Hi everyone

Glad LO is getting better and no more major vomming incidents Andiem.

Am of your night out Fairy, but glad you had a good time.

Bumper, hope you are having/have had a lovely day.

We've been to an NCT 2nd hand sale this morning. DH and DD sat and had coffee while I looked round and got 3 tops and a lovely party dress in 12-18m plus 1 dress in 9-12m sizes, 5 toys, a push along walker thing (primarily for the garden as we don't have so much room indoors) and a plastic bib (which I'm not sure about, but feel we ought to have one). All for just under £20.

Bugger, I was going to take Baby Sputnik to the docs yesterday, then didn't, as he seemed on the mend. Now he's worse again and it's the weekend.

ROFL at your name change Ria.

milkyJammy · 01/03/2008 13:56

Always a bummer when that happens Sputnik. Sorry.

Izzybel · 01/03/2008 17:26

Hi everyone! Hope you and the little ones are all well . Feels like I haven't been on for ages. Haven't caught up properly just skimmed through and just managed to catch one thing...
Daisy - HUGE congratulations!!! That's so exciting! Wishing you an uneventful and healthy pregnancy, with no morning sickness!
Been manic around here recently. My mum has been in hospital, she has had to have a blood transfusion as her hb was very very low. She's having to have tests as they are not sure where the blood is going to. Me and my sister are pretty worried for her.
On a more positve note, I have started my course for child minding yesterday. I really enjoyed it, a bit scared about ofsted coming to inspect the house though, but I haven't applied to register yet so it might be a while.
HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY for tomorrow to all you yummy June mummies. Hope you all get breakfast in bed and pampered all day off your DH/Ps and DCs.
DP is on a course tomorrow but he has said that he will take me out for dinner when he gets home bless him! He paid for me to have my hair cut too, so I had it cut last weekend. It was waist length and now it is in a chin length bob I think that's the bravest thing I've ever done!

foxythesnowman · 01/03/2008 17:42

Hi Izzy - so sorry to hear about your mum, I hope she is OK.

And well done on your bravery!! That is a mahooosive transformation - do you feel like a new woman?!

Good to hear the course is going well. You've been busy!

I am in a sulk as everyone else is going to Ikea on Tuesday and I can't go.

And I neeeeeeeed to go.

milkyJammy · 01/03/2008 17:53

Hi Izzy. Hope things turn around for your Mum and they sort things out so she gets better very soon. And wow that sounds like a dramatic haircut! What happened to all the hair? There must have been loads? What does your Dp think?

Andie, hope LO continues to improve.

Foxy, so did you ask any pertinent questions in the end last night?

OP posts:
andienovicehabitlifter · 01/03/2008 18:47

foxythesnowman · 01/03/2008 18:56

No, I didn't!

Mainly because I couldn't fathom how I'd explain all these women who he had never heard of drinking and dancing drunkenly arm in arm telling each other how great they are and how they love them and that they are their bessie mates!

You'd all be invited of course!

HollyPutTheHabitOn · 01/03/2008 19:05

ROFPMSL foxy! I can just picture it now!!

Hope you can find a way to come to ikea. I expect we'll be there for about midday if you can come.

Hi izzy! Hope you are well and hope your mum is ok. Well done on the haircut. Mine is almost waist length atm, I seriously need a chop!

My ds isn't well either sputnik. He has just come over all feverish. He is burning up, poor little boy. Hope yours gets better soon.

Well...as for mothers' day, that's all gone tits up! Dp is playing golf at 9.30 in the morning, so no breakfast in bed or a break from the kids for me. Fucking arsehole. AAARRRGGHHH...he has just fallen asleep on the sofa! I've just cooked a roast and was hoping he'd wash up. I guess that's not going to happen!

Every day is fucking fathers' day!

foxythesnowman · 01/03/2008 19:12

Tis, true what you say Holly.

Tues also Reception school trip so less mums around than usual, so wont be able to get DD pickedup

I have had incoherent call from DP. He is v vv v vvvvvv drunk.

nunobal · 01/03/2008 19:32

Arse Holly!

LOL Foxy (re drunken phone call) - do you think he's drowning his sorrows?

PMSL I would fly back you know!!

foxythesnowman · 01/03/2008 19:37

LOLOLOL! I'd expect you too! In fact, there'd be quite a hefty Aussie contingent you know.

God, it'd be a right knees up.

Bugger, am almost regretting it now!

How's your day been Annobal?

nunobal · 01/03/2008 20:04

I'm there!

Had a lovely but sad day as 3 friends came over for lunch to say goodbye and we had to cancel dinner tonight as our babysitter cancelled at the last minute (actually not such a bad thing as we're both a bit down about saying goodbye).

How's yours without DP (as if I need to ask - you will be cruising, hopefully with a chilled pinot grigio by now)

foxythesnowman · 01/03/2008 20:09

Oh how sad! See? You with your plans to relocated. Pah!

We've had a good day, footy, some time in the garden, the watched a movie with popcorn. Its been really nice.

Better go and put the buggers to bed!

LardyMardyDaisyBoo · 01/03/2008 20:19

evening.

I can't keep up with the chat at the oment; I've scrolled through but can't find any reference to some of the things you are talking about

I'm bloody knackered. We got our delivery of garden stuff at 7:30 this morning, and it's been busy busy busy all day. WE now have the most fabulous raised veg bed (5m x 1m x 0.5m deep) in which to grow lots of lovely veg and salad. It's full of lovely topsoil mixed with a whole compost bin of home made compost and is ready for planting.

Is this middle age? I'm getting really excited about growing more veg.

I wasn't actually digging or anything; my role was more supervisory, and keepoing a constant stream of hot tea on the go as well as bacon arnies and cooking a mahoosive pork joint for tea, whilst supervising four children (aha, three will be a walk in the park) and finally clearing the floor in our office room.

Sorry about all the poorly DCs and twunty DHs. Holly, I'm at your DP playing golf tomorrow. It's one farking day, you'd think they could make the effort. Dh has just gone to the shop now to get his mum a card and a bunch of flowers . Why do they leave it so late (and of course if it isn't up to scratch, I'll be the one who gets the blame)

Thanks izzy . Sorry to hear about your mum . I hope they get to the bottom of it soon, it must be very worrying not knowing.

Your haircut sounds v v radical. Just remeber you'll only need a tiny blob of shampoo. When I had mine all lobbed off, I kept pouring out way too much for ages.

foxythesnowman · 01/03/2008 20:33

but gardening is exciting! I think its just so gratifying. Its something that you can really see instant results with AND have something to nuture and grow (with the benefit of not answering back or require feeding 5 times a day!)

milkyJammy · 01/03/2008 20:38

Evening all. Daisy, your veg bed sounds fab. I am very . Our raised bed is devoted to strawberries now, and we plan on growing some veg in assorted containers (the jamlet bought DH the Edible Container Gardening book for his birthday). We've done this previous years with some sucess but hope to do a bit more this year.

My mother's day seems to have fallen by the wayside a bit too. We have some diy jobs to be done and DH is so keyed up after fixing the car rear windscreen wiper today that he said he should continue while he was "on a roll". So the afternoon out I'd been promised, with a present to be bought from the jamlet, and tea and cakes out has been abandonned. I ought to be (and am) pleased that the jobs are getting done, but I am disappointed. Not about the present, but I had been looking forward to afternoon tea out. DH did make a brioche loaf in the breadmaker this afternoon (and has gone on at length ever since about how is has 100g of butter and 3 eggs in it!) and says he will get up in decent time to make me toasted brioche and jam and a mug of tea at least. Better had do! I got up early with jamlet this morning, even though it was technically his (one day a week) day to do it.

SisterSputnik · 01/03/2008 20:47

Evening all. Finally got Baby Sputnik off to sleep in his pushchair, as he kept waking lying down
I managed to speak to the doc though and she told me to give him an anti-inflamatory, which, luckily, I had. That is 1 thing I DO like about living here, they assign all babies and children a paediatrician, they give you their mobile numbers and don't mind (too much) if you call them out of hours.

Hope all the other sick LOs are ok too.

SisterSputnik · 01/03/2008 20:49

God it's like Dixon of Dock Green on here .
Or am I the only one old enough to remember that?
Evenin all

LardyMardyDaisyBoo · 01/03/2008 20:50

lol foxy.

I had a little glimpse of your world today, and boy was I getting a lot of answering back. Our friends DD (three and a bit) was being a right little madam. Four times I had to haul her out of the bathroom after she had been guddling in the sink. One of the times she'd had the water running for ages and it was all over the floor. We're on a water meter here as well so I was really cross. And she refuses to answer you and ignores you, and then when you get cross throws herself on the floor and screams. If DD ends up like that I think I'll leave home. She was driving me bonkers. She tried to make off with some tat from DHs room as well, and wouldn't hand it over. Her dad had to prise it out of her fingers. She also kept on chasing the cat ("I'm not chasing her, I'm following her quickly") inspite of being told repeatedly not to do it. She also refuses to go to the toilet a lot and goes and hides behind sofas to poo in her pants.

Compared to her, DS is an angel

LardyMardyDaisyBoo · 01/03/2008 20:52

glad he's better sputnik. When DDs ears were bad she screamed if she was laid on her back.

I remember Dixon of Dock Green as well, and Z Cars. There was one episode of that about dogs with rabies and it has stuck with me forever; I was terrified.

foxythesnowman · 01/03/2008 20:52

she sounds delightful!

SisterSputnik · 01/03/2008 20:53

I've just realised my DD is actually a little angel

foxythesnowman · 01/03/2008 20:54

LOL!

Right, I'm buggering off to watch the Masterchef final, drink a glass of wine and eat my Gu Lava tart with Ben and Jerry's Icecream

Hey, it might not be everyone's idea of a good time, but it makes me happy!

Nite!
