the TV remote is in the freezer, your car keys are down the loo, and there are little smears of food at knee height down each corridor!

Chloe - you are not as jealous of my night out as I am of the fact that you can still get ds down at 6!

Well we managed to embarrass ourselves suitably. We couldn't find the invite, so guessed that it was likely to start at 8, and rolled up there at 8:45, only to find that it started at 6:45 and there was a sit down 3 course meal . We had missed the starter but they brought ours out and I just had time to eat it before the second course arrived. We had eaten before we went, so had to balance not being rude by eating nothing with the fact that we were stuffed already!

Anyway, the live band were (and still are, as I can hear them from my bedroom now!) extremmely good, the marquee was huge...in fact, it was rather more like a grand wedding reception than any 21st I've ever been to before.

Such a shame that I couldn't drink at all - they even had bottles of port on the table at the end, which I love.

Oh dear! Did pg hungriness not help a little?

OP posts:
CantSleepWontSleep · 13/04/2008 00:58

No! Pg hungriness only extends to crisps .

Phoenix · 13/04/2008 01:14

Ds was so good at the party, all the family commented on how good (and cute ) he was. I took his pj's with me and put him in them before we left, he fell asleep in the car (midnight-ish) and i got him out of the car and into his cot still asleep. Any guesses on what time he'll be up? I really enjoyed myself and so did ds

The firemen are coming around 11.30 (unless they get an emergency) in the morning to do our home safety check

I need my bed now!!

CSWS your night out sounds lovely, apart from having to stuff that extra food in!

Phoenix, glad you had a good time too!

EachPeachPearMum · 13/04/2008 15:31

Wow- I wasn't the last one up for a change!
I took dd to sea life centre again today with MIL. We had a fabulous time, and she is napping it off now.

Thanks Frizbe

You're offline now, but this might help with your msn message here

CantSleepWontSleep · 13/04/2008 19:46

Hmmmm, I had the same msn message, but sent her a different answer from that. Am I still using an old one? When did you last move?

Flamesparrow · 13/04/2008 19:48

I have no idea what address you have... I have been here since I have met you!

CantSleepWontSleep · 13/04/2008 20:49

Tis ok - it is the same address - my version just has an extra line in.

Frizbe · 13/04/2008 21:52

lol at that I was sure I waded thru your site and couldn;t find an address, it didn't come up when I clicked the side contact bit! Anyway you're now nominated! and thanks to you both for the address again, I will get it saved on the work computer so I don't have to beg again!!

CantSleepWontSleep · 14/04/2008 08:31

Can I ask what the situation is re teeth for everyone at the moment? Have people got their back molars yet? Dd hasn't, but nappies over the last 3 days have been rather like her old teething ones, so wondering if one is on its way. Hoping it's that and not a tummy bug, as she's not supposed to go to school with upset tummy, and she starts this afternoon! Only going usual number of times though, and I guess with an upset tummy she'd go more often?

Phoenix · 14/04/2008 08:35

Good luck to Pippa for school today

Don't think ds has back molars yet but he doesn't let me look in his mouth very often.

I've got all this week off work

Flamesparrow · 14/04/2008 09:59

Yup, most likely teeth. Good luck Pippa
DS is very behind with teeth all the time anyway, so dunno when his molars will bother to put in an appearance.

DD failed her hearing test with the school nurse this morning I went to the appointment too so I could be there for the hearing bit because I have been wondering if there was a problem which has caused the speech delay. She said that she would do the full test rather than the more basic one they can do, and she failed on one ear. One level of fail the nurse retests a bit later, but she is the next stage up so if being referred to audiology

EachPeachPearMum · 14/04/2008 12:59

Flame- I know it's upsetting, but in some ways this is good news- it means there are valid reasons for her ignoring not hearing you at times!

csws- hope dd enjoys her big day!
My dd has been 'struggling' with her back molars for a while now- they're still not through though.

OP posts:
DontDreamItBeIt · 14/04/2008 16:52

No sign of back molars....he has only just got canines through though.

Flame - Don't be It might be something easly sorted. My friends dd was discovered to be almost deaf in both ears due to glue ear at 6, and had surgery to sort it out. She is fine now, but my friend felt awful....not helped by the fact that she is a practice nurse

Chloe55 · 14/04/2008 18:17

Not sure about the molars, I think they are through as he does seem to have a mouthful of teeth when we brush them.

Flame - for dd, hope it isn't a permanent thing.

CSWS - 6pm isn't actually ds's 'normal' bedtime now (although he is in bed again now!) he does tend to go more like 7pm - you're still gonna tell me I'm a lucky cow aren't you?

I think I have the most stubborn child in the world (bo idea where he gets that from ) - does anybody elses child point blank refuse to do anything you ask them to with arms folded as they look you up and down like you are dog poo on their shoe?? He really is quite trying at the mo!

hotmama · 14/04/2008 18:45

Hi girls, how are you all.

Can't do emoticons as dd1 has split coffee on the keyboard.

Anyway just dropping in to let you know that I am expecting dc3 - too early to make an announcement in real life - but am bursting with excitement and nerves as I am now 41!

You were such fab pregnancy mates when having dd2.

Hope you are doing well and hopefully will be posting and catching up soon.

Hotmama!

Flamesparrow · 14/04/2008 19:23

CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

DontDreamItBeIt · 14/04/2008 20:00

Congratulations

hotmama · 14/04/2008 20:07

Thanks girls.

I cracked bf with dd2 - thinking of doing cloth nappies with dc3 - so may need some advice from Flame.

Don't want to get ahead of myself - hoping everything will be O.K. - but I am old!

DontDreamItBeIt · 14/04/2008 20:14

41 isn't old.....I'm sure you'll be fine. How far on are you?

CantSleepWontSleep · 14/04/2008 20:44

Congratulations hotmama, and lovely to see you! How far are you? Did you know that I am too (16 weeks), and damewashalot (helen38) is quite far too.

and for dd's hearing flame. because it might be easily fixed and could explain a lot of the stuff that you were concerned about.

Chloe - complete this anagram... yuckl owc .

Well school seemed to go well. She wasn't at all bothered about being left, and I picked her up at 3:30 (instead of the later possible collection time of 3:55) to make sure she wasn't upset by seeing other children picked up, but she clearly wasn't at all bothered, and would have happily stayed longer (though was knackered and slept for ages after I got her). Will pick her up later on Wedns I think.

She did painting, and playing with water (resulting in a change of outfit!) and playing with sand, and from the looks of her clothes, she must have also played outside. Teacher said she was 'into everything'. That's my girl!

Frizbe · 14/04/2008 22:39

Congrats Hotmama, great to 'see' you again

at dd CSWS, glad she had a good 1st day.

{{{{Hugs}}}} for dd Flame, but hopefully its nothing much and easily fixable . You've reminded me of my friend at school who was partially deaf in one ear, I recently heard that she's an audiologist at Sheffield

Re the teeth we have large lumps, which result in intermittant crying, but they're still too far back and need to move forward before we'll see a surfacing I think. DD2 has been late with all her teeth though, so I think these will be the same. (late in comparision to dd1) dd2 has apparently taken herself to the toilet at nursery again once today, I hope she carries on doing this

I in the meantime took ss to school, then carried onto York, where I met my friend, gave her some stock from our shop in exchange for the readies, then we both went Latte drinking and window shopping lovely day. Brought dd2 a sleeping bag, so she can camp this year, her 1st year in a big bag on an airbed (oh can you wait for the tales of me being unable to sleep )
