Heehee thought I'd start the new thread. there seemed to be a recurring theme from everyone's recent posts - hence the title.

Hope everyone's well and that you found us without too much trouble

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
RUMPEL · 27/05/2008 15:31

Is anyone else's DC wakening up through the night all the time? Amber is a total nightmare just now - she keeps wakening up through the night and taking ages to settle agin - I am sooooo TIRED. Don't know what to do with her. She is fine at the moment so it isn't teeth or anything. I don't know if maybe it is a habit now? I usually bring her into bed for a small cuddle and put her back into her own bed but she wakens up again and cries etc.

I look like the living dead just now!

Hope you are all well.
Getting all prepared for LO arrival - washing clothes, ordered birth pool etc.
One of the July Mummies had her bubba on Sunday [shock. He is well though and a very healthy 5lb8ozs!

Take care allxxx
Must go as Amber stinks!!

EffiePerine · 27/05/2008 15:33

Not waking in the night, but DS is waking at 5am (or earlier) EVERY morning at the moment. He's a bit chompy too so might be teeth. Or general bloody-mindedness. I need more sleep!

RUMPEL · 27/05/2008 15:34

I have just hijacked the last thread you were on to see how you are EFFIEPERRINE!

samsmam · 28/05/2008 13:21

Hi all,
Samantha has started being unsettled at night, last night she woke at midnight and then 3.30am. Ended up taking her downstairs for some calpol abnd water. Ends up sleeping in our bed- is what I definitely don't want!! And the night befire she woke at 4.30am. Perhaps it is their age.

Finding it tough at the moment- DP and I have had food poisoning, not sure how you are supposed to be ill when you are a parent tried to explain to DP that you just have to get on with it as the children need us. Men- I'm sure he would have just gone to bed and left me to it!

Rumpel- not long now- how exciting, I'll be getting all broody again!

majormoo · 28/05/2008 19:10

hello thought I would say a quick hello as thought of you as I am on the same antenatal thread as EffinePerrine.

Hope you are all well, especially those pregnant or with new babies

DS is a real early riser too which drives me mad. Tends to wake in the night if he kicks his duvet off but settles once I tuck him in. I am sure DD was sleeping til at least 7am by the this age so not impressed with the early mornings.

babyducky · 29/05/2008 11:06

hey everyone,

hello again majormoo and nicand2

well done rumpel!

yes taffy i did notice the cake, looked brilliant!

Kai has started waking up in the night aswell, must be an age thing!

He normally wakes up around 2, sometimes i sit in there for a while trying to settle him back to sleep, but it takes about an hour for him to go back to sleep so i mostly just put him in bed with us & he goes straight back to sleep! Must stop doing that though! Im too lazy!

samsmam- how are you all?
sorry to hear about the food poisoning.
Men eh?
Your dp sounds just like mine!

be back later to catch up properly,
x

RUMPEL · 29/05/2008 13:56

Hi MAJORMOO - conratulations - it is really nice the 2 of you being on the same ante-natla thread again

gingeme · 29/05/2008 21:39

Hey what have I missed ?
Hi everyone
Sorry to hear about the wakeings. Not nice. None here just snot and eye gunk and dribble Edward looks like someone has thrown a bucket of slime over his face in the morning.
He has learnt a new word 'Pooh' but he uses it for the right thing and tells us when he has done one. Bit early to be getting the potty out just yet though. He is now trying to do Walking Round The Garden with George and finds it wonderful when George gives him a big smile
How are you newly pregnant ladies finding it second time around? Hows the sickness?
Samsam you and your broodiness. I know mine has completely gone now. I see pregnant women I just think 'couldn't be doing that again'. Well I couldn't anyway as Dh has got the official letter that he is now a jaffa
Ooh getting exciting now Rumple. A water birth? How wonderful. I loved mine with ds3 soooo relaxing. Shame I didn't quite make one with George but never mind.
Well thats all from me folks
Take care all xxxx

babyducky · 02/06/2008 14:16

Ive finally booked my driving lessons again, start on thur, im really nervous!

Nothing much happening here really, Kai is getting very very cheeky!

He wont go in his highchair anymore, have had to put a booster kind of seat thing up at the table, he likes it much better! Think he feels grown up!

Hope everyone is ok, x

wuzzlefraggle · 02/06/2008 15:36

Kai will be 19 months tomorrow! Gone so quick!

Oooh lucky you, a holiday! I need one!
Bet anna will enjoy it!

What words can she say now?

x

wuzzlefraggle · 02/06/2008 22:01

Hiya babyducky!

To be honest, I don't really know what I've been up to lol. Still a SAHM and loving it You?

As for the words she can say...there are LOADS...duck, rabbit, cat, pig, horse, moo, daddy, mummy, baba, anna, pat, hat, ed, turkish (the cats names lol), drink, food, ta, bye, gone, birdy, bubble, please, beets (beetroot lol), shoes, bath, hot, cold, bum, poo (lol), wee wee, car, bin, milk, hat, tree, foot, garden, yes, no etc etc I'm probably boring everyone now, if I tried to list every word i'd be here for aaaages, so I'll stop here lol she's really clear too!

how about kai?

for certain words she does actions too, like if you say flower, she sniffs etc. so cute!

babyducky · 03/06/2008 07:47

hey,

Yep still a SAHM,loving it too, still busy with wedding plans aswell, lol.

God she can say a lot!

Kai can say a few things not that much, just mum dad nan grandad etc. Kai, bum, Emma(my sis) pepper, his new one is umber(cucumber!) book, bath, Um cant think of any more!

He Can do quite a few animal noises & actions, his fave is pig! & he thinks all birds are seaguls(we have a lot of them round here) Whenever he sees a bird he does a really funny sound like a seagul!

Do u have any pics of her? (nosey!)

Are u on facebook? (nosey again!)

wuzzlefraggle · 03/06/2008 09:48

sorry, not on face book...I have pics but I cant work this pic adding thing for the life of me lol.

Yeah, she can say loads lol, I really would be here for about an hour on the one post if I tried to list every single word she can say.

Ahh, the animal noises sound so sweet!
It tickles me pink when anna does those too!

OOOH, whens the date been set for?? I bet your really excited!!

FOrgot to post, if anyone has ANY tips for taking a little one abroad for the first time - I'd be grateful lol

babyducky · 03/06/2008 10:41

its 9th may 09, yeah cant wait!

sorry no advice really, we havent been brave enough to take kai abroad yet!

He doesnt sit still for more than about half hour so cant imagine taking him on a plane!

Hopefully anna is good at sitting still!

I guess just take lots for her to do!
Books & little toys & maybe a portable dvd player???

Once you actually there i'm sure it'll be fine, i reckon the journey would be the worst bit.

x

wuzzlefraggle · 03/06/2008 12:29

hehe, congrats!!

in fairness to her, she behaves brilliantly, so I'm not too worried about that part of things...we have an early morning flight (departing at 7:15, but we have to leave the house before 4am lol eeek!) so there is a good chance she'll be too sleepy to want to wander lol I'm trying to stay optimistic and the plus is that its only a 2 1/2 hour flight.

I'm more nervous about it scaring her than anything else...sorry I'm rambeling

RUMPEL · 03/06/2008 20:21

Hi All,

Hi again WUZZ am v impressed with Anna's vocabulary - you must be a chatterbox! Have a fab holiday.

Babyducky - how is Kai's skin these days? How are your wedding preps going?

GINGEME - hope Edward is better and life is good.

SAMSMAM and PL - how are your newbies doing?

TAFFY - what you been up to?

Majormoo AND EFFIE - how are the pg going?

I am busy as per - my folks are coming tomorrow for 1 night am so looking forward to seeing them. Mum hasn't seen Amber since Jan so she will see a huge difference - she is running about mad now and into everything argggg! They are coming back for a few days on the 21st June so I have decided that would be a good time to pop Am so fed up now - huge, sore, waddling, tired, anaemic and generally pissed off. Very hard to look after A properly when you are so heavy - don't know how you managed with so many GINGEME!

Take care allxxx

babyducky · 04/06/2008 09:14

well if she's well behaved i'm sure it'll be fine.

I bet she wont be scared either!

Have a lovely time

hey rumpel,

Kai's skin is perfectly clear at the mo, has been for a few weeks.

Had a consultation with homeopath, but at the mo we are not using anything at all on it. Too scared too in case it flares up again! If it does we def gonna take him back to her, not gonna bother taking him to dr again.

Fingers crossed it stays like this!

Wedding stuff ok, its going too quick now though, Ive still got waaaaay to much weight to lose by then!

We have started paying everything off now, paid all the deposits ages ago. Everything is sooo expensive.

We are sorting out the honeymoon next month, cant decide where to go yet!
We are thinking of paris. (well thats dp's choice)
I'd rather go somewhere hot though, we shall see.

How long have you got left now?

Have a nice time with your parents,

Where is everyone else?

Im off for a run now, am doing race for life on 15th, need to start getting ready for it.

xxx

wuzzlefraggle · 04/06/2008 09:33

Hiya Rumple lol yes, some might call me a chatter box she likes being read to A LOT too.

Wow, I take it that your pregnant then rumple?? COngrats!!!!!

Thanks for the well wishes for holiday...I'll see you all again on the 12th June Byee for a week ladies and wish my nerves away lol

gingeme · 05/06/2008 13:58

Hey wuzzle hey? hey? wuzzle? Don't go ha ha not realy. Have a great time.
Hows everyone else doing?
Just having a think about our 18/19 month olds who will soon be 24 months old. Anyone fancy arranging a meet up nearer the time for their birthdays? I was looking at a 'thread I was watching' yesterday and it was one of our old pre natal threads we must have all been newly pregnant because alot of us were feeling sick and going for first time scans. Seems like an age away doesn't it?
wow babyducky what a little chatterbox you have there! Thats just brilliant
Edward is saying a bit more now his new word is 'no'
Is anyone thinking or in the throws of potty training yet?
Im thinking of trying next month as Edward now tells us when hes had a pooh so I usualy use that as a sign as its ready.
All else is well here. George is enjoying his solids. Hes pretty vocal now too. Its lovely when he squeals when he sees his older brothers having a game of booh! Brilliant.
Well have athink about the meet up. Got a while yet I know but it might be worth it.
Take care everyone. xxxx

taffy101 · 05/06/2008 21:43

Hey, ginge I am not attempting potty yet, but sounds like edward might take to it if he's telling you when he's pooed. I hope Owen is quick to learn. He doesn't have poohs, he has explosions (always has)!

Well I was brave last weekend and went camping in the peak district. I had never done that before! It was great fun and the kids had a ball, i just had to not look in any mirrors at my hair all weekend!

Owen is starting to say more words (not as many as anna though - i think girls are more talkative) - still won't say mummy though .

DD is 5 in july and we've booked to go and see lion king at the lyceum. DD is crazy about simba, she will go nuts when we tell her about it. I also bought her a simba outfit on ebay the other day. I also can't wait to see the show - really excited

OP posts:
majormoo · 07/06/2008 16:33

hello again
Taffy camping is brave with a toddler. We went when DS was crawling but would be scared now he would run off. Glad you enjoyed it

Paris would be romantic BabyDucky (well, unless the whole family are going on the honeymoon-although am sure you could still squeeze some romance in!)
Rumpel when is your baby due?
gingeme-we aren't anywhere near potty training.
Wuzzle have a lovely holiday. Hope the weather is good.

I had my nuchal last week and all fine so that is a relief. When I had DD and DS I was working (although part time with DS). Have actually found being at home now full time and in the early weeks of pregnancy much more difficult than being in the office. Need to get tougher on DS about picking him up as my back is already aching. How did you lot cope with younger babies and pregnancies!

RUMPEL · 07/06/2008 20:42

Hi All,

Baby is due 20th July but I reckon I will go earlier - I am sooo huge and uncomfy now and I felt bubba drop down today - after hours or rumbling around and rotating - head is far down now and bum is mid belly - I have a huge blue vein on the right hand side of my tum (although I am translucently pale). I am fingers x that he/she will make an appearnce next time my parents are here - 22nd June. It is my birthday on the 24th - 36 so Dh took me out to buy ne some shoes for post baby:

www.schuhstore.co.uk/zoom.asp?i_code=1100235020&name=MAXA

and

www.schuhstore.co.uk/zoom2.asp?i_code=www.schuhstore.co.uk/images/product/1100303020ex_lg.jpg

I haven't worn heels for sooo long now but I love these I am going to get the pink ones at some point too.

Amber is chattering away to herself now but only says Mummy when upset! Her new word is door I am trying to teach her the L sound at the mo'. la, la, la etc.

MAJORMOO - glad your scan wnet well. Yes it is knackering looking after a littly and being pg - you just need to lower your standards

I have started feeling puky again in the morning now

SAMSMAM - how are you?

BABYDUCKY - Paris is nice but I can think of nicer cities - depends what you like.

EFFIE - how are you?

GINGEME - attempting (badly0 potty training. Bought her teeny weeny pants and let her wear them in the garden or go bare bum, with potty on stand by. So far we have had 2 poos in the potty, 1 on the kitchen floor , and a pee tonight on the highchair - onto the kitchen floor so it's going really well

I was potty trained when I was 1 Most of us 70's babies were 18 months when potty trained - now it is 3 years!! Bit of a difference.

Well must go relax - take care allxxx

gingeme · 07/06/2008 23:13

Love those shoes Rumple. You go girl Ooh sounds like bubs is nearly cooked. Its so exciting.
Think well be putting the poty training on hold for a while. Edward has a very red raw bum at the moment and every nappy seems to be a smelly one so this morning I decided to let him go nappyless for a while before we got ready to go out. We were all busy doing different stuff when I heard dh say 'er Edwards got s**t on his feet!'. I came in the front room to see dh swiflty taking Edward into the bathroom for a shower.I had noticed smelly brown foot prints leadin into our room. I thought 'oh no the cots in there'. Followed them into our room to find pooh on the floor on my side of the bed with hand prints in that had been swirled around quite a bit. Tankfully none anywhere else ie the cot or our bed. So while dh showered him I wiped and mopped our room. Phew! What a start to the day
Apart from that we are all well here.
George is getting big now. Can't believe hes 5 months old on the 10th wheres the time gone. Seems like only yesterday I was squeezing him out in the bathroom
Ah well hope you are all well.
Take care all.
Any thoughts on that meet up?
samsam would be lovely to meet Sophie. Maybe we could have it at my house?

samsmam · 09/06/2008 06:43

Hi all
I am ok- DP proposed to me on Friday night and of course I said yes! we were out for my birthday meal. Want to get married as soon as possible..... watch this space!

I got an interview next monday for a healthcare assistant on the maternity wards at my local hospital. I think I'll either love it or hate it! Hope it doesn't make me broody again- I am hoping it will put me off!
No more children unti I am a married lady!

Gingeme- meeting at a house would be much better for me controlling these two on my own is difficult. Sam just won't sit still even at a table now! How easy is it to drive to you?

Rumpel- I'm very excited to find out what you are having. Take care and try and rest in these last few weeks. I know, I know.....

Its my birthday today 31!! Wonder what the day will hold for me!

A lovely sunny day- hope everyone else is ok xx
