Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

NL, ta for asking, have I been whinging that much? D dozed off while being fed and read his story tonight, quite quickly, but his teeth have woken him up twice.

NorthernLurker · 20/02/2008 21:09

Don't be daft - no whinging at all - but I know you're often around a bit later so I deduced he might be tucked up - but didn't want to say in case you were typing one handed Teeth are the limit aren't they?

elkiedee · 20/02/2008 21:18

Well, it varies a bit - dp usually has one late night a week but otherwise he takes D up to have a bath with him, I wash his hair and try to get him dressed, and then I read a story while dp gives him a bottle, and then I come downstairs. Tonight though we also had tea with D before putting him to bed, often we have ours separately later. And we'll no doubt evolve a different routine when I go back to work. Sooooo soon now.

Sexonlegs · 20/02/2008 21:19

Evening.

I love Mumsnet

Elkie, all I can say is sodding teeth!! Hope you get an ok night.

All ok here. DH came home with a box of chocs and a bunch of flowers God love him. We have had a chat, and he is thinking of ways to try and alleviate the pressure I am feeling. I haven't mentioned the ski-ing trip yet. Going to wait til tomorrow! Watch this space!! Feel better emotionally tonight, but rough as shite. I think I have laryngitis - practically lost my voice, and generally feel pants. Joy!!

God I am a whingy cow.

NorthernLurker · 20/02/2008 21:22

Elkie - are you back at the beginning of March?

SOL - good for you dh - sounds like you've got through to him a bit - hope that's the start of better things.

elkiedee · 20/02/2008 21:27

NL, yes, 3 March, getting nervous now.

SOL, sorry to hear that you have another bug, but glad to hear DH is taking notice.

CaptainDippy · 20/02/2008 21:29

How sweet of DH, SOL

{{{Elkie}}}

Babes are "getting there" NL - DD2 much better today, but got extrememly tired from bout 3pm onwards. P's spots are beginning to scab over and fade, which is good - so getting back on track here, I hope ....

NorthernLurker · 20/02/2008 21:32

That's good to hear Dippy

Elkie are you going back full time?

Sexonlegs · 20/02/2008 21:35

CD, so glad your girls are on the mend. Big kisses to them.
Dh is an utter sweetheart. He came home and said he had been so worried about me all day.

CaptainDippy · 20/02/2008 21:35

How are you NL??

NorthernLurker · 20/02/2008 21:36

That's lovely SOL. Re sking - is there any sort of childcare/creche there where you could leave K and have a hot chocolate/buy yourself a fur hat?

NorthernLurker · 20/02/2008 21:37

x post Dippy - I'm fine, eating curry and enjoying a bit of peace. Dh out at deacons meeting and all children in bed.

CaptainDippy · 20/02/2008 21:37

Awwww, big kisses to your girlies too, SOL

CaptainDippy · 20/02/2008 21:40

Sounds nice NL - wish I could say all was peace and quite here, but DD2 has just started screaming and DH went in there and ..... kissed her .... how dare he!!!!? She is now screaming: "Don't kiss me! Don't kiss me!!"

Sigh.

NorthernLurker · 20/02/2008 21:43
  • let's be glad he didn't offer a hug - or a story!!
cazboldy · 20/02/2008 21:49

sorry NL crossed wires earlier - i meant about our situation here, not the childbed fever thing (terrible though that is )

I mean I have given up here

elkiedee · 20/02/2008 21:52

Yes, I am. The benefits of a 4 day week wouldn't outweigh the drawbacks, I'm pretty sure, and my plan is to try again soon for another baby, if that doesn't happen after say a year we'll hopefully move to Leeds and I'll leave anyway, if I get lucky I'll go back part time for the minimum 6 months and then leave that job and this city. I've had enough, and so has dp, and I really want to be closer to my mum. We bought 9 years ago so are lucky enough to have some equity, as I don't expect to earn anything like the wage in Leeds I do in central London.

Sexonlegs · 20/02/2008 21:53

Oh no Dippy! Hope she calms down soon.

NL, pmsl at buying a fur hat! The place we are going isn't a big shiny resort, so no creches or anything. Not sure I could face leaving my angel baby with someone I don't know. Just going to sleep on it and make a decision tomorrow. I have to say if I feel as pants as I do this evening, I will not be going.

Right, am heading to bed.

So lovely ladies, I wish you and yours a restful night and lots of love. xx

NorthernLurker · 20/02/2008 21:54

Oh Caz - I'm so sorry things are so tough - and v about the crossed wires - I didn't actually see your post of 18.37 - don't know how I missed it! Can i offer a {{{{hug}}}}?

elkiedee · 20/02/2008 21:54

Caz, really sorry to see you're down about your housing situation.

NorthernLurker · 20/02/2008 21:55

Elkie - that sounds like a good plan - really hope you do get lucky with another baby as soon as you would like one

SOL - feared that might be the case re resort - sounds like you've got a plan as well - hope you get a decent night!

cazboldy · 20/02/2008 22:01

thanks NL, and Elkie

do you know NL, you seem like such a lovely person, I would love to meet you, though as we are so far away it isn't likely, but i really like you

not that I don't like the rest of you of course

NorthernLurker · 20/02/2008 22:03

Shuuush Caz - am now. Partly because I am of course an evil witch in real life.........

cazboldy · 20/02/2008 22:06

I don't believe you NL!

anyway, am off to bed now

good night all x

NorthernLurker · 20/02/2008 22:07
