Hi Ladies, it said we needed a new thread

OP posts:

Reading, don't be so ridiculous. She's at the very least reciting epic poetry by heart and composing lyrical ballads before breakfast.

In all seriousness, she's the happiest, most joyful, easiest little baby. She eats anything, grins at everybody and is a spirited, gregarious and obviously beautiful baby. Her and J will make a right pair, sitting around eating, smiling and generally being wonderful. I've already got my beatific smile sorted for the wedding. I shall sit next to you and serenely witness the perfect union of two such gifted and wonderful children.

We shall ignore the hell-raising, distasteful wedding of Hugo and Lily next door.

TheProdigalShow · 18/04/2008 18:15

Lups, moving house is extremely unsettling for babies. He'll get back to it quickly I'm sure. He's 1 now isn't he? Bloody hell, I missed it. I'm sorry. Happy Belated Birthday Arlen!

FIL is building us a super king-sized bed!

TheProdigalShow · 18/04/2008 18:21

Are you revellers home yet?

Please tell me somebody weed in a pillbox? Oh the joys...!

largeginandtonic · 18/04/2008 18:21

They have all gone >

I met Scoot and Sky!!!! Ooooh eck it was fab. We all ate cake and drank tea while the lovely babies played. They were all so good. Sky's lovely big girls did a great job looking after the littlies. My prediction on the Sky bump is GIRL, let it be noted >

It was so nice to see everyone else too, the babies had grown loads!

I see the prodigal poster has returned, make it more often please. Also leave em to scream i say

LookattheLottie · 18/04/2008 18:22

SOH is back! Hello lovely, how's the straw hat doing? Have you got your pig yet?

Pink, I used to be more like SOH with the way I thought re: bedtime. I hated the idea of controlled crying and had a big rant on here, think I upset a few people with it without meaning too! However, my dd is a fly little thing and I had to get tough for the sake of my sanity. Because I'm a single mum I need to do everything myself for C, which I love. I don't love it at midnight when she is screaming at me to play though. I allowed her bad habits and it was exhausting with no time to myself. This then made my pnd so much worse, I had to get really tough. It broke my heart to do it, but it turned out that controlled crying was the only way I could do it.

She's now in a fantastic routine, I have all evening to myself, my pnd has cleared and I'm enjoying her so much more.

But you do what's right for you and your dd. I do completely get what SOH has said, but I could only excercise it for so long as I was so close to breaking! I think you need to have the patience to do it, which SOH seems to have. I didn't lol!

Cam how's the beautiful weather? Not jealous at all!

Went for a 4 mile walk with C earlier, I will get this weight shifted!

LookattheLottie · 18/04/2008 18:26

Oooo, LG&T did you get some pictures taken?

TheProdigalShow · 18/04/2008 18:34

LWatkins there isn't a woman on here who would criticise you. Like I stressed, you do what is best for you and your baby. I think you're a heroine, I honestly do and you've done tremendously.

So, come on, who weed in a pillbox. I need to know.

cameroonmama · 18/04/2008 19:26

ROFL at the thought of our two angels having a perfect wedding day, I think I like the sound of the wedding next door better.

Obviously there was no weeing in pillboxes, these women have class

Spill all, is Scoot really posh like what I thought? I bet she is totally groomed, with perfect hair and divine looking girls. And Sky must be totally chilled, she never gets annoyed at anything. Did April look as glamorous as ever? Did you get a peek at the new car? And MrsJB, too stylish for words I'm sure...

LW, fantastic news on Charlotte's walking, and Alana too for that matter. I am because I wanted J to be the first to walk, I know I know its not a competition but typical male, he just prefers to take the easy option and won't make the effort even though I know he can do it. (I am so not a pushy mother, even though dd is obviously light years ahead of all the other girls in her class )

As for the weather, not too bad thanks, sunny today, though with a little thunderstorm to round off the day. It actually got quite chilly last week, and I had to have a fire going. It went down to about oh 15 degerees at night. It's tough in the tropics.

Pinkjenny · 18/04/2008 19:38

Hi all

Just a quick post to say I think we are all wonderful mummies and I love the way we all support each other without any judgement.

Bootiful.

Now, my little pumpkin pie has gone to bed (as a token gesture and because she just loves to keep me guessing ) and I have opened the Chardonnay. Diet going great guns. At least, I don't think wine has any calories in it...

Lupins71 · 18/04/2008 20:03

PINK i think wine has about the same as my no calories pick & mix, my little man is asleep in his bed and will stay there!!!!!!!! well at least till 10 o clock tnite

LGT glad the meet up went well, go on we need to know what ev1 was really like - u cant leave us waiting much longer

CAM Arlen & J dont need to walk, they are sooo cute that all the girls will be taking all thier needs to them and flocking to them in droves

LW I lost loads of weight powerwalking with dd, great way to fat burn, glad your pnd is better now

SOH fab pics, that SOH band you love are playing round here sometime soon am sure i saw it in the paper, your welcome to bring your straw hat this way if you want to go, there are plenty of pigs cows sheep and lambs round here so you can decide which you would prefer to taked home

Pinkjenny · 18/04/2008 20:16

Lups - I think Arlen and Alexa are secretly in conflab with each other. At least I hope she stays in bed til 10!

Congrats to LW and Pebble with walking babies. I was s proud when L pulled herself up after the hip doodah. She's standing up and getting stronger and more steady all the time. (blub..) Back to Alder Hey for what will hopefully (please) only be her annual check up from now on. If hips have deteriorated she will need to have an op and go into a cast. Can't see it though, developmentally she seems to be on par with her little mates in nursery and at playgroup. And I won't start my catastrophic thinking, honest.

Did I tell you all I went to my first anxiety management group session? Stop me if I'm repeating myself... Seriously it was like AA. I'm Jenny and I'm an anxious a holic. It was only beneficial in respect of two other mums my age who were there who also worry a little too much . Back there on Monday. There was a bloke there who had been under psychiatric care for depression and was telling us all how lonely he is. Heartbreaking stuff.

Anyway, after that depressing tale, Lexie has spent the day at my mums, wearing a pair of pink ( SOH) leggings and her pj top inside out. My mum decided that the Baby Gap top that I sent her with this morning was 'too tight to go over her head'. More like L screaming because she desn't like getting dressed, methinks. But hey hum, whatever makes them happy on a Thursday and Friday.

Dh and I going to Piccolino's in Liverpool for an Italian and then for a drink. Where we will spend all evening talking about our little bubba boo.

Hopefully we'll get a shag in though . Sorry, was that TMI?

cameroonmama · 18/04/2008 20:25

What in the Italian?

Pinkjenny · 18/04/2008 20:27

You never know cam, it's been a while

scootermum · 18/04/2008 20:42

Snort at the groomed hair..but the girls of course look divine.(But they didnt when I was on the M25 by Heathrow for an hour at 5 O Clock..'ooh look Lily, there's an airplane..ooh look Lil there's ANOTHER airplane..'ad finitum! Both kids yelling for something to eat..had to pull over and feed them in the layby in the end, but hey ho, needs must!
Still they have both been very good today, Mummy was very proud and very pleased as it enabled me to eat plenty of Largegandt's beeeudiful cake..bloody hell that woman can cook!
Thankyou so much for having us!It was lovely to meet everyone (even though I only met M2G for all of about 5 mins before I had to go And all the kids were so gorgeous too!

Now its no good coming on here when half of us arent on SOH..You get back on here Missy..

Glad you went to your session Pink..well done you. With re the sleep..Lily goes to bed in her own bed, but 9 out of 10 nights ends up in with us-lots of people have said that im making a rod for my own back, I say its a batle not worth fighting.Few people get to 18 and kip with their parents eh?That said I did used to leave her to cry in the evenings, as I needed some time of an evening to get stuff done round the house and chill out a bit after work..and now she goes to bed pretty well, even if she doesnt always stay there. So each to their own I say..

at your 5 pounds lookatthelottie. And also at your 21st birthday.I remember my 21st >>looks way back into the mists of time

scootermum · 18/04/2008 20:44

Well if it works Pink let me know what you had I will have another baby..even if dh isnt quite on board with the plan yet..the trick will be to get him drunk, but not so drunk he cant do it...its a very fine line

largeginandtonic · 18/04/2008 20:44

God you will be pregnant next...

Everyone was lovely, Scoot is indeed very well turned out Fab hair (dunno what she moans for) and the girls were edible. Lily and Hugs even look like each other! I say a match made in heaven.

Poor Mum2G had a numpty husband episode and missed the bus back, so she came for seconds in the G&T household. Her dh picked her up in the end, poor thing had been frozen on the beach for the best part of an hour!

Hope you all made it back ok. Pics will be added soon.

Pink enjoy the wine my sweet, you deserve it, the shag too obviously

Cam at the Tropics... spoke to AM about the flights for me and Beau next year. Have had a scary thought though JABS >

Pinkjenny · 18/04/2008 20:48

LG & T I want to come and live stay with you. Where do you like again? Can I train it with L in tow?

Am so of the meet up. Always suspect Scoot is very well turned out - her profile pic is way too glam for my liking. And her hair is gorge on it. I'm sure she's exaggerating about her curly issues. I, on the other hand, am not.

Am trying to convince dh that we should have another baby now as my job is only until December. But I'm mad, no? He certainly thinks so .

Pinkjenny · 18/04/2008 20:49

Where do you LIVE not LIKE. Jesus woman, put the wine down!!!!

AprilMeadow · 18/04/2008 20:54

LG&T thank you so much for today. It was lovely to see everyone. Jack is still going on about the chickens and the dog rabbit!

Sky, i think you could put your dd's up for babysitting work! They were fab with all the little ones.

Scoot, your girls are gorgeous and yes very well turned out

M2G, oh no poor you! I drove past you (sorry i couldnt offer a lift) and thought you looked damp and cold. Hope you are all warmed up now.

MrsJB, it was great to see you all and thank you for my beautiful birthday present and also for Ella's. Jack was desperate to open the skittles and have a play before bed.

I was so lovely to see how all the babies had grown and as LG&T said, the next time we have a big meet they will all be running around and some of them will have a little brother or sister to sit on

Dh says thank you for the choc cake but did sulk that there wasnt a KK for him.. I explained that MrsJB was more in need of them.

I had a good journey home and stopped off in Basingstoke at Pizza Hut to feed the kids. Got home at 7.30.

Great to see you back on the thread SOH - please stay

Thanks again LG&T xx

largeginandtonic · 18/04/2008 20:55

Scoot my friend, poor you stuck on the M25! Nightmare. Hope you are suitably ensconsed in front of t' telly. The girls are gorgeous, i actually want a girl next >

cameroonmama · 18/04/2008 20:57

No no no, no jabs for here, well maybe just one or two teensy ones, in fact you can probably get away with none, only Beau need suffer

Now tell me LG&T, did you go curly or straight?

Scoot, your burning question is - did you have to pee in a pill box?

Now you've all come back see what happens, SOH runs off again....

Pink, I wonder if I take dh to an Italian I might get a shag too?

However I definitely don't want any more babies. Nor chickens, nor puppies, nor mice, nor unidentifiable beastie things.

I just want my stuff.

Pinkjenny · 18/04/2008 20:59

Cam - on a serious note. I'd love to go back to South Africa to revisit where I spent my childhood. Am so of you living somewhere so fab. Liverpool, as you know, is full of bloody scousers.

scootermum · 18/04/2008 20:59

No feck it, GET SOME MORE WINE DOWN!

I was up at 6 with M which gave me plenty of time for hair this morn..and even then it was a bit questionable at the back
But you are so right, I am very glam..especialy today once covered in M's lamb dinner and on my profile when I was 6 months preggo and the size of a house side I really should update that..

Perfect timing to have another now if you ask me..

Pinkjenny · 18/04/2008 21:01

No Scoot, I also have now somehow lost the ability to ghd the back of mine. Pre-Alexa my hair was always lovely straight or lovely frizzy curly. Now its just shite most days. When I have time to wash it.

I really want another. What is wrong with me.

cameroonmama · 18/04/2008 21:02

Pink, any Scouser is welcome here in East Africa, its only a little bit different to SA. But you can only come if you wear your shellsuit and Lexie has a matching one.
