

MKG · 18/05/2008 12:57

OMG At LG&T! Congratulations! Am super

NowMaLarkin · 18/05/2008 15:51

JAM!!! I was just thinking of you the other day, saw a poor woman trying to push a buggy one handed with a loop lab pup doing circles on his lead Oh i did smile at her

I still feel sick and cant eat as i am actually ill. This is not a good start, someone tell me it is going to be a pink 7lb doll who looks just like her Daddy, yes? It will be worth it? How many of you are coming down to witness the birth then? I can fit plenty of you in my front room.

cameroonmama · 18/05/2008 17:17

Jam And I was thinking of you this afternoon whilst yelling 'no' alternately to the puppy who was jumping/chewing/running off with toys/generally being a PITA and Jasper who was biting/trying to eat poisonous flowers/throw himself down the hill/turn on the outside tap and trying to spray the puppy with water whilst giving her treats making sure I didn't accidentally spray any of the dc or feed a choc drop to J. I thought to myself

So how is life in the village? Joined the WI yet? How is the bump?

Ooooo LG&T please can I be your birth partner? I'd love to, don't worry I wouldn't look at your fanjo at all, just wipe your brow and let you swear at me

I can't believe the parcel got to you so quickly I only posted it on Wed, gosh see what a global village we live in. I couldn't resist for Phin, aren't they great? I love buying stuff for girls and like you I've only got one....they need to be spoiled

After seeing dh off on a tiny plane to the Maasai Mara, (for a conference, humpf, alright for some)we were going to go swimming but it went all chilly and started to rain a bit (ok so it went down to about 21 deg) so instead we baked gingerbread cake with a scrummy lemon icing and I thought of two people on here who would be proud of us

JamInMyWellies · 18/05/2008 20:23

Right now what I have been up to. Well my gloriously talented son has in the past 2 wks learnt to walk, run, clap his hands , wave and say the dogs name! No sign of saying mummy yet I know where his priorities are.

The move was quite frankly the most stressfull thing I have ever done never ever hire yourself a van and say yeah we can do it, it was a feckin nightmare. Starting with the day before we moved put DP's v.v. expensive bike on the balcony chained of course went out for lunch and came back to some little east london Knacker having scaled the balcony ad gone off with it!!!!!

So back to our little country house I love it its gorge Archie is so happy running round the garden DP is happily playing working in his garage or gardening and I lord over them all with a peaceful smile on my face. Well that is until I find the dog running round the garden with a shitty nappy in his mouth and Archie pulling up the herbs I have just planted oh and the cockerals crowing from 2.30 in the bloody morning.

Right and on to the bump my belly is growing at an alarming rate but swing from thinking all is ok to total panic that the same thing has happened again have still not had a scan got my 12wk one booked so until then its cross fingers. Have no symptoms so cant even rely on vomming.

Right think that is the longest post ever am off for a restorative KFC and a little Indiana Jones.

Madamejaffa · 18/05/2008 21:26

Good post you sound really happy jam. Archie sounds gorgeous!!
Well done and hats off to you for catching up I'd have bailed it!

Jorja will not walk, she has utter panic on her face if you try to get her to let go and stand on her own, she is the ultimate scaredy cat!! she knows she is requested to be walking down the isle, steady and un aided with her Auntie in August and in true likeness of her mother will not be doing it to please others. Still there's time I suppose.

twelveyeargap · 18/05/2008 23:04

Oh I am in the same ebay boat... Stuff EVERYWHERE. All the buggy stuff sold. Buggy for £246! Chuffed. It was £399 new, so I think that's a great return. It and all the accessories I sold cost £634 new and I got £363 back on everything. The new buggy is £366 so I feel like I've achieved something! All I need to pay for are the new buggy carry cot and car seat adaptors. Result! Needed nerves of steel though, as I put everything on no-reserve auctions.

We also managed to sell my moped for a great price today and now I'm busy listing the sh'te wedding presents we've had in boxes for years. Waterford Crystal photo frames and what have you. Shame people spend on things like that when it's not to your taste.

Once I get the buggy stuff out of the house I can move operations out of the living room and upstairs to the office and not have to look at it!

twelveyeargap · 19/05/2008 08:38

PJ - I meant to ask you; do you ever phone NHS Direct? I find them great. Like when A bumped her head and a bump swelled up on it, they were able to have be describe what it looked and felt like and could tell me that yes, it did warrant a hospital visit.

Likewise, there have been other times, (like when A developed the temporary lactose intolerance) that whatever was wrong (they couldn't diagnose that exactly), warranted an urgent visit to the GP, but not the hospital.

The other good thing is that when I rang the GP, for example, I could say "NHS Direct said an appt the sooner the better would be good" and they got me to come in that evening. And I didn't feel like a numpty when A's head was absolutely fine because I could say to the clinician that NHS Direct had recommended I come in.

I'm sure there are lots of Mumsnetters who will tell me that NHS Direct have got it wrong in the past, but to my mind, they are still health professionals and worthy of talking things over with. You ultimately have the decision making powers so if you think they're wrong, (you know your baby and they obviously can't see your baby), you can still go ahead and go to A&E, but they may very well calm you down.

Lupins71 · 19/05/2008 08:51

JAM so glad you are settled - it sounds lovely, where abouts are you now? what a bugger about the bike, hope insurance covers it, glad the bumpis growing nicely, good luck with scan, as for my hormones gawwwd knows of to docs this morning to see if blood tests showed anything - i shall report back later

TYG well done on your 1st sale, it can be nerve wrecking - i have some big baby bundles on atm with no bids will be gutted if they go for 99p but really want the space - that said i have some stuff with tons of watchers on some stuff and you hhave to wonder why - if you need a cheap courier go on money saving expert website he has loads i sent a big box other day for £5.95 also dont worry to much about measurements they generally dont check as long as its not massivly huge like a freezer

We are rearranging house today - dont have enough spare rooms for you all to visit, dp's pc is now going in our bedroom, as A is now in his own room (again), his room is going to be storage room and my ebay/junk room down stairs will move into dp's room as it is the smallest and ebay room will be new guest room - hope you followed that

Suppose i had better get my and dc's dressed

LGT i was about to say i will swop my period pain for your sickness then came to my senses hope you feel better soon x

Madamejaffa · 19/05/2008 08:52

Morning all, e-bay is begining to sound more and more of a nightmare on the selling front. Don't think I have the time and energy to do it although I do have alot of stuff so really should make the effort. I have about £400 worth of bambino-mio nappies and products hardly used in the loft. Sounds more complicated from abroard though.

TYG, they are great prices on your buggy stuff, well done you. Just £3 extra for the buggy is good justification.

Maddie is driving me mad, she is having a I'm not sleeping well stage..... yes, I can hear AM laughing her socks off at me now. Goes to bed fine but the last 4 mornings has been up about 5am and not settling again til 7am. Then like this morning she has to be up at 7.30am for school. This is all leading her to be the worst, most disgusting tempered toddler I have ever met. She is horrible all day then. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr I don't like her, someone take her, just for a bit please!!

largeginandtonic · 19/05/2008 09:18

Morning!

Jam your house and iddylic countryside sound fab! I remember our dogs always stealing the dirty nappies!!! Yuk. I am sure the bump is fine, when is your scan? You must be nervous but i just know this lo is ok The dog sounds lovely though, i do love a woofer. Bugger about the bike! People are shocking!

MrsJB you should dig it all out, it would be worth the effort and the money would be lovely. I am afraid i will pass on Maddie, B is quite enough to handle at the moment. He runs rings round me!

DH managed to sell his downhill mountain bike on ebay at the weekend. We had 31 watchers! It went for £400! He was not too thrilled as it is worth some ridiculous amount. It had to go though, no space and he never uses it. We were also out of money this month, i was so worried. A few unexpected bills and it was gone, i would not even have had anough diesel to get me to the hospital for a scan. It was all school run allocated plus we have a million apps this week including the appeal on Friday.

Anyhoo worry over, paypal need to land it in my bank asap.

Lups wonder what the doc will say? I have an app too this morning at 1030, hoping he will send me for a scan to date and count how many

Madamejaffa · 19/05/2008 09:41

OMG, count how many lg&t....... that hadn't even crossed my mind! Hope you get a scan though. xx

largeginandtonic · 19/05/2008 09:44

MrsJB if i am showing a positive test and am only 14 days after af then i can safely say there is a very good chance i am having more than one. I feel dredful and that would indicate high hcg levels, that and the test showing up so darkly at lunchtime!

JamInMyWellies · 19/05/2008 09:52

fuck fuck fuck so if it shows really quick and is very bright that can mean multiples, jesus in that case I am having triplets.

LG&T am sure you will be ok sounds like you are the same as us this month lots of meals involving mince and pasta.

largeginandtonic · 19/05/2008 09:56

We are going to eat Lexie and Mathilda when they come to stay next weekend! Dont tell Pink and SOH though

When did your test show up?

ShowOfHands · 19/05/2008 10:27

I'm not coming if you have money worries on top of everything. You don't need the hassle.

I know to the day when M was conceived. Bright positive test 9 days post-deed. Strong test often just means a healthy and thriving pg. And I took the test early as I felt shocking. Don't panic.

Madamejaffa · 19/05/2008 11:04

No don't panic lg&t, but if it is, and you get a blue one and a pink one, can I borrow the blue one for the first few months?

tehe..... you won't go hungry eating the tank thats for sure.....

SOH, Mathilda's little bike that is in the pictures on your FB, is it a "smart trike"?we bought J one with her birthday euro's she loves it sooooo much it has become her new playpen.

largeginandtonic · 19/05/2008 11:18

Noooo dont worry about the money! We have sold the bike, all ok now.

Really, a bright pos test 9 days post ov? That is a little reassuring, if only my cycle was normally shorter i wouldnt be so concerened. The doc said he will send me off to get some bloods done to measure the hcg level so i will have a better idea of dates. No scan Hey ho.

I feel awful, i want to be able to eat rice and chips to stave off this terrible sickness but cant, Everything goes straight through me

SKYTVADDICT · 19/05/2008 11:39

Many congrats LG&T. The thought of you having more than one in there did cross my mind for you!

Hi JW, unfortunately still rocking C to sleep or he falls asleep drinking his bottle! Occasionally tired enough to drop off in cot. I am just too tired to let him cry for long!

Bump is officially huge. I had my 28 week appointment this morning, all ok BUT the lovely midwife was very apologetic as according to "current regulations" I have to go to see the consultant at the next available appointment - tomorrow - as I am measuring large for dates - 33 weeks - whoops! I measured about 48 weeks pregnant at the end with C so no surprise then!

ShowOfHands · 19/05/2008 11:39

Tis a smart trike Jaffa and M adores it. It lives in the coal shed and M gets up every day, opens the back door (how did she learn to do that?), totters down to the coal shed and bangs on the door until the trike appears.

LG&T, you may have a bug too. Me, J and M have all had a D&V thing and so has most of Norfolk and MN by the sound of it. Ovulation is affected by stress levels. I nearly always ovulate on day 12 but very occasionally it's day 6 or 19 or something silly. The other thing is, your cervix is extremely sensitive during pg so if you're further on the colposcopy might have been very irritating to your poor, sensitive cervix, hence the bleeding. Shame they won't scan. You're not to join another antenatal thread btw. I claimed you in the name of May a long time ago and I will not relinquish my claim.

Lupins71 · 19/05/2008 11:40

MJB you arent allowed to sell nappies on ebay unless they are brand new - classed as used underwear and against thier hygiene rules - i only discovered this after i spent an age listing all mine then had them removed

LGT good luck with scan date, I hate those months when thier is noooo money left, thats when i get motivated and do ebaying - got tons of crap i could get rid of, Im still trying to find money for oil and council tax lol! and oil has nearly run out - oh bugger it - it does get worrying tho

Well doc says its deffo PNDD most of my symptoms are because of this, the hot flushes are where im coming off the paroxatine (anti'd) and have been put on a stronger one from 20mg to 100mg, he is a lovely little specky doc - very young and cute lol!

largeginandtonic · 19/05/2008 11:43

I do have a bug, it needs to bugger off

I need to eat!

Sky glad you are ok, you have been a bit quiet. 28 weeks sheesh, sure the consltant will be fine. You may get to see the lovely baby on screen

B is looking forward to friends his own age to play with, him and Hugs are not getting along nicely. B has started taking his toys

cameroonmama · 19/05/2008 12:06

Send Maddie over to me I will soon whip play with her .

LG&T if you want rice and chips its deffo a girl, all I ate with dd were potatoes and starch in any form, no wonder I put on 30kgs I'm sure your bump size is nothing to worry about Sky, they do like to be cautious though these docs.

Lups, hope you start feeling better soon.

J has started to show signs of a temper. I'm not happy about it, he has been so easy up until now When it gets too much I put him into his red Little Tikes car, that soon shuts him up.

Hmmmm twins, now that would be exciting, for us obviously when is the scan Jam?

Must go and feed my boy before school run...

LookattheLottie · 19/05/2008 12:09

Afternoon

C currently making her way through half a chicken lol, Taken all the white meat off it for her and she's munching her way through it. Have a pot of homemade soup on the boil and I'm off out to get some ingredients to make butter tablet and some cookies. Want to try making them first before C's Birthday, if they turn out crap I can try again.

Have a bag full of things to take down to the charity shop and another bag full of ebay itmes I need to post. I won a bundle of 3 summer dresses for C last night, 2 of which still have tags on. They're beautiful and only cost me £5.00 I love ebay sometimes

Baby music class was cancelled today which I was sad about as it was the last of this class C would have gone to, when they're one they get moved to the older class. I don't want my baby to grow up anymore!

MRJB send M over here, I'll sugar her up with cookies and tablet and send her back to you.

Right, going to get us bundled up and get into town. Hope all are well

MKG · 19/05/2008 12:51

Right, I would like to join the newly pregnant. However dh is not too keen on the idea right now. Tomorrow is my day to do the deed. The question is can I corner him and make him do it, or will he avoid me because he knows my secret intentions. (The only time I pounce on him is when I want another baby, so he'll know the jig is up)
