Good evening

I had Charlotte weighed on Monday and she was 20lbs 9oz, she was 7lbs 6.5oz at birth. She still has another week before she's one, but I don't expect her to put on nearly 2lbs before then lol. Not too far off though. She should be a whale with the ammount she eats, but she's just that active she must burn it all off.

I'm not in contact with exp or his family. Tbh, I'm not overly keen on his family and they wouldn't be a positive influence on Charlotte. They were one of the main reasons I wanted to split from my ex, needed away from them. Trying not to sound like a cow, but they've made even less effort with C than him. When I told my dad he might be coming his response was 'I didn't think Charley had a dad!'

AM hope you have a good flight home today.

LG&T sorry you're having to go through an appeal, that sucks.

Cam that sounds quite scary! But you do get sun lol! Ying and yand and all that

MID my goodness your old employers don't sound very nice, 60 hour weeks? No thank you lol!

Sky you're not a bad mummy at all, you did what needed to be done. I hope C is feeling better, poor wee mite!

Lups how did the phonecall to m&p go?

Pebble glad to hear A's check up went ok, the May 07 babies are the best after all!

PJ how is Lexi's rash doing?

And lastly HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Jorja and George! My god, I still can't believe they're all turning 1!

Well I had a lovely day today, I tried out a new baby group called wrigglers which is held in one of our local churches. Had a great time and the women there are so nice. Met lots of new people who made such a fuss of Charlotte, and went for a walk round the loch with a friend and her wee boy. He's only 4 months and I kid you not, he's not much smaller than C - and C is long! As we say in Scotland, he's a bit of a stoter lol!

Have loads of stuff on ebay at the minute, still loads to get on as well. It's hard work sorting all this stuff out, there's too much. Best get C to bed, on Fridays we let her have an extra hours play before bed.

Hope everybody has a good weekend x

Pebblemum · 16/05/2008 22:39

Happy Birthday George and Jorja (did try to post earlier but got distracted lol)

I have had a poo day, for some reason both DS's decided to wind me up, not listening to anything I said, generally being pain in the arses. Even now they are awake but know better than to get out of bed, think they've finally realised they've pushed me too far. Have been feeling very tired lately so dont think that has helped with my patience. Hopefully tomorrow will be a bit easier, J is going to watch the Pompey match and i expect E will be out playing so as long as Alana is good (as usual) then it should be a nice calm day for me.

AM hope the trip home is ok, dont envy you at all lol. Just thinking of your long journey home makes me feel weary

I came onto the pc to do something important but now im on here my mind has gone blank, Im sure I'll remember once im tucked up in bed but for now I guess I may as well play bingo, wish me luck girls

twelveyeargap · 17/05/2008 10:01

Welcome back MID. I was doing similar hours to that. I could go back to doing 7-5 if I had a nanny, but I'd prefer not to! I'm on a second maternity leave at the moment. HR managed to swing me 5 weeks holiday at the end of the last one, then 6 weeks unpaid parental leave, then back on maternity leave for a year with 6 months full pay. Jammy cow, I know. Will feel sliiiiggghtly guilty when/ if I don't go back. Nice to have options open if I decide working a 50/60 hour week is easier than looking after two under two, which may indeed be the case! However, I'd need a pay rise, because with what I'd be looking to pay per year in London for a nanny (or even a nursery for two), it would barely be covered by my pre-babies, doing lots of overtime wage. It would be a lot less than my salary-only take home.

No point in going back if it's going to cost me money!

Can't believe your minder is going to take two kids for £5 an hour SKY! I was paying that for a non-registered minder for Saoirse 5 years ago here. (Non-registered because S was over 8 and registration doesn't apply anyway.) I know one of the local nurseries here is £75 a day and the sibling discount is very little.

twelveyeargap · 17/05/2008 10:06

This three times birth weight thing sounds like a load of parp. A was 9lb 5oz. There is no way on Earth she'll be almost 28lbs in two week's time. She'd be the size of a whale! She's only about 20lbs. (Only! Ha!) Given neither DH nor I are tall, her birth weight was a "blip" I think, probably due to her being quite late. That's why I stopped getting her weighed. They kept talking about her falling off her centile, when I though that being born on the 98th centile was too high for a baby born of a 5ft 3" mother and a 5ft 9" father. We're both "average", so let's say 50th centile or slightly below, so there's no reason she shouldn't be, imo.

madeindevon2 · 17/05/2008 10:29

TYG- if you dont go back will you have to pay any of the money back?
its not mean feat looking after 2 under 2 but very rewarding.....
i thought about getting a part time job locally but with childcare you dont get much left.....!
id like to take a few years off...hubby has other ideas (hes a broker too and has been touting me in the market and seems keen on getting me back to work) but he hasnt really thought of the reality of it i dont think...
i dont want a nanny bring up our little boy....!and im sure he doenst too

MKG · 17/05/2008 13:31

Belated Happy Birthday to Jorja and George!

Things are going well here. The sun is shining. The children are funny and happy, and the house is clean. What more can I ask for in life. (Maybe I'll clean out the car which is my office on wheels, so I can be fully purged of junk in my life.

Shock Shock Shock

cameroonmama · 17/05/2008 17:29

I agree, the three times birth weight must be garbage, because the only baby to reach it here is J, who weighed 3.75kgs at birth and at last weigh in in Feb was 12 kgs And we all know what a biffer he is. Can't be normal.

Pink! Happy Birthday to Lexie How have you coped with the party? How was the domestic goddess? I hope you all had a lovely stress free day.

ShowOfHands · 17/05/2008 18:38

OMG. I can't breathe.

Are you?

Lupins71 · 17/05/2008 19:28

Arlen is definatly more than 3 times birth weight but i'd be very worried if he werent

MID where abouts are you in devon - i live near tavistock now

Had a lovely meal last night with the most amazing pudding, Arlen gave mum a hard time and had me up lots in the night, he is still under the weather but dosed him up with calpol & nurofen and he soon chippers up

DD only has 4 days left at school and guess who's period is late [worried sick emoticon] going to test tomorrow or monday am only a day late so will prob give till monday - f**k

cameroonmama · 17/05/2008 19:51

NML - OMG, you are not No more LG&T's for you then????????

AprilMeadow · 17/05/2008 20:24

I did wonder if it was a load of crap when she said about the weight thing, but as Ella is over 3 times (5.10 at birth) i didnt really think too much of it... what do HV's know anyway they always contradict each other and themselves.

Back home now - boo hiss. Flight was actually wonderful. Both kids slept for 4.5hrs out of a 7.5 hour flight and that time was filled with taking off, landing and food! Got through the door and then straight out again as Jack had a party to go to. He fell asleep at 4pm and woke briefly to get into pj's before going to bed at half seven. Ella had her tea, bath and milk and didnt fight going down at all. Got a nice early start tomorrow at Thruxton for the touring cars

Been for a walk round the new house today and showed J&E their new bedrooms etc etc. Am quite excited now i am home!

I dont think i could have gone back to work after having E if it wasnt for the fact we have our own company.. It costs nearly twice what i earn to send them to nursery 3.5 days a week!

OP posts:
NowMaLarkin · 17/05/2008 20:44

I am

I still cant quite believe it, i have a mini pill prescription waiting for me at the chemist

I have felt incredibly sick for the last 2 days and assumed (along with jippy tum) that it was a bug and i would lose some blardy weight. Apparently this bug is going to make me put it on...

I am a little confused because this means (symptom wise for me) that i am about 6-7 weeks which pre dates the Coloposcopy and the bleeding i had with it. I assumed it was a period as it was so heavy and clotty.

Or it could mean i am only 2 weeks, just. This make me nervous as the test (when dh convinced me to take it) was done at lunchtime and came up shocking pink immediately. I culdnt believe it so took another aftyer a half pint of water and it showed up bright pink straight away. This may mean my hormone levels are sky high and my symptoms are here because of this. Now you can understand why this would make me nervous right?

So MN jury whaddya think?

This is despite convincing myself that a baby right now is not good timing. I should have known...

Your next then Lups

AprilMeadow · 17/05/2008 21:07

thats fantastic malarkin!!! I would say more like 6/7wks as a 2wk pg wouldnt show up this early on a pg test surely..... So that would be an end of dec/early jan baby how exciting Just think how many 'aunties' will be on hand to come visit and take the kiddies to the park etc

So lups, when will you know...?

OP posts:
Madamejaffa · 17/05/2008 21:56

NMA too for you, but

Not sure about your dates! Tests are pretty accurate and can pick up changes early, will they do you a dating scan?

OMG, I am so excited for you all. What did N say?

This was obviously meant to be. Oh and BTW, it's PINK!! P has willed me to think that!

Happy Birthday Lexie!!

Lups too!

Pebblemum · 17/05/2008 23:27

Wow MaLarkin!!!!! Cant wait to find out more Fingers crossed its a pink one otherwise poor Phin may not be too happy lol

Lups Hope you are ok

I hardly ever watch football but today I had the house to myself so instead of having to watch kids cartoons I could watch what I wanted yet I sat there and watched the entire FA cup final. Of course we won but I thought Cardiff played a good game. Havent seen Dh yet so can imagine the state he will be in when he finally drags himself home

I think that Alana's strange tummy last week may have been a bug because since Wednesday I've been the same and she now seems almost back to normal. Its getting annoying now though because im fine if i only have a small snack but if i eat a proper meal then i get a dodgy tummy. Oh well maybe I will lose a bit of weight lol

charleymouse · 18/05/2008 00:17

12YG sorry to here you were burgled.
LG&T CONGRATUATIONS woohoo, also sending pink vibes for Phins sake.
LATL thin you are right to try and keep contact but if it does not happen realise you were the bigger person and let it go but try to keep an updated contact for the future.
Belated Happy Birthday to Jorja-Mai, George and Kimi.
SKY that is a bargain well done.
Welcome back MID.

Will catch up soon promise. DDs room is now finished & furnished and we are moving downstairs to get the house finished, had hoped to move in this week but still not completed. Had the bed delivered on Thursday it is lovely went for a superking size and it seems huge and is so comfy. The mattress we currently have is poking springs out left right and centre as it was bought when I was preggers with DD so has gone through a lot bless it.

G has changed form a bag of spuds a fortnight ago into proper crawling last week followed by pulling up this week to now cruising and climbing! He also eats like a pig and is a biffa these days. He has had a bit of a cold for a week or so and I am a bit concerned about his chest, had to visit the nurse last week as DD having nose bleeds and she said if G still chesty by Monday get him in to the Drs. Had to cancel his MMR last week as he was off it but will probably wait until he is a little older for that anyway as that is what we did with DD.

Anyways officially classed as back at work now and last years holidays run out on Wednesday next week. Do not want to go back though especially as house move not done yet, also as they are shutting us down do not really feel motivated to going bak to a job that no-one gives a sh1t about. If I tack on this years hols I can string it out a bit but then have no hols left for this year. Got to contact the boss and see what she wants me to do.

Hope you are all well.

charleymouse · 18/05/2008 00:31

HAPPY BIRTHDAY ALEXA.

PJ don't bother with the concealer just photoshop the pics and she will never know.

Lups hope you get the result you are looking for.

Hi MJ, SOH, Cam, Scoot, PM, AM, C, AMe, ED, MKG, AL, & Meg. Hello anyone I have missed 'tis not intentional just tiredness setting in please forgive me.

Will catch up later promise.

twelveyeargap · 18/05/2008 09:05

and at MaLarkin! Congratulations!

I don't think there's ever a "good time" to have a baby. Something always comes up. I know you really do have an exceptional amount on your plate at the moment, but things work themselves out. There's a whole 8 months or so until the baby comes anyway. Loads of time.

PJ - Photoshop is right. If you can take out redeye, why not take out a spotty face. Actually...

Charley - What a transformation! George was obviously biding his time til he could do it all and now there'll be no stopping him.

cameroonmama · 18/05/2008 09:30

LG&T it could well be two weeks or perhaps you ovulated a bit earlier than when you thought you had? I certainly had symptoms with J only two weeks after conception, dh noticed that I was acting 'odd' and I was so tired. I would be surprised if it was before the coloposcopy with all the bleeding you had but not impossible I guess. Babies are always sent at 'not the best time' that's why we get so much joy out of having them Mahooosive congrats! And its definitely a pink one. What did dh say?

How about you then Lups?

Charley its lovely to hear how well George is doing, I hope he is soon clear of his cold.

NowMaLarkin · 18/05/2008 10:51

If i am pregnant following the Colposcopy then i must have ovulated at 12 days, i have a long cycle and normal for me is ovulation at 28-30 days. This would mean the test has shown up mega clear at exactly 14 days post ov. It can only be one of 2 occasions 14 days ago or 7. Oh god i feel sick I am eating dried cheerios. I made a samndwich on Thursday and remember sitting there thinking yuk, how very silly why on earth would i not like it!I am a muppet. There is no hope.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ALL THE LOVELY BABIES I HAVE MISSED!!!!

Cam you lovely lady B's pressie is waitng for him to open on Monday and Phin is wearing her lovely Kenyan hairband, she hasnt taken it off! You are very naughty. Is there anything i can send over? Chocolate, tea bags, Vodka

The kids have all gone to church, i cannot. Still have dodgy tum. Have to munch though or feel dredful!

Dh is thrilled btw, pleased as punch and very pleased to be seeing all of it this time. Last time he was away and i didnt see him till i was 12 weeks and then again at Xmas, then not till Feb! He can suffer enjoy it all with me.

JamInMyWellies · 18/05/2008 11:05

I'M BACK!!!

Off to catch up did I just see LG&T is preggers, whooppeeeee

LookattheLottie · 18/05/2008 12:26

LG&T Oh congratulations! I'm so happy for you! Although also a little lol!

AM glad your flight was ok.

JAM welcome back.

CM good to hear wee George is goijg well.

Afternoon to evrybody

Happy Birthday Lexie!

I'm still ebaying I can't be bothered, but it has to be done. C's Birthday is looming closer and she's getting too much new stuff. My sister's bought her a trampoline, no idea where the feck that's going what with the dolls pram, ball pool, swing, ride on trike and dolls house to name a few taking up all free space already. I may cry lol!

I'm now being told off because I've trashed the study with everything I'm ebaying. I've got crap overspilling everywhere. C's at that awkward age where she's starting to grow out of her old clothes but her new ones and still too big, so I've got 2 frickin wardrobes worth of cothes rammed into one. I can't takethe mess, it's everywhere. I like clean and tidy......

Oh and AM can you send me out a new spreadsheet of the babies Birthdays when you get a chance please? Or anyone else who does have it? We've changed our internet over and muppet that I am, left the spreadsheet on my old account which now doesn't exist. [email protected] - thank you

Madamejaffa · 18/05/2008 12:29
