Oooops no room to link to old thread!

Lol at AQ forgetting that she is pg Sure the madness will pass. And don't worry about my chocolate supply, I live round the corner from Tesco

Jabber I think you should pop ds in the post and I'll sned him on holiday with all my clibing friends, they do similarly dangerous stunts on a larger scale. He'd have a ball

No idea BP I my day Rainbows didn't have badges. What does she wear? If a tabard just sew it in anywhere if she has the clothing then most of mine seem to be going for a badges down the sleeve look. As far as I'm aware there isn't an official badge order for Rainbows.

AQ you can get a 6m and do double cross carries! . Loving ds1 and his twins, sure you'll have a nice little helper there You are sounding calmer at any rate. Good luck sorting work out, how does maternity leave and stuff work? Is all maternity pay based on going back after or is a portion of it yours even if you don't? Anyway remember to nap, if I seem to be needing naps then you definitely should!

Have cupcakes, will work

In my day, Indith, Rainbows didn't exist! As I've been clearing our ready to put house on the market I came across my old Guide handbook. It's all very 70s, hippyish. Fantastic

I mentioned twins to poor, dim DH. A look of panic crossed his face - I think he's picking up broody vibes and mentally running from them!

I do love your ds1 AQ. It must be amazing to have two kicking you.

Indith · 24/04/2008 15:21

Old Guide handbooks are ace. So very.... wholesome. Like famous five books. Jolly hockey sticks adventures.

BP I think Dp's response to my "AQ is having twins!" was "well you are not". I have pointedout that we don't actually get a choice in the matter but he keeps telling me I'm not allowed. I think AQ is now responsible for scaring the Dec '06 DPs and Hs.

Not that twins are in away way, shape or form scary things AQ

at Indith & BP & dp/dh! Don't mean to scare - Indith, if they don't run in the family you're fine! After all you are some 15 or so years younger than me...
Kicking is like having an octopus inside me at present iyswim. I expect it will be rougher later on, you tell me Margo! Funnily enough, I've been feeling quite happy & relaxed today although nauseous, surely my panic can't be over yet? Told work, and several friends and I think the hiding of the whole thing made me feel worse. Still can't face my colleague whose wife lost their dt's at 21 weeks

Indith · 24/04/2008 16:12

How long ago? I would expect though that it would hurt more if they thought you didn't feel as though you could tell them though.

I'm just enjoying winding dp up, his fear is quite amusing

An octopus huh? Cool! Can you tell which one is which and which one is where? By the way I am right in thinking that they are non-identical? Since you said one was a boy but you don't know the other, so they have separate placentas, identical would share one. Is that right or am I making up my biology?

Jabber I'm definitely with you on the 40-somethings, but who is Robby Benson? And HOW did you get to meet him? And was he still a heartthrob? (I'm in dire need of vicarious romance, can you tell?!)

Yes, we have Zirtek, but think it has to be on prescription for LOs - might ask the GP (I have to take her to get turned out foot checked in couple of weeks), thanks.

AQ, blessings on your octopus...octopi.....I bet you're feeling relieved at knowing why you've been feeling so rough, no? You sound beautifully pregnant! Very about your colleague's dts...and think I' dbe doing same as you, and not going there right now. I can tell you lots of happy twin stories, if you ever need to hear 'em - having spent years on IF TTC boards, which are littered with multiple pregnancies.

How are you feeling, Indith?

Took both girls swimming again, dd2 is a veritable fish while dd1 enjoys posing in her pink and white spotted swimsuit: it was a blast.

Have got to have a hsyteroscopy in a couple of weeks - small polyp to remove - has anyone had one? Its only a few hours in clinic, and short acting anaesthetic, but am wondering what I'll be like the following day, vis a vis planning activities...

Elibean · 24/04/2008 20:00

Sorry, misread post...AQ, would it be appropriate to tell colleague you're pregnant, without focusing on the twin part? Then he could ask for more info if he felt like it, or avoid the subject if he didn't, IYSWIM?

FunkyGlassSlipper · 25/04/2008 08:42

Morning Guys. I had a quick scan at missed posts and realised the thread has got totally surreal as we are discussing twins, Rainbows and Flylady .

DD2 is driving me nuts today as she is insisting on being carried at all times. I'm currently trying to fend off a foot from attacking the keyboard .

Babysteps Day 15 - Make your bed every day. It is a good habit to get into.

jabberwocky · 25/04/2008 17:47

Robby Benson sigh...

jabberwocky · 25/04/2008 17:48

PS He;s directing a movie in our little town.

LenniEd · 25/04/2008 21:04

oooh, yay, I already do make my bed... that means I get to go up a step without doing anything new!

GodzillasPimplyBumcheek · 25/04/2008 21:45

If anyone really is interested, you can have twins even if they're not in your family and you're quite young, because I did! You are more likely to have non-identical twins if they run in the family, but identicals can crop up anywhere and are random. Oh, and while i am busy being an 'expert', you can have identical twins who do not share a placenta (although i didn't know this 10 years ago) - it depends how early on the egg divided...

Anyone bored stiff yet?

castlesintheair · 25/04/2008 21:51

No that's very interesting Godzilla and just what I was thinking - about being able to have twins and not have the genetic for them, so to speak.

Elibean · 25/04/2008 22:02

Jabber

Will you be seeing him again?

Elibean · 25/04/2008 22:04

dd2 coughing and spluttering and sighing and tossing and turning.

She also puked a bit, twice, before bed. Looks like a dodgy night ahead.

DH recorded her nightly noises on his phone to play to GP, because its hard to describe....and we're fed up of worrying all on our own. Can just see GP's face when DH says 'listen to this' and spends ten minutes hunting for the right soundbite....

GodzillasPimplyBumcheek · 25/04/2008 22:07

Sounds nasty

Get DH to find the soundbyte before you go in to your appointment, and leave his phone on the right screen?

MARGOsBeenPlayingWithMyNooNoo · 25/04/2008 22:10

Eli - I don;t know anyone who has had a similar procedure. Do you think you should post it on the health board.

FGS - I try to make my bed everyday - I really hate to leave an unmade bed when i'm working on a Saturday morning but usually dh is asleep in it! I am making work for myself though. I'm aiming for a boudoir style bedroom and have 8 cushions and 2 throws on the bed.

Olihan · 25/04/2008 22:23

Snotty noses and coughs galore here too. Shall we have a sweepstake as to how many times we're all up tonight?

Olihan · 25/04/2008 22:32

Hmm, not concentrating on what I'm trying to type .

I make my bed everyday too. Mainly because the cats sleep on it and if I don't make it, they sleep on the bottom sheet or underside of the duvet. I detest getting into a gritty/hairy bed so it's a big motivation!

Margo, I'm also going for the cushions and throws look. DH doesn't really get it though - he spends about 10 mins every night ostentatiously getting comfortable then huffily throwing them all on the floor. Men, eh?

jabberwocky · 26/04/2008 01:42

eli, just saw the post about your upcoming procedure. My secretary had this done. I think you're kind of wiped out the rest of the day, mostly from the anesthesia.

re: Robby Benson - turns out he is very nearsighted and also presbyopic so I am giving him some different contacts to try. I think they are filming near our house next Friday

FunkyGlassSlipper · 26/04/2008 07:36

Lol @ Margo and Olihan's cushions.

Elibean- Are you going in for day surgery? I went in as a day case for my knee but ended up staying overnight as I reacted badly to the morphine. Worth having a contingency plan just in case. DH just didnt visit me which was fine - I got to read a WHOLE book in a day

babypowder · 26/04/2008 08:36

Lol FGS - it's amazing what we will do for a few hours of peace, quiet and me-time

castlesintheair · 26/04/2008 08:58

Eli, I had a cyst removed on my cervix if that's similar???? They went in through my belly button. I had a general and stayed in overnight. But I've had day surgery for other things (rather a long list in fact) and you usually feel ok next day but maybe take it easy, not too much heavy lifting etc. Like after a c-section. Ha ha ha!

castlesintheair · 26/04/2008 08:59

p.s. let me know if you need some help. Can come and take the girls off your hands for a few hours if you need to rest xx
