Still snowing here

NL - Sorry about your job - sounds very crappy - can you complain?

Have been to bab sensory this afternoon so C is worn out - fast asleep in his cot - happy days

I have bought him one of these as they had one of these at the class, and he loved it!!

CaptainDippy · 31/01/2008 15:19

My list just keeps getting longer and longer, MJ - Tis ridiculous! DH is "the normal" - knackered, looking like he has been hit by a 40 tonne truck - He got up late this morning and was late for work, deary me!!

runnyhabbit · 31/01/2008 15:32

I am now unemployed

Am taking W to drs later. He's been chesty since before Christmas, and everytime I've been to the drs, they've said his chest is clear.

Surely it can't be right that a nearly 10mth old baby has a "smokers" cough all the time.

I would love to be able to stick a pipe down his throat and suck all the crap away iyswim

CaptainDippy · 31/01/2008 15:35

WaaaaaHooooo runny! Hope Dr can shed some light on poor W's cough - P is v.similar atm, is horrid to hear her hacking away when she down for sleeps.

runnyhabbit · 31/01/2008 15:37

I know Dippy, and without sounding crude (tmi alert) if it was me suffering, I would just cough it up and get rid of it that way

mammyjo · 31/01/2008 15:45

Hope the last day was ok Runny, no tearful farewell?!!
Hope you get W sorted out at the gp's

CaptainDippy · 31/01/2008 15:46

Absolutely - poor wee mites!!

runnyhabbit · 31/01/2008 15:47

Can categorically confirm there were no tears

well, perhaps a few joyous ones...

CaptainDippy · 31/01/2008 16:05
Grin
CaptainDippy · 31/01/2008 17:28

No posts for an hour and a half!!

Where's everyone go!!?

Off to have a quick cuppa before DH gets home with girlies .......

cazboldy · 31/01/2008 17:51

thanks to you all

What a thought GMM! 70 or 80 years...........

my lovely brother offered to pay for us to go out for a meal tonight and babysit aswell! but I have said no (does that seem ungrateful?) as I just wouldn't feel right leaving Molly at bedtime just yet, and 5 is a lot for anyone to be left with......... but we are going out for lunch tomorrow instead!
My mum bought us a really nice stoneware dinner set with 8 of everything, so now I actually have enough plates for all of us that will match very unlike me! and my sister bought us some chocs and some flowers.......bad news is his tax bill was nearly £600 more than we had anticipated so we are too skint to buy each other anything, but hey they say the best things in life are free anyway right?

foal looking quite perky atm, but just keeping fingers crossed....we won't know if she is out of the woods for a while yet.....

oooggs · 31/01/2008 18:21

5 is alot caz - I wouldn't even leave my 3.

We went to nursery today, were early to pick up ds1 so stayed and played in the babyroom where they will be starting in 2 months. DS2 was off and didn't have a car, DD stayed close to me but both had a whale of a time, different toys and places to explore.

Woo hoo runny to unemployment

well dh has gone, he is currently at Exeter Airport waiting for a flight to Glasgow which may very well be diverted to Edinburgh, where they don't have a car or accomodation

Sexonlegs · 31/01/2008 18:28

Hi all, hope you are all fine and dandy.

NL, how irritating re work. Employers are a nightmare changing things at the last minute. Hope you get things sorted.

Runny - hurrah to ending work. Sorry about your wages though - that is v naughty of them.

Happy Anniversary Caz!!!!

Elkie, hope you didn't get too wet today on your walk out.

GMM, hope dp can get time off and be helpful

Pesha, hope D is ok poor lamb.

Brain emptied. Dh is home - hurrah!

Right, need to head to start bath time for the girlies. Back later. xx

StealthPolarBear · 31/01/2008 19:07

Thanks!

Sorry I need to vent before I explode - I am so fucking angry!!!

I'm making tea, my leg is killing me, not to worry, dp comes in "whats wrong" so I tell him that 'I'm tired, and that my leg is sore, I dont even get a response, he just goes and sits back on the sofa with the laptop. I continue making tea, just about finished, he comes in again "whats wrong" again I tell him that I'm tired and my leg is hurting and that it hasnt changed since the last time he asked. I give him his tea, he doesnt even say thanks. I tell him that whats wrong is that rather than asking twice whats wrong and not doing anything he could have helped with tea. He eats his then goes storming out in the car in the rain, telling me that I'm a miserable cow, that I have been spoiling for a fight since Sunday (I havent - I'm just worn out and in pain) and that he cant do anything right.

So off he's gone, he'l come back sometime, probably not long but he wont speak to me until I make the effort, we'll have another row then eventually sort it out. He maks me so angry. He cant see that I am struggling at the moment, I'm starting to worry that it might be something more serious - he just thinks I'm a miserable cow and that I do it on purpose.

Sorry rant over.

AuntieMeemz · 31/01/2008 19:47

oh Geordie, you poor thing.
We go through so much as women, mothers, carers, it makes me think that God knew what he was doing.
Can you just imagine if the DH's were in charge, nuturing would be a thing of the past, feeding, changing, etc would all just go to pot...

I hope your leg is feeling a bit better.

StealthPolarBear · 31/01/2008 19:48

GMM
Insensitive male
It's no excuse but sometimes men need it spelling out
Hope you manage to clear air without a fight

is he back?

OP posts:
geordiemacminx · 31/01/2008 19:50

It just really pisses me off when he asks whats wrong and then goes silent - he either cares or he doesnt.

geordiemacminx · 31/01/2008 19:51

nope no sign of him - It must be nice to have that freedom to walk out whenever you like

StealthPolarBear · 31/01/2008 19:58

yes I agree with that! Have tried to explain it to DH before (not arguing)
He gets out of bed when he wants, agrees to play football without asking me, would "pop to the shop" or go for a run without expecting to check with me first, fair enough I'm breastfeeding but I don't think he realises what it's like to have to arrange a "babysitter" who is the other parent!
And he is good, I'm not really compaining about him, just that he doesn't understand that aspect of it.
Anyway, sorry for ranting abt me - was trying to say i understood!

oooggs · 31/01/2008 20:06

gmm hope you pain eases men can be so insensitive and a PITA

geordiemacminx · 31/01/2008 20:08

If it wasnt for the fact that C is asleep and its foul outside I would seriously think about bundling us into the car and checking into a hotel tonight.... I could however lock the door and leave the key in.... or lock the porch door and leave the front open so he would have to sleep in there....

NorthernLurker · 31/01/2008 20:12

Thanks for all the kind thoughts. I am trying to move forward with it - but it's weighing quite heavily on me at present. B and I have had a nice quiet day though - good nap this afternoon, weather vile here though! Right - got to help children off to bed and then I've got beef stew and jacket potatoes for tea!

But first - mammoth catch up:

SPB - B sits very still when watching In the Night Garden!
Elkie - have you tried using listen again on the bbc website? You need never miss Women's Hour again - even when you're back at work - I use it a lot. And re babies at baby groups - B pats the little ones on the head at ours - v nerve wracking!
Baby shoes - B has a couple of pairs of the Daisy Roots style (one pair with v cute zebra stripes!) I also got her some mini totes for Christmas which are very soft and cosy. We're still in 6-12 - but she is fairly small.
Dippy - poor you and dh - life can be jolly hard work at times can't it? Three things occured to me - is he getting enough sunlight? This is a rubbish time of year - you get up in the dark, work in artifical light all day and then come home - in the dark. This can have a very, very bad effect on some people. Secondly - does he need to eat more oily fish - it can help with concentration? Thirdly - what is his collar size and does he snore - sleep apnoea is more common in men I think and would certainly make him very tired - and the fatigue would affect concentration. As for when he's away - well it will be tough for you, no getting round that. I think the only thing to do is plan your days quite carefully so you know what you're doing when and try to get the kids in bed as early as you can get away with - although I know that can bring it's own problems. Here have a {{{hug}}}
GMM - poor you with the knee and as for your dp - sounds like he's being an arse.
Mammyjo - great to hear F was happy at nursery
SOL - what wonderful news about K's weight! All the best babies are on the 25th centile
AuntieMeemz - job thing sounds lousy - I have every sympathy!
POTC - sorr to hear about the colour-blindness - hope you find some encouraging things in your researches
Runny - Grrrrrrrh at your dh and is spending spree and Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrh at work. Now that is why you left - what a load of incompetent, couldn't-organise-a-celebratory-event-in-a-beer-producing-industrial-enviroment they are!
Oooggs - I got a tax rebate this month - was a nice surprise. Lol at ds1 free at any home I suppose you family are a live illustration of the fact that all babies develop differently - dd1 is obviously ready to sleep all night - ds2 isn't I guess. Is that any comfort to you?
Caz - Happy Anniversay! We hit 10 years last year - it's quite a milestone really isn't it? Hope the poor foal is ok.
Pesha - poor little D
Luce - see what I said above about all the best babies

elkiedee · 31/01/2008 20:13

Sorry gmm. Has he done this before?
