Holly that bites.

HellHathNoFury · 28/02/2008 14:57

please someone talk to meeeee
I'm lonelyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 28/02/2008 15:09

I'm here my lovely!

I am about to throw my ds out of the window though! He is driving me fucking mad! He won't sit on the floor, only on my lap, but everytime I pick him up he pulls my hair, scratches my face and tries to gouge my eyes out!

Grrr...I'm not having a good day!

How are you?

HellHathNoFury · 28/02/2008 15:14

I am ok. So tired though I am making a mess of work so I am just not bothering. Have done the shopping online in my lunch break so that's a load off... now I am looking at childcare costs in Australia.
I seem to have itchy feet! We want to move overseas...just trying to figure out where!

I love the UK and all but it's getting a bit cramped for my liking.

Your DS sounds like mine...fiesty. There is nothing calm about him, and he is so so strong, I never thought a baby could be so strong. He lifted the yellow pages!!

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 28/02/2008 15:23

I know! All the other babies at toddler group were just sort of lying there. Ds was crawling around everywhere, standing up at the playdoh table and eating the playdoh, pulling the newspaper off the painting table, terrorising the toddlers playing with the kitchen and generally being a pest! He also likes to crawl over the girl babies and pull their hair!

Oh fuck he has pulled one of the tv speakers over!

Oh well!

Sorry you are so tired. You need a few days off methinks, you are always so busy, just reading your posts makes me feel tired!

I don't blame you for wanting to move elsewhere. It is quite depressing here sometimes!

HellHathNoFury · 28/02/2008 15:31

Can be. In other ways I like it here. The M25 makes me want to weep however.

Yes Holly DS is the same as yours!
When we see him at nursery compared tot he others - omg they just sit there and play quietly or just lay there, he on the other hand is shouting and has been called 'aggressive'. They had to move him up an age group (despite being the youngest baby there) and he keeps hurting the other babies as he doesn't like to share.

Bless.

HellHathNoFury · 28/02/2008 15:34

What can I do though? It's not like he's even old enough to be told off lol!!

Life is pretty busy and hectic. I fork out so much money in child care and dog care, I work all hours, I have a 3 hour commute and I still cook a dinner every night and do laundry etc... and I just sometimes think...Why?! Why am I putting myself through this?!
oh yes that's right, for a 'better life'. At this rate I'll be dead before I get one lol!

LardyMardyDaisyBoo · 28/02/2008 15:35

proud mummy moment...

DS has had a portrait of me published in the local paper as part of their Mother's Day spread . It was a competition run by the Yorkshire Post and local schools and only the best ones got in

Unfortunately, he didn't tell us about it (neither did the school, so we don't have a copy of the paper )

suggestions needed for cars to seat three car seats in the back....who said going from two to three wasn't costly?

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 28/02/2008 15:42

That is fab daisy! Can you phone the newspaper office and get them to send you a copy? My mum has done this before and it only costs a couple of quid. Well done to ds, he is a superstar!

Did you get my email?

My friend has a car that can fit 3 seats in the back. It is a vauxhall, but I don't know which one. Zafira or meriva I think.

That's part of the reason we were thinking of moving abroad fury. A better quality of life. I couldn't belive how much cheaper everything in Oz was. From housing to food. One mum I was speaking to doesn't work and her husband is a taxi driver, they live very comfortably, own their own 4 bed home in the middle of Brisbane and get loads of benefits too. It does make you wonder.

HellHathNoFury · 28/02/2008 15:49

Yes we are looking at Brissie at the moment, also Adelaide but our earning potential is more in queensland.

Yay Daisy, that's so sweet!

I am not sure but maybe a mondeo? they are mahoosive. Or a galaxy or something.

If you want a spacious Kia 4x4 with a brand new gearbox, gleaming black, leather trim, I could help you there....

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 28/02/2008 15:54

I didn't really like Brisbane...I thought it was a bit backward! Everyone seemed to have very strange old pushchairs, we got stopped in the street wherever we went with people asking us about our Zapp! I also HATED the supermarkets, they were all really nasty and full of mostly meat! There were lots of plus points though, the weather being one of them and the cost of living is so cheap.

milkyJammy · 28/02/2008 15:54

Yay for you and DS Daisy! Hope you manage to get a copy of the paper.

Nappys arrived Thank you very much I have been a jellyhead though! I presumed she was wearing the small bum huggers (which are getting a little on the tight side) and thought the large ones were therefore what we wanted. But as I unpacked them I thought they looked the same and checked the tags on the ones we have, and she is already wearing large! But it's not your fault or problem at all of course - I should keep tabs on what nappies she's wearing and make sure I buy the right ones. But they are so lovely and soft and pink it's tearing at me to think that I might just have to sell them straight on And I can't believe my little baby is so porky !!

HellHathNoFury · 28/02/2008 15:58

Brissie is ok if you know where to go - and yes most of the supermarkets in the whole of Aus are a bit tat, best go to the markets!
DH is from brissie so we have 'insider knowledge' lol

But I still love Adelaide but eek will we get paid well there? it's such a small city.

I am off home now. Pasta for dinner, yum

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 28/02/2008 16:01

OMG, I didn't realise it was so late! I've done nothing all day!

Dp's dad lives in brisbane, so if you go over we can def have a meet up! He is a reformed alcoholic, so didn't really know of anywhere fun to go and it was raining almost every day we were there! It was pretty shit really!

milkyJammy · 28/02/2008 16:15

But I've just put one of the bambineos on her, and it's a lovely fit! And so soft!! So I'm feeling much happier now Please don't think I was complaining at you before Daisy, I was just annoyed with myself. And thank you again

OP posts:
LardyMardyDaisyBoo · 28/02/2008 18:09

I'm glad you like the bambineos jammy and sorry the bumhuggers are a bit tight. Once she is mobile she will probably slim down in the thigh area so you might find that they fit her later on?

holly, I never thought of that!

I put a listing on MN local though and someone is going to send me their copy. I heart MN .

I was trying to convince DH that a move to Oz or NZ would be good, but he would be stuffed jobwise. The visa would probably be down to me, and there is no way I'm going back to work and letting DH be a SAHD.

LardyMardyDaisyBoo · 28/02/2008 18:35

hey ladies, we found DSs drawing on line. Anyone want to help us win an XBox360? All you need to do is vote for his drawing, because it is, obviously, the best

It's drawing No 0404 on page 7

foxythesnowman · 28/02/2008 19:27

Voted! Lovely picture BTW

I tried today, I really did.

But taking the DDs to our local playcentre, whilst feeding foxcub4, a 2 yo decided he wanted to see her face, so tried to turn his head using her eye as a handle. I thought he was going to stroke her head, as they do. She has claw marks up her face.

That'll teach me to try going out into the real world.

I totally accept that I am being totally PFB. (Precious Fourth Born).

Righto, off to catch up.

BumperliciousNeedsaGlassofWine · 28/02/2008 19:37

Done daisy - bless!

Foxy, it's not precious to want your child to grow up with both eyes!

DH is out tonight, DD is in bed and I am watching masterchef and waiting for my dinner to cook, roasted veg and couscous. Bliss! Can't wait for my day tomorrow. Think I might pop out and get a paper, do a bit of yoga, have a bath, watch some trash and MN of course!

foxythesnowman · 28/02/2008 19:43

Hi Bumper, and everyone.

I record all the Masterchef and watch them all in one go on Saturday night! Because I am a saddo!

FairyFay · 28/02/2008 19:45

lovely pic Daisy, I have voted too

foxythesnowman · 28/02/2008 19:48

Feeling any better Fairy?

milkyJammy · 28/02/2008 19:53

Sorry for being totally dim, but how do I vote?

Agree that 'tis normal to want child of any rank to have 2 working eyes.

Good news on the bunhugger front. We tried one of the new ones from Daisy on the jamlet and it fitted much better than the ones we have been using. We tried one with poppers instead of velcro and it was a good fit. We've discussed it and are wondering if the velcro just doesn't hold together as well now it's been used a while which gives the impression of the nappy not fitting? Which would also explain why the tots bots nappies we use in the day also seem too small - they were given to us 2nd hand so could be quite old.

I went back to the Papers homepage and clicked on competitions. Don't know if there's an easier way, but you send and email with the code LYM VOTE in the subject bit.

LardyMardyDaisyBoo · 28/02/2008 20:04

cheers guys

So, talk to me about double buggies and family sized cars........
