Ernie wears bobux or shooshoos to stop him slipping. SOme people buy clarks crawlers and then cruisers but they are a waste of money really. They don;t need proper shoes until they have been walking properly for about 6 weeks.

Octothechildherder · 30/01/2008 10:03

Daisy roots are the same thing Maveta

Octothechildherder · 30/01/2008 10:04

If you can't get them - I would post them out to you

AngeG · 30/01/2008 10:06

All the same type of thing Maveta. Can post you some if you can't get hold of them!

AngeG · 30/01/2008 10:06

Oh dear x posts again

Maveta · 30/01/2008 10:09

thanks guys! what size do you think? He seems to be approx a 19, so 6-12 or 12-18mths?? my sister is coming out on sat so maybe if I order something today and get it sent to her it will be in time for her to bring it out.

Think I'm going to tell dh to take the converse back. I feel bad because he was so pleased with himself but they also cost 35 EUROS!!!!

Octothechildherder · 30/01/2008 10:12

I missed the bit about converse LOL

You can buy them in John Lewis and most baby shops - would go for 12-18 now - ernies are a bit snug atm (6-12)

(((elbows AngeG out the way in rush for the post office)))

geordiemacminx · 30/01/2008 10:15

C has some of these kidding

I'm fine with shoes too - C has got a couple of soft pair of shoes and a pair of these, more for when we go out.. when he is crawling about he tends to be in socks.

AngeG · 30/01/2008 10:17

lol Octo

Izzy has a pair of 6-12 and 12-18. Would probably go for 12-18 tbh. Mothercare sell shooshoos, got a pair for Izzy in the sale for £6.50.

at 35 euros!!

Pesha · 30/01/2008 10:18

When I ordered D's shoes i got 6-12 and 12-18 to try and the 6-12 are fine with plenty of room. But I tried some 9 month ones in mothercare and couldnt get them on him Seems to vary quite alot which isnt much use really is it! But probably best to go for bigger rather than smaller. Although the ones I got were only £5.50 so doesnt really matter too much of they dont fit for long.

My bloody dishwasher isnt working I've only just got used to having it and I love it!!! I really dont want to go back to being without one It only cost £25 from dp's mate and if this goes I've not got the money to buy a new one. Poo.

AngeG · 30/01/2008 10:19

PMSL at those fetish shoes GMM

CaptainDippy · 30/01/2008 10:26

Daisy Roots / Bobeux / ShooShoos are great and perfectly adequate for a crawling / cruising baby - to keep their feet dry / clean, to help them grip the floor and to keep their socks on - Before crawling / crusing mine have always just had barefeet / tights / socks ...... HTH

Hello anyway! How are we all? I am ok, but a bit peeeeeeed off with my DH - he is soooo run down and stinky atm - Sorry if TIM, but he is - he stinks - his breath smells, he smells and he looks so worn out and tired all the time. I can't get him out of bed in the morning and he is soooo unhelpful and forgetful atm - My dad's coming down today and I told him to get girls car seats out of the car and pop them in the hallway before he left the house and he forgot - I do feel sorry for him, but at the same time I can't help thinking "pull yourself together FFS!!" Any advice people??????

Bramshott · 30/01/2008 10:29

Rushing by in between paying tax bill and trying to find more work as am soooo broke!

Shoes - O wears similar to the Daisy Roots ones which keep her feet warm, keep her socks on, and give her some sort of grip when she's trying to stand. Her feet come about half way down them though! One thing I have noticed with my NCT group (who are all first time mums) is that most of the other babies are in a variation of those "cruising shoes" from the shoe-shop - many, many more than 4 years ago when N was small. I can't help thinking that (a) it must be bloody expensive as they will grow out of them fast (b) is it good for their feet? (c) bloody shoe companies, convincing parents they need a product that's just really not necessary! Haven't said any of this though .

Take a look here www.bentworth.hants.sch.uk/3308-index/3308-news-2007-2008/3308-christmas-service.htm for a pic of N as Mary in her nativity play. Had deliberatly not posted a pic as there are loads of other kids in it, but seeing as the school has . . . !

Maveta · 30/01/2008 10:35

Cute pic Bramshott!

CD - is he ok? I mean, why is he like this, is it his physical health or do you think he's down?

Lucewits · 30/01/2008 10:41

Loved the photo Bramshott.

Maveta, 35 Euros , have you sorted yout trip to london? Hope that your boss was understanding.

CD, some TLC?

Lucewits · 30/01/2008 10:53

Maveta and Bramshot I meant to thankyou both for mentioning the tax forms. Have just reminded dh who hasn't does his yet.

I have got four very snotty/grumpy/hyperactive/sleepy pests children at home today. Lovely.

Really need to catch up on some housework but finding it difficult to do whilst dodging babywalkers, toys, poorly children. Looks like it will have to wait until tomorrow. Will go and make them some yummy soup for their lunch I think.

Weeonion, could I have some of recipes for your pancakes please?

runnyhabbit · 30/01/2008 10:57

Must get W some of those shoe type things.

Maveta - We can have a meet up in May (will be in Puerto Pollensa from 9th til 19th)

Am in work atm, so have to go now.

Only one more morning left......

ps - what time are we meeting on Sat?

Eddas · 30/01/2008 10:58

i am such an arse

got home from work last night and thought 'shit, i left the forms I need for tomorrow morning at work' So this morning I got up and ready super early. Drove to work and back, filled in form. Got dd to preschool on time. Went to appointment and the (insert own swear word) didn't even ask for the form so I rushed about like a prat, was miserable with self hatred all night(bit of an exaggeration) for nothing. Coz I have time to waste. Idiot

Have given myself a slap and some vitual chocolate, since i'm on a diet

On the up side it's my final day in work today before the tax return deadline so it will be more chilled out next week Maybe they'll even let me know where I will be on a permanent basis I can see those pigs whooshing about

runnyhabbit · 30/01/2008 10:59

ahem...(rh coughs nervously)....we bought J a pair of cruisers when he was 9mths old

In our defence, I am blaming pfb syndrome

W has NO shoes, and is very often sockless around the house, as he finds them rather tasty

CaptainDippy · 30/01/2008 11:33

Awwww, Eddas - poor thing, I would be - Blame the hormones!

He gets plenty of TLC, Luce - I just don't feel like I have anything more to give atm - I know that might sound pathetic; but I am really, really at the very end of my limitations - I am struggling so much and it is so to see him like this, but I honestly don't know what to fo about it - I am not Super Woman - I can' "fix" him - I can't drag him along at the same time as looking after 3 pre-schoolers and th other one hundred million other things I am trying to do - I have too many balls in the air and I just don't know what to do with DH. He is going on a course for 3 weeks starting at the end of Feb (DD1's B'day to be precise ) & I am awake most of the night worrying about it - I feel completely pathetic, but I honestly don't think I can cope for 3 weeks without him and then he has got another course a couple of weeks after tht for a week. I don't know what to do.

Sorry.

Lucewits · 30/01/2008 11:56

Not suggesting that he doesnt get any at all CD.
Sounds like you both need a bit extra at the moment. Any chance you two could have a cosy on the couch with dvd and yummy things for an evening?

As another mummy who has a few children and a dh who is away alot (especially at the moment ) I do understand.
I cope with these times by being Uber organised and freeing up some much needed adult 'down' time. When dh is going away I start making lists to make sure that all housework is done before he goes and that everything is sorted giving me the maximum free time when he is away.
No idea if that makes sense but hope it helps.

geordiemacminx · 30/01/2008 11:59
