Hi E&H

my back is pretty crap today. I was over did it! Still, I feel positive that I will have more good days, as I've had none for SO long. Means there can and will be more.

Would it be poor form for me to bang on the ceiling in isobels room, as the woman upstairs has now woken her up twice tonight, and about three times last week, banging and dropping things on her bloody wooden kitchen floor! I'm fuming!!!
I want to drag her down here, by the hair and make HER get Isobel back to sleep!!!! I've told her really really nicely, that her kitchen is above isobels bedroom, and right above her head. She assured me she'd try to be quiet and not put her washing machine on after 8pm. I reckon that's be less disturbing than the loud bangs and crashes! Bolloxs I'm SO cross... can you tell?? What else can I do? how many other ways can I tell her?

Rant over... I think.

vinorouge · 25/02/2008 21:48

Susie - Ellen has got one back tooth through. I was surprised to see it there! She has suddenly got more teeth after only having 4 for ages. Sounds like the lady whose kitchen is above Isabel's room is very annoying. I would be getting myself wound up thinking about it. Hope you are feeling calmer.

E&H - like the tip about waxing the furniture. Think I'll do that. DH got our lightbulbs working tonight so the house is suddenly very bright.

Made an oh so yummy choc cake tonight that I have just had a big piece of.

susiecutiemincepies · 25/02/2008 21:56

thanks vino I'm glad im not imagining that tooth at the back. Im sure there is one starting there. I guess they are all so different, but wa thinking if it was totally unheard of, then it might be an ear infection starting. More likely to be a tooth I reckon.

The woman upstairs is actually lovely when I see her and chat. She is just totally clueless at how much the noise travels to us. I can remember when I lived up there, the dog down here, used to bark every time i walked into the kitchen, so I was aware of it. even contemplated giving isobel the larger room at the front. She has an en-suite in her room too! lucky little girl! Maybe I ought to just pop upstairs tomorrow, when I'm not so pissed off, and tell her nicely.

Just about to go and have a lovely hot bath with a big blue ball from Lush. It turns the water blue as it fizzes around, something hugely relaxing about it, plus it smells delicious...

PCF - congrats on the weight loss. You must have willpower at the mo although I guess your wedding dress is a good incentive! Goose sounds yummy, never had it but would like to try it one day.

Susie - hope you enjoyed your bath. I'd had one last night before I posted and used some sanctuary mum to be stuff that I'd been given so skin smells lovely and feels really soft.

Got an electrician coming tonight to alter sme light fittings for us, then we are able to decorate the lounge. There were 2 wall light seach with 3 bulbs and 2 ceiling lights each with 3 bulbs and its not exactly a huge lounge. the wall lightshad no bulbs in anyway but it was ridiculously bright with the ceiling lights so we are having them put backto a simple pendant light.

susiecutiemincepies · 26/02/2008 15:08

Good afternoon girls

I fell asleep in the bath last night! a bit scary when I woke up, just made me think, what the hell would happen if something happened to me here, whilst on my own with isobel? I mean if I had a fall and coudlnt get to the phone, or something horrible happened to me... the thought was quite worrying!

Anyway, am feeling really good again today. NOT overdoing it though

Izzy is supposed to be having a nap, but i can hear her talking non stop to her little friends in her cot, and when i popped my head round the door, she had her books out infront of her. really sweet, but I'd rather she just went to sleep!

DH is on nights this week, in Sunderland, so we're not going up to see him. However, her is coming home friday morning now, so we get an extra night with him, plus, he's on nights on monday so wont need to rush off on sunday. we get a lie in with him monday morning!

PCF WELL DONE!!! I am desperatly trying to lose weight too. I've just joined Slimming world, via the post, as I cant get out to a class reguarly. It worked really well for me in the past, so I"m really looking forward to starting it, and shifiting some of these rolls!

Oh, and I've had goose before. Its really nice. Quite alot of fat when you cook it, its quite a gamey type of meat. Really lovely though. My dad used to cook it at christmas.

UD how is little man today? starting to eat properly yet?

ratbunny So pleased you are re-introducing dairy. I've stopped Isobel on cows milk and yoghurts, she seems fine on small amounts of cheese. She gets a really upset tummy wit explosive poo if she drinks alot of cows milk. I don't think she is totally intolerant, but certainly is a bit sensitive to something in cows milk. She has goats milk now. I'll start again slowly with it, I think in a few months see how we get on...

Wilkie We were going to move to that area at the end of last year, and were looking for places to rent. We came across some really horrible areas, can't remember where no and found a gorgeous little village, not far out, so the drive was easy for DH on the M62 (or is it m60 ?) Anyway, there are some lovely areas if you have a good drive around. We got the map out, circled the area that was the furthest he was happy to drive, and just drove around, got out, wandered round etc... in the end, his job wsa moved to sunderland instead, and not for so long, so no point in all of us moving!
I'll try and have a look on the map, and tell you what we found where, if thats any help?

eandh · 26/02/2008 16:45

pcf - well done on weight loss and glad sunday went well. Cant believe its only 9 and bit weeks to the wedding, i am joining WW soon (ie when we have spare money) Ellie is really into helping me prepare dinner (she chops vegetables with my help) and I have found since I have let her help she eats so much more as she thinks she has cooked it

Vin - sounds like mega bright in your lounge at the mo, think thats a good plan ie pendant lights. We dont have any ceiling lights in lounge/landing etc people who lived here before us took them down and we have wall lights with low wattage bulbs and lamps as I hate bright lights.

Susie - at bath, I must admit I tend to carry my mobile in my back pocket of trousers as I fainted when 8months pg with Hattie and came round to find ellie who was 2.3 at the time asking for her breakfast and standing in front of me with a box of frosties and her bowl. I couldnt move as I felt so lightheaded and luckily enough she understood to go and get me the phone (my neighbour had spare key so came and sat with ellie whilst my Mum came down to us) its one of the reasons why I try and carry my mobile with me.

Change of plan with ballet, bf dd goes to the only class they have free and bf and I said it'd be nice for them to do something without each other (they have always done toddler group, preschool etc together) so have found a gymnastics class on thursday afternoons 2-2.45 so we can do that after preschool (when she goes to school she transfers to saturday class) think it may be more her thing as she loves running around and swinging etc, plus they do lots of rymathic dancing with ribbons, hoops etc as well as appartus work. She has a free trial session so am waiting to hear when she can try it out.

2happy · 26/02/2008 17:12

Urgh what a day. Work was really busy this am, didn't get finished till 2 (boys normally in bed by then!). Drove home....where the f* is the garden shed?!! Bloddy blown away!! All the junk stuff that was in it just sitting open to the elements, only no shed left round it. Had to shift all that inside, back killiong me (not azs bad as yours susie). GBoing to have to phone insurers, all that sort of stuff. I bet it was the twat in the hat who sold us the house - far too keen on DIY and absolutely shite at it, I bet he didn';t even bother fixing the thing down properly

Susie - swap bedrooms and just have really noisy sex whenever she's trying ot have her dinner (suppose that doesn't work so well when you've a bad back and your dh is in Sunderland )
UD - how's Z?
vino - house sounds good
eandh - ballet, awwwwwwww. Friend's dd does balltet, is too cute.

OP posts:
eandh · 26/02/2008 17:40

at the shed !!!!!but am very sorry but also pmsl at the stuff sitting there with no shed.

susiecutiemincepies · 26/02/2008 17:56

2happy good idea, will do that at the weekend! Wont need to swap rooms though, as our bedroom is underneath her sitting room ( crap planning by the guy who refurbished this place. ) We could then move into the living room, when she has gone to bed.

I wouldnt mind so much, but I'm SO incredibly considerate to her , far to much in DH's opinion. I'm paranoid about our noise disturbing her.

Oh well, I'm going to say something when i next see her.

Well, the rest of our day has been not so good. My hip has started recently to be more and more painful. I went for a little walk and could hardly make it back. I stopped every 5 mins or so. I had to sit in the garden for half an hour before I could walk down the steps. It needs replacing, but hoping i've got a couple years with it yet... today has made me wonder though

2happy: can't believe the shed just blew away! is it actually really windy, or a combination of bad building and gusty wind? Its bloody windy here today. The chairs have all blown over.

e&H: Gym sounds like a good plan. I'd love Isobel to do ballet when she's bigger, but I get the impression she's never going to be a dainty ballet type of girl ( can't think where she gets that from ) Why don't you want them to do ballet together though? I'd love izzy to have a little friend she does everything with!

theUrbanDryad · 26/02/2008 18:13

hi everyone! things are much better our end now, Z is lots better and went to nursery yesterday and today. he eats really well there, apparently he snarfed a massive bowl of carbonara tagliatelle and 2 slices of cheesey bread today along with apple pie and custard! the boy eats better than i do!! so hopefully he'll be putting all his weight back on now.

Wilkie - tell dh congrats on the job, can't remember if i said it before.

Susie - i hate noisy neighbours!!

PCF -congrats on the weight loss and i'm glad A is feeling better.

2H - sorry but pmsl at your shed!

can't remember anymore personals, sorry!! hello everyone else!

eandh · 26/02/2008 18:17

Well the problem with them doing everything together is that they get very overexcited and dont always concentrate (sometimes an issue at preschool) also they are vey loud and squealy together and think it'd be nice for them to have a seperate interest. They'll be going to the same primary school but will be in different years as bf dd is june baby and ellie a spetember baby, so her bf will go Jan next year (school do 2 intakes and as her bday is in summer she starts then) and ellie will go sept next year (on her 5th birthday ) so they'll be in different school years, am hoping they'll still be best friends but both me and bf agree different school years is the best option for them and the teachers and they'll still see each other at play/lunchtime

Just thought about your neighbour - stick a porno dvd/channel on very loudly and see if she takes the hint

eandh · 26/02/2008 18:18

x post - glad he is on the mend UD

Reggiee · 26/02/2008 19:12

Evening all.
I hope my Tesco man comes soon....I am dying for some chocolate chip cookies....nom nom

2happy · 26/02/2008 20:09

Yes, I've got to say it was pretty surreal driving up the lane and thinking...something looks different here...and trying to work out where the shed was (who would steal a shed, was my first wildly inaccurate thought)...and then seeing bikes, barbecue, lawnmower just sat there. It's very very windy but also really gusty. dh and I found the shed and were trying to shift it - stupidly got underneath it (to try and flip it over) when there was another gust right against us, we were nearly squashed flat. dh had to unscrew all the walls from the roof to move the fecking thing. It is totally trashed. I took some pics (in case the insurance wants them - never claimed on insurance before, no idea if they'll want them), if I can be arsed I'll upload them.

UD - really good news about Z
RG - choc chip cookies nom! I'm going to get my self some apple crumble and ice cream in a mo
scmp - sorry to hear your hip is sore and your day hasn't turned out as good as you'd hoped You must be in so much pain.
eandh - weird to think about them starting school already.

OP posts:
eandh · 26/02/2008 20:37

what is really scary had she been born a week earlier she'd be going to school this year I am actually glad she is going literally on her 5th birthday as she'd never cope with school at the moment

susiecutiemincepies · 26/02/2008 22:36

My day got a bit worse. Sorry to come on and be a bloody misery, but i'm so upset.I did a bit of tidying and cleaning after dinner, then put Iosbel in the bath. My back started really killing, and my hip got worse, I ended up not being able to get up from the floor, or lift her up out of the bath.

I had to call my neighbour ( not the noisy one ) to come and rescue us. I was so embarrassed, and so upset, I felt I'd really let Izzy down. I managed to dry her hair off and put her vest half way on so she didn't get too cold. She was fine and happy enough, but just shivering and her lips were blue.
I've just poured large large baileys, see if that cheers me up at all.

I'm so sorry 2happy, one thing has cheered me up is chuckling at the image of all your gear sitting neatly minding its own business, and wooosh, off goes their house, and out in the cold, sitting there shivering until you can build a new one...

Reggie: pass the biccies please?

Reggiee · 27/02/2008 07:21

Aww ((Susie)) hope a good night's sleep has helped. Try not to do too much today.

2H agree with everyone else. Sympathies, but pmsl!!!

So...did the earth move for you last night? Especially you Wilkie?
DH and I were awake during the earhtquake, and he ended up holding on to the bedpost, and I got up and opened the wardbdrobes as was convinced cats were shut in there and had caused the banging and moving of the bedroom [slight confusion emoticon].

theUrbanDryad · 27/02/2008 07:35

Susie - big hugs, i know you can't help how you feel but don't think you let Isobel down! you're her mummy and the most important person in her world, and it's not your fault what happened. hope the baileys helped!

Wilkie · 27/02/2008 07:52

POsting quick re the Earthquake. The epicentre (sp?) was about 20 miles from here. We both woke up shouting 'What the hell is that' - literally the whole house shook for about 5 seconds and it sounded like a HGV going past the house! We concluded it was an air lock in the central heating but just seen the news!!

Off to read thread now and do personals xxx

eandh · 27/02/2008 12:46

Afternoon, quick 5 mons on here whilst e and h eating honey sandwiches, frazzles and chopped up strawberries.

I cut Hattieshair this morning and she looks so grown up now . Also got ellie's record of progress file from preschool (they give them to you 1st week of every term so you can see progress) pmsl at some of her comments

'ellie started to count the pasta shapes but became bored halfay though and said if I wanted to kn ow how many pasta shapes there where I should count them myself '

'ellie has good communication skills' I interpreted as she talks a lot

'natural leader' meaning bossy

'ellie is confident within a group environment particlary likes playing with the boys' is she turning into a hussy

'ellie was painting a picture I commented that it was a beautifl picture and ellie replied 'i know' ' mmmmmm slightly big headed!

'Ellie is very specific with gluing and sticking and organises her work before starting and plans what she wants to do' mmmm now where does she inherit that from

Oh there are so many I rang DH and he was laughing at her and my Mum said it seems very similar to my school reports (I am not bossy, talkative, anal' [grin)

laughalot · 27/02/2008 14:47

There was no earthquake it was wilkie farting .

I must admit to put it bluntly I nearly shat my knickers actually I wasnt wearing any knickers .

Well it was parents day today all went well my ds is a bright boy but still has to be refered to a pead because of his social skills. Apparently even if there isnt a problem and he still needs the support on how to learn social skills he wont get it unless he has been refered so we are going to go with it and see what happens. Lauren behaved well except midway through his teacher speaking she stood up in the corner grunting and did a massive dump.

Work in the morning .................

eandh · 27/02/2008 15:37

pmsl at lauren filling her nappy - obviously after some attention
