Hope everyone's well and that you found us without too much trouble

evening all,

welcome mssparkle.

taffy- glad owens doing ok, & Im glad you are feeling ok about it.

Yeah im hoping kai's skin will improve with the weather getting warmer, he had perfectly clear skin last summer so fingers crossed!

Im gonna slowly start potty training this week, Im not really expecting it to go well but thought i may as well try, He knows when he's pooed, he comes over to me & says 'bum' & starts to walk up the stairs!
Any advice taffy or gingeme or anyone else?

Hope you're all having a nice weekend,x

gingeme · 04/05/2008 21:46

No advice just be patient, lots and lots of praise when lo's successful but don't scold when theyre not. I think your all very brave. Im not planning on trying Edward till hes atleast 2.
Thats brill that Kai says bum after hes poohed though. Hes very early.
We went to a fair today and Edward had a go on a couple of rides with his big brother. He loved them. I had to go on the tea cups with them though and I felt just a bit dick and sizzy when I got off. The boys laughed all the way round though as did dh
Were off to London Zoo tommorrow as dh has the day off. Can't wait .
Have a goos one ladies and keep us posted

princessllama · 05/05/2008 14:46

hi it's me. only have a sec as hope is just waking up. just to say i'm still here even though never seem to have time to post have been reading. hi misssparkle. we're thinking about potty training. my life seems to be all about poo right now! and breastfeeding. oh, and balamory...
congrats effiep.
lots of love to you all. will try later!

gingeme · 06/05/2008 12:15

Afternoon ladies. What a lovely day today.
We took Edwards side off his cotbed this morning and put the safety guard on. He took himself off to bed at 10.45 and fell asleep in about 2 minutes .
We went to London Zoo yesterday. The boys absolutely loved it. Edwrad was allowed to run free round most of the zoo which he thought was great fun and he didn't get lost! Totaly knackered and filthy by the end of the day and fast asleep on the way home
Hope evryone else is ok and the pregnant ladies arent suffering too much in the heat.
Take care all xxx

babyducky · 06/05/2008 13:49

nice to hear from u pl,
got any new pics?

thanks gingeme, havent started yet, gotta get a potty still! Or 2? One upstairs, one downstairs?

Not sure where to start with it really, might get a book, Ive asked my mum & she cant remember anything from when us lot were potty trained but said we were all completely dry by 18 months/2 at the oldest!

How come people did it so much earlier years ago?

oooh i love london zoo, gonna take kai soon.
Glad the boys enjoyed it.

Just having a nice break from the sun, got a bit sunburnt yesterday,

We are off to the park to play football when kai finally wakes up!
He's been a lot more tired the last few days since its been sunny.

RUMPEL · 06/05/2008 15:41

Hi All,

Welcome SPARKLE

We have just had a few nights at Crieff Hydro - I had a pre-natal massage and a reflexology - very nice DH had a coupld of back/shoulder massages - I used to give him treatments regularly but he has been neglected over the past couple of years.

Was absolute torture trying to sleep with Amber in a cot (too small for her) and Dh in the room - SNORING!! So was exhausted by the time we got home yesterday. Was great to see amber in the pool though - she loves swimming and theyc losed the pool here - new one isn't opned unitl next year. Anyway that was our hol' for the year.

Beautiful weather so been washing like mad since we got back as my tumble drier is knackered. Washed all my new nappies and boosters and finally put Amber back into resusables today -thought it would help with the potty training and much better for her bum. Have been using enviro disposables for the last 6 months due to pukiness!

I thought I would buy her wee pants and let her run around in teh garden in the summer so it might help her to potty train. She sits on the potty when I go for a wee and before her bath but has only done a wee in it once and a poo once. I am going to makea concerted effort to try to train her now though.

TAFFY - thanks for the essay comment - I just hope I pass now or I will be devestated Can't beleive it has been a year since Owen's mishap. Have you treid massaging in vit e oil? You could go see an aromatherapist and get them to mix up some oils for you. lavender, rose and petitgrain are good for skin renewal.

My SIL had a wee girl last Wed - Katie.

10 weeks to go for me - don't htink this wee one is going to wait that long though. I have terrible braxton hicks this time and I just have a feeling I am going to go early - this one is forever whacking me and making my whole body jump!

Anyway must go as loads to do.

Take care allxxxxxxx

hi,

blimey its been quiet on here, bet everyone is out enjoyong the sunshine!

lovely montage taffy, they are both so gorgeous!
How old is your dd?

I looked at the wedding montage(sorry im nosey!)

Is that the wedding you were telling us about?
Your sisters wasnt it?

glad you enjoyed your holiday rumpel, the treatments sound lovely.

Are you a beauty therapist then?

Have got a potty now & a book, he has been sitting on it before his bath, hasnt done anything in it yet, he prefers to wee up the side of the bath!
Not putting him in pants yet, just getting him used to the potty at the mo, & teaching him how to pull his trousers up & down.

What have all your LOs been wearing in bed?
Kai's room has been 28 last few nights, he's just been wearing a vest & nappy But he keeps waking up boiling hot & sweaty!

Also how much are they drinking?
he's been having 2 or 3 quite big cups of water & a cup of juice in the morning with breakfast.

Does that seem enough?

x

gingeme · 12/05/2008 11:55

Hi everyone
Yes it is quiet here just lately.
Hi babyducky potty training already your brave! Your lucky he drinks water Edward wont touch it except to bath in he'll have juice though. I put a cup in nis cot for the morning then hell have a cup with his breakfast then just generaly through the day and a cup with his dinner. He started saying 'pooh' so I thought he was indicating he was doing/had done a pooh but then he saw a picture of Winnie pooh and he pointed and said 'pooh, winnie pooh,. I was so impressed with him He also pointed to a picture of a ball and says 'ball, ball'.
Hes realy coming along now.
Lovely montage taffy. I love doing them when the boys get bigger and do more.
Well sorry this is short but were off to the docs with George now. His BCG site still hasn't settled after all this time.
Take care everyone. xxx

RUMPEL · 13/05/2008 20:09

Hi All,

Been busy as per usual. Amber has had the cold = no sleep = me getting the cold = more no sleep .

My Bro and neice came through Fri then we had visitors for dinner Sat so spent all day yesterday cleaning the house and felt awful today - so sore. I am getting loads of sore braxton hicks with this one - I am sure I am not going to make it full term - I feel huge and am thinking 37 - 38 weesk this time - we'll see . Not seeing the MW again until next week (31wks) and haven't seen one since 16 weeks! I'll be glad to know that Lo is round the right way etc.

BABYDUCKY - yep I am a complememntary and beauty therapist. I had my own place for 9 years before I started teaching at college. I am still waiting on my final 2 essay results for Uni to see if I have finally got my BATQFE after 3 long long long years!!

I bought Amber proper pants today to let her wear them in the garden and teach her how to pull em up and down. She managed a poo in the potty the other day but I figure over the summer is the best time then if she has accidents they can water the grass .

How are you EFFIPERRINE? PRINCESS - you too?
How is wee Sophie SAMSMAM and how are you TAFFY? Hardly any of us on here now! There are 78 on my July thread now!!! Takes you blooming ages to catch up if you have missed even one day!

Hope you are all well and George is okay GINGEME - do you need a BCG 'cos you love in London? You don't get them up here anymore.
xxxx

PS Haven't checked out anyone's montages for ages - sorry am just so busy just now!

Seona1973 · 16/05/2008 20:18

Hi I have just found this thread. I have a dd Emma who is 4 1/2 and ds Ewan who is my October baby (born on the 1st). He is very mobile but not much of a speaker yet, unlike dd, but I am not worried as he is trying to say things but it doesnt come out quite right. He is a heavy drinker (just water, juice, milk, etc...lol) but it means I have to change him at least every 2 1/2 to 3 hours or he leaks everywhere!! DD is the opposite and I have to practically force a drink down her so she gets enough.

Have any of yours turned into fussy eaters? DS avoids veg like anything but will eat fruit till it comes out his ears. If he doesnt want whats on his plate he just pushes it away.

Hope to speak to some of you soon. Seona x

babyducky · 16/05/2008 22:11

evening all,
just a quick hello

rumpel- not long left for you now!
Has the sickness finally stopped?

good luck for your essay results.

hey seona, im sure you were on our antenatal thread??? Or am i thinking of someone else?

My LO has started to get a lot more fussy with his food lately, still pretty good, but quite often refuses to try something new, just pushes it away if he doesnt recognise it!
Luckily though he loves fruit & veg, & his fave food is pasta, he loves it, so I can hide most things in that & he normally eats it.

RUMPEL · 17/05/2008 16:01

Hi All - whoopee!! got a B+ for my first essay - best mark I've received this course cannot quite believe it as I found it such a struggle.

Hi SEONA - welcome.

Amber has started becoming more 'selective' where food is concerned - she has very sweet tooth and turns her nose up at fruit now - but she still eats veg with things. She adores cake, bread, doughy things - no idea where she gets it from

Am very tired now have over done it this week - bought the rest of the stuff needed for hospital bag, took DD to garden centre, been gardening this am then Dh got baby stuff out of loft - huge pile of unisex stuff to wash now. Was looking at Amber's teeny weeny clothes form when she was newborn. She is a huge MONSTER now

My bump is aching and terrible BH - did you get them more with each pg Samsmam and Ginegeme and PL and Taffy?

Must go as stuff to do - as usual. Take care allxxx

Seona1973 · 17/05/2008 19:55

Babyducky - yes I was on the antenatal thread and I remember talking about whether raspberry leaf tea woild help in labour (never made a difference in the end though and my second labour was longer than my first due to ds being back to back)

Rumpel - when are you due? (I gather it is quite soon) I remember sorting out unisex clothes for ds and they do look sooo tiny I never got braxton hicks with either pregnancy (or if I did I didnt notice them).

Ewan has started following me to the toilet now and sits down on the little stool at the sink and then tries to wipe his bum with a bit of toilet roll (still has nappy and trousers on!!) before putting it in the toilet - looks so cute and I suppose it means he is learning what the toilet is for.

nicand2 · 18/05/2008 21:41

Hi all, I seem to have some rare time on my hands so I've been browsing mumsnet and thought I'd look in on you all. Toby is nearly 18 months now - he is EXTREMELY strong willed and having some almighty tantrums already. He has quite a few words and is really making himself understood now - even if most of it is 'No' with lots of head shaking! He is also a 'cleaner' and already has 2 toy hoovers (his pride and joy) he is never happier than when he's following me with a hoover or wiping down a table!
Found some old video of him as a baby today whilst adding a recent holiday to the disc, it brough a tear to my eye to think how quickly the time has gone.

Hope everyone is well and enjoying their families.

gingeme · 18/05/2008 22:15

Evening ladies and hello again seona
nicand2 I found an old video of Edward just walking the other day. He looks like a little old drunk and one in his door bouncy thing which ds5 now goes in and loves it. Yes must admit it did bring a tear to my eyes too.
Oh Rumple well done on your result. Now you can relax a bit and look forward to your new arrival. Hows Amber taking it all in?
Edward has had a very high temp over the weekend. Much better now though but he has conjunctivitis so Im ringing the docs first thing in the morning.
He too loves cleaning though more traditionaly with my dust pan and brush. Trouble he sweeps everything including George
Well I hope everyone else is keeping ok. Take care all xx

RUMPEL · 19/05/2008 21:09

HI All,

Nice to hear form you NIC.

1 result still to go GINGEME! before I can relax. I keep telling Amber I have a baby in my tum but she prob is a bit yung to understand. She just likes to dig her elbows in or bounce on me like she does her Dad - arggg!

Amber loves the brush and pan too, and cleans everything with a cloth ( I use cloths to wash her face and hands). She also likes to copy me in the garden and digs, waters etc with her own gardening equipment. Funnily enough I was looking at footage of Amber today too - I was recording her in the garden on her trampoline and looked at the stuff of her when she was teeny - so cute - so big ba' heeded!!

I have the MW tomorrow so we'll see how this littly is doing. DH is way for a few days so on me tod. I am waiting for the plumber/tiler to get back to me as he is supposed to be fitting a shower above the bath - I am in severe danger of getting wedged in the shower door now!! Blooming tradesmen!!

Take care allxxx

taffy101 · 19/05/2008 21:25

Welcome back nic!

Congrats on your B+ rumpel! Good luck with the other one too.
I had no B+H with either pregnancy - i feel sorry for you having them all the time. Roll on July hey.

Owen is fussy with his food now too. He used to eat his sister's left overs but since easter he has discovered the nicer things in life (eg choc) he still likes fruit tho and he has learnt a new word and constantly shouts 'bic bic' at me when I'm trying to cook dinner!!

Babyducky - it is my sister's wedding on the montage page (hope you noted the groovy cake what I made)

Samsmam must be v. busy - not been on here for a while.

Hope you get your shower soon rumpel

OP posts:
gingeme · 19/05/2008 22:35

Evening ladies.
Got a poorly Edward here at the moment. He has conjunctivitis. Took him to the docs today and hes got cream. Hes been such an angel letting me put it on
We have started George on solids now and Edward hovers around to finnish whatever George leaves. Funny thing is he never liked baby food once it started getting bits in it.
Hes waving bye bye now too and giving big open mouth kisses which are pretty sloppy . The only word he dosn't seem to say is Mummy. Not sure why.
I got the door bouncy thing out the shed the other day for George and remember Edward bouncing around in it. Only seems like five minutes ago
Well Im off to bed now.
Take care all xx

samsmam · 20/05/2008 14:09

Hi all, taffy you are dead right. I just want to scream...... just found a few minutes to read thru all posts. Been suffering her with both girls being porrly with coughs, colds and whatever else. Finally today the doctor has given both girls antibiotics at the same time as they just keep passing it backwards and forwards.
Sam has had tonsillitus now 4 times in 8 months so one more then I shall start the demanding!

Rumpel July will soon come round. Ah I'll get all broody if you post pics!

We are hoping to get away to a haven caravan park with both girls at the end of June- should be exciting- or interesting the word methinks.

Think I read EP was pregant again? Congrats I may have already said that but my mind is a bit scrambled.

Have posted a recent pic of the two girls together on my profile- taken yesterday.

RUMPEL · 20/05/2008 20:24

SAMSMAM - they sure do look like each other don't they? wee cuties with big sad eyes - is that you or your DH they look like?
Take Sam to a homepath for her tonsills - did wonders for mine.

Amber looks like her Daddy but is a mini-me personlaity wise. Wonder what this liitly willl be like

Poor Edward GINGEME - hope he is better soon.

Had MW today - my blood wouldn't come out - she had to do the other arm as well - it was juts trickling! Bizarre. Anwya baby has head down but body diagonal - can feel it anyway - very uncomfy and hard to breathe. Heartbeat was strong and LOUD!! Sounded really different form Ambers - much slower.
I really wanted a waterbirth with Amber so was asking today - they have just installed a pool here but it is first come first serve so I think I am going to buy one anyway - as this will be the last baby we have and I would love a waterbirth is at all possible.

Also asked about the syntometrine - last time it made me puke and puke but she said as I had to have a manual removal of placenta last time they would want me to have help this time - I can try syntocinon.
Also I can get out in under 6 hours if all is well - I soo do not want to have to stay in!!

TAFFTAFF - Amber is a cake fiend! Anything doughy - bread, scones etc. She is good at eating veg though - I always make it teeny for her. She is a total carnivore too - loves meat!

Take care allxxx

RUMPEL · 22/05/2008 20:52

Hi girls - just to share my good news with you - I have now finished Uni - Got a B for my last essay and I am now the proud owner of a Bachelor of Art in Tertiary Education in Further Education. After 3 long and arduous years - what a relief! Not that I will be going to the graduation ball.

I managed to trip over the cat beds today and landed with a great big bump on my arse - DH found me crying like a big pathetic doughball - I am soo emotional this pregnancy. I don't know if it is because I have been having 'therpay' which is helping me to release negative emotions or if it just because I am a bit pathetic

Anyway I managed to twist my foot, the same one which I ripped the big toe nail off of when I was vomiting - caught it on the bathroom tile floor, then I whacked it into the sofa and my toes are still stiff form that and now this! I've managed to tweak my groin ligament too - feeling very sorry for myself>

Never mind...

TAFFY - sorry pregnant brain - there is a TAFFtaff on my July thread! How are your eyes now - the skin problem you had?

Take care all

PL - hope you are okay.

gingeme · 22/05/2008 22:12

Oh Rumpe; your not having a very good time of it are you? Well done on your results though. I take my hat off to you having a lo and being pregnant and doing exams. It takes all my brain power just to remember where I left my keys the last time I used them
Samsam Ive said it before and Ill say it again your girls are just lovely.
All is well here. Ds3 did his first ever assembly this morning [proud Mummy emoticon] the class sung Wheels on the bus, Twinkle twinkle and Wind the bobbin up. It was soooo sweet
Got a busy weekend coming up as DH has his long weekend off work. Going to a theme park for little kids on Saturday near Milton Keynes. Swimming Sunday and to a farm on Monday. Phew gonna be exhausting but goood fun.
Hope your all well.
EffiePerrin hows things?
Take care ladies xx

RUMPEL · 23/05/2008 16:20

GINGEME - have a fun filled weekend with all your boys - hope Edward is better now. Does it not make you fill up watching them in assembly and at plays etc? Amber adores musci and dancing and I just keep thinking when I watch Britain's got talent - that 1 day she will be like 1 of the wee dancers you see!

gingeme · 23/05/2008 20:48

Oh definately Rumpel. It reminds me that I was doing the same thing with ds1 10 years ago too .
