Heehee thought I'd start the new thread. there seemed to be a recurring theme from everyone's recent posts - hence the title.

Hope everyone's well and that you found us without too much trouble

gingeme · 22/04/2008 10:58

Morning how is everyone?
Everyones well here.
Edwrad saying a few more words now though most things are stil dandad
Hes un doing his zips now too. I put his fleece on the other day all ready to go out and he undid the zip and took it off. Took three arrempts to get him to keep it on. He gets himself out of his sleeping bag now too. I thought ds3 had undone it for him but apparantly not.
George is doing well. He is rolling over now. Hes laughing all the time too. Or so it seems.
Hope you are all well.

EffiePerine · 23/04/2008 14:38

Hope everyone is well. Just found out that I'm pg again - early days yet . Am a little anxious at the thought of dealing with TWO of them!

We had a bit of scare with DS - he was admitted to hospital with suspected meningitis. Turned out to be a mystery virus and he's pretty much recovered now . He did not like being in the ward at all.

samsmam · 23/04/2008 18:38

Congrats EP. I was wondering who would be next. Glad DS is on the mend now.

gingeme · 23/04/2008 20:23

Yey EfiePerrin well done
How horrid for lo . Glad all is well now.
Hi Samsam hows things with your dd's? Any more pics? How are you coping now any better?
Wonder how Rumple is.
Were all ok here. Edward has a clump of blister like spots on his right thigh. Keeping a close eye on them as chicken pox is going round at the moment
George is just briliant. Hes rolling on to his front now and has a good look round. He sleeps from 7.30pm to 5am roughly. Much better than any of my other ds's at this age.
Well keep us posted on your progress EP

samsmam · 24/04/2008 08:04

New pictures on profile. Be back later.

babyducky · 24/04/2008 14:51

hi everyone, hope you're all ok

congratulations EP x

Rumpel- hows amber gettin on in her big bed?

samsmam- lovely new pics, has samanthas cold gone yet? Kais had a lot of colds lately, everytime he gets a new tooth he gets one!

how many teeth have all your LOs got now?
kai has got 12 & another two on the way i think.

love the pic of all your boys together gingeme, aw! x

gingeme · 24/04/2008 18:46

babyducky I value my fingers too much to attempt to count Edwards teeth but I think he has around 12 too.
Samsam its just amazing how your girls look so alike. So beautiful.
Eward has taken to biting David . If David takes a toy off him or doesn't let him play he bites him. I never know who to tell off first. Edwrad looks so sorry after hes done it though it melts my heart
Havn't thought about a big bed yet though it would just mean taking the side iff the cot bed. But he moves around so much Im afraid hell end up on the floor. I remember David the same and falling asleep in the middle of the bedroom.

samsmam · 25/04/2008 08:18

Hi all,
Samantha's cold has nearly gone- no more snot but really blocked, must be about the 5th week now.
She has 16 teeth, just the 4 big back ones (2 top and 2 bottom) to get. Probably another cold to go with that too!

Both DD's are getting along ok. Sophie sleeping from 9-7am. Think I have been blessed with another good night sleeper. [touch wood]

Just busily cutting out my Sun holiday tokens for my £15 holiday. Need to get away!

Rumpel- how are you, did you do your last essay on time?

Have a good weekend all, meant to be a sunny one.

RUMPEL · 28/04/2008 19:57

Hi All,

EFFIEPERRIN - huge congrats! Fingers crossed for you xxx When are you due?

I am a zombie - Amber has been awakening between 2am - 3am for the past 10 nights and not settling for ages as she has more teeth coming in. 12 at the mo' and more molars pinching.

Got my last essay completed today - need to hand it in tomorrow so hopefully will pass the 2 of them and then I can enjoy life for a while - thank God!!

Feeling pretty huge now - 12 weeks to go yet

Went to the Baby show in glasgow on Sat and bought loads of stuff. A P+T in Apple green.
It was great - loads of bargains.

Amber is now saying - bye bye, juice, shoes, bubbles, wee wee and trying to say bare bum and fat boy (cat) Bought her a horsey back pack today which is reins as she is so fast now and all that stooping kills your back!

She is very funny - picks up calculators/remote controls and talks into them as though she is on the telephone

We are off to Crieff Hydro this weekend for 3 nights - our holiday for the year. I have booked in for a pre-natal face and body treatment and Dh is having a back massage. Amber is going into the creche for an nour every day and we have booked a babysitter for Sat night so we can have our second meal since she was born just the 2 of us
I'm looking forward to taking her swimming as she hasn'[t been since Oct - they ahve closed the pool here and new one is opened until next year.

MY SIL is due this Sat.

Hope you are all well and newbies are settling in okay.

PL - not been on for a while wonder how Ferdie is?

xxxx

EffiePerine · 28/04/2008 20:02

Rumpel: due New Years Eve or thereabouts . A long long way away - only 5 weeks atm. DS also does the phone thing with bricks - he also walks round with his 'phone' jammed between his neck and ear going Ello Ello which cracks me up

DH has taught him to say 'trousers' and is v proud. It's funny cos his CM has a strong London/Essex accent so he comes out with all sorts of interesting vowels - before DH took him in hand it was trAHHzers. We get the occasional Oy Vey as well which he must be picking up from the neighbours

gingeme · 28/04/2008 20:48

Evening ladies. Your little ones are endearing. Edward is realy producing vowle sounds now. He went straight up to ds3's Bob rucksack today and said bop he currently has slapped cheek syndrome which I didnt even know he had until my sil told me my niece and nephew have it and told me the symptoms. ds5 has it too though he had the classic red cheeks. I thought Edward had chicken pox you see cause the rash is very similur. Anyway apparantly once the rash has appeared they are no longer contagious. That means we still have chicken pox to look forward to
Effieperrin hows the morning sickness?
Rumpel phew glad you can relax finaly and ejoy the end of your pregnancy.
Edward loces his reighns.Hes ok if you keep up with him and don't ug them but if you do he does a rag doll impression and flops about all over the place

babyducky · 28/04/2008 21:16

evening all,

wow very impressed with all ambers words rumpel!
Glad everythings ok.
Enjoy your holiday!

lol at trAHHzers! EP,
How are you feeling?

Gingeme- my nephew & niece just had that slapped cheeks thingy.

Kai has got an ear infection again, took him to docs today, I really hate my doc, He said kai was too skinny & he must have issues with food?!! I didnt even mention anything about food/weight he just came out with it!

Also i said about his crying/holding his breath thing when he sometimes passes out & he just told me to smack him whenever he starts being naughty then he will stop playing me up!
I said that sometimes he passes out for a few seconds & he said dont worry he'll wake up eventually!

I dunno why i didnt say anything to him really, I just wanted to get out of there, im cross with myself now though!

gingeme · 28/04/2008 22:12

Oh my God babyducky your gp sounds like a right pig can you change him?
How long has Kai been doing this? Sounds scary. Is it temper?

babyducky · 28/04/2008 23:51

hey gingeme, luckily i dont see that doc much, there is another doc i normally see who i really like so dont really wanna change.
We always joke that the one i saw today fancies dp, as he's always sooo nice to him & funny with me! He even mentioned dp today, Kai was crying(coz doc had just stuck something in his ear!) & he said 'i bet he doesnt behave like this for his father!'
Im gonna make sure i dont see him again!
Idiot!

Kai has been doing it for a few months i think, yeah he only does it if he gets really angry coz he doesnt get his own way, just does silent crying & holds his breath for ages, we have to blow in his face or throw water on him to snap him out of it but sometimes he does actually pass out for a few seconds, he goes all floppy.

Its really scary.

I was reading a thread on here about it a few weeks ago, & people were saying to get it checked out, seems quite common though.
Doc didnt seem bothered at all, i told health visitor before aswell & she said not to worry.
I dunno what to do really,
anyway better go to bed, night all zzzzz

gingeme · 30/04/2008 14:46

Kai is just lovely. He looks older than Edward somehow. Imagine the chaos if they met up? Not many of you on there though!
Hows he doing now?

babyducky · 30/04/2008 15:20

lol, i said to dp earlier that edward looked older than kai!

Whenever i see LOs his age i always think they seem older than him!

I know theres not many of me, its always me taking the photos!

Actually ive just booked kai a portrait session for next month Im gonna get them to do a couple of just me & him aswell.

He's ok, he hates his medicine though!

x

taffy101 · 30/04/2008 21:52

Congratulations EP,hope the next 8 months goes smoothly for you!

Rumpel - i am so glad you got your essays in!!

Cute montages (how do you have the time ladies?). George is soo cute (not allowed to be broody, am selling all my baby stuff!). Kai is very handsome and not too skinny (horrid dr prob used to seeing obese kids). He has the same mickey mouse slippers as owen!!

Owen is great at climbing. He can now get on the dining table (eek) and has discovered how to move smaller pieces of furniture in order to gain height and climb bigger pieces of furniture. He's fallen a few times but not learnt his lesson yet.
He is starting to say more words other than cat now, we sometimes get car now too! Of course he says dada too.

oh, babyducky, my nephew used to do that holding breath thing. He used to go blue round the mouth but never passed out. Hopefully it is a phase he'll grow out of. I guess he probably gets a great reaction from everyone when he does it, but I don't see how you can't react to it really. I expect blowing his face or putting water on him is probably the best thing to do.
Also can't believe the crappy dermatology opinion you got. Are you going to get a second opinion?
Re medicine, i hide owen's in his food. However, he's now gone off yoghurt after 6 months of it everyday with hidden medicine! I still get away with it in the weetabix though.

OP posts:
babyducky · 30/04/2008 23:39

Thanks taffy, yeah I dont think he's too skinny.

Kai loves his mickey mouse slippers!
He's obsessed with mickey mouse, watches it on disney channel every morning before breakfast, soon as he wakes up he says mi mi, thats what he calls it,

Yeah im hoping he will grow out of it, its so scary!

We are going to see a homeopath next week about his skin, see what they say.

I've had to hide his medicine in his yogurt & weetabix today, he didnt even notice luckily!

How is owen now?

Hows everyone else doing?

x

MsSparkle · 01/05/2008 12:36

Hi all, i had no idea this thread was here!

My little dd is napping at the moment. Is anyone thinking of potty training soon or is it still too early? I have MIL breathing down my neck telling me how her daughter (now 43) was potty trained by the age of 1!

gingeme · 01/05/2008 15:50

Hi Misssparkle and welcome. How old is your dc? All dc's are different in the way of potty training though I started all mine at about two years old. I do however let Edward have a bit of 'naked time' about 10 mons before bath time which is when I'm most thankful for having wooden flooring. Its a bit like having a puppy with little puddles everywhere.
Just one word of advice don't listen to anyone else only you know your child and their routine and what they eat etc. If you feel ready to give it a try do. If lo doesn't get on put the potty away till another time.
Hope that helps.

MsSparkle · 01/05/2008 20:02

My dd was born Oct 06 so she is coming up 19mths.

gingeme · 01/05/2008 20:26

Congratulations
Your first?
Are you going to give it a try?
Let us know how you get on if you do. Don't rush it though and if you have carpets buy some 1001 carpet trouble shooter and plenty of kitchen towel.

taffy101 · 02/05/2008 22:22

Welcome MsSparkle. Goodluck with potty training! I started my dd at 2 and she didn't take to it till she was 3!!! I think I will wait with ds till he asks, as i got sooo stressed over it all with dd. I too was envious of people telling me theirs did it at 1 year!

Babyducky, owen is doin fine. It is a year ago today since 'the accident'. The scar is not settling as quickly as they'd hoped and he's got an appointment in june with a technologist to see if they can get an impression of his arm and make an acrylic plate so we can get lots of compression on it. It sounds bad, but there are people with worse scenarios, eg I sometimes see a little boy in clinic with an acrylic face mask.
I thought I would be depressed today about it being the anniversary but i am feeling strangely optimistic cos at the time i didn't believe life would get back to normal and it has!
Good luck with the homeopath about kai's skin. Hope they are more help than the rubbishy dermatologist. Will the warmer weather help it do you think?

Its abit quiet on here lately. RL is too busy with our little ones. Especially those with more than one. I tend to go on here when DH is on night shifts (as now!)
