TillyScoutsmum · 02/05/2008 10:36

Tilly's going through her Tombliboo stage at the moment - but I'm buggered if I'm going to try and make that cake... Have surrendered and bought an ITNG cake from Morrisons. I have made tiramasu though (yay - go me !!!)

SKYTVADDICT · 02/05/2008 10:53

We have never watched In the Night Garden yet! He does watch a lot of Teenage programmes though - he mostly ignores them!

C can also sleep for 3 hours during the day - sorry PJ! He tends to do this and miss lunch though!

mom2latinoboys · 02/05/2008 12:56

Good morning everyone!! As far as weight talk goes. I have lost a total of 17 pounds so far in the first month of my diet. I still have about 40 till I lose all the baby weight. Oh well keep on tugging. Hope to be there by August though.

Am again of another meet up. I will have to print out pictures and make life size versions. Then I can sit in my house drinking tea with all of the pictures and laughing with them. That's a good idea because my house could be totally destroyed, and I would only have to make one cup of tea. I don't think I'll ever invite real people over again.

MKG · 02/05/2008 13:01

Oh and I've decided to go back to my old name. I can't deny who I am inside.

LookattheLottie · 02/05/2008 15:32

Hey everyone

I had the worst interview for college yesterday. I was so nervous about it. I went in and sat down, and within 2 minutes had been told I couldn't do the course I wanted as I was 'over qualified' and basically told to f**c off. I burst out into tears and had the biggest panic attack of my life! The interview had been arranged since the 12th of feb and nobody bothered to even look at my application to see what qualifications I had! The bloody time and effort that was put into yesterday, including long drives and finding someone to watch C! Still cannot believe it happened, it feels as though it happened to someone else.

To make things worse C has 4 frickin teeth coming through and is being a nightmare! Poor thing's in pain and constantly screaming. Any suggestions for stopping the pain? Tried medised, calpol and bonjela. Not doing much. Might just wrap her up and go for a walk.

Bensonbluebird · 02/05/2008 15:34

MKG - that would be fab! then you could introduce your DH to all the women yo uhave met on the internet an he wouldn't think you were mad at all.

Bensonbluebird · 02/05/2008 15:37

LATL - poor you. If medised isn't working I don't know what will. A likes to chew a wet flannel when he is teething. I can only send sympathy. Do you have any other options for college?

Pinkjenny · 02/05/2008 15:47

LW - nightmare. L is the same. Have you tried Ashtons and Parsons or Dentinox Teething Gel?

L is constantly trying to bite me.

AbbyLou · 02/05/2008 19:33

Hi all, thanks for your kind messages. Last night wasn't as bad as i thought in the end. R stayed up with us until 10.30 screaming pretty much all the time. When we took her up we were going to put herin with us where she has spent the last 3 nights! At the last minute I decided to try her in her own bed and I'm glad I did because she went almost straight to sleep and didn't wake again until morning. She seems to be pretty much fine during the day now, just a bit sleepy but she isn't eating which worries me. She had just started being brilliant with food as you know and I dread going backwards. It's night time when everything seems to bother her. Fingers crossed please for a better night tonight, she is currently asleep.

Mum2G · 02/05/2008 19:43

LW - teething can be relly horrid for them can't it, parsons powders seem to work for G

Yey my viccy sponge rose and passed the taste test

We have a dilemma, our house has been on the market for 6 weeks and we have just been offered 25K under asking price, they have nothing to sell, this is their second and so they say - final offer, i think it may be a bit of a sleepless night!

AprilMeadow · 02/05/2008 19:50

Happy Birthday to Tilly
And an early happy birthday to Callum for Monday.

Will be off line now until the 19th as we are off to Florida on Sunday and have the wedding of the year tomorrow!

We are taking the laptop as we are going away with our business partner and need to keep tabs on the staff so might be able to pop on.

ttfn xx

Have a great time April. So .

Think dh has come round to having another baby. Have used my most persuasive HR influencing skills and put forward most pertinent arguments.

elkiedee · 02/05/2008 21:16

I expect I've missed AM but hope you have a lovely holiday if not.

Where's the list of birthdays for this thread?

A year ago exactly I'd been at the hospital for a couple of hours, as I was induced. I was very scared and had about 5 hours to go until labour kicked in. He didn't show up until the early hours of Friday morning though (the 4th).

ShowOfHands · 02/05/2008 21:19

how is d elkie? are you celebrating his b-day?

1 handed typing as bf

elkiedee · 02/05/2008 21:23

D is growing lots of teeth! The childminder seems a bit worried about him. The plan is to have a picnic in Finsbury Park on Sunday, we've invited a few old friends and a few mums and babies - one dad and babies falls into both categories although his two adopted dcs are slightly older - one turns 2 on Tuesday and is celebrating the following weekend - her party will be D's (and our) first as guests.

ShowOfHands · 02/05/2008 21:31

hope it's nice weather for you. are you worried about him?

have you seen the cambridge folk fest line-up? am trying to coerce somebody into accompanying me.

go on, you know you want to.

did you see bbc4 tonight- transatlantic folk sessions. rosanne cash very good i thought.

Pinkjenny · 02/05/2008 21:33

SOH - I am going to an event in a park in Liverpool on 3rd August. 5.30 to 7.30 is the musci from Dirty Dancing, and then 8.00 onwards is Bjorn Again.

Do you want to come to that?

How long are we staying with LG & T for?

elkiedee · 02/05/2008 21:36

Aaarrrrggh no I missed it, will have to see if it's on replay, or Iplayer.

Which weekend is Cambridge Folk Festival? it's always sounded very tempting to me but have a feeling it often coincides with the Harrogate Crime Festival.

ShowOfHands · 02/05/2008 21:39

about 3 years.

i like parks. i'll come and bring my fiddle (tis purple) and wear a straw hat. will the scousers like me if i play some proper music for their aural delectation?

elkiedee · 02/05/2008 22:21

I'm really quite drawn to the idea of the Cambridge Folk Festival. It's two weeks after Harrogate, and I could do it with one day's leave or none dp seems up for it though I suspect he's not convinced about the camping... maybe I'll see if I can get tickets and camping when they go on sale next weekend and if I do worry about how to do it then!
