I assume I've missed saying good night to Caz.

Have just learned some exciting news, though I'm a little embarrassed not to have found out before. My dad's not very good at passing on family gossip, and my cousin (his brother's daughter) is pregnant. I learned it from her status update on Facebook.

If she was a relative on my mum's side of the family having her first baby, I might have heard sooner!

NorthernLurker · 20/02/2008 22:52

That's lovely news Elkie.

I'm just off now so you can say goodnight to me if you like

Night all!

tick tock tick tock
just over pne hour to go .....

I have a card from Dippy (I recognise the writing and she told me anyway ) and one from Skott, plus a couple of others.

I have no card from M because "well you haven't reminded me every day for the last 2 weeks so I have forgotten to get him to do one" his dad is an angel at times but a complete muppet at others!

M was a sweetheart earlier though, I told him it was my birthday tomorrow and he said that we really did need a cake because everybody has to have a cake on their birthday, but that I wasn't allowed to see it. We were in town with a friend so we went to Tesco and he took M off to choose me a cake. They wrapped it in J's blanket and put it in the trolley, then put it on the belt in the blanket. The checkout lady and the shopper being served in front looked at it rather oddly so I explained and they melted at how sweet that was. The cake was duly scanned under the blanket so mummy couldn't see and bagged still in blanket! The checkout lady told M not to let mummy see the receipt as it says what kind of cake it is on there. M pipes up "well why did you put it on there, that was very silly" thankfully she found this amusing and explained that the computer did it and she couldn't stop it
Cake has been duly deposited at granny's house ready for us to go there after nursery tomorrow evening.
I had to laugh, secrets are really not his thing, after going to all that effort the conversation in the car went like this
"mummy, your cake is my favourite colour"
"really? that means it's pink then!"
"how did you know that mummy?"
"because I am very clever and you are my little boy so it is my job to know these things"
"oh. pigs are pink mummy"

have a sneaking suspicion my cake may look a little like [[http://familyfun.go.com/Resources/Cakes/recipes/special/FF0801CAKE_pig.jpg this]

oooggs · 21/02/2008 00:06

sounds promising ellie - hope it works out

PillockOfTheCommunity · 21/02/2008 00:11

hmm, not sure
he's someone I've known for years, he was my boyf when I was 14/15 but I was just a holding hands girl then . I thought there was nothing there but knew he liked me. Have spent time with him and really enjoying it, I felt the desire to hug him which he was most amused by, as he pointed out that I was never a person to do hugs, even at 14 , but I still don't feel a 'spark' so not really sure what to do. (have told him this so just enjoying spending time together at the moment)

OP posts:
oooggs · 21/02/2008 00:12

sometimes the spark doesn't happen and you grow into them as the relationship develops - play it by ear and just enjoy the time for the moment. A hug wow he must be nice

PillockOfTheCommunity · 21/02/2008 00:14

I know, I reprimanded myself for the slip up afterwards

OP posts:
oooggs · 21/02/2008 00:19

night xx

NorthernLurker · 21/02/2008 08:17

I know someone who complained to me that she felt no spark with a man she had met a couple of times for drinks, dinner - was it worth going on with it.......they celebrated their first wedding anniversary at Christmas!!!
