OMG Ellie - thats gotta hurt! ow

Octothechildherder · 19/03/2008 11:34

Pillock Now if you had followed Claire Verity's strict instructions on how to care for your child, he would have never been in your bed int he first place tut tut

I am waiting for one of my boys to break something - must happen sooner or later

Octothechildherder · 19/03/2008 11:43

No post from GMM since my mars bar post

I went to get ernie's feet measured and he was a 2 1/2 H So opted not to get cruisers and bought some little bobux leather/furry booties Very cute!

CaptainDippy · 19/03/2008 11:49

ouch ellie

sol - was up with J and he had medised and milk and I was waiting for him to drop off in travel cot in our room and dh had just got in from work - so thats why I was up

Nursery was hell - ds1 has been at nursery over 3 years (since he was 14 mths) I know all the staff so what is the problem?

Erin hated it and screamed and Jack was happy/unhappy. I stayed in the reception area so I could hear them but the couldn't see me I never had this with ds1 I really feel for those of you who are leaving your pfb's in unknown to you nurseries - that must be worse.

They know how to make you feel guilty

cazboldy · 19/03/2008 13:16

oh dear Oooggs - sorry you had such a hard time. don't really know what to suggest..... I am the worst (i.e the softest) mummy in the world when it comes to leaving them - hence me being a sahm and never going out

Pesha · 19/03/2008 13:22

Hello. I'm poorly Have had fever since sat am, think it might be proper flu as opposed to just a bad cold. Seeing dr later as fever just not going and everything aches.

Gotta go

oooggs · 19/03/2008 13:26

oh pesha - sorry you feel poorly - hope you managed to stave it off until the holiday cottage break was over

cheers caz

Sexonlegs · 19/03/2008 13:28

Afternoon all.

Ellie, you poor thing. Hope you are feeling ok. No exprience of a broken nose here - sounds painful.

Pesha, hope you feel better soon. How was your holiday?

Luce and Pinions good to see you both.

Oooggs, thought you must be up for reason other than just Mumsnet!

SPB, your crown is in the post

Forgotten everything else.

Am knackered. B was coughing at 3.00 and whilst it didn't seem to bother her, I woke up and gave her some medised, but then I couldn't get back to sleep. K didn't wake at all.

Went to B's Easter assembly this morning and it was lovely. She looked rough though - really pale. They had songs to sing and then paraded around in their Easter Bonnets. After school is the Easter Egg Hunt! Cue stroppy child cos she can't find any!!!!

StealthPolarBear · 19/03/2008 13:32

Hi everyone
Pesha, hope you're feeling better soon. Does sound as though you have woman flu (which is the opposite of man flu)
POTC at your baby's destructive powers. Hope your nose heals quickly
oooggs to nursery. When are you trying again.
Thanks for the crown SOL, it's a bit brown and sticky mind, do you know anything about that?!

oooggs · 19/03/2008 13:43

they start on 2nd April so probably next wed & thur - can't face it tomorrow

Maveta · 19/03/2008 13:47

afternoon! just popping in to say hi.. ellie that sounds really sore, your poor nozzle!

oh oooggs re. the nursery. I am so so glad I am not the one who has to do the settling in with N at nursery, that'll be dh and my mum that do it... phew! Think I would find it really hard (who wouldn't?).

Last night was a bit rough Bramshott, but he has two molars coming through so I am cutting him some slack poor thing. They've been coming up and then calming down and then coming up etc for over a week now.. does anyone know how long they usually take??

got to get back to work, catch you all later

mammyjo · 19/03/2008 13:57

Oh pesha, hope you feel much better soon xxx

Oooggs, Ds was absolute hell when he first went to nursery. He screamed every time I dropped him off, did the same when he went to playgroup, and the same again when he started nursery in school. He was a nightmare, but is fab now. I know that is not a lot of comfort, but what I am trying to say is that I know how hard it is to leave them like that. The thing you have to try and remember is that they will quickly settle after you leave them (ds did after his first few sessions), so it does get slightly less guilt making!

Runny, I got ds to make a mug for dh last year. We went to that pottery place in Porthcawl and he painted it himself. I might do something similar this year (but maybe for father's day) with handprints of the two of them or something like that!

SOL, hope K is ok today

CD, glad the first day went well. I wish I lived closer so that I could come and have a nose!

mammyjo · 19/03/2008 14:02

Sorry, xposted a lot then. Maveta, tbh the teeth vary. F's seem to have come through within a couple of days, but I remember with ds thinking it was never going to break through. Kind of a how long is a piece of string type thing I think! Sorry, totally unhelpful

Ellie, how is the nose? Sounds awful, hope you are ok

SOL, glad the concert was good. Shame about the egg hunt afterwards!!

NorthernLurker · 19/03/2008 14:46

sorry haben't had time to read through the thread. Just had a piece of news which has totally discombobulated me. I've found out who got the job I didn't get. It's my replacement whilst I was on maternity leave, someone who I recruited, trained and supervised for 3 years. This is not a Good Thing. I don't know what to do.

Bramshott · 19/03/2008 14:50

Oh bloody hell NL

StealthPolarBear · 19/03/2008 14:50

oh &*%^$ NL
What are the options?

NorthernLurker · 19/03/2008 14:55

errrm - cry lots - got that one ok - then go back till I get something else. I don't think I can stay medium or long term. This person has an approach which I know I will find difficult to work too - as he will be my line manager

StealthPolarBear · 19/03/2008 14:56

he's going to your LM>?? very awkward.
so sorry, don't blame you for wanting to go.
what area do you work in?

StealthPolarBear · 19/03/2008 14:57

going to be your LM, sorry

NorthernLurker · 19/03/2008 15:01

yes it will be very hard. It's admin. Patient appt/outpatient stuff. There's nothing else to apply for right now though.Got to go do school run - back later

mammyjo · 19/03/2008 15:37

What a nightmare NL Hope you find something else soon. I know how it feels to not want to go to work (different circumstances obviously). I am working tomorrow and really don't want to go as my boss is driving me insane. I am actively looking for something else just now. I have worked there for 12 years, but I feel that all the hours I have put in count for nothing. Am guessing you are somewhere along those lines too. > to you xxx

NorthernLurker · 19/03/2008 16:08

that sums it up very well mammyjo. I just can't believe this. 3 months ago I was happy about going back to work, confident in my skills and in my future. Now - I feel absolutely lost and let down. I didn't mind not getting the blasted job myself but this - this is another matter altogether!

cazboldy · 19/03/2008 16:26

so sorry NL

surely the bastards realised they would be putting you in an awkward situation?

excuse my turn of phrase.

please don't cry
