c arrived at 7.47pm - we arrived at the labour floor at 7.00pm!!

runnyhabbit · 21/02/2008 20:14

Happy Birthday POTC

I have been offered the job!!!!

But I've got an interview tomorrow for an accountants assistant (which would be great for me studying accountancy) and I really like the sound of it.
I think (and obv depends on me being offered the job) that if I get offered the accountancy job, then I'll just say to the first company that I've been offered something permanent. They can't really argue with that? can they?

PillockOfTheCommunity · 21/02/2008 20:19

thank you

doesn't matter whether they can argue with it or not runny, it's your choice!

Congratulations runny. And that seems fair enough, the temp job employer might not like it much but it seems better to choose what matters to you. Years ago, I left one maternity leave cover job for another one, and I burned my bridges with the agency involved, but it worked out well in the end in terms of pay and experience.

elkiedee · 21/02/2008 20:27

So POTC did you enjoy the cake?

D is hard to settle tonight, dp has taken him for a walk - if the buggy doesn't at least ease the crying we're stuck.

aaarrrrgghhh someone has a crazy car alarm going off outside, that's not going to help.

cazboldy · 21/02/2008 20:50

congratulations runny!

geordiemacminx · 21/02/2008 21:10

Congrats runny

Happy Birthday potc

Pesha · 21/02/2008 21:59

Hello!!!!!

Its so quiet on here lately - I hope our chattiness isnt starting to dwindle, I'd hate to see us become one of those pn threads were it takes 6 months to get to 500 messages

I would post more but just done my nails and they're still not quite set so typing is very slow!!

Dont know why I've bothered though as they'll prob be all chipped by tomorrow night

liath · 21/02/2008 22:06

Evening all!

Happy Birthday POTC.

Well done on the job, Runny.

I went to a MN meet up today, which was good fun. After we had lunch I gaily suggested we walked back over Arthur's Seat to see the ducks. The wind got stronger and stonger and by the top we could barely push the buggies into it, hats were blowing off never to be seen again, babies wailing - whoops. Good exercise at least!!

Hope D settles and you have a reasonable night, Elkie.

weeonion · 21/02/2008 22:13

lol liath at your hike over arthurs seat!! a bracing stroll after lunch.

caz - shame on the ouse news. you must be so disappointed but i hope you and dp are back on speaking terms.

pesha - i agree with you on the hoping we dont all dwindle away. our numbers seem to have depleted and posting goes through peaks and troughs.
hope the nails are drying ok. mine seem to break so easily now. i hark back to the days when i got them done every week in vampish colours with toenails to match! long long way from my mind and budget these days!

we are off to a friends in the country tomorrow. they have just moved to a converted water mill. the pics are fab so cant wait so its embarassing the amount of stuff i have sorted for C. i've pjs and a pair of knickers - she's every outfit under the sun!

we are sorting out C's naming ceremony / birthday party. its gone from a quiet affair to about 60 people. i've got well into the swing with my designs for room layout and decor! just spoken to a cake designer and she's doing us a "topsy turvy" cake. roll on the 12th april!!!

PillockOfTheCommunity · 21/02/2008 22:15

it's cos I'm not here, you know you all only keep coming back to see what disaster has befallen me next

PillockOfTheCommunity · 21/02/2008 22:26

AAAARGH
fucking men
just had the 'friend' on the phone
I haven't text him all day and he doesn't know what to think.

GRRRRR. what happened to no pressure? what happened to keeping it relaxed? what happened to giving me space?

I so don't want to be in something where I feel claustrauphobic and I've told him as much. I'm not feeling well and I've been at work all day, then didn't get home til 8. Very few people have had a reply from me today!

surprise surprise, he's been drinking

OP posts:
elkiedee · 21/02/2008 22:47

WO, hope you have a lovely trip to the country. I know what you mean, I get really carried away when packing up D's clothes.

Sorry you're not feeling well Ellie.

oooggs · 21/02/2008 23:03

aaaaaaarrrrrrrrgggggggghhhhhhhhh

I went to bed at 8pm - felt dreadful, tired & headache, so the little sod wakes me at 10pm and is now in my bedroom in the travel cot shouting & screaming.

When does he do that? What should I do? calpol? milk? hammer?

runny - fab news

ellie - sorry you sre feeling pressured & unwell

liath - brezzy walk then

sol - whatever you decided to do, I hope you are enjoying it

weeonion - sounds like hell of a party (my due date was the 12th)

caz - so sorry and hope things are at least on speaking terms

yes hope we aren't starting to dwindle

I have had probs with my hotmail acc. and missed Octos email and therefore was busy today so missed a meetup

I was busy with no children dropped ds1 off at nursery, then went into town shopping, then popped into work as have lots of questions about returning and this was a good meeting, then off to pizza hut for lunch all with no children - home at 1.30pm

runnyhabbit · 21/02/2008 23:04

lol potc.

dh used to be like that when we first started going out. I remember going over to friends house for a girlie night in, and he kept texting me. Told him if he didn't stop, I would switch my phone off. He didn't stop, so switched my phone off.
Told me later that he really liked me doing that because it meant that I meant what I said

runnyhabbit · 21/02/2008 23:05

sorry pillock, maybe my lol was inappropiate

I panicked when dh called me his girlfriend after 2 weeks of dating!

runnyhabbit · 21/02/2008 23:12

getting wound up on this thread

is that the time

must got to bed
x

oooggs · 21/02/2008 23:26

that thread made good reading runny

I am planning on taking time out allow when dc's at nursery to catch up on stuff like mowing the lawn, decorating etc... stuff that I can't do if they are around. And ds1 prefers nursery to home - can't blame him, there he gets to do fun stuff all the time whereas at home we have to juggle fun stuff with chores etc

elkiedee · 22/02/2008 00:07

Thanks for drawing my attention to that. I will miss D when he's at his childminder's but I think I'll appreciate both time without him and time with him.

PillockOfTheCommunity · 22/02/2008 01:02

please ignore that thread. The woman is a bitch, i'm sorry, but she is . This is not the first time she has posted some downright nasty things on the CM club topic. I saw it was her and blocked the thread, she really is worth nothing.

OP posts:
elkiedee · 22/02/2008 08:20

I actually found reading the thread quite reassuring, she only has one or two people agreeing with her on there and the rest make me feel better. And I'm quite sure she's not my CM.

StealthPolarBear · 22/02/2008 08:29
