elkiedee · 26/04/2008 11:03

Hi all

LW, sorry about your friend.

Amused by the thoughts about having another. We're all still waiting on April 2007 for someone to be pg, one's actively trying and I'm dithering. I'm jealous of all you younger people, at my (old) age I can't really wait and see how I feel in a year or two.

Have finally sent out an email asking people to join us for a birthday picnic in the park next Sunday. Just really hoping the weather comes out to play again too.

largeginandtonic · 26/04/2008 12:45

Lups yay on the sleep, keep it up. He will get it just perservere. I borrowed my wedding dress, but i'm not very girly and the thought of a wedding with all people looking at me filled me with dread. The hippy style sounds perfect Have fun in Plymouth, i have a friend who owns a pram shop (i know dream job) in Hyde Park where i udes to live. It is called Prams Etc, she sells all manor of gorgeous things. Google her, she is called Becky Wilkinson and knows me well. She has 3 gorgeous kiddies, when she had Ruby i used to steal her at every toddlers she is so scrummy. Go and take a look, bit out of town though you would need to drive.

Soremummy don't tell me that! I was just thinking maybe i will leave it for a few years and have another 2 (to make it 8, you know how i hate odd numbers)Right now i dont want ANYMORE!

MrsJB just what i was thinking! A lovely train ride and drive back, coffee on the way and maybe sneak in some shopping (blame traffic) Never mind, peace in the house for you If you lock the kids in their cupboard

Latinomom if only i could lie in bed... dh said this morning you seem to be much worse since the doc gave you his diagnosis. He said you were not struggling to get up and move before, i said i was you just didnt notice I wish it would fook off.

I have a list of stuff to do today, have already started with sorting ds#3 and dd room out. Have left them to it now.

Lupins71 · 27/04/2008 19:46

No posts all day - what on earth has happened to you all????

A did well again last night just a few moans and groans and a bottle about midnight, yippeeee

Took dc's to trethorne park today, dd bottle fed a lamb, milked a cow, rode a pony trampolined and did soft play, A had a go on a few things and was knackered bless him

I have headache, not even my usual coctail is shifting it

Hope ev1 has been out enjoying the fab weather all weekend, gorgeous here today apart from a bit of drile early on

Mrsjaffabiffa · 28/04/2008 09:58

Thats good Lups... well done Arlen! Hope your head feels better soon.

Raining here.

lg&t, are you resting that back as much as you can?

largeginandtonic · 28/04/2008 12:38

Haha MrsJb. I am a pinkiller junkie

Dd has her appointment tomorrow with the cosultant, should be ok i hope. We see the Growth Hormone specialist 8th May. Bless her, she has some tough times ahead.

My back is frickin killing me, i have had enough. At least the baby is asleep is suppose, toddlers soon. Hugs is keen so may drag myself out to do it.

Clever boy Arlen! You must be getting a bit more sleep Lups?

SOH wher are youoooooooooooooo? You too TYG i know you are back

Lupins71 · 28/04/2008 14:33

Errrrm lups has gone overboard on sleep, wemt to bed at 11pm woke at 6.30am went back to bed 10am and woke at2.15pm OMG and that was only cos landlord was at the door (we have leaky oil tank ) however during my last sleep I was having a fab dream, there was me LGT MJB PJ AM SCOOT those are the ones that come to mind in my post sleep haze - anyway we were all of on some mad adventure to new york, I was trying to phone dp to tell him that he shouldnt worry that i wont be home for dinner we were going round in madonna style fur coats and limo's having a great time - then i was woken up by farmer jack and him cow poo covered overalls and muddy wellies

So as you can probably tell Arlen and I are both sleeping much better in our own beds altho i was tempted earlier to snook him in for a big cuddle i knew i would fall asleep with him and we would be back to square one

LGT keep taking the pills

Juicylucytoo · 28/04/2008 20:45

SOH - I just read your post about sleep from last Friday. I think I love you

I has developed total Seperation Angst in the last week and will now only sleep if I nurse him to sleep. Before that from about 6 weeks to 10 months I could always put him down and he'd get himself off to sleep. After about 4 days of him getting in a state when I left the room I tried (attempted) controlled crying (1min out / 30 sec in). After 15 minutes he and I were in a horrible state. Have now abandoned CC FOREVER.

Tonight I didin't even try to put him down to settle on his own. He was asleep in my arms in about 1 minute.

Right now, I think I will just keep doing this until I feel he doesn't need it anymore. That may of course all change, but thanks for making me feel better x

Hi to all of you. Sorry I'm a crap poster. xx

AprilMeadow · 28/04/2008 22:02

Lupins71 · 29/04/2008 11:30

Happy Birthday CAM,have a fab day, sending youlots of virtual KK'S and Devon fudge

Ok ladies, obviously none of you have this this but do any of you have sisters/mums ect that have been through the menopause, I happened to look on the menopause threads and I have quite a few of the symptoms - dp has said for a while he susspects I am perimenopausal as he listens to womans hour lol, hot flushes, mood swings, no libido, ability to sleep all day long amgoing to the quacks on weds anyway to say that the antideppressants are having no effect whatsoever on my moods what do you all think would be interesting to hear if you have any experiances with relatives that have been through it, i'm 37 this year so could be the right age

A is back to 7-7 sleeping its official and he is generally having about 2hours at lunchtime,he has also started sleeping on his front strangly enough

Popped into may08 thread and they seriously chatas much as we did when we had time on our hands, made me chuckle

When i was working last night dp's boss and his missus were in, she is 22wks pg, everyone had told me she never smiles and is miserable and never talks to anyone, well i had her chatting, smiling and she said she wants me to go to john lewis and help her with the baby shopping nearer the time - oh and did i think 5 pairs of isabella oliver trousers was enough, only they are £180 a pair and she wants to do it in one go (lupins jaw drops open),I will gladly go any help you spend a few grand in one go , and she refuses to have baby around here she's going to stay in thier london property and go private, hmmm lets hope baby isnt to early then lol!

mom2latinoboys · 29/04/2008 15:06

Good morning everyone!. Well it's not really morning, but good day. I hope everyone is having a lovely day. Here it's pretty nasty outside. It's been raining for about 3 days. Totally sucks, and the kids have all this wound up energy from going on our walks. Oh well.

I'm totally getting ready for Cruz's birthday party. I can't believe he's going to be one. This year has totally flown by.

largeginandtonic · 29/04/2008 16:14

HAPPY BIRTHDAY CAM!!!!!! Eat lots and drink lots and be very merry

Lups 37 is a bit young for the menopause? My god i am only 7 years away from that myself!

The baby is doing my nut in, he is a grooty whinge bag and i want to exchange him for a happy one, please?

cameroonmama · 29/04/2008 16:54

I'll exchange one grotty one for one that weighs a bloody tonne and refuses to stay still for a nano second. Between him and the puppy I am knackered.

Bloody hell Lups on the sleep front, well done you, see Pink, read and take heart there is hope for you if you really want to do it Please don't be talking about 37 being about right for the menopause, are you a nutter or what? That means I can expect it any day now . Frankly I get the odd hot flush or two in the night, I am stroppy as they come then nice as pie, libido and tired, don't even go there and I get 8 hours sleep a night and someone to help me in the house... exercise, that's all you need Or as dh would say 'pull yourself together woman'

Thanks for all your birthday wishes, I got some rather eccentric presents typically in the style of my 007 dh. A head torch, a girls safari guide, a book, a packet of coriander seeds (he doesn't even like coriander) an across the body handbag thing like what yoof wear. And.... ballroom dancing lessons . I've given up suggesting possible presents (this year I suggested some lovely local glasses and/or a keyboard) and just accept his eccentricity At least we are out tonight for a slap up meal.

Our container arrived on Saturday in the worst rain I have ever seen and the lorry got stuck in the mud in our drive and had to stay there for 24 hours before they could dig it out! The men had to carry all 180 boxes through the rain and mud to the house some 500 m away. It took a while. Since then its been like Christmas and your worst nightmare rolled into one At least I finally managed to do some baking today, I hope you are proud of me LG&T.

How is the back today?

cameroonmama · 29/04/2008 16:57

Oh, I forgot to ask, how did the consultant appt go LG&T?

TYG, yooooo hooooo, come on back, you must be over the jet lag by now...we need tales!

Lupins71 · 29/04/2008 17:37

LGT I have been reading some women can get it from mid 30's

CAM OMG at the container getting stuck, those poor men must have been cursing you having so much stuff, have a lovely meal tnite, strange pressies indeed lol

charleymouse · 29/04/2008 20:37

Hope you are all well.

Happy Birthday Cam.

Don't want to panic anyone but a relly of mine went through menopause in her 20s ended up having to have IVF to conceive, 'tis unusual though. A couple of ladies at work have been though it but are in their 50s. Think 37 is a wee bit early Lups.

G seen consultant today and doesn't have to go back for 6 months. Also now 17lbs not sure what this BF has got in it but it is good stuff.

Will have to update pics soon re G and new house, chosen wallpaper today and ordered a superking bed last week.

Creena · 30/04/2008 10:02

Happy birthday Cam! Hope your slap up meal is delicious!

Lupins - do you know at what age your mother went through the menopause? My GP told me that we often follow our mother's fertility pattern and will go through menopause at a similar age. If you don't mind me asking, have your cycles been ok or have you noticed any big changes in regularity, length or amount? Sorry if that's a bit nosey or TMI - it's just something else that my GP mentioned as indicators of being 'pre-menopausal'. I think asking your GP to check things out is a good thing. It might be worth asking him to check your thyroid as well.

LG&T - hope all goes well with consultant. Keeping fingers, eyes and legs crossed for you.

largeginandtonic · 30/04/2008 10:48

Cant hear ya Lups!

Cam hooray on thr stuff coming, and on the b day pressies. Still at least he remembered i suppose.

CM how lovely to hear from you, yes we do need pics of the lovely G and new house. What wallpaper did you choose?

Lups i sold my Loola for a pitiful £90 on ebay but managed to get a Buzz for £100, was that a bargaon? Tis the old style seat unit though, can you update seat unit covers on the buzz like you can on the Loola?

TYG, hellllllllllllllllllllloooooooooooooooooo?????!!!!!!

largeginandtonic · 30/04/2008 10:50

Consultant fine, she has no heart problems and her BP is normal. She will need audiology follow ups and chiropody too. Am so relieved. Have also started shouting at her again so must be coming to terms with the whole business I also asked the consultant about the egg freezing, she is going to find out about it for me. Fingers crossed.

ShowOfHands · 30/04/2008 10:53

I'm going to live on an uninhabited island and breed pigs. I refuse to raise dd in a society that allows the Daily HateMail and all who sail in her to continue spouting their unsubstantiated rubbish under the pretence that it's serious 'journalism'.

I am very cross today.

Morning all. Beautiful day isn't it?

largeginandtonic · 30/04/2008 11:18

Morning, i have been reading The Guardian this morning (Times yesterday) and have really enjoyed it. Trying to pick a newspaper that i can stick to. Send the children down the shop and stand there for 5 mins saying "get that one, no wait this one, no hang on..."

I want to be a magistrate and feel i need to engage brain again after so long.

largeginandtonic · 30/04/2008 11:19

BTW it is pissing it down here, Hugo and i have been puddle spotting

ShowOfHands · 30/04/2008 11:22

I would love to be a magistrate!

Don't get the same paper all the time. Variety and spice or something. I sometimes get the Grauniad, sometimes the Independent, sometimes the Times. Depends on the day/supplements/colour of the trees. I'm fickle though.

How's dd?

I'm still awaiting a reply on fb btw. I may rap your knuckles.

New Pentapeptides advert. Have you had the misfortune?

largeginandtonic · 30/04/2008 11:24

I know was bemoaning all about the blardy thing to dh yesterday. I think it may be a campaign to tip me over the edge.

I cant even look at the DM.

largeginandtonic · 30/04/2008 11:38

I have no FB message

Pinkjenny · 30/04/2008 12:22

Hi all

I am now officially back in the land of the living, although I still have a very sexy voice going on, I think due to the coughing and sore throat. Had to apologise to my boss for some seriously duff advice I gave on Thursday when I came in. Shouldn't have been here at all.

The girl whose mat leave I am covering has just been in with her 4 month old baby. She has said she is definitely coming back to work now. So need to work on dh tonight re having another baby. We need to get cracking now to ensure I get mat pay and leave from this job. He wants me to wait until I secure a perm role, but what if come Jan I haven't got one, then we'll have no job and no new baby, i.e. no maternity pay.

Lups - congrats on the sleeping thing! Am so proud and jealous. Email me at [email protected] and tell all. I need details.

LG & T - hi my sweet. [shocked] at you reading the Guardian. I knew you were posh. Great news about P.

Juicy - L is in this whole Separation Anxiety phase now. To the point where she won't let me put on my shoes without crawling all over me and trying to climb up me. She's cruising like a good'un now though .

Happy Belated Birthday Cam!

One thing I am a bit worried about - she seems to have developed scaredy cat tendencies lately. Is this normal? Or weird?

And why won't she clap?

Help as always, gratefully received.
