I've never started a new thread before - has this worked?

Something is definitely wrong with my settings or internet browser as I couldn't see the messages after Beckle's post until after I had posted myself - bizarre.

Amani I also prop DS up when he's on our bed in the morning whilst I'm getting things together, I see it as being no different from being in the bumbo/playnest/sat up against my tum and it's not for huge extended amounts of time or anything.
I'm glad you had your friend over, do you get out to many groups in the week? I'm currently building myself a new routine which incorporates chores/shopping/socialising/cooking - pretty much everything as it really helps to keep my spirits up and limits the overwhelming feelings as I'm always busy. Does your DD1 go to Nursery or a family member at all?

Just had a big shock going online to renew DH's road tax, the reminder said it was £300 for a year (which I thought was really high) but online it's now £400

oh how gruesome hearing about the severed head being found on an Arbroath beach - discovered by 4 and 7yr old sisters, how awful.

Ambi are you putting quite a bit of olive oil on then brushing it out with a baby brush? Both DD and DS had cradle cap quite bad and that sorted it out in both cases (sometimes I would have to move the brush in circles to get it all out). After a bath that night it was all gone

loucee · 01/04/2008 22:53

Awen hope the surgery went well today, let us know how you got on when you feel up to it

Ambi · 02/04/2008 08:43

Loucee - Thanks, I read about that on MN last night and most of its gone now.

Is it any wonder I'm addicted to this site.

hi loucee thanks for support- i got the meaning! turns out millie has conjunctivitis, she was obviously feeling poorly before the eye started weeping yesterday. Didn't have to feed her last night, although she woke up twice. (I ahve also slightly changed her routine to 7.30 bed, 7.30 up which actually works for me much better.) Dad is in a hospital respite facility still, awaiting a rubber stamp from the social services so that he can move into the nursing home mum has found for him. It was 2 years yesterday that he had the stroke- mum has gone away with her pals for a couple of days then we are all coming up for the weekend for her 70th birthday.

Same with the wanting to go out and get hammered, just once. but the thought of expressing and throwing away, and having to get up in the morning, and going to bed later than 9.30- makes me want to lie down even thinking about it.

loucee - i feel your pain; i am currently trying to ignore dd1 as she screams that she wants little red tractor ba as i have turned off the tv as we need to get dressed for tumbletots...she's usually a lovely little thing too, but is so strong minded we constantly have a battle of wills.

still, only two days left on my own this week.....

ambi - flynn had really bad cradle cap for weeks n i was using olive oil but kept coming back again n again. went to chemist n after using dentinox shampoo once it was gone! still using it, as it says you can continue to use as a shampoo, and his head is fab now

we will def be having more lo's. dh was immediatly put off after a pretty horrific labour, but told him if i could get my head round it then he had to!now he is so obsessed by flynn that he can't wait have more. think we'll start trying the beginning of nx year

Amani · 02/04/2008 10:35

Morning everyone,

Thanks for your responses - at least I know now I am not damaging DD2 back and don't feel bad about wishing DD2 was older.

Loucee - had the same problem when I went to renew my tax - found out I had to pay a little more. Trying to meet up with friends at least once a week and visit family twice a week. But a lot of the time it is a huge effort and sometimes I cancel at the last minute as I feel like I can't do it. When I do go though it does make me feel much better and that's what motivates me to keep in touch with people

Kelbel/Ambi - I second the Dentinox shampoo - got rid of DD2 cradle cap in one application.

McDoodle - hope your LO gets well soon. x

Sorry, but I can't remember if I have asked this before: has anyone tried giving water at night instead of milk, so that your LO won't bother getting up for water (i.e to help them to sleep through). A few people have recommended it, but not really tried it.

Morning ladies, shall we have a new thread? This is a long one. I'll try and start one.
