the TV remote is in the freezer, your car keys are down the loo, and there are little smears of food at knee height down each corridor!

I have light
But dp has just told me he has told dd1 he will buy her an xbox 360 Not for her birthday (in 2 months time), just because she wants it

I will be hiding all his money....there is no way he will be buying it unless it is a birthday present

Have I mentioned I'm ?

Even if we could afford it (and after the fuss he made over me spending money on getting my teeth done this week I have my doubts) does he really think dd2 won't notice????

mustrunmore · 05/04/2008 08:24

Jesus. Will he buy me something if I just want it?

Phoenix, I'll happily run with you too

Er, is he the one that falls alot? From my point of view, he's very stable compared to how ds1 was!

Pilot light fixed. We have a thing under the boiler that could only be turned using tools. But ds2 managed it .

Off to Legoland today got a huge buttie box done. So the only problem I can foresee is that our friend always lets her son empty his monybox and spend it on any crap he wants, but I wont let ds1 do that. His goes in the bank. If I hadnt done that as a child, I wouldnt have had savings to use as an adult. Or is that just mean? I just reallt cant see the popint in buying for the skae of it. Esp as said child just wants to go to a shop as soon as we get anywhere, and he focus is spending his money, not seeing the actual place visited. If there's a really special souvenier froma dpecial day, I'll give him a bit of money, but not to assume hr will get something everythime. And not for plastic tat.

DontDreamItBeIt · 05/04/2008 08:51

I don't think he falls alot....ds seems less stable to me tbh.

I think dp has accepted my argument, and dd1 may be getting it as a birthday present, but not just as a random gift. He just doesn't think.

I love going out with my friends....none of us give our dc money to spend, nor do we pay out for those stupid machines at £1 a go, or naff rides. None of them ask, as they all know they won't get

Having said that, I did let dd1 take money to PWP for the arcade this week, hoping that she would learn what a waste it is to spend her money in a machine which gives out a 5p sweet, for a 30p game, particularly as she doesn't even like the sweets.

DontDreamItBeIt · 05/04/2008 08:52

Have fun at Legoland

CantSleepWontSleep · 05/04/2008 09:46

Even we wouldn't buy an xbox as a 'nothing' present. (Ok, so I know we bought the playhouse, but that was a bit different, and very much a one off).

Have fun at Legoland. Not sure what we're up to yet, but dd has requested the farm (we've been once this week already), so if the weather holds off then we'll prob go there this afternoon.

Pic of dd climbing added to my profile from yesterday afternoon. Should add that she chose the odd clothing combination! Just love her new crocs wellies though .

Flame · 05/04/2008 11:45

Lol he fell a lot at CSWS's which is the only place she remembers him from

@ the 360

Frizbe · 05/04/2008 12:56

at the 360 here too, glad he's seen sense.

at the crocs wellies, dd1 would love those.

Phoenix, quite right too

MRM you must have needed the sleep then.

Dr Who again tonight ladies

Frizbe · 05/04/2008 12:58

MRM enjoy Legoland, keep getting called away by customers when I'm trying to mumsnet, dammit!! the girls voted for Dh to stay with them today (good, as he's away all next weekend, so they won't see him then) So I'm at work all day, which I don't mind, as he doesn't get to spend as much time with them as he could do with.

Flame · 05/04/2008 17:49

In less than 48 hours I will be suppin tea (or I will be and she will be suppin hot water) with MRM

Flame · 05/04/2008 18:11

Ooh and adding to the already thrilling plans of "spring cleaning" we have veg shopping (if you have arrived before I get there, or I may wait for you so you can help me work out food), the bank, and... wait for it, this one is truly thrilling.... finding the bedroom floor for the kids to sleep (I may have done that tomorrow, but I know you would love to go through toys and clear!

Phoenix · 05/04/2008 18:54

MRM - Hope you enjoy Legoland

for light Jas but with dp for you re x-box.

csws - I need some croc wellies for ds i love them . My ds wouldn't be able to climb that frame that she's on in the photo though, like i said he won't climb. Love her outfit though

Flame - for mrm visiting

So I went out of our front door this morning and some thieving bastard has nicked our bench in the night (we did want to get rid of it but that isn't the point.) Not long back someone nicked ds' little tykes plastic rocker/see-saw thing. We've got a trampoline and a slide that are meant to be going in the front garden for the summer i think we'll have to get a chain for them to lock them to the fence so they'll stay put.

Phoenix · 05/04/2008 19:40

A neighbour 4 doors down has just knocked on our door and said 'are you missing a garden bench?' It seems some idiots put it on his car roof in the early hours . So it hasn't been nicked and we'll get it back tomorrow. He's said can we bolt it down or something cos he has a feeling it will happen again but we'll def get rid of it now i think.

DontDreamItBeIt · 05/04/2008 20:14

Just looked at your pic, csws. I see you've spoiled her fun by getting the platform then Lovely outfit.
I don't think ds even tried to climb that frame when we were there.

DP hasn't bought the xbox....but I'm still not talking to him as he is winding me up by breathing at the moment.

I got new glasses today (Bought online to save £200 or so) and I hate them. He laughed at me as soon as he saw them. I will never wear them so instead of saving money I've wased £20. I'll have to buy proper ones, but dp has (finally) mended my old ones again. They are more glue than glasses now and won't las long I don't think.

Was Legoland fun mrm?

at your bench Phoenix......we have to chain up everything here, too.

mustrunmore · 05/04/2008 20:49

Lol at the bench! Sorry, but it is funny!!

Flame, it sounds perfect to me I am nosey and love sorting! Sorry all my texts were gobbldigook today; was texting betwenn and even on rides! What I was trying to convey is that I am plannig to spend most of the time with you but a bit with my friend, sleeping with you. She's finding a hotel tonight/tomorrow . V slim chance of coming back after tea on Tues, but prob Wed morn. I'm sorry I'm vague We are setting out 9am to get to you though, that much has been established. I'm guessing that we should do the beach with her rather than you? Or do you want a blue baby again?

BTW, do you want a copy of The Impressonist, or have you read it?

Legoland was brilliant!!!! Went on stuff we didint do the last few times, so easy with only one ds to deal with, and muh better quality time for him. One ride that loooked like a baby thing, but was scary, and ds1's friend bawled his eyes out DS1 loved it! Goit soakimg on a couple of rides.. superb! And it hailed at one ppoint!
got 10% off the cafe, but forgot to ask in the gift shop ... only spent a fiver though, so not the end of the world except on principle.

EPPM..... I got a dvd in the post today. REmember ages ago , when I was on the search for disturbing things, you suggested Boy Meets Girl? Got a doodgy copy for £3. Watching it tonight if ds1 goes to bed!

Flame · 05/04/2008 20:56

I have to admit to sniggering a bit too with the bench

Yay for legoland being great I hate rides, always had. We had the bright idea of going in this balloon thing at Flambards that looked fine, but it went a lot faster than we expected. I was sobbing in the bottom of the balloon "basket" thingy. We were the only ones on it and the bastard just laughed at mum screaming for him to stop it for me

Probably a good idea for the beach without my blue boy. Took him to the park today, it was really nice weather when we left, but when we got there it had turned very definitely winter... he was dressed for late spring Poor little dude was actually shaking

Yes please to Impressionist

mustrunmore · 05/04/2008 21:15

Ok, so you get a book and a cd! Kids get nothing
I'm going to sort out paying outr way re food too, as 3 is alot of extra mouths to feed. Not that ds1 eats
Can I play it by ear as to when we do beach then? Might be as soon as arrive, or might be next day, in which case I'll get abandoned by her as soon as we get there on the Mon!! If I was coming independantly, I'd be more organised, trust me!

Ds1 really wants to sleep with dd but am thinking of putting ds2 in with me, given that he'll wake up and cry anyway and want to be in bed with me from 3am Am thinking of being bad mother and letting him stay up till he drops, tpo make life easy He will then sleep even if we are in there chattering and blaring out the telly (assuming I'm in the front room?) Or you are teaching me to poledance Bedtime for ds1 needs to be staggered too, as if I put him in with your kids awake, he'll never settle down! So he'll have to go beofer or after, unless you really do want them to just run riot and ignore it!!!

CantSleepWontSleep · 05/04/2008 21:19

Did the bench damage his car Phoenix? At least one benefit of living where we do is that we don't get passing opportunists nicking stuff/playing pranks.

for not liking your new glasses Jas. I have to try on so many pairs that I know I could never buy any online. Now have image of you looking like Jack Duckworth .

Glad legoland was so good mrm. Did you not take ds2 then? Is it not a good destination for his age?

Well we did go to the farm, but typically it waited until we were there to rain! Not too heavily though, so it didn't hamper us much.

Unfortunately I now have a streaming cold and feel like absolute shit. Will be having an early night and hoping against hope that I feel brighter by tomorrow.

mustrunmore · 05/04/2008 21:30

Its a crap place for a 2yr old, unless you are only taking a 2yr old, and you avoid all the bits that they will want to go on but cant! I would take ds2 alone, but only because its free, as there's so much he wouldnt utilise. The wet duplo play area is great for him, as is the model city bit... he'd like looking... and several small rides (cars and boats etc), but he prob wouldnt survive the queueing over and over. Most rides are a minimum of 1 metre to get on.

Phoenix · 05/04/2008 21:34

It scratched his car he says but i haven't seen it yet. Dh will have a nose when he gets in from work in the morning.

for glasses Jas

mustrunmore · 05/04/2008 21:35

I wanna see a photo of Jas in the glasses

EachPeachPearMum · 05/04/2008 21:40

for bench phoenix.
for 360! Its ok for me to buy something like that for us as a present but to just give it to a child because they'd asked??
Children do need to learn that we have to work to earn things- even if the sums involved don't mean much yet. (try telling a kid you earn say 9k a year- they won't believe you if you say you can't afford fripperies! It seems like such an enormous sum)

We went to the Lickey Hills today to look for the Big Bad Mouse

Csws- was the photo today or yesterday?
Cant believe the bare legs? yesterday was 17 degrees here () but today was 5.

MRM- euurrgghhh. Please don't watch it!

OP posts:
EachPeachPearMum · 05/04/2008 21:42

What was so badf about the spectacles Jas?

OP posts:
EachPeachPearMum · 05/04/2008 21:43

Of course, that should be bad

DontDreamItBeIt · 05/04/2008 22:20

I don't think she even asked for it, EPPM....I think DP wants it, but he told dd he was getting it for her.

Glasses are the wrong shape, and colour and they don't fit. I may get my friend o take a pic next week, as she will gve an honest, but ot offensive opinion.
