ooh aah a little bit more ..............

Are they/Aren't they?
Dippy
Pinions

Work
Pinions has issues with her return to work and her hours are yet to be finalised
Octo made the decision to go back to teaching, as a supply teacher for now
mammyjo was messed around by payroll and overpaid
crossover of uk/spanish public holidays caused problems for Maveta
weeonion is also struggling with issues surrounding her return to work

Babies
Talk about talking
weeonion's C has her first tooth
WCL is tearing her hair out as L is quite literally everywhere
wanky loon HV giving Pesha hassle over D's weight

Everything Else
Eddas made her Buggy Snuggle and it looks fab!
Caz has been asked to talk to teenagers about being a young mum
Oooggs has worries about a planning application right next to Nursery
GMM will be running for DEBRA
Maveta needs to chose a Nursery but with ratios of 1:8 it won't be easy
Maveta is also struggling with other aspects of the Spanish way of life, namely MIL
Hotlipsmummy rejoined the group after being with us during pregnancy, and promptly changed her name to 2hotcrossbunnies in preparation for Easter
Pinions had an op to remove some gremlin moles but is recovering well
Pinions brother has written a rather interesting book (that's the brother that doesn't star in random tv ads )
phdlife popped in to say hi
Pesha went to a party in her wellies and came home very drunk ""maybe a tiddly bit tiddly" by 10pm
Maveta has a new hairdo
Dippy will jump into bed with anyone that offers her a Kinder Egg
Pinions can knit
GMM has her notallowedtotellyou pierced
mj and oooggs had lovely girlie nights out with friends, while SOL took dh with her when she ventured out
GMM has bought a new pushchair
Dippy has stickykeys
KHIN needs (((hugs)))

Meet Ups
We were thinking of multiple meet-ups on same day in May to celebrate birthdays????
NEED TO PROGRESS THIS
Ellie wants to come to Scotland on Feb 15th if they'll have her???

Funny stuff
It was decided that MN is constructive
SPB asked "does it get easier as they get older?" (still pmsl at that one )

Also worthy of note
Octo had more wine leading to this quote -
"Fuck it, bugger working and going to supply and have 4 more children ..."

There were excellent language skills on display in the Liath household .....
"A recent conversation at my sister's house went thus:
Dd - I'm going to bugger off the cat, Mummy.
Me - I beg your pardon?
Dd - I'M GOING TO BUGGER OFF THE CAT MUMMY!
Me -
Dd - Bugger off cat!!
Cat -
I must stop using foul language"

A collaberation between Mr Dippy and NL came up with this new 'lullaby'.....
"Some naughty children didn't go to bed,
Along came a goblin and chopped off their heads.
Their poor parents started to weep,
Because the naughty children wouldn't go to sleep!"
"The naughty children bewailed their fate
But alas and alack it was all too late
The Goblin scarpered, quick as could be
So listen MY naughty children, go to sleep for ME!"

Pesha (or should that be Peesha ) got fed up of not being able to say her own name correctly and has changed it to Mashanapedyjo (Masher for short) thanks to Octo!

Pesha · 26/01/2008 17:56

Glad you had a good time SOL.

Caz - my friend's little girl who has just turned 3 shoved some 'Millions' sweets up her nose the other day! Nearly ended up in A&E on advice of dr but managed to get her to sniff them out in the end!!

Pinions - I've had a couple of being/feeling sick hangovers in my teens. And once when I was 15 (I think) I got drunk but then stopped drinking and stayed up late enough that I sobered up completely again without going to sleep and I had a headache then, but that is the only time! Sometimes feel abit bleurgh but thats it.

SPB - thats what I'm worried!! I turn 30 in November and I so dont feel like a 30 yo

Went to the muddy field with the river and Nathan and dog had lots of fun and then we went to the park opposite it and N and Dylan had great fun on the swings! But D fell asleep about quarter to 5 and is still asleep now Cant decide whther to wake him or leave him to it. He'd only slept for 5 mins all day before that. But he's not had tea yet although did have a big lunch. Oh what to do, what to do?!

cazboldy · 26/01/2008 18:27

I would leave him Pesha

I'm not big on routines, I figure they know what they need!

sometimes Molly has one nap in the day time sometimes 2 and sometimes they are longer than others, but it doesn't seem to make much difference to how she sleeps at night. Actually, I have been feeling guilty today as she didn't wake up until nearly 10 am and I usualyy lift her out and wake her up at about half seven!

oooggs · 26/01/2008 18:37

well last night was the crapest ever ds2 asleep from 8pm-9pm then slept til midnight, then up til 2am at which point dh and I at end of tether - tried everything - so he was rocked in the pushchair until asleep then lifted into the travel cot which is in our room to stop him disturbing the others. The little sod was still up at 6.15am

so anyone want a nearly 10 mth old? Buy one get one free? DS1 as well?

I have had a glass of wine to see me through bedtime, dh is working and I am shattered.

can't I put medised in the bottle of milk to get them to take anything? its their teeth but won't take medicine! about to start a thread

oooggs · 26/01/2008 18:37

I mean can I put it in the bottle?

mammyjo · 26/01/2008 18:42

You probably could put it in the bottle, do things like that in work to get lo's to take all kinds of vile medicine. Just give it a good swish to make sure it doesnt do anything to curdle the milk! Do you use a syringe to give them medicine normally?

geordiemacminx · 26/01/2008 18:47

Hey ladies,

Just checkin in before I go off on the lash with WO, and a few ante-natal friends. Have been on the archers aqua since 4.30 . Its absolutely pishing down here but you will be pleased to know I am in my finest cleavage top and tummy pulling in fashionable trousers.

I think its going to be a late on, I'm sure someone mentioned Club Tropicana, an 80's club... I dont think I have been ou dancing since before C was concieved!!

Hope you all have good nights, if I come back on when I get home please send me away - I'll be in no fit state. Hope C will be very bad good for his daddy, and even better for his mummy tomorrow morning

oooggs · 26/01/2008 18:48

have a fab night you scottish lot

mammyjo · 26/01/2008 19:04

Have a fab night gmm and gang! Like the sound of club tropicana, I love 80's music!

liath · 26/01/2008 19:09

DH has f*cked off to a wedding and I'm stuck waiting for the dd to stop arsing around drink her milk and go to bed.

Am going to have a nice glass of wine and watch a programme about Ancient Egypt.

Hope you have a better night tonight oooggs, you must be shattered. I can't see why you couldn't put medised in a bottle myself.

Idreamofchocolate · 26/01/2008 19:15

Gmm - have a fab night out! Don't think I've got the stamina for a night out like that anymore.

Oooggs - your nights sound dreadful, poor you. I would go with trying to syringe some Medised into the side of their mouths. Never used the stuff with Emily, but it works a treat with Sophie - about 2ml is enough to send her right off to sleep. (are we really bad for drugging up our DCs so we can get some sleep?).

SOL - your night out sounds like fun! Love getting dressed up, used to do it loads when dh was in the army.

Well, the house viewing was interesting. House needs everything, and I mean absolutely everything, doing to it, as well as extending. It was crawling with people viewing it, including a couple of mums I know from school. The location is idyllic (right in the middle of the woods) in the village where E goes to school. Problem is, said village is very sought after and hence very expensive. The house will go for a ridiculous amount of money for what it is, and then will still need another £100k spent on it to extend and get it liveable in. Sooooo, will probably put in a bid anyway (going to sealed bid), but v much doubt if it will come to anything. If it does not we are taking our house off the market as we are very bored indeed of this whole house buying/selling nonsense.

Right, dh gone off to get us a Thai meal, 1 dc in bed asleep, gotta get the eldest one upstairs right now....have good evenings all

Sexonlegs · 26/01/2008 19:25

Hi all

Oooggs, what a nightmare you are having. If I am giving K Medised at night, which we did tonight as she is full of cold and cough, I put it in her bottle, and always have done. She just spits it out otherwise and she really needs it. Hope you get a better night tonight flower.

GMM/WO, have a wonderful night out. I am incredibly jealous. Glasgow is ace for going out. I had many a drunken night at Betty's (?).

IDOC, good luck with the house! Enjoy your Thai meal - sounds fab.

Elkie, I meant to say how incredibly calm you sounded re D. Hope he is ok. It so easily happens. We were in a cafe today and K was on dh's lap happily chewing on the menu (which he thought was laminated!) She had managed to rip of a piece about the size of a 50 pence piece. Fortunately we realised and he managed to fish it out of her mouth. Quite scary.

Pesha, gald you had fun in the mud!

I am off out to babysit for a friend tonight, so won't be back on. Hope you all have fab evenings!!

oooggs · 26/01/2008 19:56

right the little buggers children are all in bed asleep dts took medised in a syringe pinned down in side of mouth and nose held very well and then took their milk. I am going to pootle off and switch the blanket on (especially as dh at work) and will be in bed very soon - just in case

runnyhabbit · 26/01/2008 20:40

Just coming on to say night night

And sending lots of {{{{sleep}}}} vibes to all the lo

xx

Pesha · 26/01/2008 20:46

Hope you have a better night tonight Oooggs For future reference I have put medised in a bottle for D before (only once as he doesnt normally have bottles) as he hates the taste of it normally, I cant see any problem with it.

Caz - 'I would leave him Pesha' - DP had a little bit of a worry when he saw that!! I did leave him and he woke up soon after 6. He's had his tea, change, bf and is now playing on the floor Oh well as long as he stays playing happily I dont mind!

Meant to say Pinions glad you're feeling better now Hope the posh wine goes down a bit better tonight!

Scottish Gals - hope you all have a great night - GMM - if you come on posring under the influence I will not kick you off I could do with a laugh

Lucewits · 26/01/2008 23:50

GMM
Thought that you might be on here but obviously not

lalabelle · 27/01/2008 00:41

GMM is still out on the razz, I've left her and wo in Club Tropicana dancing their socks off! Fab night. Quite a lot of strange blokes doing their best moves though - hilarious!

elkiedee · 27/01/2008 01:26

Glad to hear you had a good night out - is this a name change?

D woke up about 9.30 but has hopefully now gone to sleep for a while, I'm going to go up quite soon but am just trying to calm down. I got dp to take him out in the buggy and it didn't get him to sleep, but it did calm him down a lot and he didn't seem particularly anxious to be let out, so I just took the raincover off and waited for a few minutes, next time I looked he was asleep! Fingers and toes crossed.

cazboldy · 27/01/2008 09:31

hey ooogs hope you had a better night!

Oh Pesha your poor dp!

NorthernLurker · 27/01/2008 09:34

oh Elkie - up at 1.30 - poor you. Hope you're still asleep now to make up for it! Pretty good night here - fed B when we went up to bed and she then slept through till 7.20! Hurrah - makes such a difference not to be woken at 5 or 6 doesn't it?
Off to church shortly then lasagne for lunch and v lazy afternoon. Well I did clean the whole house yesterday

mammyjo · 27/01/2008 09:40

Morning all.

Oooggs, hope you managed a bit more sleep last night

Dh and ds have gone off on a fishing trip so I have the exciting task of preparing dinner (not that I dont do that every other day of the flaming week). I am just feeling a bit fed up with my mundane life. I feel like all I do is sort out children and do general housewife type things. I get one hour off each week to go to fat club and that is it (ooh, excitement). I am sure you are all the same, just feel fed up with it today

I wish I could have gone to club tropicana, it sounds fab! May be a little too far away for a night out though! Hope the headaches are not too bad today ladies

mammyjo · 27/01/2008 09:41

Hi NL

cazboldy · 27/01/2008 09:47

I know how you feel MJ

What gets me with him is that he never even thinks about leaving me with the dc, but if I want to leave them with him then it's like I'm asking him a favour or somethin

fgs once he even said "am I baby sitting then?" wtf They're YOUR kids!

can you tell this winds me up a bit

don't get me wrong - he is a lovely dad, but why should me going out be like going on holiday i.e organising everything way in advance!

NorthernLurker · 27/01/2008 09:49

Hi Mammyjo - dh needs the desk so I'll have to be quick. Nurturing the family stuff can be v dull can't it? It's all so worthwhile isn't it - I am planning a bit of a spa day for my birthday (in 2 months) and our holiday in August to keep me entertained Could dh mind children next weekend so you get some proper time off? Maybe cinema - or matinee at theatre?

Got to dash now - back later.

mammyjo · 27/01/2008 09:49

I think thats it Caz. We are the child carers, and they see their responsibility as a type of babysitting. Dh is a fab dad too, but I do find myself asking him if it is ok to go out and leave him with the children Its just the assumption that we are always there to do it that gets to me I think!

mammyjo · 27/01/2008 09:51

NL, that is a good idea. A couple of hours of escapism in the cinema would be great! Think I might call a friend later and organise something. It does help to have even small things to look forward to doesnt it!
