Sorry - I didn't realise Jeremy Beadle had leukaemia - my comment was a bit tactless in that case.

eandh · 30/01/2008 20:01

wilkie - bummer I am getting rid of the girls a week on saturday, cant wait!!! Actually my parents said about taking them on holiday next year
(in this country maybe 5 days / 4nights) and at first I was like yes and now I think mmmm do I really want them away that long??????????????????

eandh · 30/01/2008 20:02

oh and friends table was booked for 8 so they are just sitting down to eat and I am shattered and want to go to bed but cant fall asleep as I have double locked the front and back door (they live in big house along country lane and I was scared) and need to let them back in

laughalot · 30/01/2008 20:04

Yep he did have funny hands may he rest in peace .

Eah has just rung me she is having a great time going through her friends draws oops I mean eating her dinner

eandh · 30/01/2008 20:06

!!!!!! I wouldnt do that - but same reason I wont let anyone babysit in my house is that i think they'll look through something or turn on laptop and discover my MN fetish (and they may muck up one of my many organised things )

laughalot · 30/01/2008 20:08

bunnyhunny · 30/01/2008 20:24

hello
just saw beadle is dead. that's actually quite sad, and makes me feel a bit guilty about what we used to say about his big and little hand.

just heard today that the people behind us have applied for planning for 6 bungalows and an access road behind our house. And we are trying to sell and

wow, what alot of catching up to do on here..

We are back from Newcastle. Had lovely time with DH. Just SO nice to be able to cuddle up at night, and to have isobel so happy. She slept in between us most nights, and just put her little hands on both of us when ever she stirred. SO sweet. Didn't get anything sorted out re our relatioship being so bloody shit due to the distance, and me being so unhappy all the time, being on my own... but, decided it would be nicer to just have nice times together. Which is what happened. so i'm glad we didn't have any heavy and upsetting conversations.

lizz I'd also add Crete to your list. It's really mild in May, and quiet, and also still fairly cheap to get there. Food is great and also cheap. I'd love to go again. I stayed in a little fishing village called Stalis. It was in between 2 busier places, so we could go there if we wanted easily on the bus etc.

Thats really shit bunny about the houses behind you. Crap timing hey. Hopefull they will be turned down. Make sure you object to it too, in plenty of time.

Talking of tantrums etc. Isobel has started having terrible ones. She is getting such a handful at times for me. I cannot physically manage her sometimes, with my back. She could get out of a straight jacket I think. Is she the only 1 year old to behave like a 2 year old, or is this normal behaviour? I cant reason with her, but she understands she's not to do most of hte things she's not to do, IYSWIM? Its getting me down, alot. We went to my friends house last night, he met us of the train. She was So naughty, I was so embarrassed. it makes me so much more tired too. Any one got any ideas? I'm getting desperate here....
I"m also terrified of what she is going to be like when she is 2 or 3

DO hope you are all well

laughalot · 30/01/2008 21:24

No advice im afraid it just gets worse . Try have my aidan for a day ill swap with you. Glad you and dh had some cuddle time . I think its a shock to the system when they get bigger and start being naughty wait till shes 3 what joy

laughalot · 30/01/2008 21:26

Susie forgot to add my ds is 3 and I cant reason with him still

susiecutiemincepies · 30/01/2008 21:32

oh god I've no doubt she will get ALOT worse too....

Thanks though, I think? !

Wilkie · 30/01/2008 21:38

This Thread is making me PMSL

Bummer about the houses Bunny, fuckers

canofworms · 31/01/2008 00:30

hi there!

I've bought a new laptop today so hopefully on-line permanently now!

Unfortunately only news I've caught on this thread is that beadle has died.

Will catch up tomorrow but hope to be on here much more now I don't have to unscrew back off laptop every time I want to log on somewhere (last time I did it I forgot to unplug it and the older girls were quite impressed by the huge spark I gave off!)

I've also downloaded skype and msn and it's so addictive!

Sleep well!

eandh · 31/01/2008 07:51

Morning -

Susie - sounds as if you had a lovely time and I am not commenting on tantrums and ill behaved children because I am at the end of my tether most days with Ellie (shes is 3 like Laughalots Aiden!!) 3 is so much worse that 1 or 2 because they talk back to you

Bunny - shall we go and have a protest on the land (good excuse for a meet up )

Can - yeah welcome back! Hope all the girls are ok

LTH/2happy - how are the itchy ones this morning?

Lizz - I cannot and never had ben able to wear knee high boots as I have big calves (used to do trampolining in my teens and that didnt help !)

Rgee - hows the laptop going sounds as if you have a busy week at work

Babysitting went well - she didnt stir and they were home around 10.20 so I was home by 10.35. I did manage to knock a cup of tea over in the kitchen so ended up having to clear it all up but apart from that very unevventful night.

Right need to be off here and clean the house as have the preschool commitee coming tonight for meeting (oooo I lead such an exciting life don't I!!)

ladytophamhatt · 31/01/2008 08:44

Woooooooo, ds3 has some whoopers this morning. He even has one on the end of his willy...which he found highly amusing and showed us all!

2happy · 31/01/2008 10:44

PMSL LTH. ds2 doesn't seem to have any new ones this morning, so hoipefully we're over the worst of it and he slept much better last night. ds1 still showing no signs.
Can - welcome back, glad you got a new laptop
Susie - I know I moan about ds1's terrible 2's, but in some ways, he was worse at 1. He's always been good at tantrumming, but at that age I was unused to it and didn't know how to handle it, and he couldn't communicate so they were hard to solve, and no-one else's kids seemed to have started tantrumming, so i was the one left with a screaming hitting whirlwind while everyone else looked on either with pity or smugness or judgement. Or they'd tell you what to do, despite clearly having no experience of it whatsoever. At least at this age (2.8) you get understanding. Plus he rarely hits now - that phase (phase? Hah! Lasted about 18m - can you call that a phase?) was seriously upsetting to me. I find the behaviour harder work now he's in his 2's, but less upsetting IYSWIM. Maybe it's because I can understand why he's tantrumming so I am trying harder to solve the problem. I don't know. I do know that at 1, tiredness and hunger were huge factors in causing tantrums.
It's snowing up here. It's not lying, but the forecast is pants for the weekend. And I am already starting to get cabin fever...

I am having a great morning - E at preschool, came home H laying on the floor nodding off so shes been in bed since 9.50, have cleaned the downstiars and washed all the floors, done the bathroom and now sitting having a cup of tea in peace and enjoying it

ladytophamhatt · 31/01/2008 13:57

eandh, can you remember how long the spots developed for? ds3 still seems to get more and its been nearly 2 days since i noticed the first one. I didn't realise it was cp when i saw the first one as it's on his chest/ribs and he'd already scratched the head off so it didn't have a blister....
His head feels gross, he has loads in he hair, earlt 40 on his torso and about the same on his back.
And along with his end of willy one he also has one riiiight next to his bumhole....god i get thats gonna be itchy!!!

eandh · 31/01/2008 15:20

with Ellie 1st spots appeared overnight on friday night/saturday morning, got more on saturday and a few extra sunday then started scabing.

Hattie 1st spots were thursday (but literally about 3 around her bits so wasnt sure if it was cp), few more friday (mil phoned me whilst I was at work to say she had about 15 on her tummy/back and absolutley loads when she woke up saturday, she started scabbing sunday/monday

Hope that helps! (oooh I feel like a CP expert )
