Yes the lovely dts...

They were telling me only yesterday how they ha a new maths teacher. One aftrenoon with them and i am not sure she is coming back. They swapped seats, then glasses and then tables They only stumbled when the teacher kept answering questions as they had to then speak, the rest of the class 'outed' them then.

Erm dh... he is um, very supportive. Oh good lord, perhaps i should send him away for the weekend? He is not scary in the least, i promise. Just a tough love kinda man He is always the first to pick B up though if he is crying, softie at heart. 'Man up' indeed SOH

largeginandtonic · 01/05/2008 16:19

They have a KK shop right next to the Station, now that is inspired. We must ferry ride and go over tis fun.

Littlelapin lives right next door to the lovely shops. We are meeting soon i hope.

Mum2G · 01/05/2008 17:14

Hi all, just popping in quick with a birthday cake sos

I have posted a question in recipes, so if anyone in the know has got the time to reply it would be much appreciated

trying not to have a major stress, i am no baker, but will not be beaten by MIL - who said "you're not gonna buy one aren't you?" GGGrrrrrrrrrrrr

AbbyLou · 01/05/2008 18:51

Hi everyone, just popping in breifly. Apologies for the lack of posting. R has been really poorly with an ear infection and we haven't had any sleep for 3 nights now. I feel like a zombie. Fortunately she seems to be on the mend now. I think we have tried absolutely every trick in the book for getting a temperature to stay down! She has got 2 teeth come through as well and I have been told by my cm that one of her kids had an ear infection every time they cut a tooth. Dear Lord, I can't go through this every time.
I've had a really brief read and it sounds as though everyone is all right. I can't believe a week today my baby will be 1.

Pinkjenny · 01/05/2008 20:00

Hi all

Mum2G - I'm so impressed. Will definitely be buying L's cake.

Abby - poor you and your munchkin - glad she's on the mend and hopefully in slumberland now.

LG & T - after conflab with my mum have decided that SOH's approach is the best option, leave around 6, 6.30 and hope she sleeps all the way . Could you cope with us all landing at once?

ShowOfHands · 01/05/2008 21:07

Yahoooooooo! PJ coming to the meet.

I'm making Tildy a xylophone cake. Nice and simple.

Poor R Abby. Mathilda only suffered with tooth1. Next 5 came through without a hitch.

AprilMeadow · 01/05/2008 21:58

Yay Pink and SOH are coming down - god help Gosport!! Is there room for a day visitor, or 3?

Lups, new shoes - sounds fab.

LG&T, next friday i think. crapping pants tbh

Hi all,
Well have been very poorly sick >>angles for sympathy emoticon

AbbyLou · 01/05/2008 22:14

Hi all. Scoot sorry you've been poorly. Thanks for your email. Well my thinking R was recovering was short-lived. She is, as we speak, sobbing on dh's knee on the sofa. She is so so so exhausted but just can't sleep. She drops off, then something wakes her, she screams, then drops off and it all starts over again. Looks like I'm in for another night of no sleep.....

Lupins71 · 01/05/2008 23:24

SCOOT sorry youhave been poorly, yeyyy on the size 10 tho , lol at dh coping with L

ABBY sorry you havent ad any sleep, ear infections are nasty tho poor love

I have just got in from highly amusing night at work to find baby awake in cot and dp flat out on sofa , we were actually busyish - well for pub in sticks, had about 15 customers at busiest time lol -that would be considered dead in reading, still they are all so friendly even the holiday makers were buying me drinks tnite -no way time to drink them all have nice list gathering in back of book

largeginandtonic · 02/05/2008 08:03

Pink yes of course, it all be fine. I am very excited

Mum2G i missed the birthday cake saga, what happened? You should have just come over here, i would have baked yuo a cake and then you could have told your mil you made it! I have done it before.

SOH a xylophone cake, nice! You will all be here for Beau birthday. How nice he will get a wee party with all his girlfriends. DD is going to be so thrilled with all the females in the house!

Abby poor R, could be the wrong antibiotics for her? Hope she had a better night, and you!

Scoot my lovely i am sorry to hear you have been poorly, that is no fun at all. Did you feel ghastly when you had the extra too? That is why it was so hard, honest. PMSL at dh having to cope with L, that is brilliant. It adds a new dimension for him. They all need to see it sometimes (and why do they always save that kind of behaviour for us?)

Lups good news on the stack of drinks, that will be useful

April it will all be ok, i feel it. No need to panic

I was up a lot in the night, the boy was chatting to himself at 4am then i had to get up to take dh to work at 645. I whizzed to the post office to pick up a parcel (hoping it was my buggy) and now i have to go to work! Sod it.

largeginandtonic · 02/05/2008 08:05

It was not my buggy btw, now i dont have one!

Lupins71 · 02/05/2008 08:08

ooopsmeant to say ABBY not Labby I dont really think of you as a labrador honestly

Flooopin baby and dd, if one wasntawake then the other was, dont know what time o got sleep whatever it was it was on the spare room as dd had got in with me - she was upset because she thought she had gone to bed with no dinner, had to remind her she had it early because mummy was working and she said " oh was that dinner, i thougt that was a snack" anyway am feeling very pooped and have too much to do today,

SKYTVADDICT · 02/05/2008 09:29

Morning all

Why oh why is DD2 such a trial? Had another horrible morning with her - apparently she hates me! May go later and start a thread in parenting but as I am at work might not get the chance - really at the end of my tether with her.

I don't have a birthday list - Happy Birthday to anyone who was born this weekend?

C really good as usual but still requires rocking to sleep! That and the fact that he shouts a lot (not a surprise in our house) are his only faults at the moment bless him!

DP wanted to do food and everyting for people to come Monday for his birthday but I ahve said cake, wine and cups of tea will suffice. Will definitely be buying the cake though!

Pinkjenny · 02/05/2008 09:31

Abby - what a nightmare for you. at dd with her mealtime requirements. Bless her. Things like this always remind me of my grandparents arguing because she had done new potatoes and his 'taste buds were expecting chips'.

LG & T - am so excited now. Am practising broadening my scouse drawl just for SOH, and of course have ordered customised shellsuits for L and I.

Sleep - still crap. I'm resigned to it.

Lups - are you enjoying work at the pub? Are you a Kym Ryder type that leans on the bar and chats to the regulars?

Scoot - so at the size 10s. Am scared to meet LG & T and SOH as they will see how mahoosive I am. I was a lovely size 12 before all this, you know! Bloody baby.

Pinkjenny · 02/05/2008 09:32

X post Sky - sorry to hear DD2 being a pain.

Don't let work stop you posting. We'll join the dole queue together if we get sacked.

SKYTVADDICT · 02/05/2008 09:43

Work very quiet PJ but still would be in trouble if get caught .

Is is the last BH weekend in May you are going to Gosport? That is when we were coming to Liverpool but I think it will be off now - I just need to talk sense into DP as we are both very overedrawn in the bank and I don't think we can justify a weekend away!

Mum2G · 02/05/2008 09:47

Morning yummy mummies

Thanks for the offer LGT, hopefully i should be ok - failure is not an option! I have two weeks to practice as not his bday til 16th and figure if it all goes tits up, i can use the cake to make a trifle and stick a candle in that lol!

I am nearly all tooled up - just off to get the right tins, i bought 1 10" square after reading in a book but turns out that was for a madeira mixture and i want to do a viccy sponge, Dh came home with two 7" round ones - but they are 4" deep and so i am off out now to get some shallow ones. Oh what fun!

ShowOfHands · 02/05/2008 09:47

I used to be a size 12 too PJ. Worry not, am lardiest 27yr old in the world. LG&T's a stunner though!

TillyScoutsmum · 02/05/2008 09:51

Don't talk to me about cake making - tried to make one for Tilly's birthday and its an absolute disaster Maybe an Iggle Piggle cake was a bit ambitious for a first timer ?

Anyway - people aren't coming round until tomorrow so I'm going to buy one - I'm such a failure

Sorry you've been poorly Scoot but well done and on the size 10. I don't think I've been a size 10 since I was a teenager

Pinkjenny · 02/05/2008 09:57

OK let's change the subject, I hate all this weight talk. My tummy is so flabby its revolting. And in 11 weeks time I have to sit on a beach with my Size 10 mother. Bring on the kaftans!

SOH - am soooooooooo excited!!!!! Bring on the Pinot! And the Schloer obviously!

Tilly - Iggle Piggle! Lord almightly, I struggle making my cakes round!

Mum2G - can't wait to hear how it goes. Are you coming over all 'domestic goddess?'.

Sky - we'll meet one day I'm sure, you have to see dp's family sometime!

Mum2G · 02/05/2008 10:16

pink - no just a goddess

to tell the truth, i have handed in my thesis, and so have two days a week to fill til i get it back from my supervisor

Much as i love G - am also finding playing with blocks and hoops etc a little unstimulating at times and need a challenge - also something to do when G has his day naps (which often are 3 hours - most annoying when the sun is out - i have filled the freezer with slow cooker stuff and can't cook much more til we move - when i want a chest freezer - omg i just realised how boring i sound!

ShowOfHands · 02/05/2008 10:23

PJ, my Mum's an 8/10 and moans that it took her 6 weeks to lose her baby weight. I ignore her mostly. My tummy isn't just flabby, it's the stretchmarks adorning it that really set it off.

Tilly, my dd would cry if you ate Igglepiggle (she loves him) so maybe it's for the best. You can get Igglepiggle dress up outfits for 1yr olds. Is that too cruel? Faury cakes are a doddle and cute for a child's teaparty. I've made jam tarts today as dh's grandma's coming for lunch. Have eaten 3 already.

[gannet]

Scoot

((((((((hugs)))))))))

Poor you. When do you want to meet in Cambridge?

AM, your presence is required for tea and cake at the meet. I want to teach Jackanory some new tricks to drive his preggo mum mad. You won't be btw, odds are on your side.

Pinkjenny · 02/05/2008 10:26

Mum2G - Don't be coming on here bragging about your 3 hour sleep child . L can usually manage 35 minutes.

Tilly - L is much more of a Macca Pagga gal. Mmm, I love fairy cakes and so does L. We went to my niece's birthday party last Sunday and L swiped the cake off her cousin's plate and demolished it. That's my girl!

I just can't understand why I haven't lost the last 2 stone, what with all the crap I eat.

Mum2G · 02/05/2008 10:32

Brandy in his bottle works for us

not always sleeping through at night though - tried giving water but he won't settle without having a full bottle of milk - must be a growth spurt - was awake 2-5 blimmin knackered - next door got new baby which wakes me up in the night too
